Shahbaaz in Salford

We have recently moved to the area, coming from Bradford I always have high expectations for an Indian and quite often leave disappointed - not this time! Well worth the visit - the Balti Exotic was sensational. Served by Aman

First time ordering wouldn’t order again food came in decent time chips were stale. Chicken tikka masala honestly way way to much coconut so over powering was really creamy had to mix the other curry with it to make it edible the butter chicken was swimming in grease chicken had hard bits.

Went for a meal for my partners birthday as a party of 9, staff were incredible and couldn’t do enough to help us, extremely welcoming from the start. The food was lovely and came within reasonable time for the amount of food we ordered I personally got the lamb rogan Josh and was worried the lamb would be quite fatty but it was perfect and no fat on it! My partner had the chicken tikka masala along with 2 other people on our table who all complimented how delicious it was, staff were back and forth taking drink orders and bringing stuff to our table, also accommodated children preparing them a meal they’d eat. Would definitely recommend and can’t wait to go back! Thankyou everyone!

We are locals and have been coming here for 29 years. It's a family owned/run restaurant, which makes it even more special. I'm happy to say family members have done a fantastic modern refurbishment, which is continuing throughout. It looks lovely, and they've done a really good job. The food is very good and we've had most items from the menu - all very tasty.

Tried ordering online,chose pay by card,wouldn't accept as message comes up prefers cash,ordered to pay cash,masala was worst we ever had,very powdery and bland,chipatta were delivered in plastic food bag which condersated making soggy obviously not as nice as should be,won't be ordering here again 😡

Fabulous meal in lovely surroundings, the recent refurb is lovely & has a more contemporary feel. Food is excellent, my husband gave the Lamb Achari a big thumbs up! The Chicken Jalfrezi was also delicious and the service was second to none as always. This was our 3rd visit but we shall definitely return. Party of 4 adults.

Great restaurant, food is always fabulous, I can recommend the Indian Railway dish they serve, it’s amazing. The restaurant has been updated and is looking stunning. There is a lovely bar area where you can have a drink before or after your meal which is very comfortable. The staff are all very helpful and knowledgeable about the dishes and will happily help you with your choice of meal should you require it. If you haven’t been I can strongly recommend Shahbaaz, you won’t be disappointed and you will receive a lovely warm welcome from the team.

This place is simply the best - lovely staff, delicious food, good portions. a wide range of drinks and decent prices. We rarely go anywhere else nowadays because whenever we do it’s never as good.

One of the best curries I have ever eaten. Service was great, we had the chicken chat and onion bhaji to start. Obviously poppadoms and chutney tray. And mains were a lamb korahi and the balti exotica. Couldn't not fault one thing spiced to perfection. I asked for the balti to be hot and it was the perfectly heat. Lovely staff can not beleive I haven't been here before. We will be returning with lots of our friends. Can't wait to try the other curries.

We had Indian Christmas Lunch, food and service was amazing as usual. Shahbaaz really looked after us and made our day special. We’ve been dining here 30 years and it’s the best 🏆

21st and 25th Dec 24 I felt I needed to add a comment after reading Diane Reilly's review. Our experience was so different, yet the same day. Perhaps time booked in made a difference!!! My husband had prawn balti - full of prawns. My traditional meal - lots of turkey, veg just beautiful, roasters to perfection. Sorry your exp different than our!! Visited on 21st for my son's birthday - he was visiting from France. He looks forward to an Indian meal - mixed tandori. We had a lovely time. All the food was absolutely scrumptious. Then we went for Christmas lunch. My 97 year old mum thought that the traditional turkey with all the trimmings was cooked to perfection (and she is fussy!). My husband, daughter and grandchildren thoroughly enjoyed Indian food. We all had a wonderful food experience. The staff were so attentive. The new decor is stunning - well done to you all at the Shahbaaz! We will definitely be returning 2025.

We’ve been coming here for over 30 years as a family. Indian meals and Christmas Day. Cannot fault, the team are brilliant. My parents found this place in around 1990 , it’s now a family tradition to come for Christmas lunch, brings us all back together. And it’s our favourite Indian restaurant. Fantastic food, quick and attentive service. Extremely welcoming , and the staff have been there years. They always remember us and make every meal wonderful. Great at recommending dishes and will always cater for changes to the dish. Yesterday (Christmas day) did not disappoint, and the new interior is beautiful. Thank you all for a wonderful day as always.

Myself, husband and son had xmas lunch here 25/12/24. We have visited the restaurant on many occasions and the food and portions have been fabulous but for some reason today was a let down, so I'm going to categories the event. Courtesy of staff. From the week leading up when a staff member rang and asked if it would be a problem if we had to wait for our allocated time due to the diners before taking a little longer to eat.☆☆☆☆☆ Atmosphere. Great atmosphere, but restaurant was so hot and very uncomfortable as there was so many tables crammed in☆☆☆ Food. In my opinion not upto usual standard. On the xmas menu you only had a choice of either rice or naan bread not both. If you wanted chips they were extra. Quite a few dishes were extra to the set price of £44.85 per head. I know this price is quite reasonable to other establishments, but it depends on the quality and quantity as well. My son had prawn balti and it was "find the prawn ". The portion sizes were smaller than usual (maybe this was to make you pay for the extra portions) I had the traditional xmas dinner. Again a very small portion. Turkey, roast potatoes, green beans, carrots, sprouts, stuffing ball. Vegetables were frozen as were the stuffing balls. (Which i left as l don't like frozen veg)Roast potatoes, I could only eat the tops as the bottoms were burnt solid. The gravy was nice. Xmas pudding came on a small silver platter and it was a child's portion. I was given a teaspoon to eat it , that shows the size. ☆☆ When we have dined at shabaz in the past, there's always been enough food to take a doggy bag home, not xmas day ☆☆ Overall it was a pleasant few hours, but a little disappointed with the food, as we were so looking forward to a different xmas day experience. We won't be doing it 2025 SORRY SHABAZ

It was the second Christmas we’ve spent there and the service and food is exceptional. I would highly recommend it.

Great meal and atmosphere as always, went on Christmas Eve and I have to say I am IN LOVE with the new updated modern decor it really gave the overall restaurant an extra level of class. Already booked in for next year as this will be our new annual spot!! Service was top notch from start to finish.

Yesterday 3 of us celebrated a birthday and the food was absolutely lovely, and the staff friendly and attentive. The restaurant is in the middle of a makeover and the new decor is bright, fresh and modern. We'll definitely be going back!

Absolutely Fantastic! I recently visited Shahbaaz Indian Restaurant in Worsley, and it was an incredible dining experience from start to finish. The ambiance was warm and welcoming, with a great atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. The staff were friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable, ensuring our meal was perfect. The food was simply outstanding! Every dish was bursting with flavor – from the tender, perfectly spiced curries to the fluffy, aromatic rice and freshly baked naan. The variety on the menu was impressive, and it’s clear they use the highest quality ingredients. I especially recommend the desi curry and the lamb biryani – both were exceptional! My go to is a Chicken Tikka Khari, I'm in every week once or twice. I've tried many places in Worsley but they are the best quality and service. Give them a go.

Best Indian by far in Worsley. Local family run business who go above and beyond to make your dinning experience an occasion to remember. Excellent service both eating in and taking away. Always friendly and service with a smile.

I have been coming here for 30 years, best fresh curry in Worsley, they have many options. Price wise they are amazing, not like some Indians that charge extortion prices. They do delivery as well.

Went in Friday and Saturday, new decor and lighting sets the mood for great food and drinks with friends and family, food cooked to your liking, been going since it opened and enjoyed every meal.

I am very unsatisfied with my order. I've ordered butter chicken, chips and naan through delivery. The butterchicken is not the butterchicken u think it is. It looks like sick. Although naan is good, after the visual of butterchicken and taste of how sweet it is, I just lost appetite. Plus, it took too long to deliver.

Reviews seemed really good so we have just placed an order to which everything got thrown away! The shashlik smelt and tasted vinegary ... To which was obviously gone off roasted veg... Maybe even the chicken. The chips and nan bread was solid and cold. The chicken sag tasted like the chicken was a couple of days old... Not fresh at all. Very disappointed and will never order from here again. Vile is the word I'm looking for and I wouldn't even give it to a homeless person

Excellent food as always. It's been a while since we had a night out and this was our first pick for food. Staff are polite and attentive and I would highly recommend the Banjara Kebab starter but to be honest, everything is good.

Really gutted the food just wasn't what we expected from the reviews. Not sure if this is a takeaway issue? Maybe the food is fresher in the restaurant? The curry I ordered was so greasy, you could see the oil pooling and the texture was slippery and really unpleasant. The layer of spice and herbs just wasn't there like you would expect from authentic Indian cuisine. Never a fan of chips but they were awful, wrinkly, no potato content, greasy and cold. The chicken was 50/50, some breast meat but some thigh meat mixed in which I just wouldn't expect in the dish I ordered. The lamb was also inconsistent, some pieces tender but others chewy. Credit where it's due the seekh were lovely and soft and very tasty. The tikka masala was the strangest colour I've ever seen, not sure why? If ordering takeaway I would stick to the kebab in naan, chicken and seekh not lamb. Sadly the free onion bhajis were so dry, maybe make them smaller and serve 4 instead of 2 large dry ones. On the plus side delivery was on point and the driver was very polite.

Food is excellent if you can get order to work on website, they must have lost ££££ from me alone as website freezes and won't allow you to complete order, also the free stuff they advertise for registered customers doesn't happen.

Christmas Dinner Most of my family had Indian food, which was terrific as usual. My 96 year old mum and I had traditional, which we really enjoyed. We had a great time. The staff as always were very attentive. The atmosphere was A1. Price was fabulous. No stress, just get yourself ready and go!

We worsened a takeaway for a special family gathering for Xmas eve. I knew it was going to be busy but it was 2 hours late I kept calling for an update and was told 15 minutes then 6 minutes no food arrived. I was then told it was being cooked It arrived cold poor quality 3 piers of chicken swimming in sauce and uneaten really poor

The food was palatable at best and that is being generous. Both massala and butter chicken tasted like korma. The garlic chapati was covered in ghee and hadn't seen a piece of garlic in its life. Delivery driver was pleasant and professional. We won't be ordering from here again. Gross.

Not been here for a few years but won a raffle prize at Think Pink and Sparkle cancer charity kindly donated by Shabaz. We could not fault the presentation, service and best of all the meals were delicious. Thanks for a great evening, we will return.

We have travelled all around the country and have never had Indian food as good as this. It was our local for 29 years & we were offered fantastic food & service every week. We have moved now & the Shahbaaz is the only thing we miss as there is nowhere local that comes anywhere close to their standards! Never let us down.

Hi. I’ve been going to this restaurant for 20 years plus but lately I don’t know if the chef has changed but the food has taken a tumble. My takeaway last night was awful I keep giving it a chance but there’s a time when you have to go elsewhere. So sorry to post this .

The food was really bad. The worst Chicken Tandoori Masala I ever had( very sweet 🤮and chicken was chewy). Me and my partner got a stomachache, and I had a heavy chest (happens when I eat bad quality food) never coming back
