Absolutely brilliant today's special fried rice had so much meat i should have cost more fed 3 with ease let alone the bbq ribs and sweet and sour dish this has my full recommendation all the way double the 5stars to 10

Really disappointed with other order. It arrived on time, was fresh and hot but no taste. The prawn crackers had no prawn taste just dry stale crackers. All the meals were flavourless abd had no taste other than whatever it had been cooked in. Will not be ordering again. Waste if meant £60!

Sweet and sour batter has burnt aftertaste

Dumplings were ok, Spicy Vermicelli was not spicy at all, almost no flavour. Salt and pepper chips were like bad quality oven chips again not nice. Dumplings were alright hence the 2 stars. Also driver instructions ignored resulting in waking up people asleep.

Food was great as always. Delivery arrived in 20 mins, unlike the other reviews on here - couldn’t help but notice they were ordered on Chinese New Year, so I assume that’s why theirs was a longer delivery time! Would 100% recommend :)

Ordered via Uber Eats. Nothing happened after 40 minutes. They called me saying their driver are not able to deliver right now. Asked if I could pick it up by myself. Picked up. They refused to refund my delivery fee. Insane)) weird place, stay away from them

The best. We order from here maybe once a week, and it’s consistently awesome. Are we talking Michelin stars here? Of course not, it’s a takeaway…. but if you want consistently good takeaway food, look no further.

We used this takeaway delivery firstly during lockdown and now it is our favourite Chinese Delivered on time, piping hot, large portions and excellent taste. Give them a try you won’t be disappointed.

Should be 0*. Over 90 mins to get food delivered on a Tuesday night…. When I rang to enquire about where the driver was up to, the lady was rude and put the phone down. Will not be coming back

this place is awful, spent £40+ on food which didn’t even arrive. our food was supposed to be delivered at 7:45 and it’s now 8:53. this is an absolute disgrace. the line is “busy” and we can’t even leave a voicemail. i suppose i’m never getting my money back or my food (which after reading the reviews i’m not actually that disappointed about).

Fantastic Chinese takeaway every time, the food is fabulous and delivery is in a timely manner for a weekend evening.

the food that was sent to us had gone off, the whole order had to go in the bin, it was terrible, i would not feed it to a dog, i sill can not believe how bad the chicken had gone, if we had of eaten it we would have been very ill

I ordered a Chinese on the 29th March for 8pm, eventually at 10:30pm with no update times, it turned up. As it was so late I turned it away. I rang the place and asked for a refund which they said would be done the next day. Well we are now the 9th April and still no refund. I phoned them and said I want the money tonight and as I don't drive I said it needs to be dropped off and was willing to take £1.50 off my money so someone can drop it off. This was at 7pm and yet again my money has still not turned up. Do not use this Chinese. They tell you what you want to hear.

Only did 1 star as won't let me post without 1. This deserves a no star. Do not order from this place, customer service is horrible. Food arrives hours after you have asked for, for them to say nit there fault. Will never ever order from them again

Ordered from here tonight like we have on many occasions but after a few complications with our order and trying to speak to a woman on the phone to sort things out she was so rude to us and didn't want to help in anyway so we will not be ordering from here again!!!!! Lost a regular customer!!

Ordered takeaway at 6pm, said it would be 1 hour, 1 hour 45 mins later i can't get hold of them for love nor money, had to send a message through just eat at which point the 'estimated' my food would be delivered at 8.30!!!!! Then had to spend 20 mins trying to get my money back that they had already taken. Just Diabolical.

3 hours after we ordered, hung up on 30 times - no food delivered- the woman on reception was absolutely awful - 2 kids gone hungry tonight and the most disgusting thing is they tried to deliver over an hour and 30 minute after they put it in the car - want to get sick, order food from here

We ordered a takeaway from the website. Food came on time. Piping hot. All fresh. Best Chinese meal we've had from a takeaway in a very long time. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend to friends and family. Thanks Guys

Tiny portions way too expensive

We use Shanghai memories regularly and always get piping hot, tasty food, usually delivered earlier than expected. Highly recommended.

We were very lucky! Our friend recommended this fantastic Chinese restaurant in Al Safa Luxury Hotel. The food was delicious, we get roasted duck, garlic prawns and beef spicy soup. The ambient is so traditional and sophisticated. Al Safa hotel is a really a gem: there is unique collection of Prestige Ancient cars outside, as the first Bugatti. The Hotel looks very unique, all of this allowed us to have so nice Chinese food experience😍

I have ordered my dinner food yesterday as I always do and I found a little bit of a glass inside, it happened in two different plates. We had to stop to eat and put everything in the bin. As general rule any glass should be in the kitchen of the restaurants.

The mini spring rolls are the best.

First time we have tried from here & the chow mein was really tasty & fresh hubby is not a lover of chow mein but even he was impressed , will order from here again and will also be trying different meals as I usually always have chow mein but if everything is as good I will be trying different things.

Ordered food at 7. 20 pm told 50 minutes to 1 hour still not received by 9.00 pm told driver running late another 20 minutes still not arrived so told them how long they said 5 mins so I said if any longer I would knock 5 pounds off bill. Did not arrive wife phone as I was as mad as hell. The person on end of phone said sorry do not understand? Sorry they did understand And I cancelled order. neather order from hear again

I love Chinese food and this is the tastiest Chinese ive ever had, 2nd time ordering now . You can really tell the difference, So moreish and tasty, not bland at all, its soooo good from here !! great service. Will order from here every time !!!!! Thank you very much.

Great food and reasonable price. Easily the best Chinese in Macclesfield. Those who are complaining about customer service seem to forget that this is a takeaway, not a restaurant.

'I don't like to criticise but......'. Having just read a selection of my fellow TA member's reviews I really did feel the need to provide some perspective here. SM is one of the takeaways we use and the food is good and they're super efficient. It's true that a rating of 3/5 is not very good as regards hygiene but they only appear to have fallen down, back in 2016, on surroundings. I'm sure steps were taken to rectify this, it's not like you are going to get food poisoning, they are always extremely busy. Anyway DreamT, 'having dined in some of the most celebrated oriental eating establishments around the world' and being an excellent cook yourself, SM was never really going to be good enough was it? It's a shame Jins is over your budget. I'm so pleased you gave the excellent Bucks Head in Church Stretton a great review though it's now changed hands! 45 reviews and 45 thank yous, well done yourself.

Have had deliveries and collected several meals from here and the food has never disappointed. Certainly one of the best in the area.

I should have known better but we'd just come back from a long trip and couldn't be bothered cooking. Big mistake! Like most Chinese takeaways nowadays the food here is geared towards the lowest common denominator i.e those who've had a skinful and those who've never experienced quality Chinese cuisine before. I have, but such places tend to be few or far between. A rule of thumb I use before buying a set meal is to try the Salt n Pepper spare ribs first, which I failed to do on this occasion. My bad! In this establishment the ribs were fatty and had been dunked in batter then deep fried with a few chopped onions sprinkled over them. The other dishes were equally disappointing, adding to the guilt we felt not preparing something at home. Another thing to check out is the hygiene rating sticker which is usually posted in the shop window when the highest level has been reached. There was none posted in this takeaway when we went which speaks volumes.

Dont normally review places but the sweet and sour i had tonight was absolutely awful. burnt and dry. Never again. Would certainly not recommend it.

Such awful awful service from this restaurant. I would not recommend using it. We tried it a while ago and had problems with delivery despite giving explicit instructions. We tried them again and had the same problems with delivery again yet this time they missed part of our order. They tried to claim the food was in the bag and said the driver would return with the rest... we sat and waited whilst the rest of the food went cold. When we rang back up again we were spoken to by an extremely rude women who, very professionally, put the phone down on us. They clearly had our money and then wanted nothing more from us! Really disappointed and would not recommend them to anyone!

used to eat here a lot and it was nice, recently its gone right down hill, last night was the final straw... both myself and my partner spent the night on the loo and being sick... disgusting food
