Sea Breeze Fish Bars in Cheshire West and Chester

We ordered spring rolls but didnt realise they were missing until we got back home (huntington), would have taken too long to get back to seabreeze without food going cold.

Super friendly staff, food is stunning, almost didnt come here from the bad reviews, so glad i did, portion was absolutely massive...my only gripe is that they didnt use heinz ketchup or similar.. just great overall

I need to leave a new review!! It was absolutely awful!!! Chips were half cooked and black!!! Curry sauce tasted like ketchup… one of the worst meals I’ve ate in a while… Will definitely not return unless they sort it out… disgusting… couldn’t eat it. I'm a bit surprised by the previous comments...how could this place be worse than with the previous owners??? I haven't ventured to sea breeze for quite a while as the previous owners couldn't cook!!! since I heard it had been taken over I thought I would give it a try and I have to say I was very pleased....no grease in sight unlike before! ...will definately return...and so what if they have adapted the menu slightly isn't that what all good businesses do...adapt to there clientele. I say good luck to the new owners!

Tried delivery for the first time and wasn't disappointed. It was really easy to order on the app and arrived within the estimated time. The food was delicious, highly recommend the prawn toast, best I've ever had.

Fish was great, chips were like cardboard, the chinese food was ok, but incompetently prepared with the chop suey roll only cooked after everything else (taking 20 minutes) and only then did they cook the battered sausage!

I’ve lived in the local area for years and had a great deal of respect for this chippy, which used to be consistently reliable. Unfortunately, over the past 6–8 months, the quality has dropped significantly and it no longer lives up to its former standards. While the prices were once fair for the quality offered, the current experience just doesn’t justify the cost. I’ve tried to give it the benefit of the doubt, but sadly, I think it’s time to move on.

Easy to order, arrived on time and the food was delicious.

Didn't realise until I got home, was sadly given chicken in black bean not beef, and also forgot to include the prawn crackers.

Avoid!!! Absolutely awful. Took almost two hours to deliver 2 x fish and chips, nuggets and a sausage. Chips totally inedible. After complaining just eat refunded £6.50 as a “good will gesture” if I could give a zero star I would!

Very small portions compared to normal not even half full containers wasn't happy but food was ok .

Ordered on Deliveroo at 7:11pm … it’s now 9:07pm and food just got here Food cold,order wrong.. should be 2 fish 1 chips nope other way round … Poor service and nothing worth ordering from again!!!! Rude staff who don’t know how to communicate with people.

Still waiting for my food delivery from Friday. Cannot contact this shop at all. I have left a voicemail but had no response. I have emailed twice but still no answer. Will I ever get my Friday night takeaway...I've more faith in Ant & Dec delivering my chicken fried rice than this place!! At a total loss.

Avoid avoid avoid!!! Not sure why we have given this place so many chances. Always late on orders. Currently 45 minutes late and no ability to cancel. I am never EVER using this place again for food. Currently having the freezer scrounge for dinner at 9:15 on a Friday evening. Just don’t take Deliveroo/just eat orders if you can’t fulfil them. So annoyed!!

Awful. Not sure why we have given them repeated chances. Always late on orders. Currently waiting for an order I placed at 19:37 (it’s now 21:07). No updates. No way to cancel. It’s always like this. Never. Ever. Again. Go to Sainsbury’s frozen aisle and save yourself the disappointment.

The fish & the chicken were very nice unfortunately the chips we received dome were cooked some were hard & undercooked.

Ordered chips, boiled rice and sweet and sour chicken and it was horrendous absolutely tasteless a jar of Uncle Bens sweet and sour from Tescos would have tasted better. Never again will go straight to a Chinese for a take out so disappointed first time last time.

Order took an hour and a half to arrive. Was missing chips to go with a dish. There was a hot and sour soup which wasn't ordered in the bag. Tried to ring on several occasions but no one would answer the phone. Would not recommend this place if I am honest.

I'm not going to offer stars I want to say to after using your service for about 9 months and recieving excellent food and service i was very disappointed today with the food I received the meat in the curry tasted a bit off, as if on the turn and the noodles were quite overspiced. I can only assume that your normal chef was not on duty. I hope that this is a one off as I would not want to shop elsewhere.

When I got home I found the spring rolls were missing from my order. Additionally theportions have reduced significantly making the order poor value. Not happy and could not report the missing items on the app.

The delivery was late, the food was cold and all had to be microwaved. The food itself was very tasty.

Ordered at 18.10 with expected delivery at 19.15 at 1945 we tried to call which nobody answered for 8 calls, even sent an email asking if we were getting the food at 20.30 my wife started making my daughter pasta as she was very hungry after her day at school. Food turned up at 20.35. Shocking service that nobody would answer the phone or tell is the food was going to be late, very late. Won't be ordering from sea breeze again, it takes seconds to answer a phone call and explain if there is a delay.

Ordered food for delivery, never turned up. After ringing 20 plus times with no answer drove there to see where food was. Even tho £40 was taken from account for order they made out order wasn’t received. Gave me £2.50 back for delivery!!! Wow thanks 👍 gone down hill since take over , used to be great. Messing up orders left right and centre whilst in there too, joke 😂

AVOID AVOID AVOID Ordered at 18:09 expected delivery 19:15 It is now 20:20 Nobody will answer the phone, rings for 10 seconds then keeps saying mailbox is full goodbye and the phone cuts off. Even emailed them as not a clue if we are getting food or not. Absolutely horrendous never ordering from here again.

We added a note to our order as my sister is vegetarian and wanted a veggie version of a dish on the menu. I got a phone call to confirm the request was accepted. Excellent service and fantastic food!

Always good from here. My hubby has Chinese and me good old fish and chips and sometimes chicken fried rice. Always hot and always delicious. 1 of my fave chippys. Cheers guys

Recently been back a couple of times after months of not great food and service...absolutely thrilled it seems back on track with different staff and foods was fab

You're peas are so hard. You don't soak them long enough. Standard procedure for a chippy. They are awful. Really miss the Chinese family that had it a few years ago They did a fantastic job on all the food.

First time ordering from here. Delicious and delivered quickly. Could do with some salt and vinegar though. But ordering online was super easy and convenient!

Food ordered at 5pm. Surprisingly arrived at 5.30. Fish was cold and dry. Looked like it was left over from lunchtime. (Usually so nice) chicken and mushroom pie was nice but lukewarm. Had to put in microwave. Chips were nice but cold. Microwave again. Peas were nice but cold. NOT PLEASED AT ALL when you spend over £20 you expect food to be nice. Sorry Seabreeze WON'T be using you again. Given you lots of chances. Used you nearly every week in lockdown.

Hot and sour soup, special curry with chips, prawn crackers. Chips were very pale and not brown and not very tasty, chips need a lot of work to make them more palateable as this lets the dish down ....Otherwise would have been 5 stars.

Speedy delivery as usual. Food good quality, although for some reason the chow mein dish this time was very salty. Pie was hot & delicious but the chips were lukewarm on arrival so had to be re-heated

Very disappointed, been using this place for years but recently seen a drop in standards, chips were not great and the steak pie was salty and not that edible, may give it another try but unless the business has changed hands I just don’t get it!

Great little place for a quick takeaway with a great variety of dishes

Our first time with you, the whole process of ordering on line really easy. We booked home delivery for between 7pm/7.30pm at approx 5.30pm. We then left the house to return for 7pm. Our food was delivered at 6.25pm, 35 mins early. When we got home the food was cold, but think that the food quality was good, spoiled by the fact it was cold.

Ordered fish and chips for myself and partner to be delivered. Arrived quickly, delivery guy was really friendly. Food was fantastic. Definitely be reordering.

Chicken in oyster sauce was disgusting and inedible. Had to throw it away despite having stood waiting for it for 35 mins. Very disappointing. Will not be going there again.

Never had a delivery problem before..but lasts was cold very cold..fish was squashed in the box..gravy and curry was squashed to where the lids had opened and spilt all out.

Avoid at all cost - ordered on JustEat and waited 1 hour 30 mins before getting a message to say it was delayed again. Cancelled the order on JustEat, no refund given as the food apparently had been prepared even though minutes earlier got a messaged saying it was delayed and would be prepared as soon as possible. Tried calling but no response - would not order from here again, absolute joke

Salt and pepper chips barely seasoned, no onions peppers or chilli with it. Soggy chips, dry chicken and flavourless beef and black bean, tastes like it looks - dirty water

Waited 1hr 45mins for delivery. Really disappointed. Feel like app users get pushed back. Called when it was 10 mins late was told it was being packed up as we spoke. 30mins later still hadn’t arrived. Don’t like being lied to. No apology or anything. Food might be okay but when it’s 40 minutes late there should be accountability. Gravy too strong and a bit curry tasting. Peas looked radioactive. Salt & vinegar order notes missed. Fish was good but one was not properly deboned. Chips were good. Do not recommend delivery. Go in and collect.

Heard it had been taken over by new management recently; it’s a lot better. Friendly staff, vibrant, most of all - food was great! Will definitely return soon.

Ordered a takeaway, king prawn chowmein. Those needle thin noodles, no veg save four tiny slices of onion. No juices whatsoever, very dry and overcooked. Six prawns and £10.80. Chips were certainly not fresh, dry and hard. Most of it went in the bin. Absolutely awful food.

I ordered a kids sausage meal. It came with no drink or chips. I paid £3.60 for a tiny sausage. Disgusting

Just been here and suggested I was over charged to be told that I had ordered the wrong thing. Didn’t question it any further thinking I ordered extra food by mistake and got home to find I got exactly what I ordered but was indeed over charged. Food was ok at best. Won’t be going here again

Food order easily place once the app was downloaded, we had a bit of a wait but it was Friday evening. The food tasted lovely, very nice and great portion sizes thank you.

Gutted this place has been taken over it was my local as a kid and I remaind a regular for me as an adult. I don't think il bother visiting now it has changed hands.

So expensive for the portion sizes. Chips are horrible and hard. So bad

Used to be really good here, just bought the smallest and most expensive portion of scrap ends. £3.70 for a small chips and the tiniest gravy, pish poor. Avoid at all costs, I’ll be driving over the the Wing Wah in handbridge from now on.

Normally have a Chinese meal, a fried rice or chow mein dish which is always good but went for fish and chips for a change. It was spot on, the fish was good size and chunky and crispy batter, plenty of chips as well so more than enough if you wanted to share.

Absolutely shocking food. Both main meals cold like it they hadnt been defrosted. Waterery and tasteless beef. Overly salty and I mean salty chicken dish. It's a shame as the take out used to be good All that refurbishment for discusting food.

Been coming here for about 5 years . Heard lots of bad things since the new ownership but thought it couldn’t be that bad . 15 minutes for a simple order of chicken wings and a hot and sour soup . The severe made 3 mistakes in 10 mins so if you are unfortunate enough to use this place please check your change . Upon leaving I opened my food to see it was completely the wrong item . On returning I got severe attitude from the till. This chippy used to be heaving . Never will I return .

I ordered from just eat and the delivery driver they went was awful ! he claimed to have rang me ‘9’ times when he never phoned once and we politely asked him to the close the gate he shook his head and slammed the gate to the point it nearly came of the hinges I have it all on record

The batter on the fish is the best I have ever had not at all soggy but beautiful brown and sooo crispy. Never had better any where, highly recommend try the fish

The worst thing to ever happen, to this once amazing chippy, was being taken over by "George"...it was owned and ran by Josh for over 25 years and was a raging success... I ordered chips and curry in a tray...they put a handful of chips in a burger size box, I queried this and they said yes they were small, so I asked for a medium but had to wait even longer for more to cook (£3!) and asked if the mild curry was fruity, they said yes...I received it wrapped after being taken in the back. The curry was not fruity at all, it was some weird yellow liquid slopped over the very undercooked chips...I got charged £4.20 for an inedible box of "food". The attitude of the clearly uninterested staff didn't help matters either. No doubt the owner will come on and play the victim whilst making slating comments about me and my review...but after reading some of their other replies, I can see the bigger picture here and it's not a pretty one. Needless to say I will never visit again, plenty of other quality places without the ridiculous prices and miniscule portion sizes.

The food was cold and quite rubbish to be honest. The service was alright. Average at best probably. I pre ordered food and came in to collect after the pick up time and they hadn’t actually started to prepare it so I had to sit and wait ages. It was all a bit meh. Wouldn’t go again.

Chips rock hard went in bin. Ribs tough and inedible binned them. Fish undercooked up soggy batter, chow mein cold meat looked awful. Chicken curry, plenty if chicken tasted OK but sauce thin and runny. I have deleted the app as I will never use this chippy again, even though I have used for last 8 years. Instead of refurbishment, should have hired a decent cook. Cost 34 quid. I may as well have binned the money.

Chips dry possibly reheated. Second consecutive time they were virtually unedible. When they're fresh OK.

Used to be good before the refurb, now the quality has dropped dramatically! As someone who would use the shop at least once a week, it's definitely time to find a new Chinese, would not recommend. So in response to your reply.... The reason for the poor review was a genuine disappointment, I was looking forward to the reopening, to the extent I would travel to georges in blacon while seabreeze was closed, the prices have gone up, the cost of everything is going up so not a major concern, but this coupled with the poorer ingredients and smaller portions, I just felt cheated. The prawn toast was a particular favourite, the portions size has dropped but it is thicker, meaning it doesn't look as appetising and when you bite into it it's just soggy on the inside. The chow mein is another dish that has had a major change, you used to get good amounts of the different meats, now the meat in the dish resembles pizza toppings. There seems to be alot of confusion on the new menu with the girl serving not really being sure what was and wasn't still on there, and the insistence on asking if I need a bag and then being charged for it just seems abit wrong in that setting. And the lack of card payments seems very unprofessional. All in all, these are the things that soured my experience, this isn't an attack, just a disappointed customer.

I’ve put all 1 stars purely because I ordered food at 18:02 and it arrived at 20:06 with ringing them at 19:30 saying the driver had left already so when food turned up item was missing and food was cold rang them and said we would make it again and send it back out as I wanted a refund but by this time I didn’t want to wait another amount of time so they have made £34 and we paid somewhere else to get food

Just waited 25 minutes for fish and chips, if they had said it would take that long I would have ordered something else, after a 13 hour shift on a cold oil refinery that's not what I need, try telling your customers about waiting times. Will never go there again. If I could put less than 1 star I would. Awful place.

Tried it for the first time recently, really nice never get much at chippies but it does its namesake well and has more variety than any chip I've personally seen.
