Maa Indian Restaurant in East Riding of Yorkshire

Visiting on holiday and purchased takeaway which was very good quality and very reasonably priced. Placed order on line and received 20% off. There was a delay in order being ready when went to collect but other than that a good experience.

Found this restaurant on Trip Adviser and ordered a takeaway for collection last night. The restaurant was full (a good sign) and it appeared that there was only the manager - and one guy serving - so there was an element of chaos reigning! The food bag appeared, with many apologies, 50 minutes after the agreed time, and I left hoping that the chaos hadn't resulted in an incorrect order! I shouldn't have worried as the food was truly excellent and well worth the wait, despite the absence of the pickle tray! Overall, this place is highly recommended, if an extended wait time for collection's no problem. Fantastic food...and it's licensed so the bottle of Asian lager was much appreciated!

By for the best meal and service I've had in a long time, the food was exceptional, the staff friendly and attentive and the prices very reasonable. Attended the restaurant twice in one week, and if back in hornsea, I will definitely return.

First time here for my daughter and myself and have got to say that it was the tastiest Indian food we've had. Everything was freshly made and packed full of flavour. Portion sizes were good and the staff couldn't do enough for us although they were a tad unorganised and we had to keep repeatedly asking for things that we'd ordered. We wanted to have the pickle tray and popadoms then a number of starters to share along with one main meal then a main to take away and that was no problem. We had the best onion bhajis chicken pikoras and chicken chat aswell as chicken and spinach balls which were amazing, the chicken byriani was excellent.We did ask for them all to be served together but by the time the byriani came we had demolished the starters. We were given foil containers to take home our leftovers and ordered a korai dish to take home which we had the following day and they were excellent. Overall price was very reasonable. I would recommend without hesitation the food but be aware we did have a long wait and the constant stream of people going in for takeaway who were seen to first which led to long waits. Would definitely return as the food was amazing but suggest that the customer service in the restaurant is handled more promptly maybe one person see to the takeaway side whilst another sticks to the restaurant area but wouldn't put me off going again.

Quite Wednesday evening; but perfect attention: food was delicious. Prawn Bruna a personal favourite was scrumptious- perfect heat and full of prawns. Onion bhaji starter was crispy and flavourful. Other items were just as tasty. Excellent service. We were very impressed.

From entering the restaurant to finally leaving we had a brilliant experience. Mien host was incredibly attentive and we felt truly welcome. The menu is very diverse, consequently we took a long time choosing our meals. When the starters and then the main course we weren’t disappointed. The food was well presented, hot and delicious. This is probably the best Indian restaurant I’ve visited in forty years.

Excellent food and service the staff were particularly helpful and even gave us a sample of their own food as they were celebrating Eid will definitely be visiting again on our next trip to Hornsea

Warm and vibrant restaurant. It was very busy but we were not rushed. Great ambience and service was spot on as was the good. Go there!

This is my absolute favourite Indian for both takeaway and eating in the restaurant. Food is always amazing - beautiful authentic flavours, large portion sizes with loads of tender meat. We have tried a few different dishes and nothing has ever disappointed. Not only is the food amazing, the service is second to none. The staff are so polite and friendly - it’s a delight to eat there. I would highly recommend.

I’ve been to a lot of Indian restaurants in my time and this has got to be one of the best. My friends and I were treated exceptionally well and the food tasted fantastic. Lovely staff and a really authentic feel to the restaurant. Can’t wait to go again

Our waiter was extremely good and attentive and nothing was too much for him. This is where this restaurant triumphs. Unfortunately, our experience revealed flaws, which will prevent me from returning. Our food order came out incorrect. We had too much of one item and not enough of another. The food was bland and lacked flavour. It's disappointing for me to write a negative review as our waiter was so lovely.

Came here for the first time tonight for my birthday meal. The restaurant was inviting and nicely decorated. The food was beautiful, the shared starter we had was flavoursome and full of individual flavours. My main course, the south Indian garlic chilli chicken was lovely, and the spice ratio of the dish was perfect for me. My mum said her special biryani is the best she's ever had, and I tried a bit and the chicken tikka was beautiful. We will definitely come back. The waiter was friendly and helpful and showed a genuine passion for the food he was serving. A really pleasant and enjoyable experience with great value for money we will definitely be back!

Our fourth visit this year introducing the grandsons to Indian food. Lovely friendly service with a menu that offers the standards alongside some quite decent specials. We take our own drinks which keeps the cost down.

Super friendly staff who create amazing food and now have a Choice of excellent bottle beers including Kingfisher & Bangla along with others. Highly recommended 👍

My mum and I visited this restaurant and had lovely food. What made it even better was the staff and the service.
