been here with my friends, family & coworkers. I love the Mars Milkshake & Tuna Sandwiches/Melts whist catching up with friends, coworkers or family

Dropped in on a Friday night for the Greek Gyros food night. All the staff are great and the food was fantastic. Will be taking the team next week for a Christmas treat. If you haven't tried this wonderful cafe then you are missing out. Keep up the good work everyone x.

We went on a Friday evening for gyros as we saw these advertised locally and they looked delicious. The wraps did look just like they advertised but unfortunately we’re let down by a long wait in a very quiet shop only to find the food stone cold when it came to eat. While it was nice seeing a small business try something new it just fella bit short and was expensive @ £8.95 for a filled wrap served cold.

Excellent experience, service v good,I had cheese and tomato sandwich came with crisps and salad, daughter had jacket potatoe,food was excellent,nice and cosy,would recommend 100%

Lovely independent cafe which I highly recommend. Good choice for coeliac / gluten free customers with plenty of GF alternatives. Special mention for the care and attention to detail of those who served me.

Went here and what a disappointment. Expensive and very poor quality. We had a coronation chicken sandwich which was £8.15 , we queried this but was told it came with a salad and crisps and was more like a meal. Upon arrival the coronation chicken was warm like it has been in the sun and the bread was cheap and again warm, the salad was small and no coleslaw, well a very small amount mixed in with a small salad. Overall very poor quality and a hefty price. Tea was also expensive. One to avoid in Portishead that offers many great alternatives.

Have visited Shanicatti multiple times, in the last month, and in the last year, as it is our go to café, for a drink and gluten free food. Friendly staff, lovely homemade cake, off of the main high street; just lovely. Food As a Coeliac, I have to be careful where and what I eat (have to be strictly gluten free, as I am sensitive to being glutened!); Shanicatti are able to provide gluten free cake (including scones), sandwiches (the 'club sandwich' is so nice...), toasties, and (when available) a delicious Moussaka. They can provide you with alternate milk, such as Oat or Soya, if required. Tea and cake comes provided on pretty chinaware. They also sell milkshakes and smoothies, which prove very popular with kids (and grown ups!). Service The staff are friendly, and always try to help if they can (once they went to get gluten free bread, for a 'club sandwich', as they had run out. When it gets busy, due to the size of the preparation area & kitchen, it can take a while to get your food & drink, but nothing ridiculous. If they have to make milkshakes or smoothies, it can take a little longer. Atmosphere A nice little café, off of the main High Street, with a few outside tables. It has a lovely, homely feel to the place; reassuringly familiar and comfortable.

Came in for their delicious homemade Gluten Free cake (Almond & Raspberry Cake; though I could have had Carrot Cake or Millionaire's Shortbread too), and a Latte. It is good to know that, as a Coeliac, I can be reassured that the cake is definitely gluten free, and free from cross-contamination. Friendly, relaxed atmosphere, where you can get Gluten Free sandwiches, toasties, cake, and even their delicious Moussaka (highly recommended!). They do plenty of other things too, but the review is long enough already! (Sorry there isn’t more cake on my plate, in the photo…it was too yummy to leave…)

I had a Milkshake & Tuna Melt toastie when I caught up with my friend. Lovely place to do so as food was lovely and the milkshake was different from how I remember from my last visit but was still nice to drink in the courtyard on a warm June day

My Friend treated me to afternoon tea for my birthday, Well what can I say, what an amazing couple of hours the staff were very friendly and welcoming, we could order our sandwich fillings and bread type this was served with a selection of crisps cheese biscuits, we had a choice of cake flavours, Scones with a choice of jams and clotted cream, brownies, fruit served with a pot of Tea we had such a lovely afternoon and will definately recommend to family and friends

In the evening this becomes Dapurkayu pan Asian cuisine. Wow, fantastic food at great value, lovely chef/ host, different flavours from a Thai or curry house. We had spring rolls with a chilli dip, chicken satay skewers as a starter, beef noodle curry in a fantastic broth and tofu noodle bowl with fresh veg and two roti to die for. Food was very hot, fast service and a fun atmosphere. £38 for the two of us. We eat out in Bristol a lot and this was the best we have had for months and the price was just a bonus. Support this young man, you won’t be disappointed

We had delicious authentic Malaysian food here. Service was excellent and the food was amazing. The Banana milkshake was amazing!

Tried the Maylasian food last week, was amazing! Great portions, not too spicy. Would highly recommend.

Disappointed was recommended but baked potatoes were not even warm, waited ages to be served and Victoria sponge cake not much taste very bland.The cup of coffee and tea was at least hot.Not worth the £28 we paid for 2 people 🙁

We saw this quiet looking cafe and went inside to order. Young girls working there chatting. We asked if they were serving and they were quite rude. Brought out a scone with jam and the cream on the side despite me asking for a plain one. The hot dog and shake for £5 was low standard. It took about 20 mins for a cheap bread bun with 2 tiny sausages from a tin, they drowned it in ketchup. My drink “lemonade” arrived warm in an Asda can with no glass etc. when I asked for a glass with ice they looked shocked. Our other meal the Greek chicken dish - the chicken was so hard and overcooked. It was a bad lunch experience with a rude server.

In theory this should work, but it doesn't It's a simple and good idea, tea and cake, hot dogs and milkshake. Lovely. Except its apparently run by teenagers, they are polite but it's a shambles. They are forgetting orders, they aren't communicating with each other and people are sitting around waiting for ages and looking increasingly inpatient at them. The milkshakes were OK, not thick and more milk than substance. The hot dogs are basic, and the girl with belly top brought them out the kitchen pressed against her bare stomach (no apron) It took forever and we won't go there again.

It needs someone who knows how to run a cafe, it's slow, orders are being missed and with mediocre food and milkshake its a massive disappointment. Honestly the girls in there were nice....but really clueless.

Amazing experience! Lovely staff and Paninis, homemade shakes & cakes. It is infact so good it will be the new venue for our monthly tea club! Quite possibly becoming weekly. Fabulous!

This is situated just off the main thoroughfare, but it is well worth seeking out.

We have visited Shanicatti on a number of occasions and have always really enjoyed the food - especially the cakes. As such, we asked if they would help to cater the afternoon tea at our wedding. We had 70 guests and Shanicatti happily supplied cakes and sandwiches to feed more than enough! The food went down really well and everything was really well organised. The milkshakes are a must for anyone with a taste for such things and everything is served on very cute vintage crockery - very tasteful!

Served immediately by a very friendly team and their cakes are so delicious I'm thinking of a trip to Portishead just to buy more!

Sat for 10 minutes. Stsff didn't acknowledge our presence. There were a total of six tables occupied and 4 were waiting for service. Poorly organised. We left without being served.

Lovely local cafe. Hidden away in sun trap little courtyard. Sandwich lunches well presented. But you really go here for the cakes and shakes. Perfect when you want a treat.

I wanted to do something special for my Mum's birthday this year and settled on organising a cream tea for a small group of friends and family. I contacted Shanicatti Shakes on the off chance that they would make all the sandwiches and a cake for the event which was due to happen only 24 hours later! I was pleased to find out they could help on such short notice. David was very accomodating and made sure he knew exactly what we wanted. Nothing was too much trouble. The sandwiches were delicious (especially the coronation chicken) and a couple of people commented that the victoria sponge was the best they'd ever had! Everything was very affordable too. Would not hesitate to order again! We even popped to the cafe the next day to say thank you over a milkshake.

My wife and I called in for a quick coffee during trip to Portishead. Chose seating outside, used sanitizer provided and used NHS Covid App situated by entrance. Coffee was very good, as was our conversation with local man on next table. All I all a very nice stop off, and good to support independent business, as opposed to chain coffee shops located elsewhere on High Street.

Due to covid, outside seating only. Place order at doorway, which is then brought to table. Very good coffee, and I'm very fussy. Pleasant enough staff - what's not to like?? Companion had cake, which she enjoyed.

One of the best tuna melts I've had! Hand prepared so you might have to wait a while but definitely worth it! Just need to try they're famous milkshakes now!

Visited with my family, the service was excellent, good value to. Had a wide selection of food and the coffee was great to. Will be visiting again

Have been back twice in February 2020. Under new ownership but lovely atmosphere has gone. Scruffy "Cash Only..." sign on door. Salad was badly presented, just heaped on plate. A dead hyacinth still in washroom and a babychanging notice still fallen down. Was not asked if I wanted sugar with my coffee when served. Bits of food and crumbs on cafe floor. I wont be going back

I ordered prawn sandwich with salad etc. The bread was not fresh, hardly any prawns and overloaded with mayonnaise. Pot of tea OK. My friend had leek and potato soup, was also disappointed as it was bland and watery. All in all both snacks were overpriced therefore shall not be going there again. Thought someone would have asked if our meal was OK so would have told them our views but disappointed there too.

Lovely environment to treat your kids with a milkshake after school.

Great service and great coffee, the only thing that let it down was that we were given margarine instead of butter with our toast which makes a big difference.

This is a fairly small place that i love to go with a couple of friends and get tea served in tea cosies and cute crockery. My favourite is the jacket potatoes or sandwiches and the cakes are gorgeous. My kids like to come in the summer for a wide variety of milkshakes and hot dogs and sit out side in the patio in the sun. Lovely friendly staff too.

Portishead Marina is well worth a visit, it is fabulous. This cafe was also fantastic, and the owner could not have been kinder in helping me with my left-behind item, way beyond expectations. Happy New Year to you all, and keep up the good work!

Pop into this little cafe every Saturday. Frequently have to wait for table to clear because it is so popular. Beautiful cakes, tasty filling sandwiches. Hot drinks and a very clever ‘Kids’ menu that attracts local school children on there way home.Good mix of ages using this cafe. School kids to OAP’s.Tables always cleared and cleaned as soon as tables vacated. Don’t see that often these days!

Visited several times before with Freinds and Family. Every time, I've had a lovely milkshake, the location & definitely not my last trip to Shanicatti Shakes.

Tea cosy! I’m so excited. It is a lovely cafe & the tiffin & lemon cake were perfect. Moist & tasty. We loved its vintage style. Definitely coming back.

Lovely little cafe tucked away on Portishead high street. Great selection of fresh sandwiches/baguettes and salads. And the shakes are amazing. All of their cakes are handmade and are also delicious! Been here numerous times and will always recommend.

We have been regular visitors here over the last couple of years and it is consistently good. Their sandwiches are superb, and they prepare them very quickly. The shakes are amazing, as are the homemade cakes and tiffin. It is also lovely to be able to sit outside, tucked away from the High Street.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was yummy. Freakshake was exciting! Restraunt has lovely decore and in great location. I love it so much!

Basic cafe however the special shake is amazing! With a donut and cream right on top, amazing!! A real treat for my son!

We popped in two weekends ago as a treat for my eldest as our other kids were at parties. He opted for a chocolate orange freakshake and it was huge! I just went for a berry smoothie which was tasty and refreshing. He was very pleased with his freakshake and struggled his way through it!

Simply the very best cake shop in the world! The handmade cakes are absolutely moist and delicious - there is always a good selection available.

Great cafe behind high street. Lovely coffee and tea with tea cosy on tea pot. A nice touch. What I would recommend is the unisex toilet which was a very clean.

Visited on a hot day, just after they had put what I can only think is creosote onto the outside fence. Fumes were terrible. Shame because location, cake, price and everything else was perfect.

Very nice food but hideously expensive. Over £5 for a small to medium sized jacket potato with only a mere spoonful of beans is ridiculous. It even makes the likes of Costa seem like amazing value for money. Sorry, I like to support local businesses but this seems excessive.

The staff are friendly and helpful. the menu is extensive, the cakes are delicious and the soup is always full of flavour. I love the quirky tea pot covers and the way they support local crafts people.

The sign on the wall outside this cafe seems to sum up the general appearance and attitude of the whole cafe it's self. Yes, at the time of our visit the location was busy with school children. However, tea pots in jackets are quirky a thing of the past and should stay there. The menu was also very basic and seemed to cater only for those that wanted to eat basic cafe food. The staff even though polite seemed not to understand health implications for diabetics and their need of not having sugary products. Will definitely not be visiting again.

A nice place behind the high street to stop for a shake. They have a large variety of shakes to choose from and each is very good. Although, it is a bit pricey.

Hidden behind the main High Street shops this is a secret haven for the naughty nibbler. Oh such lovely cakes at sensible prices; gorgeous milkshakes and yummy coffee; ideal secret rendezvous for delicious snacks.
