Shampan At The Spinning Wheel in Bromley

I took my young son to introduce him to a curry house curry. We went for a Sunday Buffet. The food was delicious and a good temperature. The meat was good quality and beautifully tender. I don't normally like eating lamb but the Kashmiri Lamb Bhuna was delightful. It was very nice. While we might have liked some other things to be available it was a nice selection. The desert options were nice too. The staff were very friendly and inviting. It was a very pleasant experience and felt my son was able to have a comfortable and engaging new experience.

Very attentive service, polite and friendly waiting staff. Everyone in the building was full of life and chatty and helped us enjoy our evening. The food was outstanding and is consistently good every time we come. The bill comes with a split option, the team are lovely, it is a delightful and easy dinner. One will never regret a trip to this restaurant.

Food was great, service not so much. Very rushed and generally a bit off-standish. There was an item i thought was a hair cooked into my poppadom, to which they clarified was a brush hair but didn't even apologise and just said it happens. Got mixed up with an order and forgot half of the desserts as well, had to reorder after 🤦‍♀️. Furthermore, had planned to stay for cocktails after but was suddenly planted with a bill we hadn't even asked for, again really uncomfortable. They didn't close (according to google anyway) for another 40+ mins so i don't quite understand why they were rushing us so much. Felt a bit awkward and just a generally uncomfortable experience especially since i just wanted a nice meal out for my 21st 🤦‍♀️. Would not come again and probably wouldnt recommend, food was decent but service was just not great at all.

The service and food were amazing! The staff were really attentive and, even though one of our party wanted an awkward choice, the chef came out to the restaurant to discuss exactly what she wanted and then made it perfectly! Definitely recommend!

Came here for a family event. Good selection of food on the buffet and overall it was good value for money but we have had better Indian food at other restaurants. Overall the service from staff was very good.

Logistically and financially unable to go as often as i would like , however not because of the value for money . There is a saying “You get what you pay for” The food and service was as good as ever , the relaxed atmosphere , drink in the lounge area then move into the restaurant all adds value . Chef Sadek came out to meet us and recommended dishes which included his excellent grilled chicken dish and the Punjabi sauce along with others . The presentation and flavours made for clean plates . This restaurant is special and like many went through tough times during the Pandemic but in my opinion has bounced back whilst maintaining high standards . Thanks fro an enjoyable experience guys .

This is one of the nicest restaurants I have been to in a while. Beautiful decor, friendly and attentive staff and the food was delicious. My friend and I shared the Amritsari tilapia which was nicely flavoured, as was the mixed grill platter. For our mains we had the cauliflower broccoli paneer dish which had nice textures and was mildly flavoured, and the lamb kadhai with garlic naan. The lamb was super tender and the sauce had enough spice to keep two Indian ladies happy! We ended with a mango and cardamom brulee which I can't wait to go back for. 100% recommended. Around £45 per head without alcohol, but worth every penny.

Six of us ate at the Shampan for dinner on a Sunday evening after they had just finished serving 150 people for a wedding at lunchtime. We were sceptical that they would be too exhausted to cope. But no. They were amazing. Fantastic welcoming staff, attentive service and wonderful fresh food in the most luxurious surroundings. Well worth the journey. We'll be back!

The restaurant is large but actually quite cosy as it’s split into different areas. The service was very good and the food was excellent. Very nicely presented in a modern way. Due to covid and one reason or another we haven’t been to this beautiful 🤩 restaurant in a while. If I’m honest I totally forgot how lovely it really is!! From the moment we arrived we were greeted warmly by the smiling staff, Sadek the chef came to see us and just what a lovely man & outstanding talented chef. The decor, the food, the service was second to non! Highly recommend and we will return very soon. Thank for making our Sunday a special amazing 🤩 day.

Booked for a birthday treat for a 90 year old Indian lover and boy what a treat it was. Lovely chic decor, staff super friendly and very helpful. Food delicious and great cocktails. Meal ended with a couple of lovely little added extras which went down a treat. Thank you and can't wait to return.

I have visited this restaurant several times to date, invariably for Sunday Lunch. Where to start? The location is semi rural but close to major access routes and suburbia. It is in a vast but quiet setting with ample parking and seating. The decor is of a high standard and provides a perfect ambience for a pleasant dining experience. The staff are welcoming and friendly with no shortage of attention provided. To back this up the range and quality of food is of a very high standard and time is given to maximise the experience. Aside from the dining areas there is a spacious and relaxing lounge ideal for pre & after dinner drinks. Overall one of the best Indian style restaurants visited in my 66 years and thoroughly recommended to all who appreciate this cuisine. Will certainly visit again when the opportunity arises.

I have found it hard to write this review as I have been going to this Restaurant for years however I will not be going back.We visited before we went in to Tier 3 however they sat us on a small table between a table of 6 and another of 2There was absolutely no social distancing and the next table were quite obviously 3 separate couples who should not have been able to book. It was so obvious and they were so near that the waiter was backing in to me when taking the order.The other side was virtually empty and we had to ask twice to move as clearly in breach of government guidelines and social distancing After waiting 25 minutes to order a drink and poppadoms the waiter said we had to order everything straight away as they are the rulesI heard someone else saying the food was so hot and spicy however I didn’t expect to have prawn puri so excessively hot that I have ever experiencedEven the chicken tikka was spicy and the keema naan was so hot.It also seems so weird that they don’t give you a spoon for the riceIf you ask one of the waiters anything a number of them have to go and ask one of the main waiters as they cannot understand I was however shocked at one of the waiters showing a customer and his young son in to the main kitchen. I thought there were regulations regarding hygiene especially in these times.Then one of the waiters went to move our glasses to make room on the table and he holds them at the top where you drink It was not an enjoyable evening and we won’t be going back.

Had my first opportunity to go to the restaurant in Westerham and it was a lovely surprise. The cocktails were devine and the food was beautiful presented. We enjoyed our starters and main courses, I had the venison which was beautifully prepared and presented. The tarka dhal and mix vegetables were ok, I have had better. The laccha paratha was not what I expected, it was just a tandoori roti really but the chef made me a lovely paratha when I complained and explained that their paratha was not the same as other places. However, I do think they should serve the one they made for me which was perfect. The staff were gracious and friendly and I look forward to going back there.

I hate to write this review as every time we’ve visited Shampan in the past we’ve been so pleased with the food and service. This time though there was just something missing which I’m really sad about.The service was lacking, took ages to take our order. The chicken korma we ordered was (and I feel bad saying this) absolutely VILE. I wish I’d read other reviews which say the same as we wouldn’t have ordered it. The chicken in the bhuna was massive and not what I’d expect in a curry. No spoons in the rice. Just little things but they all add up in my opinion.I also don’t like that they automatically add a service charge even for small groups of people!Hate to say it but will not be retuning again and will stick to my local Indian restaurant as the food is better and service exemplary.

Fantastic birthday meal with my girlfriend . A great choice on the menu from new style to the old classics . We had the scallops and rabbit for starters which were devine . Then went old school with a lamb biryani and King prawn vindoloo which were tasty . Great service from Jubair .It was our fourth visit and certainly won’t be our last .

What a wonderful Sunday evening meal at the Shampan!Our highlights were the Tandoori king prawns and lamb chops for starters, and the duck breast for main course. The tandoori king prawns were gigantic, excellently charcoaled and flavoured with garlic, spices and dill. The lamb chops were in a spiced marinade and cooked pink. The duck breast was cooked medium / pink, and to perfection. The duck was tender, had crispy skin, and seasoned to perfection. AMAZING. The lamb salli was also tasty and generous on the portion size.Staff were super friendly, attentive and helpful. Clearly a wonderful team. The restaurant is very modern and beautifully decorated. Can’t wait to come back again soon to the Spinning Wheel!

We decided to book this last minute on Saturday for the Sunday buffet, The venue is lovely and the waiters/maitre d' are attentive without being pushy. We had a bottle of house red, which was a pinot and very pleasant. The poppadoms come in basket and there are plenty of them, and you only pay £1 per person. The meal was £15 and worth every penny. The onion bhaji's were lovely and I really liked the chicken piazza (I think that was what it was called). My husband enjoyed the lamb. As they ran out of food they replenished it quickly. A good selection of desserts as well.

I vistied Shampan Westerham for NYE and had to write a complaint based on firstly the slow service,one of the waitors even spilt a tray of drinks, and the food still being served close to mid night. Not all courses were served due to the time it had taken to bring them out. We arrived at 8.30pm and stll not had our mains at 11pm. The restaurant are not taking any responsibilty and offered a £25 voucher as a gesture of good will which I find insulting. I have eaten here many times before and due this experience will not be returning. They do not value their customers and the level of customer service has dropped.

EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS PLACE IS AMAZING!The venue, the service, the food is all top draw.It is the best place to go for a curry (and much more). I have now been here 3 times and each time I go....I get something else as I want to try other dishes.The service is amazing and very friendly, I just wish I lived closer so I could go there more often.

We visited Shampan on Sunday. We were very well received by Hassan. The buffet lunch was very good and varied. I would say generous. The waiter who served us , Jubaer, was exceptionally pleasant and helpful. I would recommend them wholeheartedly

2019 NYE, we arrived At 7.30 pm a table of 8 , during the next 4 hrs we received Luke warm appetisers and soup and cold first course , by 11.40 we still had not received our main course ! On complaining this arrived at 11.50 and we sent it back uneaten as we would rather see the new year in with friends instead of eating sub standard food at this time . 41/2 hrs and we had no meal very disappointing. The entertainment was fantastic but shame we could not enjoy it as we were waiting for our food . Good idea but the restaurant was so incompetent they could not even serve our good in 41/2 hrs . All at the price of £75 a head . Shampan you need to look at your management team and shake them up as they are totally letting you down . The shame was the Luke warm food we did get Served was amazing

I went to the Shampan to celebrate NYE with friends, it was AMAZING. From start to finish it was an unbelievable night, the atmosphere was buzzing, the food was beautiful, the staff couldn’t do enough for you, the drinks were VERY strong which is what we like especially on NYE! It was just all round such a good night, I would go as far to say that it was the best NYE I have ever had. I can’t praise this restaurant enough. I have heard that there will be a valentines ball too (you will see me there). Thank you so much for an amazing night, it’s so nice to know there’s a decent place to go for food and a dance that’s right near my house! Result! .. thanks again and I’ll be seeing you very soon.

This restaurant doesn’t deliver for the money, the food is average at most, but prices itself as a different curry dinning experience. The dishes are expensive and are style over substance. Nearly £10 for a king prawn puri 3 middle size prawns a small bread cut into triangles and a rather tasteless dip, not worth the money. My main slow braised leg of lamb was sliced leg of lamb, reheated with a sauce which completely overpowered the meat, pilau rice on the side which was lacking any flavour. I hate going out for a meal and spoiling the evening by complaining, so decided to feedback to the manager my views on paying the bill £117 per couple including service and only beer. He said he would make a not of my name and next time would do something, whatever that means. I will not be frequenting this restaurant again and apart from decent decor, it’s not worth the money. My local indian the Indian Dinar offers far better quality of cooking and at half the price.

Well where do I start... we were a table of 6 celebrating 2 birthdays. Upon arrival we were told to sit in the lounge and order a drink as our table wasn't ready (I am sure they do this to make more money, as when we were taken to our table there was plenty of empty ones). We were placed at a table of 4 seats and told there is not a table in the lounge big enough for 6 as its first come first serve (fair enough), we then had to drag seats from other tables to make it enough for us to sit down. We were not ready to order when the waiter came over so asked for a couple of minutes, upon his return to take our order he sighed 'finally' - we had only been in the lounge about 6-8 minutes - catching up with friends as you do! Anyway, we were taken to our table (25 minutes late) where we were told our drinks would be bought over. We then waited a further 10/15 minutes for our drinks to come to our table - 2 espresso martinis, 3 cokes and 1 elder-flower and soda. Our poppadoms arrived in which one of them had a small piece of dust in it, when we told the waiter he dismissed it and gave it to another server, the poppadoms were not removed. It took another server to come over and remove the poppadoms and ask if we wanted a replacement. By this time, our food was arriving, I cannot fault the food, it was delicious, however one of our sides were forgotten and we had to wait about 4/5 minutes for it to arrive. We didn't want any desserts so asked for the bill. When we were given the bill I could see that we were charged for the poppadoms and £6.50 for a soda&elder-flower cordial! I then questioned this and I was told it was a mistake and for this they removed the cost of the drink. One of the servers then came over to the table asking me why I had not told them sooner, when I had only just got my bill. After some toing and throwing between managers/ servers we had the poppadoms, my drink and the service charge removed. There was two staff members in particular who were brilliant and couldn't be more apologetic but unfortunately the service from others squashed this. We were offered a round of drinks at the end of our meal but we just wanted to get out as this had quite frankly ruined my friends birthday'. Such a shame as it has great potential to be amazing but I will not be returning.

Kelly, Raju and all the staff ensured that our party of six were treated very well. Food was excellent!! My Chicken Madras curry was succulent. Overall, a brilliant dining experience was had by all!! We had lunch today at SHAMPAN. Lovely place. The menu was extensive. The food was well cooked and the portions generous. The staff were courteous and welcoming. In particular I would like to mention Hassan and Bobby who served us extremely well. We will definitely go back there again.

I was reluctant to leave this review as I visit this restaurant regularly and have always been very satisfied with the food. However this evening I decided to order a takeaway and found the food not to be of the normal high standard as a dining in customer. Firstly the chicken dishes were undercooked with chewy pieces of meat and the popadoms were inedible with a bitter taste which happens when old oil is reused and heated to a high temperature. Had I received this food whilst a customer dining in this establishment I would had returned the food but when you have done a 15 mile round trip it is not possible to return the food.

Had the unlimited Prosecco & Lager menu for £29.90. Food was excellent... Tiger Prawn Purée, Cauliflower & Broccoli Pakora were lovely. Lamb Jalfrezi and Chicken Tikka, succulent and tender. Attentive staff and refills of drinks readily available. Would definitely do it again. 😊

I cannot fault this restaurant, for 15 pounds a head on a Sunay afternoon buffet, the food was superb, everything, so fresh, so tasty and hot, that is not heat wise, the only thing that Iwish they would cook is small onion bhajis, that would just top it, it was packed there yesterday, hosting an Indian wedding aswell. Shampan, you have done it again, brilliant brillian, brilliant. There were 16 of us fron very small children to older adults. The whole rstaurant sang Happy Birthdat to my aunty.

Having eaten at their other locations - which tend to be smaller and tables tightly packed - we thought we would try Westerham. Reviews were good, and commonly praised the service but we found differently.

We went here on an impromptu early Friday evening get together. The service and food were both really good. Worth paying that bit extra.

My Partner and I visited this restaurant and the service was phenomenal. the head chef saddique, talked us through the menu and recommended dishes to us. when the food arrived I was extremely impressed by the presentation and more so the taste. the staff generally were all extremely helpful and very attentive. I will definitely be visiting again.

Having heard great things the wife and I took our eldest boy for an end of term treat. Stunning looking restaurant from the outside and does not disappoint once inside. Slick welcome and sat down with no fuss. Basket of poppadoms is a must and much better quality than our local Indian. The was good, really good but not as good as the premium you pay for this restaurant. £100 for three main courses, three vedge/rice, two diest cokes and a bottle of sparkling water.

We have been visiting shampan often for family celebrations and once again choose it for our sons first party. Absolutely loved it, everyone enjoyed the food, service and ambiance. The staff always go out of their way to make you feel welcomed and well treated. They were extremely accommodating. Food is delicious as always. Our party was a great success because of your entire team. Welldone and we will be coming back and also recommendating to everyone. The owner especially came and introduced himself and made sure if we were all enjoying. THANKYOU once again to the entire team.

Living so close, and yet we have never previously visited the Shampan. The service was particularly professional and attentive. We felt the price of drinks was definitely on the higher side and possibly we would have appreciated more guidance on the menu as we found ourselves having chosen dishes far 'hotter' than we would usually have selected. However, food was of high quality and well presented.

The second visit this week for us, Monday night we ate off the ‘30th anniversary celebration of the shampan’ menu & returned last night. Both nights the food was exceptional, both nights we were all made to feel incredibly welcome by Rupal & his team. Happy to make the 30 minute + journey, well worth it, looking forward to our next evening dining there.

Absolutely high class and spectacularly good food. The flavours were exquisite, along with the excellent attentive service we had a fabulous even. Delighted to be on their mailing list as we will certainly be returning again.

Food fantastic , service excellent! The staff really go out of their way to make you feel welcome and valued. The food is exquisite and far superior than your standard Indian Restaurant. Our Table was booked for 7pm which was a nice time because the restaurant and car park get very busy from 8pm. Spacious layout and room temperature perfect. They have a nice area to sit and have drinks before your meal. I highly recommend this restaurant!!

Had a lovely meal for my wife's birthday. Staff were attentive and the food was excellent. Highly recommended.
