Shapla Tandoori in Solihull

Late. Had to call restaurant who said 5 more minutes but it was actually 15 more, making it 45 minutes late. Food was ok but not a lot of chicken in the dishes.

We didn’t order till late in the evening but food took an hour to arrive. Food was not hot, Tikka masala was lumpy as if the cream had curdled and didn’t taste great. The other food was ok. Won’t be ordering again

phoned up twice to track the order as it didnt turn up as the app stated it was here and said “enjoy your food.” When it later arrived 45 minutes later the food was cold and there was spillage in the box into the other curries.

Arrived with shrivelled up and stone cold Sheek Kebab (think it was probably left over from yesterday) and a shop bought Nan bread. Awful meal and won’t be ordering from here again

First time i ordered won’t be ordering again the chips was cold also the naan the curry wasn’t up to much taste waste of money

Haven't had one fom the Shapla for a while but it's still great , traditional tasting curry. starters good,sides good and all packed very well.

My order was due to arrive between 1850-1910 and it arrived at 1935. I tried to ring the restaurant but no answer. Food was cold when it eventually arrived. V disappointed. Won’t be using Shapla again. First and last time.

The quality of the food and portion size is great but the food arrived cold and the boiled rice was missing (who wants to eat curry with not rice? 🤷🏼‍♀️) took the restaurant 20mins to delivery the rice by which time my curry was stone cold! Not impressed with their takeaway/delivery service 👎🏼

They didn't send complete order the 3 rices were missing . Sent a new order and Bombay aloo was missing but driver raced off so couldn't shout him as returned the first order phoned them up again but they didn't send after telling me they would phone driver to bring it back out of first order

Very quick delivery for a Friday

Considering most of it was in the bag. It wasn't to bad

Food was bland no flavour or spice. What makes it worse is the curry was given to me in a cardboard box, not a plastic bag, it leaked on my car seat trousers and jumper which are all ruined as well as the slab on my driveway

I placed an order from Shapla on Saturday the 11th at 9:00pm. I order from shapla regularly with my family so felt confident ordering from somewhere I know. At 10:30 my order still hadn’t arrived so I called the restaurant. The person who answered my call was very rude and started shouting at me. The staff at Shapla told me they tried to deliver my order and the person who answered the door said they didn’t order the food. The driver went to the wrong house and I was accused of given them the wrong address. They then started shouting at me more saying they will not deliver my food and that I gave them the wrong address. To which I did not as I know the address of where I am. They then proceeded to tell me to cancel my order as they will not be re delivering it again. This phone call left me in tears and without food at 11:00 at night. I had to drive to another restaurant to receive food. I feel so upset and appalled by the way this was handled and left the phone call in floods of tears.

Avoid Avoid Avoid at all costs worst Indian restaurant we have ever been to !!!!!!!! I asked to take away food that we never ate , waiter came back slapped on the table , I complained about service ! Shocked at the response I got Thought service and food had changed after it was closed down for hygiene Run down restaurant and food was poor compared to other Indian restaurants in the town Go there and find out ! 1/10

Hate to complain but the meal wasn’t even warm I couldn’t eat it and my naan bread was extremely hard. All went in the bin.

Chicken biryani was burnt it was so dry which was a shame I liked everything else.

Visited Shapla on a Saturday evening and we all had different curries. Each curry was terrible, they had no taste and was basically like water with onions in. Notified the owner and he basically said there wasn't nothing wrong. We have been to most of the curry houses around Solihull and Birmingham and this is definitely the worst one we have been to!! Don't waste your money!

Lovely atmosphere, waiters nicely attentive, Cobra beer well kept. Didn’t have a stater just poppadoms and dip, very crispy and dry. Decided on butter chicken with boiled rice, plates warm and freshly wiped, best curry I have had in a long while, very well spiced,rice was perfect. Warm wipes to finish a lovely chocolate with a very reasonable bill, will definitely be going again.

The new owners definately make the meet bhuna better than the previous but the chicken tikka massala was worst iv ever had. Nan breads are also smaller. Need to find a new indian who makes the perfect tikka massala . Shame. Good service when eating in though.

Everything about this restaurant is fantastic. We always want to try other places but we can’t risk it not being as good. The service is brilliant, ambience lovely but the thing that really does it for me is the quality of the ingredients. The chicken, lamb etc is great. Everything you order is fresh. Just love it here.

Restaurant rang me after I d left a message to change my Nan to a peshwari. They didn’t charge me the extra and food arrived early; hot and delicious

Very disappointed with the food first of all I wanna say I pay 11 pound for the nan-which one was hard like a brick. Secondly, chicken korma so sweet I couldn’t eat it how to put in the waist never use this restaurant again

I’ve ordered quite often and I live above the pub and they always phone me when they’re turning up today the delivery driver half an hour late walked into the pub and dumped it on the bar and just walked out and never said a word it was left there and it was stone cold

We've been coming here for years and now feel like part of the furniture! Never had a bad meal, service friendly and prompt, varied menu and overall good value. It's been a tough couple of years for places like this so it's good to see them back on track and doing well. Can get quite busy at times so book a table to be sure.

First time ordering and sadly probably the last. My chicken sagwalla was completely tasteless, no spice at all lots of thick chunks of tomato. The pilau rice was stodgy and clumped together. Chips overcooked. The samosas were nice but I was.so disappointed.

Three of us had dinner here, and we were happy. Just over £60 for three mains, two sides, two large bottles of water, and a pint pf beer. Two lamb dishes, and one veg Biriyani, plus sides of rice and garlic nan. No complaints as the meat was tasty, and it ticked all the boxes. Service was fast and polite, we were made to feel welcome, dining area was comfy.

I booked via the website and got a very quick reply and acceptance. The table was ready for the appointed time. Service was excellent, staff were friendly and knowledgeable and recommended the dish combination for my partner. The food arrived in a timely manner, freshly cooked, and was as expected and described. We were not pestered while we ate nor were we hurried. We will certainly return.

Regulars at Shapla. Fine tonight but not as good as usual. Pathia was far too spicy and a different colour to usual (different chef?!) Chips were over cooked and rock hard…more like crisps. Will be back. But not great tonight
