Shahi Village in East Staffordshire

Booked a table at the shahi village for a a family birthday party. Service was amazing staff was very attentive and also gave us recommendations on what to order. The lamb Karahi was tender and the nan bread was also nice and crispy. Would definitely recommend best restaurant in burton and would visit again!

Came to Burton to visit our nephew/cousin and researched potential indians. Village had good reviews so chose. Service and welcome was very friendly. Restaurant was bright in central location. Food was fabulous. Sag aloo exceptional. We were a group of five and all said it was wonderful. Simple presentation and breads cooked and presented to perfection. Cooking would not be out of place in any top indian restaurant. Perhaps if more busy wonder whether could cope with number of front of house, but they appeared to be dealing with take aways also so perhaps not problem.

Having been to this restaurant before in it's many guises over the years we thought we'd try it after it reopened (again)....we won't be going back. The place has been redecorated, but not very well & has retained the old faux leather chairs which are peeling & repaired with black duct tape. There were 2 or 3 tables occupied when we arrived, but despite there being 3 staff it still took 20 mins for them to take our order. Having taken the order the waiter then advised us that there may be a little wait as they were very busy ! 40 mins later very average poppadoms & pickle tray arrived. 50 mins later the mains arrived. Bland tasteless, greasey, overpriced curries which weren't worth waiting for. The only positive was that they recognised the service was slow therefore deducted the charge for the poppadoms. There are a number of far better Indian restaurants to choose from in burton - go there instead !

Customer service was brilliant and the food was lovely. I would definitely go back and recommend others to visit.

First time visit to this restaurant and it certainly won't be the last. The mixed starters were divine, and the mains all excellent. Yes, it may be slightly more expensive than some other restaurants, but the quality of the food makes it worthwhile. Our new favourite restaurant in Burton.

First time we have visited this restaurant but it won't be the last, beautiful food, freshly prepared. The staff are extremely pleasant and attentive, nothing too much trouble. Got to be the best Indian restaurant in Burton. 5 stars!

Absolutely appalling. VERY slow service, we were the only 2 in the restaurant. They were semi busy with takeaways. Always a bad sign when the poppadoms are soggy. 20 minutes after ordering the onion bhaji appeared. And then.., 2 main courses. Not a hint of Indian / Asian cuisine. The sauce lookesmd, and tasted, like HP, on mine, and ketchup on my wife's shashlik. The vinegary taste on my "balti", disgusting. We won't be back.

We had a delicious meal , good choice of dishes all can be cooked to your preference on spice . Owners friendly and welcoming. Service good . Would go again and recommend to friends and family.

Shahi village is a cut above the average Indian restaurant. Family owned and operated and this shines through in their quality of service and food. Dad is the chef, and very good he is too!!! It is byo, so remember to bring a bottle of wine or a few beers. There is no charge for corkage and this is much appreciated. I had a great and memorable meal and will return when in Burton again. 🙏

This family run restaurant is a definite must visit in Burton, walked in to very clean, bright and inviting dining area to be greeted and seated by the lovely daughter of the family. The son took my order and both we very nice people and were very nice to speak to with the sense of enormous pride in what they have created. I ordered poppadum's and onion bhajis to start which were delightful, cant go wrong with a poppadum but the bhajis were a beautiful marriage of sweet and spicy. For my main i ordered a lamb naga which wasn't on menu but the very skilled hands of the father in the kitchen, with 30+ years as head chef, had no trouble in making one of the most amazing curry's I've had the pleasure of eating, with the garlic naan the meal went down and absolute treat and i was left extremely satisfied. upon request we were able to go meet the father in the kitchen who was nice enough to explain his process and his extensive history of his career in the industry which was a vey nice touch. all in all the whole experience was absolutely outstanding and I will 100% be visiting again in future and would also recommend this to all my friends and family.
