Sea Front Chippie in East Riding of Yorkshire

Been afew times before. As good as ever. Lovely fish and chips and sausage for my trusty dog. Good value for money. Not dog friendly but the very friendly guy came to door to take my order. There are a couple of steps, but if you can't manage them there's a bell and again they come you. Can recommend this chippy.

It's hard to find a good fish and chips shop these days..usually overcooked and greasy..But haddock and chips from this popular fish and chips shop in Hornsea the Fish and chips were cooked to perfection while you wait...We will definitely return next time we're in Hornsea...and follow with one of their ice creams.. delicious !!

Really lovely fish but super rude service! Asked to stand outside (in the rain) until we were called to order despite the place being empty. After ordering told to stand across the road until food ready. Loud comments made by woman serving when we tried to shelter from the rain. Felt very unwelcome and like a nuisance not a customer.

Recently voted among the UK's Top 50 Best Fish & Chip Shops ... why I have NO idea! The "Regular" Size portion of Fish & Chips is exceptionally small & while the fish was tasty enough the chips seemed like "re-heats' and both were very greasy. Staff keep to minimal interaction with customers, no 'thanks for your custom', 'enjoy your food' or any of those niceties here. We would NEVER return here.

Regular fish was tiny, greasy and tasted of cheap cooking oil....not beef fat. Pot of peas was ridiculously small and tasteless. Chips were old , cold and dry. Service was almost mute and depressing. Basically, it is a rip off!

A great little chip shop for take away to sit by the sea. They do a brilliant pensioners special, that with a cuppa by the sea, perfect!

Visited on a Sunday and happy to see it open. Ordered large fish which was cooked to order. Was excellent. Fresh, solid and meaty. Sat on the benches provided outside with a great view of the waves crashing over the top. Highly recommended

Visited for the first time today after returning from a wedding and couldn’t be bothered to cook ourselves . Under new ownership and the couple couldn’t have been nicer . All staff spoke well and showed interest but more importantly the Fish and chips were fantastic, well cooked to order and piping hot . We will definitely be back again .

This is the best chippy in the area. Unfortunatly raining so ate in car. Usually eat on beach or promeade nearby. They are cheaper than Sullivan's and tastier. Good value and very fresh.

We went into Sullivan’s as they used to do a deal for 2 but not anymore. I presume they want to pay for the refurb as it would have cost over £20 for 2 portions with all the trimmings. We looked at the menu and walked out, headed straight back to our favourite chippy and was not disappointed. £10.45 for fish n chips twice, peas, curry sauce. Lesson learned, stick to what you know

Lovely sea side chippy where you can buy freshly cooked quality fish and chips then eat them by the beach!! Very good value and very friendly service. Not a restaurant but excellent take away. Serves tea coffee and ice cream too. Try the Yorkshire fish cake!!

Lovely fish and chips, friendly staff. I usually go to Whiteheads, but this was nearer. And I distort regret it. The Haddock was nicely fried and the chips were better than average. I would recommend you trying this if you normally go elsewhere in Hornsea. I will be back!

Piping hot, cooked to order, really tasty, reasonably priced fish and chips. Sat eating them on the promenade with the sun streaming down. Perfection 😁

Across the road form the promenade/esplanade this is ideally located to feed the hungry beach hordes and strolling holidaymakers. They work hard here to keep the queue moving and cook fresh. They do an excellent job of both even when some haste in serving caused one young server to mistake his hand for the hot gravy/curry sauce pot. A credit to the management that they treated him, rearranged staff and made sure staff and customers were all well treated and served. And you can take your takeaway to seats outside the Coco breeze with lovely sea views.

Best fish & chips we've tasted in a long while and their pensioners special was just the right amount for a good price.

First time in Hornsea, spent a few hours on the beach with the kids and then headed across the road to the seafront chippy. Fish was freshly fried to order and was perfect. Fresh, soft, succulent fish and hot crispy batter. The chips were fresh as well. Can't recommend this fish and chip shop highly enough. I'd give them more stars if I could.

Came across this chippy a while back and they were the best fish and chips i've ever had. Went back whilst out on the bike and they were still as scrummy.

My wife and I visited Hornsea for a bracing walk by the seaside. We have usually visited either of two other larger fish and chips restaurants in the local area (of which I won't mention) but on recommendation by several friends chose the Seafront Chippy.We ordered medium haddock and chips twice, at a combined cost of £10. This cost is very reasonable for the area.We found a bench overlooking the beach, and started on our meal. The fish was battered perfectly, albeit a tad smaller than expected, but as fresh as you could get. The chips were portioned well and cooked to perfection.Although we have had larger portions elsewhere, there was still plenty for each of us. It was delicious, and we shall choose this chippy again. Worth the money.On sauntering around Hornsea, we checked the quality, size, and prices of nearby chippy's fish and chips, we came to the conclusion that we had made the right choice. Just the job, loved it.

Simply the best pensioners fish and chips. Cooked to order. Sensible portion size. Quality food. Eat looking over the North Sea on a sunny day. Perfect.

We visit Hornsea regularly and there are many excellent chippys. However, we keep going back to Seafront Chippy! The world seems a happy place when you are sat looking at the sea with their fish and chips. We enjoy the simple things of life. Perfect!

Haven't been here for a while and as we were in Hornsea we had to go here. The fish was amazing and huge and the chips done to perfection. Fabulous !!

I had a lunchtime special, fish, chips and peas. Disgusting, even my dog turned his nose up. They were cooking to order. The batter was greasy, no crispness at all to it, soggy. The chips were not of good quality potatoes, and hardly cooked. The portion size was minimal. The staff weren't all that friendly, they looked unhappy. On a positive, this chip shop is in a prime location overlooking the sea. Don't let that tempt you. Sorry

visited and found the staff are helpful and the food is fresh and plenty within the portion. The prices are very good, not too cheap and not too expensive either.

It had been a few years since i visited the sea front chippy it used to be excellent but now its not guess its a change in ownership. I had the haddock and chips the chips where ok at best but the fish was awful tasted like cheap oil not great wont be returning unfortunately shame cause it used to be good

Don't be put off by appearances.the shop front isn't confidence inspiring,but the food is cracking and plentiful!

This is an excellent fish and chip shop. It is freshly cooked as ordered when you walk through the door. We ordered pensioners fish and chips as was very filling for a lunchtime ate on the sea front watching the waves. Had them Tuesday and so good had them Thursday as well. Thursday was a bit cold and windy so sat in the car eating them. Great value even for the full regular size. My photo is the same as yours.

We had fish and chips while sat on the front, the chips were mediocre and the fish was very dry . Shame as the position is perfect for sitting looking out to sea with most people's favourite meal.

We caught it open just in time they were getting ready to close. Asked for very lightly battered fish and thats what we got, it was delicious.The 2 lads serving were friendly, and it was a change to get what we asked for, nobody seems to be able to lightly batter a fish.Great location.

We use this Chippy every time we come to Hornsea for the day. Good quality and quantity. The Freshly cooked fish is beautiful and tasty, the chips are not at all greasy and nicely cooked. This popular Chippy can get very busy at peak times and you may have to wait in a bit of a queue but it is worth the wait. They also do pensioners fish and chips with a smaller fish and portion of chips which is good value too. They also provide drinks and ices. Would recommend over other chip shops in the area as we have always enjoyed their products. They were closed once and we used another shop and it was nowhere near as good. A few steps to get to the counter and also you can sit outside on the limited number of tables but we usually take our meal over the road and sit on the promenade.

Fast service, cheapish and very a friendly place. The lady that serve us was very polite and funny with it too. We had the large fish chips and mushy peas and it was very nice indeed.

I live locally and have tried them all over the years but there's only one that delivers time after time and the lads here are welcoming and go the extra mile good old fashioned manners and a smile go a long way and of course great fish and chips well done lads highly recommend this chippy

Me and my husband visited here on a very hot and busy Saturday lunch time, we ordered 2 regular fish and chips and we were served very quickly and professionally with top quality products.

Yo realmente no tienen bastante esto se refiere al delfín del tamaño de las porciones (muy) grande. El bateador fue hecho a la perfección como vas te preguntan sino cualquier pescado, wam que ciertamente sabemos que están frescos. Un montón de patatas fritas. Una pequeña mesa para sentarse en el interior, pero la mayoría de ellos tomó o casa o sentarse en el frente.

Normalmente tienen pescado y patatas fritas de Whiteheads, pero estábamos fuera, el sol brillaba y nos apetecía algo de pescado y patatas fritas y mirando al mar. . £5 para regular el pescado y patatas fritas una buena relación y que era. Pescado excelente, pasta, patatas fritas y bien caliente. No puedo quejarme de esta expecto y volveremos la próxima vez que me apetece un aperitivo. Perfecto.

En húmedo lunes a mediodía encontramos este "fish and chips" por casualidad. El pescado y las patatas fritas eran los mejores que he tenido en mucho tiempo. Teníamos restos así - algo que no había encontrado antes. El personal era muy amable y servicial. Volvería de nuevo si estábamos en Hornsea.

Just popped in as family. Had fish and chips 4 times with curry sauce and mushy peas. The staff were very polite and courteous and the food was delish and reasonibly priced especially as it is on the seafront.

Had the fish & chips very good . Had smaller portions, but enough. Kids had sausage chips ,drink , ice cream all for £2.75 very good value. Great little chippy plus good value.

After a long walk along the beach with friends, we called at this place for fish and chips (on their recommendation), I was not disappointed, they were wonderful. I'll be back next year for some more!

You can keep your tasteless Sullivans & your overpriced Whiteheads this is still the best value for money chippy in Hornsea.Been coming to Hornsea with nieces,nephews etc. over many years & will always go to the "Seafront Chippy".

We ordered 3 pensioners specials (I know we are not pensioners but always decent size previous) was disappointed with the size of the pensioner fish having been using this chip shop in Hornsea for at least 4 years the size of fish has decreased. Could quicken the q if staff asked you if you would like fish once you walk in also. Chips and fish was cooked perfect including my partners well done fish and sat opposite near the kids pool is very pleasant. Will use again but we will have to up our fish size so will order medium fish and share a bag of chips in future.

This is one of the better chippies in Hornsea, they are not swimming in grease, unlike some of the other sea front chip shops. Tasty freshly cooked chips.

We have used the seafront chippy for a couple of years and have always found the food to be well cooked and prices to be good value.

Nunca ir allí de nuevo, la lista de precios dice pescado no dice que el pescado pero cuando pregunté me dijeron que era abadejo pero me permito diferir porque parecía y sabía nada como eglefino!! Si su venta eglefino, entonces debe anunciar como tal si has nada que esconder!! No estaba muy caliente o las patatas fritas eran ligeramente cálida no es barato!!

Just called in this chip shop after visiting hornsea on a very wet day.called to free port to have a look around shops then on to sea front .called in local shops such as herons & coop to purchase goods before heading back to our camp site at skipsea.

These were the best fish and chips I've ever had sat on the seafront eating them and felt like going back in to complement them. I live to far to go again but tempted.

Right on the promonard this was perfect for a lunch time as we sat looking over at the sea, they do a good deal for kids wit a small ice cream included

we got fish and chips for £4.50 ,which is reasonable, you can get cheap deals for £3 ,including a drink.They were very tasty.

Visitamos el mar "fish and chips" en un domingo frío frío en febrero. Todos tuvimos algo diferente y cada uno era precioso. También tuvimos una taza de té cada una, que era una maravilla. El personal era muy rápido ya que había una gran cola, que también fue muy amable. Sin duda que volveré.

A menudo llamada a esta "fish and chips" a la hora del almuerzo y deleitarse con el pescado en el "pensionistas y patatas fritas". Esto es siempre un auténtico lujo. Compramos nuestra pescado y patatas fritas aquí en vez de nuestro gran error Chippie usual!!. Disfrutamos de una comida tamaño titular antes que hemos tenido en muchas chippies pero esto es, de lejos, el peor. El tamaño de los peces no era más grande que un dedo de pescado de hecho no se puede incluso probar el pescado. Las patatas fritas no estaban muy mal pero sólo una pequeña parte y una pequeña cucharada de guisantes que costaba 70 p extra. Nos quedamos muy decepcionados y no será otra vez.

Soggy batter, greasy fish, chips swimming in oil. All they need to do is turn the pans up to a reasonable temperature and they could start selling edible food!

La calidad y la cantidad de pescado y patatas fritas eran excelentes y con una buena relación calidad-precio. Sin duda recomendaría probar el mar Chippie cuando estás en Hornsea, ¡no te defraudará!

Paramos aquí para el almuerzo en el camino al ferry Zeebrugge. Nos esperábamos un almuerzo rápido ya que el pub cerca había una de 40 minutos de tiempo de espera para la comida! Aquí las colas son largas, aunque te dan comida en menos de 40 minutos, pero pronto descubrimos por qué. El pescado y las patatas fritas fue excelente! La hamburguesa de pollo era bastante estándar. aros de cebolla estaban recubiertas por un espeso pasta fue sugerida y salía caliente. Este restaurante es justo lo que establece que haga, que es proporcionar un buen plato de pescado y patatas fritas. Debe señalarse que el restaurante en sí no es accesible en silla de ruedas, ya que tienes que subir tres o cuatro pasos para poner una orden. Hay una silla de ruedas accesible wc en el otro lado de la carretera, que no pertenece al restaurante. mayoría de clientes se tome su comida, pero hay un par de mesas fuera donde te puedes sentar y disfrutar de su comida. Este lugar está recomendado si quieres buena calidad pescado y patatas fritas. Si tienes prisa, no obstante, se puede tocar y donde ir.

nuestra última visita esta encantadora "fish and chips" hace tres años y están dispuestos a informe todavía es excelente. A pesar de que llegamos 10 minutos después cierre felizmente preparado cuatro fresco pescado y patatas fritas que estaba todo delicias, sin duda la mejor que he encontrado en la zona.
