Shapla in East Riding of Yorkshire

This place used to be fantastic. Most Saturdays we would have a takeaway and couldn’t fault it until these past months. The prices increased and the standard went down hill badly. Everything seems to be spiced up so much including raita. Never had spicy hot raita and have to say it’s appalling. This is our last time of using this place. I’m sure those people who were complaining tonight are of the same opinion too. Very sad.

Had no reservation but the staff couldn’t be anymore welcoming. Food and the service were both great! Would recommend to anyone.

Worst Indian we’ve had for a while. Staff are completely rude didn’t even greet us on arrival. Waited more than a hour for starters, and didn’t check if we were happy with the food at all. When the plates came out for the mains, one was cold and one was not clean so had to be sent back. We ordered a lamb bhuna and lamb madras, however, could hardly taste the difference between the two curries just one slightly hotter. Absolutely disappointing and won’t be returning. Would not recommend, nicer Indian restaurants with better service locally.

Waited 40mins for meal, wrong dish served. Food was lukewarm. Our request to see the manager and complaint of cold food was totally ignored. We arrived at 6.07pm and left at 7.45pm ultimately having a lukewarm curry and an aggressive response from the 'stand in' manager. AVOID WEEKEND BOOKINGS !!!!! You will be expected to compensate for under stafffing hence overbooking, members of arrogant staff,and very poor customer service.

Excellent meal, set menu for two, poppadum, starter, main and a side. Food delicious and plentiful. Service was excellent. Would recommend

The food was superb and the staff were so friendly. Really couldn’t do enough for us. The menu had a great selection of dishes. Book early as it was already busy at 6;30. There was a great atmosphere and although tables were quite close, it wasn’t intrusive.

1st visit here and it definitely won't be the last. Very busy when arrived at 6.15,seated straight away,ordered poppadoms then we had starters I had Chicken Chat very tasty,hubby had lamb chops which were a little over done but still nice.Mains of Chicken tikka masala and I had one of the chefs specials both very tasty.Had a lovely evening with great food on a very busy evening....well done and see you soon

5 starts for service, 5 starts for spice, 5 stars for price 👌 I ordered the mixed grill and it didn’t disappoint, plenty of meat come out sizzling on a hot plate. this was served with a side of curry sauce , so I also added Palau rice & a stuffed pepper. Unreal bit of kit on the tastebuds 😍

Amazing good with friendly staff. Service was quick without feeling rushed. All the dishes and sides were tasty and good quality. One of the best Indians we have had. Will definitely be returning

No words can describe this restaurant good enough, best Indian around the area Doncaster, Wakefield, Goole would highly recommend it. Booking advised. Trust me when I tell you this, this is by far the best Indian restaurant in the Doncaster and Goole area and it’s not even close. Been working around the area for the last 4 weeks and I’ve tried probably 4/5 different Indians so far and none of them have been to any standard near this place. Me and my son went to go for a sit down Saturday night and it was ram packed and they told us it would be at least a hour wait for a table and with teenagers being aggy and inpatient we left and went elsewhere but I promised myself I’d visit this week as the food smelt fantastic. Well tonight was the night it it did not disappoint. The vindaloo I had was oozing so many different flavours and spices It was like an explosion in my mouth. If you read a lot of reviews to judge where to eat as I do then please do not scroll any further and go and indulge. The only issue some might find is that it’s out in the sticks a bit but don’t hesitate to drive that little bit further, you will not be disappointed
