Whilst on business , I had a large salad bowl from the outlet on the side near to the Starbucks and a chicken schnitzel in a roll from their outlet on the other side of the road. All very fresh and lovely food - Try it

I was so glad to find this place. I was a little dubious as to if it had closed down as there’s no website currently and social media activity was from a long time back. The food was so fresh and delicious, with plenty of vegan options. I find it difficult to find fresh, healthy wholefood lunches in town so this will be my new go to for sure! The only niggle is that for the price, the boxes aren’t that big (especially the small) however, I had a medium and was comfortably full.

Found this place when looking for a quick lunch in the city centre - got one of their mixed salad bowls. Makes my mouth water just thinking about it. The salads are varied, filling and nutritious. Seating is limited but there are plenty of benches in the nearby square which is quiet and green.

I've been coming here well over a year now, and it's my favourite lunch spot. Sandwiches are decent, but the salad bar is the highlight. The Falafel is especially brilliant. Friendly staff, although it can get a bit chaotic/confusing when it's busy.

Working in Leeds, we are blessed with plenty of choice for lunch. If you're not going to a restaurant, and don't want fast food, then its either coffee shop sandwiches, or your supermarket meal deals. For just a little more, you get a great choice of sandwiches and salads here - with daily specials. You'll pay a pound or so more, but as the old saying goes - you get what you pay for. Recommended!!

I was introduced to Sesame by a colleague and have since been back again and again. The salad box has been my go to every time, the salad selection is superb and my goodness the Falafel is the best I have EVER eaten! Really good value for money, very friendly staff, and most importantly truly delicious food. Highly recommend.

I don’t normally leave reviews, but felt I should do on this occasion. I popped in for the first time this morning after doing some work round the corner. As I walked past, it was the smell of fresh food that got me in. I went for the special (every Thursday I’m told), or home made Chicken Schnitzel sandwich (with cheese, lettuce and geek hubs) - so glad I chose that as it was delicious. Unfortunately, there were a number of things on the menu I wanted to try but I’ll need to go back again. The fresh home made lasagne looked very appetising too! Staff were lovely too. It’s a couple of mins walk from Trinity, so if you fancy a healthy bite to eat, give it a go. Thank you and see you next time!

I didn't actually plan on coming here, after a gap of few years working out of Leeds I decided to visit one of my old lunchtime haunts but it wasn't like I remembered and there was hardly any food left (about 1pm on a lunchtime) so I ventured across the road to Sesame which had a long queue and loads of fresh food on show. I opted for a veggie salad box - the lady serving filled the box to the brim with lots of lovely food - it was delicious. I'm glad he place I originally fancied was so good as I'll now be making Sesame a new regular haunt.

I'm writing this after 3 recent visits. On all 3 visits I opted for the sald bar, though today the lasagne looked and smelled very tempting. The medium box is currently about £4.70 and is just right for me. The choices are great, though I've gone for roughly the same ones every time because they work so well. What I really love is when you get to the end and you add in an amazing felafel, houmous, tzatziki, olives and brie. I have no idea how all this works so well together in a box with a mix of noodles, salads and the other stuff I mentioned but it does and I hope they don't change anything! The staff are really friendly and seem to be passionate about what they are doing and this shows in the food prepared. The only thing to be mindful of is that the minimum spend on card is £5 which seems a bit outdated these days so I always end up buying a packet of crisps to go over that figure, but this is a minor gripe and I can definitely thoroughly recommend.

I usually grab some lunch or breakfast from here if i've not had chance to put something together the night before. Always encouraging to see staff making colourful and fresh dishes from scratch when i go in on a morning. Sausage baps are great, really lovely soft buns and really tasty sausages, not the usualy mass produced ones made with the dreaded "pink slime".

Popped in a couple of times, good place to grab a quiet coffee either side of the lunch rush. The roll I had (chicken schnitzel special on a Tuesday) had beautiful meat filling, but with the salad mix being better suited to a salad bowl, I didn't really enjoy the food that much - would have preferred a more traditional salad accompaniments to the chicken and cheese. Very busy during lunch time, and wasn't easy to work out the ordering / pick up system.

Great salad bar selections - imaginative and good to eat! The broccoli and chilli is great as is the pesto pasta - lots of fresh salad ingredients too. The Moroccan chicken soup is nice and the granary rolls are a great accompaniment. Good selection of up market crisps and pelligrino carbonated soft drinks. Staff are efficient.

A new favourite and it is very busy at peak times but service is pretty swift. Queuing system can be a little confusing at first but bear with it.Plenty of choice on the salad bar but the servers can be a but skinny with portions of each so if you don't want a little of everything, make sure you are clear. Falafel is very dry but tasty. Give it a try for a healthy lunch.

I stop by Sesame every couple of weeks for my favourite salad in Leeds. A medium box gives you five or six options, falafel, tzatziki, (sometimes) croutons, dressing and a meat, fish or cheese. The salad mixes are always fresh and delicious with fourteen or so different items to choose from. I recommend the slightly spicy noodles and teriyaki salmon which make regular appearances.Service is quite fast although don't be surprised to find a short queue out of the door at lunchtime.

I used to love Sesame, absolutely hands down it was one of the best little Cafe's in Leeds. Recently though the portions have become smaller and smaller, the fillings in the sandwiches are a joke and today I got a small salad for £3.50. The box isn't even full and it is so disappointing. I think the staff there need training on portion size as they are going to lose more and more custom by going down the road of skimping on customer's food. I'm going off this little place every day.

I was going to consider the posh coffee/cake shop up the road but when I saw Fish Finger Sandwich on the board outside it made me smile & I went in. Lots of great food waiting for the lunch crowd that were not far behind me. Good coffee and very impressive service. Great value.

I am fortunate enough to work closet to Sesame and visit once a week usually to buy my lunch. Fishfinger Friday being my favourite day to go there. It is always busy but the friendly staff seem to be able to get people in and out at some speed. My first time back in Leeds after about 5 years, I am constantly astounded by how the food has evolved in quality and variety since then. Now this is a town you can finally eat in! Tons of cosy cafes, bistroey places, bars and gastropubs have lifted their game and Sesame is showing just that. While tempted by a wide variety from soup to lasagna, we opted for salmon cucumber sushi rolls and a medium salad made up of rocket, spinach/feta, buckwheat noodles, chickpeas, killer coleslaw, tomatoes from the array at the buffet, topped with (too dry, one of the few niggling points) felafals and juicy chicken - an ample feast for 2 people for about 9 pounds including a drink. Great fresh food, terrific caring service. The only other thing besides the felafal that needs work is to offer some basic vinaigrette as a salad dressling option. The seating opportunities are limited but what could be nicer with this sort of weather, to take the food and stroll across to the park, as so many do? Nice introduction to the "new" Leeds food culture, I am impressed!

I tried Sesame when they first opened as a replacement for the defunct Sisushi. I wasn't impressed then, over-priced and the noodles were tasteless. I tried again today, giving them a second chance. The inside had been reorganised making even less space, chaotic queuing/service and music too loud that everyone seemed to struggle to hear each other when giving orders.I ordered spicy chicken ramen noodles at the princely sum of £3.50 for small, and was bitterly disappointed. The broth looked appetising but was utterly tasteless, they appear to only have one broth and make it spicy by upending half a pot of dried chilli flakes into it. By the time i got to my desk it was practically inedible, the chilli flakes kept getting stuck at the back of my throat making me choke and I'm only just getting feeling back in my lips.I can only assume they have never tasted real ramen before if they think that is acceptable.I guess since it's getting good reviews they must be doing other things right but I won't be going back to give them another chance.

I ordered some sushi from sesame via the just eat web site. I received an email confirming my order and the delivery time and date. 25 minutes later, I get a telephone call telling me that they are going to have to cancel my order! It meant I was going to have to make another order somewhere else and wait another 25 minutes which would have been too late to eat. I'm sure that their offer of a discount next time seemed reasonable to them. However, it was not reasonable to me and there won't be a next time.

Went for a lunch here on a drizzly Wednesday lunch, after having had it recommended. Whilst queuing I noticed a huge bag of rice left in the doorway, blocking the door. Being vegetarian, the inside looked hopeful, kind of boho chic and hippy-ish. Ordered a roasted haloumi and salsa. When it was handed to me on the plate, it looked very small and unassuming. When eating it I noticed it was lacking virtually all the haloumi, making it basically bread with a lot of balsamic vinegar (not sure where the salsa was) and a bit of salad. For over £3. Not great. Not much space inside to sit and eat. Staff were polite but didn't didn't look very professional, maybe a smart uniform would look better. Won't be going back.

Tried this place for the first time last week at a lunch time.Sushi was great although I got a beef noodle soup at roughly £4 which truthfully was inedible - tasted of water and the beef was wrapped in some plastic like substance. Maybe I ordered wrongly and should have tried something else but in my opinion really wasn't a great product. The veggie sushi was very nice though.

This place is promising, a fun fresh lunchtime place to get more than your average sandwiches. I have to say, I've only been once (a few months after it first opened) but not been again. I chose the beef wonton noodle soup, since it got a good review in Leeds Citylife newspaper. (oliver review). The lady was very pleasant and service was great, when I ate it was very disappointed. The soup was very bland, no taste at all and swimming in oil. The beef wonton had been previously deep fried then put in this noodle soup, and, I'm afraid as a connoisseur of noodles soup, is a bad idea, the result being a soggy mess of wonton that contributed to the oil, the beef filling itself provided the only flavour but was a tiny ball packed so tightly that it also ruined and contributed to the nasty texture of it all. Noodles were ok but not really enough, as I ended up not eating the soggy wonton, only eating the noodles and having none of the soup.Did the owner taste it before putting it on the menu? Having said this, I haven't tried anything else, and they do offer things like sushi, pots of healthy endaname beans etc. I will endeavour to try this place again in the near future and post further review if it's better!

Popped in here on our way back from Manchester (to Newcastle) as I was craving something spicy. Food was good, especially the wok fried greens and firecracker tofu. They do let you know that all the food will come out as it's ready rather than starters then mains and while normally I don't mind this, my partner's main came out about 8 minutes before mine, by which time he was almost done. And one of our small plates (bao buns) arrived when we'd both pretty much finished everything. Made it kind of a disjointed meal. The waitress also started to take some of our empty plates away while I was still eating which is a bit of a peeve of mine, but just personal preference.
