Sea Masters in Test Valley

Waited an hour and a half for a deliver placed at 17:30. Food arrived luke warm & no drinks delivered. Kids meal includes a drink but no replacement delivered. Delivery driver didn’t care as he wasn’t given drinks by the store. Ring the store to be told they’ve run out of drinks and 50p can be refunded via card ‘if I’d like?’ Where is the courteousness of just supplying another drink as replacement as that was the order? Or, why not ring the customer to ask for an alternative as you don’t have what has been ordered? Not great service or a great way to retain customers if you cannot fulfil orders correctly

Poor quality food over cooked. I expressed my opinion on social media and was harassed by the owner telling me I should not post my opinion online.

Are in with my son early evening. Food was fantastic and service was excellent. Take out looked like a fast service too. We will go back next time we are in the area.

Visited Saturday lunchtime had cod & chips to eat in and cup of tea. Chips & cod were piping hot and tasted delicious. Tea was good too.

We ordered fish & chips & chicken, they quoted an hour for delivery. It turned up 1 and half hours later. The delivery bloke did'nt care that he was late and shrugged his shoulders. The food was stone cold and swimming in grease...you could see it had been hanging around in the boxes for a long time! did'nt bother to complain as we have since read appalling reviews wish we had read them earlier! We had used them before and they were great....not sure if they have changed hands recently.

Fabulous food for a very good price, we sat by the river and ate our chips and they were so good that the pigeons didn’t get a look in. I wouldn’t normally bother leaving a review for a portion of chips but they were so good, this place deserves five stars.

I ordered from sea master on 26th July 22, waited 1 hour before calling them to ask where my order is. Was told it’s on its way and the driver had 3 deliveries to do. Waited another 20 minutes before calling back. Same person answered the phone, I asked for a refund and she said that she was be patient with me. Why she said that I do not know. She passed me onto the manager and he then said the printout never came through. Wait, didn’t the woman say the delivery driver had it with 3 other deliveries! Very rude manager so I asked for a refund. He persisted in telling me to wait longer for the food but I refused. No refund given at all. How can a business run like this. Seems they can’t handle complaints and are rude when speaking to them. I had an issues several months ago with the same business but give them the Benefit of the doubt. Avoid this place

Dear Madam/Sir With regard to the D9 order - 1. Phoned and requested delivery at 7.00pm, it was on the form and agreed by you. Arrived at 6.00pm, our guests arrived at 7.00pm, plus an extra piece of fish. 2. As a result the chips were u/s but the fish was over battered and overcooked. 3. As we were trying to eat, the phone rang, wanted, the address to deliver the order. Rang a second time, for the same thing. The whole experience was a disaster, never again. I would suggest you check the batter and the length of cooking time, plus delivery details.

If you order to deliver, you’re charged £1.50. What you need to know is to collect a large cod and chips it’s £7.10. The price for the same meal is £8.40 PLUS the £1.50 charge. So if you order four fish suppers for collection £28.40. For delivery £35.10!!

Had food delivered today as having to isolate. Very dissatisfied with the food for the money. The majority of chips were hard, and for a large portion there were not that many. I had a gherkin which was soft with no crunch at all. The only saving grace was the scampi and sausage wasn't so bad. Hope I don't need to buy from here again.

I have never had an issue with sea master before however tonight I thought I’d treat my other half to a date night in before our baby arrives and what a mistake that was. Firstly I found blue plastic inside my fish cake and called them straight away to be told it was the production companies fault not there’s and that it had never happened before. I told him he shouldn’t sell anymore due to what I had found and he just ignored me and told me he would speak to the company and only refund me for the fish cake. In the end I accepted this because I was not getting anywhere over the phone. I then was promised nothing else would be wrong with my food so I stupidly thought I’d carry on eating the chips to then find a bit of plastic with them. I will Not be ordering from them again and I do not recommend there food to anyone.

Dropped in here today and had cod and chips for two and it was really good. Fish cooked to perfection and lovely chips. Friendly staff and the only thing that was a bit awry was that the tea was too strong! Two tea-bags in little pots doesn't quite work but other than that, happy customers. Don't quite understand the poor reviews because our experience was positive - at lunch time.

I’ve been a customer for a few years now. But no more, just got home with a take a way, sausage and batter seems like it’s been cooked and sat in the shop all day, pies so hard couldn’t eat… very very poor….

I have been a regular customer for nearly two years, but after tonight ( 11-2-21 ) no more. I have never been treated so badly since the start of covid. I am exempt from wearing a mask on medical grounds, yet when I explained, the owner tried to force me to wear one and started kicking off and forded me to wait outside in the freezing cold. I explained that he needed to read and understand the rules. But he won't. So people, if you have a medical condition avoid this place at all costs, because you will be treated the same as me. Totally unacceptable, and does not deserve people's custom.

First Cod n chips I’ve had since the first lockdown. Always found them to be good from here but very disappointing today! Chips over-cooked, batter on the cod undercooked and stodgy.

Ordered for three of us, two cod’s and one haddock. The haddock wasn’t even lacked and we had to guess. The food was cold and we where missing the sauce we had ordered and paid for! Chose Salt and vinegar and got none. Food tasted bland and all in all was awful!! Would not recommend

We placed a large order on their website at 4:39pm on Saturday 31 October. It said delivery takes 45 mins. After two calls, the delivery arrived at 6:00pm, nearly an hour and a half later, but two sausages were missing. We then called only to be told that “they definitely included the sausages”. We asked for a refund for the sausages that weren’t delivered and a refund on the delivery fee and were initially told “no” but then after waiting on hold, they agreed. I appreciate they are very busy, but they shouldn’t be taking online deliveries if they can’t service them properly

We have had the pleasure of enjoying pre ordered fish and chips delivery for some weeks. Always delivered on time. The portions are generous and food of excellent quality. Highly recommended.

We had a lunch stop here on the way to Stonehenge. We ordered online 10 minutes before we arrived and the order was ready pretty much exactly when they said it would on the email confirmation. Huge portions of fish and chips for 7.5. Fresh and flaky cod, crispy but not super oily. Friendly service, amazing value and quality.

Used Seamaster Andover for the first time tonight. Food for 8. Delivered on time with good presentation. Quality very good. Enjoyed birthday experience - thank you very much

I have always rated Seamaster but tonight wow what a let down, first I wanted Cod Roe something I have had in the past and always had 2bits as one potion, well now it’s only one and they were most insistent on that, 2 no service with a smile,3 not even asked if we wanted salt and vinegar, infact the level of customer service was a big fat zero and I for one won’t be going back I am sorry to say. The whole experience was not good from start to finish , has this place changed hands or something because it really needs to review its customer service .......unhappy.com

Awful. Was 40 minutes late therefore the food was cold. Requested salt and vinegar, however it wasnt seasoned. Paid for a pot of curry sauce, not included upon delivery. Never again

Great for a sit in lunch the fish and chips are really good and the service is friendly i have been back loads of times.

Purchased Cod &chips this evening worst piece fish ever from Seamasters it was more like a thin slice of fish covered with lots of batter so dry..it's definitely gone down hill since first opened disgusting piece of fish or slice if you can call it that..won't be going there again.

Always great food when we go and get a take away.. Great chips and always cooked perfectly. Staff friendly and helpful.

When I placed my order they told me it will arrive in 45 minutes which it did but wasn’t my order. I rang them and explained the situation and told me my order had only just that second left so it will be about another 5 minutes. About 20 minutes had passed so I called again and asked for them where it was. They replied saying they will remake our order from scratch and will arrived in 30 minutes which again it didn’t so we called again and asked where it was and they said yet again it’s just left. The order arrived about 15 minutes after the last call. My over all waiting time was nearly 2 hours. Food was good but chips were raw. If you order from here then I recommend to collect rather than delivery.

The chips were raw.... tasted like peanut butter....🤢definitely would recommend! You can get it from somewhere else which is so much nicer 👍

Just ordered fish chips online Order came at the time they said,in fact it was about five minutes early. Great fish and plentiful chips. Also had a pea fritter which was tasty. Service quick prompt and food arrived hot. Highly recommended

This is one of the best fish restaurants in Andover, you can sit in or take away. The food is not at all greasy.

This is now our first choice fish and chip shop in Andover. Quick and efficient, I always collect in person, the fish is really well cooked, that is not overdone or dry. Very nice chips as well. Only had cod or haddock but always perfect. Heartily recommend.

This is the best fish & chip shop in town, generous portions, great service and they serve Rock Salmon which is my favourite. Extremely well cooked food that isn't greasy and well priced. Thoroughly recommend.

Ordered fish and chips online. Waited 50 mins for delivery did not arrive. Chased the restaurant and Manager was very, very rude and wanted to re deliver our order freezing cold. Asked for a refund as was told No. Would not use this restaurant again. Avoid at all costs. Very disappointed

Nice fish and chips here, and the portion is huge! I tried the fish and chips twice at this place, both times the fish was light and fluffy, the coating on the fish was crispy. Nice!

So friends recommended the Sea Master fish and chip shop to me in Andover Hampshire. What can I say, I have to be honest and say they were the most amazing yummy scrummy fish and chips I think I have ever had. The fish was cooked beautifully and melted in my mouth and the chips well light, fluffy and Moorish.

Been there a few times and it’s been fine but today this is an acceptable product to service to customers apparently. Disgusting. Definitely won’t be going there again after this, it’s quite obviously not good enough.

The first thing you notice is how warm welcoming and spacious this fish and chip shop is, unlike the others - this one benefits from having a dining area, the two main chefs certainly know their craft despite English not being their main language yet they cook our national dish to perfection.

First time visit today. Very impressed. Lovely haddock and chips. Literally the best batter ever - very crispy and no grease.

I have taken my wife and son here for several meals and can honestly say that the food was very good, hot and tasty.

Awful piece of fish this evening tasted off very dry and smelt funny shame as always liked your fish and chips ..the fish has not been that good last couple times recently..not sure If will buy again..was lovely when first opened with the previous owners.

I can not rate this restaurant highly enough they serve the best fish and chips in Andover and the eating in area is really clean and warm.

Cant argue best fish and chips in andover,been going here for months once a week fish and chip night,Would have given 5 star but for the fact might be petty but always get large chips but last 3 times large chips getting smaller and smaller each week,as for fish simply superb.

I never write a review unless something really impresses me. I have never been a huge fish and chips fan but after receiving my order from sea masters last night I have been converted, I will be getting my dinner from there every Friday from now on. Clean and tidy packaging, delivery in good time and the food was incredible. Didn't feel bad after consuming, and was left overly impressed, excellent job.

Rock and chips were both very nice as usual. We went in at 4.30 on Saturday afternoon, only one's in shop, 25 minutes to cook the fish. Sure it used to be 15.

Visited the sea masters this evening was bit disgusted to see the young girls serving food with there long hair hanging loose down pass their shoulders almost touching the food surely they should have hats on or hair tied as top knott out of the way of food the men have all got hats on.! I noticed all the staff in the kebab shop next door all had hats on..why havnt these young girls..bad hygiene I was surprised not to find a long hair in my lovely fish and chips..I hope next time we visit this has been rectified.!!!..

We have just visited Sea Masters for a take away fish and chips, we had a large cod and large chips; this was more than enough for two people, we had to throw some chips away because there was too much. The fish was excellent and the chips just right, all served in a box, the service was very quick and the staff friendly; will definitelybe going again.

We were on holiday in the area so tried this one night. We had rock and chips which was really good. A really 'meaty' fish. We had a short wait as the fish was cooked fresh but worth it. others in the group had cod and chips and pie and chips.all very good.chips lovely and crispy but soft in the middle and crispy batter on the fish. We had them with curry sauce and mushy peas, again very good! Would highly recommend

I had to wait 40mins for a takeaway. Food was nice, but customers who came in after where warned about the wait. And walked out. Hope this improves!

First things first: the food was good. Not excellent, but good. Actually I'll quantify that a bit clearer. The fish and chips was good, and the sausage was beautifully cooked. The curry sauce was luke warm at best.

Chips really greasy. Fish cold and paid for mushy peas but got tinned marrofat ones. Surely this is against the trades descriptions act!!!! Really expensive too.

Been there on two occasions in the evening to try out the restaurant been closed both times despite it stating closes at 10pm. Made a third trip down on on Saturday 23rd April with myself and family at 9:05pm and was told we couldn't be served in the restaurant due to it closing. I said to the man behind the counter it states on your door you don't close till 10pm? He just said well we are closing. As this was the third time I have tried to purchase from your business I had to go to next door in frangos with my guests. Very disappointed as this is a new business, it's not putting customers first at all. Due to the unsatisfactory customer service I have recieved you have now lost my custom. Such a shame that this happened.

Just been here for the first time today, best cod, lovely chips, huge children's meals and lovely choice of grilled fish, if you haven't tried this I would highly recommend.

Recently opened with what must now be the best fish and chips in town, good sized portions and an excellent selection of things other than just fish. Lets hope it doesn't get too popular and affects their service and quality. Plenty of nearby parking so no need to park outside in the taxi rank.

Went recently sat in restaurant fish was OK chips were reheated not cooked fresh very expensive for reheated fish and chips would not go again.

Hope not too many people find this restaurant. Good honest Fish & Chips cooked to order, superb portions, great service and very reasonably priced. This was our first visit and it won't be our last. Excellent all round.

Tried for the first time tonight, couldn't fault it. Served very quickly (even cooked to order) food delicious and good sized portions. We won't be going back to our old regular unless they up their game to the same or higher standard. Would highly recommend.

My daughter and I thought we'd pop in before starting Christmas shopping. A pleasant welcome from a young girl who couldn't be more helpful.it's not fine dining but good food and reasonable prices. I would definitely go again

Food here is very nice and good value for money. You do have to wait a while sometimes, but putting down to teething problems.

I have had takeaway fish and chips here twice now.

First visit tonight, stopped in for something to eat before the switching on of the lights and fireworks. Unfortunately the food was taking too long so I asked if we could change the order to takeaway but obviously would still pay sit in prices. To be fair it was my decision to change the order. However the owner apologised for the wait and would take no payment for the takeaway which I wasn't expecting. Thank you very much and I will certainly be back for another visit as the food was lovely and the portions were a good size.

As both my husband and I work in andover we have treaded ourselves to fish n chips from here and never a fault the food was lovely not dripping in oil and the service was fast and very polite in fact we are having this tonight 6/11/15 and really looking forward to it

First visit to Sea Masters impulse visit wet day and I did not want to start cooking when I got home, decided to have sit down meal.

We tried this establishment for a second time, after our first was so disappointing. But, thought it was still worth giving it another chance.

We popped into this modest establishment for quick lunch and was surprised by the quality of the food, the service and size of the portions. Very good value for money!

Had an unplanned trip here recently as on the way home from town and had a peckish teenager in tow - we both chose a large bag of chips from the takeaway

We tried this new upmarket Fish and Chip shop/restaurant last night and it was superb! The fish was in a light non-oily batter and the chips were fluffy. They even do grilled Seabass and Salmon! Highly recommended!

Very disappointing: we went in there early on a Saturday evening when only four other tables were occupied, and all of them had eaten, or were already eating.

Visited on a Friday evening. Probably had the best chips I have ever had, and definitely the best in Andover by far, lovely clean looking business, however..... they really let themselves down with their painfully slow service, probably the slowest service I have experienced in quite a few years. It was a 20min wait for sausage and chips, and it wasn't even that busy, some people were even asking for

Although the service was a bit slow - we were the only ones in the restaurant - food was excellent. Best fish and chips we have had in Andover since we moved here 8 years ago. Puts all the other fish and chip shops to shame.

Loved my first visit here and had really nice fish and chips, only minor thing was no brown sauce on offer but the food was great and fresh so I had tomato sauce for a change and next time will keep some brown in the car - loved it!

I visited this restaurant and had my food to take away. The premises are immaculate and the staff are very friendly. Our food was cooked to order and it was superb.

I have just registered this place on Trip advisor as it has only been open for 1 month but oh boy it is fantastic.
