Ordered an oat latte only to be served one with cow's milk (which I was unfortunately only able to confirm after a few confusing mouthfuls). The waitress did apologise but having been vegan for over 20 years the "that was my bad" didn't really cut it. Was then charged £3.50 for two slices of plain toast. The staff are friendly enough but the service and light flickering need a good talking to.

Just dropped in this very pleasant cafe for a bacon roll and coffee after school drop off. Fantastic large packed roll and hot coffee, served with a smile from the pleasant staff. The entertainment when a buffoon delivery driver from Booker Direct decided that carrying two large boxes, one in each hand, one being a case of read wine normally carried by both handles, would be a good idea. It wasn’t and as expected in such dreadful weather resulted in the whole box dropping to the floor and all boxes smashing their contents over a large area of the floor. It seems a lot of care had been taken by the cafe to make the decor attractive for the customers and sadly the peace was shattered. The staff quickly hit to action, unbelievably hardly batting an eyelid, I would have gone ballistic at such carelessness and to cap it off the driver seemed ambivalent to what he’d done, made no offer or effort to help clear up other than to photo the offending wine box and spilled contents, then getting a delivery signature and off to his next delivery, as if it was a frequent occurrence .I felt sorry for the staff who maintains wined their smiles throughout (maybe it is a frequent occurrence), who deserve a medal for their calmnessFantastic place, don’t pass it by!!Ken

We went to Sebbys for the ‘vegan buffet.’ However this is not a buffet. The buffet included salad, noodles and vegetables. Then you have to order the main course but this isn’t part of the actual buffet. This wasn’t very clear. Luckily was 3 of us and we could sample all 3 food options. The food was delicious and inventive for vegan food. We found the restaurant on Instagram and that’s where we saw their menu.

Overnight visit to Headingley and needed to find somewhere for breakfast, what a lucky find. Wonderful little place with a slightly rustic air. Nice to see they had a small selection of locally made art and craft too. Welcoming staff, great choice of food; vegan, vegetarian and meat. I had sebbys egg special, delicious. My partner had a 3 egg omelette which was a bit over done but we loved the place so much we couldn't bring ourselves to say anything. Would certainly recommend if you're in the area. One thing, we weren't totally sure it was open as blinds were down and no sign on door, also no menu on display. Could possibly help potential customers to enter.

Two chefs talking in the kitchen area about somebody’s genitalia??? And we could all hear it .... and to finish the visit I went to the toilet and it was horrendous, it was filthy, not hand wash and faeces all over the toilet bowl. At this point regretted badly eating here as it makes me think if the toilet is not been look after I cannot think about the hygiene in the kitchen. To the owners I hope you read this and do something about your dirty toilet and your staff with potty mouths, it is a shame since you have such a lovely place.

Lovely terrace in the sun and the new building looks great from the outside and in. Unfortunately the food is very basic. A sausage sandwich comes in a basic bread roll on its own -no salad or sides. The avocado on toast was very dry and had barely any avocado on it, again no side salad (overpriced at £6 for what is was). It would also be better if they offered table service. I hope they make efforts to improve their food. The staff should sample LS6, Monsieur Dejeuner, Bowery to get an idea about the quality expected. Please improve!

My mother and i came here in 2014 when it was the smaller cafe a few doors down i reviewed it at the time and it was a lovely little cafe plus good value with many cakes at a pound each.Last September 2017 we visited the new much bigger Sebbys and it had been transformed! Bigger, plus large outdoor seating area at front. Some prices had risen but They still served the Famous Breakfast Burrito for £4.95 which was a fair price and it was tasty. So we were happy. We came in a few more times but we felt Standards were Slipping slightly each visit. The number of staff had risen which should be an Improvement but we saw some of them messing around and laughing etc plus often The Awful music was turned up Very loud and we got them to turn it down a couple of times. We visited in Jauary 18 and we asked for Extra hot Lattes as usual When they were brought out to us we returned them twice until they had the right heat.So Today Sunday the 8th of April 18 it was quite busy in the cafe.We ordered our Extra hot Lattes and they were warmish but the extra milk we asked for WAS Extra hot(LOL!) we also ordered a ham and cheese toastie for Mum priced at £3.95 which was fair priced.Plus a bowl of chips which were hot.I nearly ordered the Breakfast Burito but saw a sign on the wall saying Scrambled egg on Sour Dough for £4.50 it sounded good so i ordered it.After 20 minutes the Lattes arrived allbeit warm! Another 20 minutes later the food arrived! WHAT A SHOCK!!! MY SRAMBLED EGG was the SMALLEST EVER PORTION!! I was Instantly Steaming MAD! i thought about sending it back! But i took a photo that will go on here and before i ate it i complained so the girl said she would bring me an extra bit of toast to compensate. The Sour bread toast is like Concrete and has NO TASTE! i complained to a different lady on leaving and she said an AMY is the boss or owner?so ill be ringing her! I told the lady in the cafe i doubt we would ever return! I Rarely complain about food in cafes etc but had to in this case.Plus the table next to us Complained about their food too!! So in Total ok The breakfast burrito is ok and some other wraps look ok but thats about it.So Sebby,s...Have a good look at yourselves and increase your standards again and revise some of your meals?? The lady i talked to in the cafe said she had made my scrambled egg herself with 3 eggs i said i dont think so! It was one egg at the most!! It wouldnt have filled a child!! DISGUSTING RIP OFF!!! I WISH i had the Power to close the cafe!!

I, along with 2 friends, happened upon Sebby's whilst staying in the Headingley area. Our first visit was to partake of lunch. I opted for cinnamon toast with honey followed by a piece of home-made cake. The service was excellent and the food was delicious...A real treasure of a place. It had a very relaxed ambiance and as it was close to our hotel we decided to grab breakfast there the following morning. The following morning we arrived and found we were the first customers of the day (assume many others forgot to put their clocks forward). I ordered an English breakfast but was disappointed to see that the Heinz baked beans were, at best, tepid and the egg was fried to solidity. Generally poor quality breakfast which was more than disappointing. As the title suggests this is about when you visit as you should not expect consistency of service or quality of food throughout the day.

Visited this morning for a late brunch with my partner and our friend. My friend and I shared the breakfast burrito, cinnamon toast and Sebby’s eggs - all were delicious. The honey on the cinnamon toast was particularly good. We also had flat whites and the coffee was good if not particularly hot. My partner opted for French toast and also seemed to enjoy it. When we were done there were clean plates all round. I’d certainly come back next time I’m in the vicinity.

Went after church because I am American and I saw they had breakfast burritos! They are an English version of a breakfast burrito but very tasty. Environment is awesome and lovely setting. Mainly though, we went for my sons birthday weekend. We had a lovely lady named Abi as our waitress and she couldn't have been better! Not overpowering, but kind and helped us according to our situation. Got stuff sorted and just generally was pleasant to be around. Just awesome. We were excited to go, but the way we were treated on top of the place itself, just made the day and set us up for the rest of it. This place is awesome and would highly recommend it on so many levels! I can't speak highly enough for good customer service. All the staff seemed to have this and it really makes all the difference. Loved it!

First visit at Sebby's. Thought I'd pop in for a coffee and ended up having breakfast. Nice atmosphere and plenty of space inside and out. Menu looks good and the English breakfast was! Nice coffee too. Prices are reasonable. Will have to come for lunch next time.

Good cafe in a new locationWent here for Sat brunch as they’d moved into their new restaurant.Good breakfast, good coffee, service a little slow as they were clearly getting used to the bigger numbers of people. Don’t let that put you off.

Visited the new Sebby's today hoping for good things in their new venue. Two bacon sandwiches at the old location were both poor - lots of bread and very little filling....The outside furniture is not fit for purpose, the tables almost pivot let alone wobble, masking tape on the side and very annoying even for a coffee let alone to eat from. We ordered coffees and a scone - the scone would have been best used to stabilise the tables. I'm a big fan of Headingley and will always support local independent business but I'm struggling with 3 disappointing visits. I'm left feeing like everything is done to 70% - probably the margins also! I'm sorry to leave a bad review but my hope is that constructive criticism is welcomed rather than rejected. Good luck with the new venue - and hopefully these are just teething issues that will get sorted, I sincerely mean that.

Called in for Breakfast for the first time today, been wanting to call in for ages. The good bits: The staff are lovely, warm , friendly, helpful and can't do enough for you.The Cafe is lovely inside with some really nice little touches ( Cookery Books to read etc)We had the large full English Breakfast it was good. The sausages were lovely, however the tomato and mushrooms were minimal .....not good. It was the eggs that puzzled us we asked for fried but when it came the yolks were like bullets they were that hard and they just didn't look fried ????? Bizarre . It came with toast but mine was just warm bread no colour on it all,and it would have been nice to see some black pudding too.Overall our experience was good , I've had better Full English Breakfasts nearby I must say but I would certainly call again . One other moan it does seem to attract the " Headingley Set" ....... all papoose and we are the only ones to ever have a baby sort but maybe that's just me .

Sebby's has now moved up a few doors, and you can see why. Its food and atmosphere cater for students to their parents and to the local community. The menu is just good, and full of that 'local' vibe that people want these days. It can get rammed at times, and last time I went with my parents in their 60's, the wait was 45 minutes. But even my fussy Dad said it was worth the wait. All six of us had egg based lunches, so getting all them cooked properly and on time was no mean feat. There is a lot of fierce competition in this area for good food done right. I am so pleased to have Sebby's round the corner, and long may they continue!

Husband, myself and daughter arrived at Sebby's for lunch prior to the matinee at Cottage Road cinema. It's fabulous inside, the staff are all great, and the menu is full of tasty sounding breakfast and lunch fare at a good price. My daughter ordered the omelette and we had a delay with the food due to a lack of eggs. One of the girls ran out to get some, so that was rectified. However, my husband's bacon sandwich was seriously lacking in bacon, and my bacon, brie and cranberry was spoiled by a cheap margarine taste. Even my daughter commented on the nasty taste of her toast. We went to pay and the staff knocked off the cost of our drinks due to the "egg delay", which was really good of them. But there, staring at me from the other side of the counter, was a great big tub of Stork margarine!!! My husband was too polite to say anything, of course. But, come on Sebby's, sort this out. We'd love to come back again and try other things, but please get rid of the Stork!!

Great new location, interior is great, felt busy without being too rammed. We had the hash and eggs sebby, both very nice. We'll visit again, seemed like a good place for families.

Went with my wife and 2 year old, they have just moved to fantastic new premises, and were happily overwhelmed with new customers....it's going to be 5 star very soon as the atmosphere is family friendly, food is amazing, and the outside chairs face the sun. Just what headingley needs.

Went to this cafe as a friend had recommended it. I went with a small group of friends who ordered snacks and a hot drink. All of the food arrived way before the hot drinks. And although they said the food was good, it was not ideal to have finished their food before their drink had arrived. I did not order food, but had to wait 25 minutes for a simple Americano. It was a Saturday lunchtime and although yes it was busy, there appeared to be enough staff around. The food looked to be of good quality and value for money, however £2.50 for an average sized coffee is not match other local cafes.

Such tasty home cooked food served by a genuinely lovely team of people. New renovate is just incredible-like nothing else I've experienced in Leeds. Would go every day if I could! Great coffee, good place to bring friends and family or to just read your book in peace.

Compact, only about 12 seats inside, (some folks sit at tables whilst waiting for their takeaway - so it's worth just popping in and checking for a table even though it looks full - generally busy though I think ) pretty decor, very very nice staff and a gorgeous breakfast, lots of choice, the coffee was absolutely perfect, thank (Also lunches) and you can park for a short period right outside.

Stopped by this morning for a breakfast as we were passing. I had a large full English which was a great size and my girlfriend had a wrap which she couldn't finish (looking forward to that later)! Couple of the best vanilla lattes I've ever had and such brilliant friendly service too! Took a couple of brownies away with us and that's why I'm writing this now - UNBELIEVABLE haha! Think we'll be back very soon!

I came with my parents before the cinema and we were able to get a table. The choice of cakes was fantastic, I also had a falafel wrap, just what I would have hoped for! Prices were good, couldn't fault the place. Hope to come back!

Although local, I had not been here before but was tempted by a Groupon offer for 4 people for "Afternoon Tea". When we arrived at 1pm, the cafe was very busy and our table had duly been reserved. At one table, a diner was tucking into an all day breakfast which looked really good and I was beginning to regret my choice of an afternoon tea. I needn't have worried as the sandwiches, cakes, and scones were substantial and above all delicious. The benchmark for Afternoon Teas is in my opinion, Mamma Doreen's in Harrogate but that comes with Harrogate prices. Sebby's however, is really very good and great value. There were two hard working young waiting staff on the day of our visit and they could not have been more helpful. My wife, our two guests, and I were all delighted with Sebby's and will definitely come again.

The food was very average. There was nothing unique or special about the food. The service was substandard. I would definitely avoid this place.

Excellent food and great choice. Suggest you book ahead. For the "top" meals they are between £25 and £30 each. I had a mixed fish dish which was excellent.

We had Sunday lunch and were served by Sam . He was so good at his job and really made us feel welcome, our son is a very fussy eater and Sam couldn't do more to help. Lovely place for family's.

Mrs Bore and I had a salmon and ham sandwich respectively. Both really well prepared on fresh bread though just short of £10 each. The one thing preventing 5 stars is they had outside heaters that nearly singed my hair.
