We bought 2 tubs of jellied ells just before closing time and took them away to eat. They tasted and smelt awful and were thrown away. We returned the following day and explained what had happened but were not offered an apology or refund from the young lady who served us. It is important to note that things do go wrong occasionally, but the moment of truth is defined by how the matter is dealt with. This was very poor and unacceptable. We suggest that your customer service is improved radically, and your supplier is questioned. We note that it states on the tub that they must be stored at a constant 1 to 4 degrees centigrade

Had Crab sandwiches and Prawn sandwiches, excellent food all made to order. Fresh and really generous filling accompnied by salad and crisps.Nicely presented Best sandwiches we had all week

A lunch time treat. We ordered 2 crab sandwiches and sat down outside to wait right next to the harbour. When they arrived they had been freshly made and were packed with brown and white mixed crab meat, a side salad and crisps. Delicious and well worth it. The staff were very friendly and helpful So next time you are in Brixham and fancy a crab sandwich make your way to the Serious Shrimp and you wont be disappointed

Nice choice of seafood, was best priced of a few seafood places and seemed to get more. Had some octopus and whelks. Happily go again.

Located in a prime spot on the edge of the harbour, this is primarily a takeaway, but there are nonetheless a small number of tables under an awning should you wish to eat “in”. The small pots of whelks, prawns and so on looked enticing, but we wanted something a bit more substantial so opted for the prawn sandwiches. These were very good indeed, a generous filling with Mary Rose sauce and served with a side salad and some crisps. Crab sandwiches across the table were also well received, and at £8.50 seemed much better value than the ones we had the day before for £11. Well worth trying.

Had a beautiful meal there on Saturday we felt utterly spoilt with our food and location. Both staff were very friendly and the portions were excellent. Really made our day out feel very special thank you

The best crab sandwiches in Brixham - so tasty and great value that my family have visited twice this month! They come with a fresh salad, yummy dressing and thick crisps. The whelks and oysters are also delicious and the team are always really friendly. Perfect for a sunny day with gorgeous views of the harbour while you enjoy your meal!

I initially thought their prices a bit steep when I enquired about crab sandwiches. A very polite member of staff advised me the price of premium mixed crab sandwich £7.50 or all white crab meat £10.50. What impressed me was his politeness and the choice. I returned soon after and ordered the white crab meat. I was offered the choice of brown or white bread. The filling was generous and the sandwich was served on a wooden platter with salad crisps and salad dressing. I will definitely go back again for another.

After walking from Torquay to Brixham we enjoyed a lovely crab sandwich at Serious Shrimp, delicious food, lovely garnish and crisps on the side at a great location, will definitely go back when we visit Brixham again, thanks guys. Would highly recommend it 👏👍.

I thought I’d take my mum to Brixham today and treat her to a crab sandwich for lunch on the harbour. We spotted a ‘shack type’ fish stall with a few seats outside. As I’m a veggie and can’t eat fish, I decided to get some chips across the road first and then queued up for my mum’s crab sandwich and drinks. I suggested to mum that she sat down one of the tables whilst I ordered her sandwich. Suddenly, the older woman in the shack started shouting across the seating area that my mum couldn’t eat the chips at their tables. It was so embarrassing. My mum explained that it was ok because I was ordering her sandwich and drinks from them, but the woman said it didn’t matter, we couldn’t eat there if only one of of was eating their products. The young girl who served us looked a bit embarrassed by the older woman’s scene and rightly so. The young girl offered to do the sandwich as a takeaway instead. Funnily enough a similar review has been left about the same thing regarding seating and the reviewer suggested that the owners could be a little more flexible and considerate towards others’ dietary requirements. I was in two minds whether to tell them to forget the sandwich but I bought it anyway thinking at least the sandwich would be nice. It wasn’t. Don’t waste your money here. There are a few more fish stalls on the harbour which looked much friendlier and the food looked much nicer too. I’m expecting a sarcastic reply from the owner (see their reply to the one star review further down) but she won’t scare or intimidate me not to write an honest review, which is what this is. Shocking management skills and mediocre food. My advice - go elsewhere.

How refreshing! Great customer service, friendly, efficient and very welcoming! We were served quickly and the food was first class and high quality. The prawn sandwich was FULL of juicy prawn and presented beautifully with fresh salad and some crisps. Highly recommended and we’ll definitely be returning! Keep up the good work!

Choose the lobster tasting tails , tasted awful no reference to lobster in anyway, so sat down tried to eat one but my husband couldn’t so he grabbed a pasty from over the road , I wouldn’t of complained , the chap was straight over to us to tell my husband not to eat the pasty at his table how petty, I’d just spent £3 and there was no one waiting for the table. I mentioned the tail thing he said sorry but he didn’t care or offer to replace with mussels very rude and no need for his attitude. We were there less than 5 minutes. The seagulls got to eat the tails waste of £3.
