Sea Breeze in Gwynedd

We stayed for the weekend. The hotel is decorated well and the rooms very comfortable. Thr service is great. The food is exceptional. Beautiful fresh seafood and a variety of dishes. Breakfast was also fantastic.

Stunning food as ever, ate there two nights in a row! Staff were amazing, they rang to inform me I could dine earlier if I wanted and they reserved the window seat for me as it was my birthday. The ONLY place to eat when in Aberdovey; all the food was amazing but the halibut was to die for!

My wife and I had dinner here and we both chose the sea bass risotto, which was wonderful. This was a great place to eat, and I would thoroughly recommend it.

Absolutely stunned at the quality of takeout food. We had the Lamb Burger (local butchers) plus kids sausage (high quality) and chips and chicken and chips. Food was unbelievably delicious for a takeaway, generous portion sizes, piping hot and came with sauces, cutlery and napkins. Cannot wait to eat in the restaurant next visit.

A fantastic small restaurant. Great atmosphere, friendly and welcoming staff and simply the best quality of meals. Menu is varied and attention to detail is of the highest standard. Booking essential but a wonderful dining experience is guaranteed.

We can never fault Seabreeze! We have had wonderful breakfasts and dinners here countless times over the years, and it never fails to disappoint. If you're visiting Aberdyfi - get booked in!

Whilst the food was fine dining at its best the portions were exceptionally generous I had the slow cooked Confit Belly Pork cooked to perfection with very tasty crispy crackling and served with Carrot Purée, fondant potato, garlic kale ,apple cider jus ,caramelised apple and an amazing pork and black pudding croquet This was followed by a sweet of Eton Mess served in a large glass bowl and was the epitome of what an Eton Mess should look like and taste like. My wife had the Pan Fried local Sea Bass which came with Marinated Prawns and as my wife has an allergy to shellfish they removed these from the order without hesitation and assured her that there would be no contact whatsoever with any shellfish. She described the meal as exceptionally good and cooked to perfection She followed this with Ice cream based mango and passion fruit cheesecake and never having experienced this type of cheesecake before was pleasantly surprised and described it as delicious. The staff were all extremely polite pleasant and helpful throughout the meal and we have no hesitation in visiting again Thank you for a very pleasant and enjoyable evening all at the Seabreeze

Having spent the weekend enjoying great service and food at Nefyn and Caernarfon, we decided to stop on our way South to have a drink to break up the journey, and to see what the hype was about Aberdyfi. The choice was not great on a Sunday afternoon. We found that dogs were more welcome than humans in this little seaside town, with one small shop dedicated wholly to dogs and doggy ice cream. Anyway, having walked one way along the front and finding nothing that invited us in, we walked back towards the car park and saw that there were people sitting outside Sea Breeze having drinks. The outside seating area was full, so we entered into the indoor seating area where whom we presumed to be the owner/manager was busy on the phone. Another lady was seated at a table beyond the bar/reception area reading a paper. With two of our group of four having taken seats at the window to enjoy the view, the lady who had been seated reading the paper approached and we asked about drinks. She rather smugly informed us that they were only serving drinks for people in the outside seating area. One of our party explained that the outside seating area was full, the lady/female then sarcastically shrugged her shoulders, raised her arms and smirked. This is not a welcoming establishment, the lady who dealt with us needs to have lessons on how to deal with customers in the hospitality sector, poor show. You have ensured that a group of four people will never enter the seaside town, or spend money at Aberdyfi ever again. I would advise this lady to take a trip up to the Lleyn Peninsula or Caernarfon in order to take lessons in how you should deal with customers. Remember, every person who has a negative experience on average tells 7 people. When you treat people with contempt word will get around.

We have stayed here many times. The food is superb in the restaurant. I had the best lobster I’ve ever had. The rooms are great especially with a sea view. All the staff are friendly and helpful and do a great job looking after their customers. Thanks guys and see you again soon.

Absolutely fantastic meal. Great value and portion sizes. We had the mussels, which came in a delicious sauce, with ample chips and bread. We ordered onion rings and a side salad too, but when our mains came, they had forgotten about all of the sides. The staff acted quickly to rectify the situation, giving them free of charge. They were worth the wait- so delicious, and the onion rings were indeed enormous! A great choice of drinks too. Overall, the best meal we had in our week's stay in aberdovey.

What a great place to stay . Staff were polite, helpful and made us feel welcome . Excellent bar where we were able to take our drinks outside and sit and watch the world go by . Our room was very spacious indeed and had a super comfy bed, which was just the job with all that sea air. The room was very clean and airy and included a coffee machine with pods. There is plenty of room which means a sofa is included. We had an evening meal in the delightful restaurant, on our first night. The tables are well spaced apart. The staff are so friendly and helpful and seem genuinely happy working there. My wife had haddock and chips. The fish was beautifully cooked and very large fillet. I had "whole Carmarthen Mackerel". When it arrived there were 3 fish. It was absolutely delicious and so fresh. There is a wide range of choice for breakfast. The breakfast each day was a delight and a great start to the day. I had the vegetarian breakfast on the last day, and the home sausages were far and away the best veggie sausages I have ever tasted. A perfect holiday in the most perfect accommodation. 10 out of 10 and some.

Our 2 night weekend stay was a delight. The accommodation was inexpensive but would need a little more attention to detail to be truly stand. However this did not detract from our stay especially given the price point. Breakfast was fabulous on both days although the 8-9:30 time frame is rather miserly for a weekend in a holiday resort, especially given that they serve breakfast to take out until 11am. Dinner in the restaurant is highly recommend and once again good value. My wife’s half lobster was particularly impressive vfm. The service from Abbey was excellent. Top Tip: If you are staying check in before paying for parking as they offer discounted parking passes for residents

Situated at one end of Aberdyfi in a B & B, I was surprised by the quality of this restaurant.Lovely food, great wines and lovely staff served us a selection of starters and mains throughout our stay there. The food was excellent and we all raved about the quality. Good sized portions too.Total bill including starters, mains and drinks between 4 was under £120. Great value and worth every penny.

So, I booked the Seabreeze several weeks ago just for a change of scenery.Our room was comfortable, clean, & tidy and had everything necessary for a short break. We enjoyed our breakfasts each day and the two dinners we had were absolutely great!The staff at the Seabreeze were very friendly and accommodating.Due to unforeseen circumstances at home we had to cut our stay by two days and even in these circumstances they were very helpful.I highly recommend a stay here!!

This has got to be one of the bast places I have eaten in a very long time. I travel for my job all over the world and eat at some amazing places and this place is among one of my favourite places to eat. The staff were really friendly but the food was amazing. A must if you are in the area

We had made a reservation 7 weeks previously by phone. We'd booked a table for 6 people for our last night on a family & friends holiday. We turned up bang on time, only to be met with blank faces - they had no record of our booking. After an initial response suggesting that we had made a mistake I was able to prove with a record on my mobile phone (time, date, duration) of my call to book the table. They looked to see if they could accommodate our party that evening - and rang another local restaurant on our behalf - but ultimately were not able to help us. We had travelled specifically to the restaurant from our accommodation in Derwenlas, a drive (in two cars) of almost 1/2 hour. This is the first time ever that I have had a restaurant fail to honour a booking that had been made. I can't comment on the food but felt aggrieved enough at what had happened to do this review. They took my number, saying that they would look into what had happened (we have yet to receive an explanation) and that they would advise us of any cancellation that night (which they did, quite late on as they had had a 'No Show'). As regards the latter, unfortunately, we had needed to get something to eat so had gone back to Machynlleth.Personally, if I'd have been running the place, I'd have considered offering some recompense for our wasted journey as a gesture of goodwill. Perhaps that's just my approach/attitude to taking care of a very disappointed (potential) customer.

Recently stayed in Aberdyfi and having eaten at Seabreeze previously wanted to book a table which wasn’t to be as it was completely booked up. I opted for the takeaway and ordered on the app which was easy, the food was excellent, gorgeous seafood, the service was excellent as well especially helpful when we had to sort out a pick up time. I would definitely book again...in advance!
