The seven wells is a delightful place to visit the staff are really nice and the food is delicious I’ve been there about 10 time and every time it has been good

Always a favourite of mine to visit. It was busy which was to be expected on a bank holiday but didn't stop me enjoying the atmosphere , service and food. I had a steak sandwich and hubby had the burger. Classics which did not disappoint. Then we enjoyed sitting outside with a drink whilst lunch settled. Great place, we will be back

Bank Holiday weekend, real ale and Al fresco dining, wait on food seemed to exceed the time given. Halloumi skewer good value and grains salad bigger than expected. Lovely side garden for kids to play.

Updated review 5th May. I'm guessing there has been a change in management since the service here today is abysmal! --- Incredibly amazing service from Abi - we had such a great time. Food was delicious too! Will definitely be back again soon - thank you :)

Terrible food, service and everything. Waited 50 mins for steak and come cold. Kids meals came out 20 mins b4 the steak. Cutlery was dirty. Avoid at all costs. Needs closing down. Joke ov a pub

The Sunday roast is getting better.

Finlay made our visit excellent, not only with the good service and good food but also because he remembered our last visit and how I liked something serving. He made my night!

Recently visited with my family to celebrate my Dad’s birthday and would highly recommend! Excellent, friendly service from Fran, Sarah, Chelsea, and the rest of the front of house team! Burgers and steaks all looked and tasted amazing - the ultimate burger is a must try! Can’t wait to come back!

Went in on a Tuesday afternoon with the 2-for-1 deal on drinks, with a good selection to choose from. We had a sirloin and a mixed grill and it was bang on. Served by Helena on the bar, with Jake serving the food, 10/10 service, will definitely be returning 👍

Avoid!!!!! Been coming here for a couple of years now for mothers day fathers day birthdays etc eatch time booking a table of 8 at. Friday 11th of April we nipped down around 6ish 2 see if we could get a quick table of 7 ( ok was last minute) we was told that food was going 2 be a 40 minute wait witch was fair enough being a Friday tea time and last minute you could understand it so myself my mrs and kids selected a bench outside as it was lovely and warm an hour later I went 2 check on how long the food would be to be ment with the barmaid rolling her eyes saying it will be another 10 minutes bearing in mind we had been outside waiting nearly an hour... another 30 minutes went by and I approached the same barmaid asking her can we come and sit inside as my kids was getting cold as it was nearly 8pm by then ( been there since half 6ish ) she said not got any tables for 7 so have a look in the bar her attitude stank! .. so I had a look there wasn't any tables big enough for us.. so we had 2 continue 2 sit outside turning blue 10 minutes went by and i then had enough and approached the bar asking if our food isn't with us in 5 minutes then will have our money back .. funny enough our food was with us within 2 minutes.. so nearly a 2 hour wait when we was 1st told food was only a 40 minute wait.. our food my word what can I say if you like rock hard cold chips stale cob (burger) then its perfect then whilst eating the front doors were shut basically leaving us out side in the dark like some vermin! No 1 came to see if everything was OK & we was happy with the food ... definitely won't be returning again not having my kids treat like that definitely not spending my money here again! .. not a snob at all but just wanted me food in a reasonable time and to a reasonable standard & me kids not to be freezing outside waiting don't no if it was that I was still in my work stuff and wasn't smartly dressed but was unbelievable poor!.......... In your reply go and check your records i ordered 3 cokes 3 fruit shoots 1 carling with our food... I ordered 1 carling on my own at 6pm.. .. but no apologise and left outside.. nah complaint has been made to green king HQ!

Come here regularly! The staff and the manager are so friendly and helpful and will always make you feel welcome. They have a great outdoor seating area where you can have food and drinks plus loads of indoor seating weather it be in the dining area or the more casual bar area the service never changes no matter where you are sat! The menu has options for everyone I would definitely recommend coming!!

The other day I popped in was warmly welcome by a very smart young lady. The place is very welcome and spoilt for choice of what to eat and drink. Creamy garlic mushrooms to die for and sirloin hit the spot. Well what else can I say but well done team . Very not been before check it out for yourselves

Nice atmosphere really nice food and really polite

I would like to say I have been using this restaurant for quite a long time now and up to now I have never had a problem. However this evening an error was made with an order we had placed, a woman came over (im gathering the manager/landlady) and said that the food that had arrived to our table was our problem for the wrong order but she would change it if we wanted her to.She did not have to make a song and dance about it but did anyway, we hadn't. We spend a lot of money in the seven wells, twice weekly. She has put me off going back in there to be honest. The staff I usually deal with are very pleasant, but I feel she was pretty rude and to be honest I don't usually see her serving.

Lovely atmosphere and fantastic food. Myself, partner and children were looked after by the amazing waitress El. She was extremely friendly, professional and couldn't do enough for us. We will definitely be returning, thankyou 😊

Very over cooked poor portions had a nacho sharer for two and was not even for one. Gone down hill this place has. Won’t be coming back.

We as a family of 4 have been to this pub multiple times and every time, we have extremely enjoyed the meals! Very Reasonably priced and we go back regularly.

Very disappointing Mothers Day meal with inedible food. Unfortunately this is the second time recently that we have had an issue with for at the Seven Wells. Although the management was very understanding and explained the issues. Might be worth a change of supplier!

The food was reasonably priced and tasted fantastic, and a good selection of lagers and beers all reasonably priced, the staff are all helpful and polite. I will be visiting this pub again 😀

We visited The Seven Wells in Derby today with our family for lunch. Dalton looked after us, he was very friendly and helpful. He provided us with top service. In fact , all the staff are very friendly and make you feel welcome.

Came in for a quick bite and was met with the lovely Jake who was very attentive and created an enjoyable experience. Food was great.

Good food warm plates , very nicee meals l had filling steak sandwich.More than suffbicient My grandson and daughter were also pleased .

Tried the 2 for £20 menu this week, what a bargain! Deli steak and ale pie and a proper portion, not your stingey offer portions, plus a drink in the price, what’s not to like.. Sarah, Fran, James and the staff always have a warm welcome , we love it. Always great food but what is particularly good is the great range of cask ales with regular guests. Mondays are a winner as there are certain discounted beers plus ytou can use your CAMRA discount-win win! Staff are always fab and the place has a lovely atmosphere. Go try it!

It was delicious food and a lovely atmosphere. For saying we walked in on a Friday night with no reservations, we were seated immediately and looked after by the friendly staff with no fuss. Thank you for a lovely evening.

I frequently use the establishment as a local watering hole. The staff are very understanding 👏 friendly atmosphere and very good staff 👍 Up the Wells.

Went there for lunch. Staff very pleasant. Food looked good but unfortunately all the cooked food was only warm and not hot. I would say only average for a pub meal. Otherwise nice place to visit.

Second visit, first time was absolutely excellent, great service, great food... second visit less so, service still good but food was "ok" at best. Squid starter was over cooked & tough, main of Salmon and baby new potatoes was fine in respect of the fish but the potatoes resembled small standard whites and tasted like they had been hanging around for a while. We pointed out the over cooked squid but no reduction on the bill or any particular interest shown. We may give it one more chance, yet to decide.

The service was quick, the atmosphere was lively but not too crowded or overwhelming… the food was tasty, I had the grilled chicken burger with rosemary fries which were amazing. Highly recommend.

It’s good that you can choose waitress service in the left side restaurant or a bar style restaurant to the right. Sarah , Fran and James behind the bar very relaxed and friendly

We recently visited the Greene King Pub over the past two weekends and had a varied experience with the food. However, we were thoroughly impressed by the exceptional professionalism, empathy, and service provided by James and Sarah. James demonstrated a brilliant attitude and interacted with us wonderfully, even during busy times. Sarah's experience and outstanding knowledge of customer service were evident throughout our visits. Both James and Sarah are incredibly hardworking and hands-on, which is a true credit to Greene King. While our rating for the food reflects some inconsistency, the remarkable service from James and Sarah made our visits memorable.

Booked the private family dining room for my mums 60th and it was great. A nice spacious room for us and the kids. Clean and we were able to decorate. The team serving us were friendly and the food was delicious. Really happy

Had a wonderful 2 course meal here. The food was very good and the service was beyond what I expected. Cody, who served me was very professional in making sure I had everything I needed and went the extra mile.

We arrived 13 people deep ,including kids, about an hour before we should have - due to a Severn Trent disaster. They still let us use the upper level for an hour before serving good food.

Nice Pub came early and food came quickly

Staff were very welcoming and engaging as soon as we walked in. Service was quick despite it being Christmas Day and fully booked. Food quality was excellent & choice of drinks, including the non alcoholic cocktails was great. Fantastic atmosphere throughout. Made our day. Thank you.

The Christmas Day lunch was very good. I was surprised that the greeter knew my name on arrival and took us to the table. It was impressive to see a printed and attractive menu card headed with my name and time of booking, plus a list of the names in my party with the choices for each course clearly indicated. All three courses arrived at just the right speed and were presented at the appropriate temperature. The servers were attentive, checking on our satisfaction and bringing drinks as required. The whole environment was warm and comfortable and well presented.

Very pleasant environment and friendly staff but the food was bland & overcooked.

Edit: Have just been down to the Seven Wells With my 2 boys for breakfast with Santa, had a really great time the boys loved the elves and the grinch the breakfast was amazing too. Popped in for a spot of lunch, was greeted by Jake, James and Fran. Sarah took our order and she was very attentive. The service was quick and the meal was brilliant. Would highly recommend.

Again we have a wonderful experience and food was spot on. The pub was busy but that did not take away from the quality. I quite frankly don't know how management and staff cope at this time of year. Another top job team wells!! Edit... Another outstanding visit! Food hot and fast service. Footy atmosphere brilliant! Come here time and time again and never disappointed. What a stunning pub! Very family friendly and clean!! Food incredible! Large portions andvery quick service. Couldn't ask for anything more. Will definitely revisit. Well done Seven Wells!!! What pubs should be like.

We went to the Seven Wells on Monday 16th December for a quiet staff meal. Since it was almost Christmas we thought we'd be able to get a Christmassy meal but sadly these were only available if pre-ordered (hence four not five stars - it's Christmas afterall). The place was lovely. The atmosphere was quiet but then it was early so I didn't expect it to be buzzing. Food was served in good time and was tasty. I had the steak and ale pie which was full and lots of gravy with it. My colleague had the chicken skewers and was beaten by the amount of food. Other colleagues had the tacos which looked amazing. Service was wonderful. Finlay, our server, was very polite, professional and calm when taking our order - there were 9 of us and we kept talking over one another and interjecting. He stayed very calm and repeated the order back at the end. His return to the table with food was prompt and he knew, mostly, who had ordered what and took a second drinks order in good time. A great night had would very much recommend again.

Eating out is hard when your doing carnivore diet but I think I found my new favourite place!!

We had a work Christmas lunch. We pre-ordered our food & it was out on the table minutes after we arrived. The food was delicious. The service was excellent.

Popped in for lunch we had the chicken sharing platter as a meal and it was absolutely beautiful well cooked and well presented. Our table waiter Jake was also really nice. Would definitely recommend to others.

We visited Seven Wells on Nov 18th to have lunch from the Festive Menu, which we had pre-booked. Our server Helena was friendly, helpful and welcoming. Our food, included turkey dinner, beyond burger and turkey and ham pie and was delicious. The triple chocolate brownie for dessert was heavenly! We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience with excellent service snd tasty food. We will keep returning to Seven Wells for sure.

Chose a carvery. Yorkshire pudding was so burnt it was like charcoal. Can’t understand why they would put them on the plate and think it was acceptable! Carrots were so floppy. Not a lot on the plate at all and certainly not worth the price they were asking.

Hosted my Dads 60th here in the small private section, the staff here were lovely, friendly and accomodating throughout and made the experience stress free! Turned out to be beautiful celebration, highly recommended! Thank you all so much!

Me and my partner have only been here a handful of times. It’s always been pretty decent until Sunday just gone. We got seated in an area that was quite cold. So we asked to move to a booth. Our drinks order got taken to our previous table. Within 25-30 minutes later our ordered was still not taken. A hour later the food was hideous how they even served it to us was beyond us. Starters was well over done certainly won’t be attending again. Unfortunately.

Dropped in to have a lunch to celibrate our wedding anniversary, we both decided to have a Sunday roast, meal arrived and looked very nice, but veg was cold, yorkshire pudding was cold and so was the meat, Pork and Turkey roasts. The meal description stated there would be sausage meat stuffing on the plate this was missing, it also stated the the greens would be buttered and the roast carrots would be maplle flavoured not sure about either of these statements. My Turkey had a strange BBQ or smoked taste, did not like this. Waitress asked us if we wanted any sauces, I asked for Cranberry this never arrived. Surely there are temperatures that food should be 'held' at and served at? No staff came over to us at any point and asked 'how are your meals' so decided to post this review.

Staff friendly but we experienced a very slow wait for our meals. We got served our meals after others had arrived and ordered after us. When it arrived we found the food average. My daughter's garlic bread was burnt, Good gluten free options but found the food average at best. I had the chicken burger, chips were rock hard and coleslaw didn't taste nice. Fortunately kids are free due to half term deal so was a cheap meal but I feel we paid for what we got. Wouldn't go back unfortunately.

Just had two Sunday roasts, one Turkey one Pork, meals looked nice, but veg was cold and so was the Yorkshire pudding, says buttered greens, questionable if they have seen any butter, no sausage meat stuffing, meat warm. Waitress asked if we would like any sauces I asked for Cranberry, she never came back to us. My Turkey had a smoked or BBQ taste. Yes we did eat most of it, no one came and asked 'how are you meals' so posting coments here.

I like seven wells, family atmosphere, staff are nice and friendly, food is good quality.

Fantastic food and fantastic service. We took advantage of a burger and beer offer for £12 which was amazing value for money. The food came in great time, was all hot and tasted great. We will be going back again soon to try out the rest of the menu.

Our go to pub. Offering good food at a good price. Eating out now days is expensive, however, this is an easy decision. Whether it's burgers, or grill, we always enjoy our meal here and the service is as great as the food.

The stench of urine from the men’s urinals was so overpowering and even noticeable in the restaurant itself. It does question the pubs cleanliness.
