Wonderful wholesome food, great service, and a lovely bar upstairs! Karaoke rooms are super fun too. Never had a bad experience at House of Fu.

Been meaning to review this place for ages, as we visited for dinner on Valentines day and had an excellent experience! I have slightly complicated dietary requirements, which I emailed about in advance, and they did a fantastic job at catering to them! In fact, I'd go as far as to say it's one of the best experiences of eating out in several years since I developed a health condition which meant I had to cut multiple foods out of my diet. They made me feel incredibly welcome and not only did they not make me feel like an inconvenience at all, they actually implied I was a treat to the chef for giving them an interesting challenge! Which also seemed to me to be a sign of a good chef who relishes the opportunity to be creative. The service was good overall despite it being a very busy night. The food was all really delicious and satisfying, and we shared a really nice bottle of sake with the meal too. I had a specially adapted chicken rice bowl, with miso soup (not usually on the menu, although a couple of their ramens contain miso) and an interesting whipped tofu starter. My husband had the vegetarian Tofu "Tonkotsu" ramen, he's been a few times before and has tried several different vegetarian dishes which he says have all been really good. We also visited their bar upstairs which has a really nice vibe, as well as a very good drinks selection.

The food was good. A few dishes were slightly bland, but the atmosphere was great. It's worth a visit.

Food is delicious, service not so great. The waitress flirted with my husband right in front of me. It is a good place to have something nice to eat but not for a date. Some of the staff need customer service training. Certainly put me off from going back.

Such a cute little place for food and pictures! The prices are so good for the amount you get - I usually eat loads of food and I literally had to take half of my ramen home. Can't complain with such big portions and such yummy tasting food. Lots of flavour. Love the cocktail and mocktail menu! The ambience and music was so nice also, the toilets had super nice lights and a huge mirror for pictures. to top it off there was karaoke upstairs! Probably one of my favourite nights out for a while.

10/10 always. The staff, food and atmosphere are perfect. One of the best restaurants in Leeds.

Let's me start with the good. The fried cauliflower starter was absolutely delicious and the portion was generous. Easily the best restaurant cauliflower I had in a very long time. Absolutely banging. My friend had ramen(not sure which one tbh, one with tofu) and that was also delicious. Maybe not the best ever but definitely worth the price and good enough to come back again. I also got a rice dish called Spicy Tofu and this was just not it man.. first time ever I complained about food in a restaurant! This was just beyond bland, sunk in grease and rather spicy, which was the smallest offense since it's literally called spicy tofu. That wasn't the problem, it was the bland non existent flavour. I was trying to catch some of the peanut or the lemongrass(I think) but it was just bland and oily. Very bad meal. THAT BEING SAID, the staff were quickly to apologize, and took it off from our bill. Big up to the waitress (+manager). I will make sure to stop by next time I'm in town to try another dish, hopefully will be able to give 5 stars, and also, to get that delicious cauliflower again. Overall I would recommend this place, friendly staff and great food, just maybe, don't get the spicy tofu lol.

We loved this. Beautiful vegan choices, to decedent broths. Gyoza was spot on and the staff were lovely even promptly and apologetic fixing a wrong order. I'll be back.

We managed to get in on a busy Saturday night by sitting at the stools at the bar :) the chicken starter was nice but expensive, around £8. We ordered the salmon Californian bowl and the classic tonkotsu ramen. The ramen was good however I don’t think I would order the Californian bowl again, as I can make that at home however don’t really make ramen at home. Next time I go I’d like to explore the ramen!!

Tried this on a whim. Ramen was excellent, staff were great and friendly and clearly work very hard to maintain the standards. Will be back!

Best ramen I’ve ever had. Generous portions. Really knowledgable staff in terms of food allergies and gluten free options. Great negroni.

I fancied something warm for lunch on that cold afternoon in Leeds. I decided to go to this Asian restaurant that I have been once before. Nice and friendly greet as I entered. Relaxed atmosphere. I love spicy food but I was a bit under the weather and had sensitive tummy that day. So I ordered Shoyu Chicken Ramen which is non spicy at all. Tasty and flavourful. I could really taste the charred corn. I must admit I prefer their spicy ramen dish that I had on my first visit. Suits my palate better. The restaurant was neat and tidy. Staffs are all friendly. Server was helpful and attentive. I will definitely return if I’m back in Leeds to explore the menu.

Very interesting, unusual flavours on the incredibly ranged and intriguing menu they have. Myself and my friend each had a ramen, both very different but tasty and good portions. Will be coming back to try the sides !

Food was absolutely excellent. Haven't got a bad thing to say. The Salmon Tartare and Original Pork Ramen was 10/10 and the special Gyoza was amazing. It's a very young and loud atmosphere. I'm only 34 and even I felt old. I enjoyed it though. It was fun and lively. Only negative was we had to wait 20 minutes for our table despite booking. We were sent all the way upstairs to the very busy bar (you have to go outside to get there) only to be called back down before we'd even managed to get a drink as the bar was so busy. Ordinarily this wouldn't be much of a problem but we had tickets to a show so we were then in a bit of a rush.

Fantastic food at a great price

Always delicious, love love love the ramen, vegan selection, frozen margaritas, crispy cauliflower, umeboshi sour beer... The staff are always incredibly attentive and friendly, food is served reasonably quick, and the ambience throughout the building, from the dining area to the toilets, is wonderful! My fave place for food in Leeds, and the karaoke rooms are an excellent event activity, although perhaps not recommended on the hottest day of summer like my birthday 🥵

I had ramen in Japan before and this was very close to the original. Their special samosa gyoza was amazing too! I will visit again!

I’ve been to House of Fu twice and have really enjoyed myself on both occasions. I'm not very knowledgeable on ramen so I can't really say what makes good ramen but I really enjoyed eating here and will probably go there again in the near future. The place is also very cosy and the staff are absolutely lovely. Their house beer is great, as well as their cocktails. I’m less of a fan of their gyozas, though and have yet to try the desserts but I would still recommend the place.

Ramens were amazing! Would highly recommend the cucumber salad too! Slightly pricey compared to a traditional ramen place but still really good quality for good. Drinks also great!

Fantastic ramen restaurant. Simple decor mirrors the feel of Japan where the focus should be on the food. I had the traditional ramen and was really good. The service was good, water provided as standard.

We went for a friend's 40th. Dinner was delicious, the staff were wonderful, and karaoke was painfully funny! It's a great night out

Noodles, fried chicken and gyoza were fab, but honestly the best part was the frozen passionfruit cocktail and ice cream sandwich. Phenomenal. 11/10

OK. I came here for karaoke. Bene here twice and it doesn't disappoint. Rooms are boss. Venue is cool AF. Drinks are reasonably priced. Staff are dead nice. You can not go wrong. Why aren't you there now. Chop chop.

Amazing chicken ramen!! Always love a visit to House of Fu and this was no different, very lucky to get a walk-in table for 2 on a Saturday night - would definitely recommend booking

Possibly the best place I eat in Leeds. We try different restaurants every week and have done for a very long time. But house of fu is the one we keep going back to. We’ve been going on average every 2 weeks for the past 3 months. Can’t get enough of it. Tasty AF

Drinks are a little expensive but we had a great night! Didn't try the food so can't comment on that. Karaoke was a blast and the dj had funky vibes in the bar! Not the most accessible place. Stairs up 3 floors and no lift that we could see.

The service and the atmosphere in here couldn’t be faulted! We came here for my friend’s birthday, he ordered some ramen and I ordered the crispy cauliflower rice bowl. My friend said it was the nicest ramen he’s ever had! My food was really good, the one thing I’d say though is that there was almost a bit too much kimchi in it and it can be quite overpowering. It did make it slightly harder to eat.

Even though everyone recommend this place for ramen, my choice was: Shiitake and Kale Gyoza Crispy cauliflower rice bowl Recommended

The ramen was better than expected to be honest (a bit too much ginger but it is easily picked out). The gyoza were a big disappointment though, they looked like they were boiled and then fried barely on only one side.. very strange, gyoza tend to have a crunch but these did not and the filling didnt taste too great either. The staff seemed fine for the most part, not the most welcoming but also not the worst.

I highly recommend this place especially the Original Fu Ramen. Absolutely delicious! Very good customer service with a very friendly staff.

Visited this place the other day and I was rather disappointed. We were looking for a good pho place in Leeds and came across this pretty restaurant. We ordered the pho, rice and special Halloween edition dumplings. The rice was moderate, the dumplings tasted blander than your store bought one, they’ve paired it with some kind of siracha sauce that didn’t make it any better. The pho was decent but you could tell that it wasn’t authentic. I personally don’t think it’s worth the money, it’s merely the aesthetics of the restaurant you’re paying for. Will not reviSit unfortunately

The food was good but the only down for me was to greasy, i felt a bit off after eating that tantan ramen, but the food was tasty

One of my favourite places to eat in Leeds, the atmosphere and food are both incredible. Huge shout out to Seb for being an excellent member of staff - he really took care of us and made my friend’s birthday dinner a great time! 💖

Came for a dinner on thursday evening. Waited 15 mins just for my table to be cleaned, not even trying to get a menu or order a meal. My table didn’t get cleaned, so I left. Amazing service.

Food portion is small, over seasoned and over priced… service is good. Food serving is a bit slow, and the food is not fresh, the tofu has defo gone bad… The place plays music a bit loud, (we sat under the speaker.) The place looks alright, good lighting, clean, but exposed columns might not be everyone’s taste.

First time visiting House of Fu and what a pleasant experience it was. The food was great, the decor is amazing and quite aesthetic to look at. The team were incredibly kind, especially Laura. Laura recommended me an alternative when the choice of wine I wanted was out of stock. But also, when I was leaving, I had left my umbrella at the table without even realising, Laura came & brought it to me. Laura is an asset to your team, protect her at all costs X

Visited here with some friends for an early dinner and it did not disappoint! I went for the Tofu Tonkostu and it was absolutely delicious. Not too rich but creamy, the PERFECT noodle to broth ratio, flavoursome and served swiftly. Service was great- the staff were lovely and explained everything to us (the food coming out when it's ready etc). The restaurant has a canteen feel which seems popular with these type of places and got busy super fast so make sure to book! Not one to be missed when visiting Leeds!

The food was rather bland with not much flavour. Atmosphere was great however the service was poor. Our plates were cleared, the bill immediately came without us asking, then they arrived with the card machine and told us we had 10 minutes to leave as they needed the table. It put a very sour note at the end of the meal with being thrown out so fast.

Lovely hole in the wall find! Highly recommended for authentic Asian cooking!!! Then have dessert at the HK cafe around the corner!

Me and my Daughter's favourite place! Korean Fried Cauliflower, Fu chicken and ice-cream sandwich are our favourite♡ Of course Fu original Ramen too. Cool interior design, lovely staff,nice atmosphere. Highly recommended!!

Unfortunately very disappointing. Ramen was underseasoned and watery - £13 for a bowl of noodles, broth and a few pieces of chicken is just not worth it. I had high hopes and thought this was just my bad luck, but a friend of mine went a few days after me and confirmed his experience was the same. Such a shame! This place had a lot of potential.

I've eaten here quite a few times with family and friends. The service has always been top quality. Polite, friendly, knowledgeable staff serving amazing food. The food really really is something else. Colleagues have used the Karaoke too and the facilities here are pretty amazing! Finish your night off in the very cool cocktail bar where you can tailor your drink or choose from a very tasty drinks menu while listening to some very good tunes played live by the DJ.

Amazing! Booked a couple of tables as part of a hen party. The atmosphere was really nice, service amazing (thank you to our server Elle), and the food was genuinely brilliant, everyone complimented all their dishes and sides. The karaoke room upstairs is really great and secret cocktail bar upstairs is fab. Would 100% recommend booking for a group.

The place looks great. Very instagramable, however the food needs improvement. The broth is really bland which is not good considering ramen should be the most rich in flavour noodle soup of all. I wonder if they cook the broth for long enough? The pork was also quite tasteless. It all looks good in the bowl though. Maybe a few tweaks can make a big difference. But a ramen place can't have bland broth! This review is for the Manchester branch.

Really nice restaurant - love the vibe! Service was really good- all the servers were lovely and delivered everything with a smile. We visited "House Of Fu" today as walk ins (website said fully booked). We got a table after 15 min. Service was quick and straight forward. We were introduced to the "special of the day" and placed our orders. Food and drinks came after a short wait. I ordered the Spicy Fu Tantanmen and let me tell you it hit the spot. Delicious and so many layers of different flavour profiles. We had a great time! Great food, great price and the staff were friendly and professional. We will deffo be back!!

Very good ramen, only thing missing IMO was an egg :) but definitely will come back. Not fan of the special gyozas, want to try the pork ones but had a really good experience

Very average experience. The food we chose was very oily/ greasy. All I could taste on the Fu pork Gyoza was the oil, I could barely taste any pork in it. Super bland! So 2/ 10 for this dish. Then the Teriyaki Chicken was okay. 5 /10 Again it tasted very oily. they add too much oil to their meals. Service was okay. The staff was pleasant and helpful.

went there to celebrate my birthday and the food and service was Ah-mazing❤️ We were running a tad late and they helped us with the timings to ensure we would go up to karaoke with plenty of time! Food was super fast to arrive and really tasty! Definitely have some starters as they are soooooo good! The tanntamen ramen was absolutely delicious and very filling! Staff was lovely and very welcoming as well. The only downside were drinks being a tad pricey( but I guess that's how you manage to pay staff and rent a whole building with private karaoke rooms!) Cannot wait to come back!

Food and service are great but disappointed by a few things. We were told our order would arrive as and when - didn't realise I'd be eating my main before the starter had arrived! I chose to eat the warm starter so my main main was cold when I returned to it. The bill was brought to the table, and there was no chance to have anything else as our table was needed for a large party. Not a big deal as we were told we could finish our drinks in the upstairs bar. However, there were people openly vaping and the staff didn't seem to care. Not a great end to the evening.

Mostly disappointing. The food was good though nothing special. I had a poke bowl but it wasn’t fresh sashimi salmon instead smoked salmon… which was disappointing. I was thinking of a more authentic restaurant but it’s more like Instagrammable. But the service and ambiance was the worst. The lady who welcomed us told us there wasn’t any availability and then when we told her we can wait a bit she found us a table. Also we had three or four different waiters which was odd. The place is loud and very tight. I just ate and left as soon as possible because I got a headache from all the noise and the loud music. Definitely won’t come back again!

Similarly to some other reviews, the place is lovely food looks lovely but the taste isn't what I'd expect for the price and not particularly authentic. And they put a service charge automatically on the bill without telling you which I think is quite rude especially when it's already over £14 for a bowl of ramen it's not ok. I'm sure they can afford to pay their staff

Very tasty ramen! I will definitely come back there to try more dishes. The food is tasty, but the portions are not too big, if you want to eat your fill, one portion of ramen will not be enough, which does not change the fact that I recommend this place because the food is very tasty. Small tables, for two people. If you want a larger group, you need to reserve a place, the music is a bit loud.

Outstanding food, the ramens are among of the best I ever had, pork Gyoza and deep-fried chicken are amazing.

Great place, nice bar upstairs for a drink before hand, staff were very friendly and even gave us a tip for a venue to visit after, will be back 🙂

I'm Japanese and this is the only place I enjoy ramen in Leeds! Quirky modern atmosphere with the name of this restaurant may make Japanese residents feel "Okay, fake Japanese food done by non-Japanese chefs again in Leeds...", but you are wrong. No matter where chefs are from, broth, noodles and ingredients are prepared nicely. I should try every ramen here! Other than ramen, I'm not sure if I can recommend gyouza to a Japanese friend saying it's authentic, but I'm sure they are still great for most people who never tried any in Japan. I'm so happy to be able to have nice ramen in Leeds.

Great ramen bowls, the original fu ramen is my favourite in Leeds. Weekly changing specials are great, especially the gyoza. My favourites recently have been the steak and chips gyoza and the deep fried chicken gyoza with buffalo sauce. Good drinks selection, including a brilliant house yuzu beer. Goes very well with the food.

Wow.. the best ramen my girlfriend and I have had. Service was great, the food was amazing, and the atmosphere and vibe of the restaurant was lovely. Definitely ask about the special gyozas.. we had chicken wing gyozas and they were delicious. Highly recommend!

me and my sister love going here together! the frozen margs are insane, she gets mushroom ramen and i get the cauliflower bowl! have been afew times over the past few years and never been disappointed:)
