The quality of everything here is exceptional! Superb menu, everything is high quality, delicious flavours and quality ingredients. The pricing is always excellent value and the food consistently first class with every visit. Excellent coffee too. Lucky to have this place close by!

Being a customer for a many years the coffee and food first class. However their service has really gone downhill. cafe not busy today, but somehow they forgot my order and after 15 minutes i enquiries opt to be told they had forgotten it. Seaspray you need to pay more attention!

Regular visitor to this brilliant cafe, excellent pastries, good coffee, lunches are amazing and staff always cheery and chatty. Highly recommended.

We could smell the amazing food before we could see this little gem. What an amazing choice of sandwiches, toasties, quiches & pastries they had. Between us all we had the bacon sandwich & the bacon & Brie sourdough toasty. Absolutely delicious. The coffee was outstanding. We were waiting by the wall & they brought our order to us! By the time we had eaten ours the queue was down the path, clearly a very popular place!

What a lovely little cafe. Worth the 3 mile walk from Brighton for the flapjack alone - raspberry Bakewell and salted caramel (both vegan, although we’re not - they were blooming delicious!). Rest of the food looked equally tasty.

So far we have tried the Beef Lasagne and the Lamb Moussaka. Both delicious! Can also recommend Magda's polenta cake smothered in natural yoghurt. Yum! By far the best takeaway menu in the Rottingdean area, we can't wait to try some more.

Very friendly little cafe which serves delicious soups, fresh salads and home made quiche daily and also serves a delicious brunch. The coffee is the best you will find in the area and the cake is also home baked. A friendly efficient team of staff that are always happy to accommodate you. Highly recommend

My friends and I cycled from Brighton to Rottingdean along the seafront and came across this gem. We all decided to try out the food and coffees and we were so happy we did. Everything was superb from great food to excellent service to a beautiful view of the sea, this place has it all!

We've been to the Sea Spray twice now after walks along the undercliff and the food is fantastic and the service great, it's really worth a visit.

I had a late lunch at Sea Spray today. The sweet potato quiche was so good. Their outside patio is shady and peaceful. Watching excited young visitors ordering their scrumptious ice cream was fun. The food was absolutely delicious and the staff and service were terrific. They didn’t mind that I lingered over lunch for an hour. I loved everything about this place. Plus it’s only a 2 minute walk down to the Undercliff trail. Sea Spray is fantastic!!

If you're ever at Rottingdean or take the under cliff cycle or walk along to Saltdean it's worthwhile popping into Seaspray for tasty wholesome food and a chat to the genuinely friendly and accommodating staff.The salads are always interesting and flavoursome with lots of varied vegetables . I'm a veggie so can't comment on the meat but the meals all look great and everyone always seems pleased, haven't heard any complains anyway and I'm often here.Good all round nutritious food, great toasties and tasty breakfasts. I highly recommend this place even though you might have to wait for a space to be seated

Called in for lunch and what a treat! A warm welcome and good service, then delicious quiche & salad - a generous portion and the flavours were delicious. We will certainly go there again - highly recommended.

Varied, interesting fusion style menu. Excellent food & presented well by lovely staff. I would visit more frequently but they dont cater for children ~ no highchairs and its very small so a little too cramped with a toddler. A real shame however as always satisfied.

My first visit here. Extremely friendly attentive staff. Nothing was too much trouble. Lots of regulars they were on first name terms with. Good food and a really good feel to the whole place. It is a little on the small side, more space would be good. But an excellent cafe that I shall be returning to.

I am vegetarian my partner is a dedicated meat eater. We are both able to have wonderful fresh tasty food in this small but delightful cafe. It is without my favourite cafe of all time. Great service warm friendly unique. My partner moved to rottingdean in 2017 and we go to this cafe at least 3 times a week.

Fantastic breakfast available. I had the sea spray breakfast, which was extremely tasty. Looking forward to going back and trying the smashed avocado! Small number of tables available, however, the staff told us to comeback in 15 mins and kept us a table 👍

We had lunch at Sea Spray last week when we went to Rottingdean for a walk along the Prom. Really lovely friendly staff and a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere. The food was really, really delicious and the menu innovative and varied. It will definitely be our first port of call if in the area again. Thank you.

There are several good cafes and places to eat in Rottingdean but this one is different with some great breakfast and brunch options that you will not find elsewhere. From delicious breakfast options including crushed avocado with eggs and eggs benedict to wonderful quiche options with amazing salads this place is definitely worth a visit. Its quite small and the tables are close together but the staff are friendly. Not expensive and good value.

We love this place, and it’s become our favourite beach hang out in the area. Despite being teeny, we always manage to find a seat, sometimes outside, sometimes perched on the end of someone else’s table...it’s worth it. It has a really nice intimate, but not at all cliquey, atmosphere...the food is fantastic, the service is quick and the staff are attentive and friendly.

I went here for brunch one Saturday early afternoon with my mum after she had raved about it! Although I was expecting good things from her previous experience, the seaspray really did go above and beyond! A good selection of brunch and lunch options and the food is unbelievably good! Really good value for money for the quality and taste too. They were also really understanding of allergies and have gluten free bread! An absolute must visit!

Me and my girlfriend popped in for a spontaneous breakfast which was fantastic. Both had eggs royale which came as a generous portion with salmon, sourdough chunky toast and two poached eggs in a thick hollandaise. Absolutely hit the spot and was easy on the wallet too. Would deffinatley go back.

Had a rather challenging day and with some time on my hands decided to pop in to the cafe for a lunch. Received the usual friendly welcome and perused the menu. Opted for the cauliflower, leek and goat cheese quiche with their accompanying homemade salads, washed down with a pot of earl grey. Service was prompt and food was fantastic- really tasty- easily matching its lovely presentation. A really uplifting experience!

Having travelled and worked abroad a lot I'm generally not impressed with English cafe/restaurants but this little gem blew me away. It was a lovely place, excellent food quality, excellent service and clean with plenty of characters having their food which made it a very pleasant experience. The owners are young and seem to share a passion for good food and service so I loved the place and will return when I next visit. Had toasted sandwiches, excellent coffee, and cake and ice cream all to die for.

My wife and I walked from Brighton Marina to Rottingdean and stumbled on the Seaspray Café and we are delighted we did.

Lovely place to stop and have breakfast. Fantastic customer service which beats most of the restaurants in Brighton, staff are top.

This is the best food, and friendliest staff in the land. Eggs benedict perfection, and the salads delicious, creative and nutricious. Every mouthful is heaven. I often take my tupperware down for a takeaway to have on the beach, or at home later. The best.

We had lunch here on our second visit. I had a lovely butternut squash quiche and selection of four different salads and sparkling elderflower with blackberries served in a decorative jar. John had a bacon sarnie in nice brown bread and a capuccino. Dog friendly so that's handy. right by the seafront in Rottingdean. Can eat out or inside. Bill around £16 including an icecream. Going back very soon.

The staff were friendly and polite and when they forgot to bring something, took responsibility instead of blaming someone else, which endeared me to them.

I found this place while walking back to the lower walkway, charming little place, lovely coffee and food, with some different salads which were nice, well worth a visit, the service was excellent.

Great little cafe, fairly hidden away but by the sea. We only had a coffee, but he happily gave me a double shot for my decaffeinated flat white. We didn't eat as it was too early, but the food looked gorgeous! Different and colourful and very tasty looking.

Just by the sea on Rottingdean seafront is this little gem of a restaurant. The food is absolutely superb. They do lovely fresh salad plates made up of three or four different home made salads every day.Cauliflower and grape salad, potato salad, onion salads in balsamic vinegar. I have been there three times and have never had the same salad. Home made quiches which are delicious, hamburgers, steak sandwiches, vegetarian home made lasagna and much more. Fab cakes too. I highly recommend this cafe and if you want a great lunch don't go anywhere else!! Best food and service in Rottingdean!!!

Called in for breakfast based on Trip Advisor reviews. What a find, certainly weren’t disappointed. Greeted by a smiling welcoming waiter who offered to get drinks straight away. Ordered full English breakfast, despite being a very busy cafe, we were served promptly. Definitely be back. Charming staff, good food reasonably priced.

This cafe was recommended to us by the guy in Brighton Beach Bike Hire. We were so glad he did. This is an amazing little cafe; the food was fresh and homemade. We had the quiche and salad, both were delicious and not just a few lettuce leaves but an appetising mix of vegetables and dressings. My family had the gorgeous cakes and they didn't disappoint either. The staff here were very friendly and attentive especially the guy serving us.

The sun was shining bright. It was Bank Holiday Monday. It was busy as hell. The whole of the area was bursting at the seams. There were queue's of people to get in anywhere.

I've been going to Rottingdean since I was very little, I had family living there before I was born. I have to say it is by far the nicest food I've had in this quaint village. Good value for the quality, friendly staff, idyllic spot; all round fantastic. Would highly recommend for anyone who isn't in the mood for a jacket potato/sandwich/ pub food BONANZA.

Even on a rainy and windy day this place was busy and I know why... you get a warm welcome, fast service, cake and tea. The perfect venue to dry out and warm up. And they’re dog friendly too.

Cycled from Brighton and enjoyed a great lunch here. Staff were attentive, food was excellent and very reasonably priced. The portobello mushrooms and vine tomatoes on toast were amazing. Kids and husband had toasted sandwiches and all said they were great. Well worth a visit....

I have visited since October and have been counting the days to get back down to the South Coast. Our caravan has opened for the season and life it happy!

New management appears, great food!!We met up for breakfast it was delightful and the service was excellent! All the food served up to customers while we were there looked inviting and delicious. The drinks were hot and of a high standard. Only one criticism, food balanced on top of the cold counter etc very close to people coughing, sneezing and not covered was a health hazard and equally a potential accident waiting to happen to the poor people sitting under it! Very very cramped tables packed so close together hard not to upset people when arriving or leaving. This is an excellent business that needs a little more space to make it more relaxing to eat. Look forward to returning in the new year.

Sono stata qui sabato 28 ottobre nel pomeriggio. Piccolo locale sul mare con una piccola vetrata in cui i clienti si fermano per prendere i gelati anche da fuori. Posto piccolo ma tavoli molto ben organizzati, i ragazzi sono davvero disponibili e gentili oltre che accoglienti. Ho preso un the caldo con una fetta di torta. Direi tutto ottimo e presenterò con grande eleganza e semplicità. Se siete in questo piccolo paesino fateci un salto. Lo consiglio!

We eat here regularly now, the food is always so fresh & tasty with a good range of “specials”. The Seaspray breakfast (&veggie; breakfast) with sourdough toast is excellent, not greasy at all. Fabulous coffee too, and all at very reasonable prices. Staff unfailingly efficient & friendly, what more can I say? Oh yes, they’re actually open when they say they’ll be, no closing on a whim when the weather’s bad! 10/10 to Lewis & the team, thank you.

We have been told about Sea Spray by several friends, and got to experience it ourselves today. Walked from Saltdean along the Undercliff Walk, up the slope at Rottingdean towards the Village, and there it was tucked back just past the top of the slope.

We were so impressed by this cafe which we stumbled across yesterday (it's just a short walk up from the beach). Delicious healthy, tasty homemade food and all reasonably priced. We opted for a take-away & very much appreciated the environmentally-friendly carton boxes & wooden cutlery. The staff were also friendly staff and the service was fast. Would love to see more places like this one!

Popped in with family for a mid morning brunch. The breakfast I ordered was fantastic. From the sourdough toast to all of the locally sourced ingredients it was great. RBH all of the food I saw being served looked great. A small but well run establishment that really hits the spot. Also dog friendly so another bonus being a dog owner.

We have just returned from brunch/lunch at this place after seeing it recommended on here. This place is definitely a hidden gem. We had the halloumi burger, sausage roll with salads and poached eggs. The food was absolutely fantastic. The salads particularly were really tasty. Service was friendly and quick. Could not have been better. My dad lives nearby so every time we visit him we will be coming here! Thank you.

A small place with a big heart and great food. Wonderful quiches and very imaginative salads, a glorious plate of roasted tomatoes, poached eggs, pesto, rocket, toast and an optional add-on of bacon ( it had to be done !) Tea in big enamel pots. All very fresh and tasty, and served up by a very friendly crew. And clearly very popular with the locals for whom it seems like the hub of the universe. Do try it.

I wandered in on a wet and windy August morning, and received a very warm welcome. The place is tiny (maybe 6-8 tables?), which might out some people off, but the interior is nicely done out, and the food looked very appealing. Apparently run by brother and sister, who took it over a year or so ago, this is far superior to "your average" greasy spoon, which is what it was previously, apparently. And it is right opposite the beach. It's obviously doing well, and has its crowd of "locals", who actually talk to you!I only had a cup of tea, but was delighted that it was served in a proper old tea pot, rather than those metal things that pour the stuff everywhere but in the cup.The sandwiches looked very appetising-made with a mix of sourdough and brown bread from some "artisan" bakery in Brighton, and some lovely looking salads were appearing just before I left.If you're in the area, give it a go!

It would be very easy to walk past this smashing little cafe. There's little outside to indicate the delights inside; indeed, the shopfront is drab although in good location overlooking the sea. However, inside there's a very pleasant atmosphere with a small but enticing menu. We visited for breakfast and thoroughly enjoyed the full English with beans and black pudding added and a toasted sausage sandwich. A big pot of tea came as the perfect accompaniment to tasty, well-cooked food that clearly majors on local produce. Very enjoyable and good value. We will return.

This very small cafe is run by the chef himself who puts real care and attention into his food. The dishes are delicious and very good value. The cafe itself is quite small, but well positioned at the top of the slope down to the waterfront at Rottingdean.Well worth a visit for anyone appreciates good food!

Warm welcoming staff start your visit off on the right note. We ordered the full English this time & it was fab! All elements of the breakfast were tasty top end products. I am gluten free & to my delight I could have toast which I normally miss out on. The coffee's fantastic and is ground locally in Kemptown & local is great in my book. Going on to other dishes on the menu is going to be the reason we'll be back very soon because it all looks delish!!!

Been here a couple of times for breakfast, which have always impressed me, but today I came for lunch. Delicious homemade Moroccan lamb with sweet potato crust and salads for a very reasonable 7.95. Friendly staff, yummy food and right next to Rottingdean beach... what more could you want?!?!

This relatively new establishment serves great coffee (reasonably priced ), a wide variety of really tasty sandwiches that have high quality fillings and impressive hot meals (moussakas, quiches etc). The service is excellent as well. The short, steep walk up from the beach is well worth the effort!
