As alway 5 Stars best Chippy / Chinese in Chester by far..

Waited 1hr 45mins for delivery. Really disappointed. Feel like app users get pushed back. Called when it was 10 mins late was told it was being packed up as we spoke. 30mins later still hadn’t arrived. Don’t like being lied to. No apology or anything. Food might be okay but when it’s 40 minutes late there should be accountability. Gravy too strong and a bit curry tasting. Peas looked radioactive. Salt & vinegar order notes missed. Fish was good but one was not properly deboned. Chips were good. Do not recommend delivery. Go in and collect.

Heard it had been taken over by new management recently; it’s a lot better. Friendly staff, vibrant, most of all - food was great! Will definitely return soon.

Ordered a takeaway, king prawn chowmein. Those needle thin noodles, no veg save four tiny slices of onion. No juices whatsoever, very dry and overcooked. Six prawns and £10.80. Chips were certainly not fresh, dry and hard. Most of it went in the bin. Absolutely awful food.

I ordered a kids sausage meal. It came with no drink or chips. I paid £3.60 for a tiny sausage. Disgusting

Just been here and suggested I was over charged to be told that I had ordered the wrong thing. Didn’t question it any further thinking I ordered extra food by mistake and got home to find I got exactly what I ordered but was indeed over charged. Food was ok at best. Won’t be going here again

Food order easily place once the app was downloaded, we had a bit of a wait but it was Friday evening. The food tasted lovely, very nice and great portion sizes thank you.

Gutted this place has been taken over it was my local as a kid and I remaind a regular for me as an adult. I don't think il bother visiting now it has changed hands.

Used to be really good here, just bought the smallest and most expensive portion of scrap ends. £3.70 for a small chips and the tiniest gravy, pish poor. Avoid at all costs, I’ll be driving over the the Wing Wah in handbridge from now on.

Normally have a Chinese meal, a fried rice or chow mein dish which is always good but went for fish and chips for a change. It was spot on, the fish was good size and chunky and crispy batter, plenty of chips as well so more than enough if you wanted to share.

Absolutely shocking food. Both main meals cold like it they hadnt been defrosted. Waterery and tasteless beef. Overly salty and I mean salty chicken dish. It's a shame as the take out used to be good All that refurbishment for discusting food.

Been coming here for about 5 years . Heard lots of bad things since the new ownership but thought it couldn’t be that bad . 15 minutes for a simple order of chicken wings and a hot and sour soup . The severe made 3 mistakes in 10 mins so if you are unfortunate enough to use this place please check your change . Upon leaving I opened my food to see it was completely the wrong item . On returning I got severe attitude from the till. This chippy used to be heaving . Never will I return .

Great food, speedy & friendly delivery as always! One small comment would be to point out in the menu description that 'peking' contains chillies! I ordered crispy shredded chicken peking style, which, as it had no indicators next to it, I had assumed wouldn't be spicy but I was wrong! Needs to be clear that the dish contains chillies, in case of allergies.

Food nice. But would have been nice to know there were red chillies in it. I could not eat it. It was chicken with peking sauce. I googled peking sauce and it said garlic and scallions. Nothing about chillies.

The batter on the fish is the best I have ever had not at all soggy but beautiful brown and sooo crispy. Never had better any where, highly recommend try the fish

I ordered from just eat and the delivery driver they went was awful ! he claimed to have rang me ‘9’ times when he never phoned once and we politely asked him to the close the gate he shook his head and slammed the gate to the point it nearly came of the hinges I have it all on record

The worst thing to ever happen, to this once amazing chippy, was being taken over by "George"...it was owned and ran by Josh for over 25 years and was a raging success... I ordered chips and curry in a tray...they put a handful of chips in a burger size box, I queried this and they said yes they were small, so I asked for a medium but had to wait even longer for more to cook (£3!) and asked if the mild curry was fruity, they said yes...I received it wrapped after being taken in the back. The curry was not fruity at all, it was some weird yellow liquid slopped over the very undercooked chips...I got charged £4.20 for an inedible box of "food". The attitude of the clearly uninterested staff didn't help matters either. No doubt the owner will come on and play the victim whilst making slating comments about me and my review...but after reading some of their other replies, I can see the bigger picture here and it's not a pretty one. Needless to say I will never visit again, plenty of other quality places without the ridiculous prices and miniscule portion sizes.

Terrible. Stay away. Food went in the bin when I got home and opened it. When I called to complain, they didnt care. Save your money, go elsewhere

Food was not great; fish and chips were standard (perhaps even a slight improvement on the previous management), but the chinese food was poor and menu selection too limited (nothing with beansproauts!!), it was late for collection (about 15 minutes) and there was little in the way of "atmosphere".

The food was cold and quite rubbish to be honest. The service was alright. Average at best probably. I pre ordered food and came in to collect after the pick up time and they hadn’t actually started to prepare it so I had to sit and wait ages. It was all a bit meh. Wouldn’t go again.

Chips rock hard went in bin. Ribs tough and inedible binned them. Fish undercooked up soggy batter, chow mein cold meat looked awful. Chicken curry, plenty if chicken tasted OK but sauce thin and runny. I have deleted the app as I will never use this chippy again, even though I have used for last 8 years. Instead of refurbishment, should have hired a decent cook. Cost 34 quid. I may as well have binned the money.

Chips dry possibly reheated. Second consecutive time they were virtually unedible. When they're fresh OK.

Used to be good before the refurb, now the quality has dropped dramatically! As someone who would use the shop at least once a week, it's definitely time to find a new Chinese, would not recommend. So in response to your reply.... The reason for the poor review was a genuine disappointment, I was looking forward to the reopening, to the extent I would travel to georges in blacon while seabreeze was closed, the prices have gone up, the cost of everything is going up so not a major concern, but this coupled with the poorer ingredients and smaller portions, I just felt cheated. The prawn toast was a particular favourite, the portions size has dropped but it is thicker, meaning it doesn't look as appetising and when you bite into it it's just soggy on the inside. The chow mein is another dish that has had a major change, you used to get good amounts of the different meats, now the meat in the dish resembles pizza toppings. There seems to be alot of confusion on the new menu with the girl serving not really being sure what was and wasn't still on there, and the insistence on asking if I need a bag and then being charged for it just seems abit wrong in that setting. And the lack of card payments seems very unprofessional. All in all, these are the things that soured my experience, this isn't an attack, just a disappointed customer.

I’ve put all 1 stars purely because I ordered food at 18:02 and it arrived at 20:06 with ringing them at 19:30 saying the driver had left already so when food turned up item was missing and food was cold rang them and said we would make it again and send it back out as I wanted a refund but by this time I didn’t want to wait another amount of time so they have made £34 and we paid somewhere else to get food

First time going since it reopened. It used to be good but now its nore expensive and much lower quality. Fish and chips were awful. Fish batter saturated in grease. Made me feel sick. Not going back

Just waited 25 minutes for fish and chips, if they had said it would take that long I would have ordered something else, after a 13 hour shift on a cold oil refinery that's not what I need, try telling your customers about waiting times. Will never go there again. If I could put less than 1 star I would. Awful place.

Tried it for the first time recently, really nice never get much at chippies but it does its namesake well and has more variety than any chip I've personally seen.

We’re here in Chester for the weekend and having only got to our guest house at 7.30, popped round the corner for a chippy tea. I had chips, fried rice and curry sauce and my husband had steak pie and chips. Got back to the room at the Ba Ba Guest House so literally 2-3 mins away, and my husbands pie was cold. Not lukewarm but stone cold. As in it hadn’t been heated up at all. If it hadn’t of started pouring down with rain I’d have gone back to complain. Won’t be going back there whilst we’re here!!

This is not a fish and chip shop! Everything we tried to order was not a available- including vinegar on the chips! This is a Chinese takeaway which I am sure is lovely but it’s not a fish and chip shop! No cash, only card and the staff were rude and not friendly at all. We ended up having a sausage and very dry chips- wouldn’t recommend!

Had better! chips were not great, tables not big enough for larger groups. Service was quic, some staff were friendly on counter not ones bringing to your table

V disappointed … first visit and probably last. Fish not great… had been sitting around. Told 15 mins wait for a fresh one. Peas tasteless… needed seasoning and gravy like lumpy brown custard. Chips were good. Can’t speak for Chinese food as didn’t try any. Just got the impression no love or dare with what cooking and serving

Really sorry as have enjoyed meals up until today. Chips cold and tasted refried a lot of elements not correct in set meal special chow mein tasteless Had to go back to collect missing soups and exchange an incorrect dish. So my meal sat and was cold when returned. Was busy and maybe all staff not turned up. Not worth the expense and time.

Reasonable prices and good food. Seems very busy at popular times which is always a good sign.

Sadly been going to seabreeze for over 15 years. Had gradually gone downhill. I waited 3 Hours for delivery last week. By which time my mum had gone home and my daughter had gone to bed, I messaged them, no reply, no apology. Such a shame. Will never go there again after that.

Crappy chippy. Always closing early or closed because the owner is in the bookies over the street. Manager to get some chips and gravy and it was £4 WTF BANG AVERAGE CHIPPY - chips are crap and gravy is just the rank stuff from Lidl. Avoid these clowns

I’ve been coming here for years and years, ever since I was a kid, the food is always nice but recently since the new owners have taken over everything has become a smaller portion, in the past when it came to ordering day chips and stuff you would get a decent amount for what you pay for, once of the guys who is always by the till seems to give you so little for the price, it’s frustrating as when the girl next to him gave out a decent size, it feels like he would give you 3 chips and ask you for £5.00, I would like it if they gave more for the chips or they lower the price for what they give you. Really starting to get annoyed with what you get as it’s not worth the price.

Been in and ordered sweet & sour chicken and some how I got prawns in sweet & sour?! (Not very good organisation with not noing if someone could be allergic to fish!) Wasn’t very nice, no taste was very disappointing in our order! Before it changed hands this place, was absolutely brilliant so I don’t know what’s happened but definitely not going now again!!!

Absolutely amazing service. We ordered online and the food was with us in 14 minutes, which is a great delivery time. We were a little disheartened as the fried rice was missed off our order but I rang them up and they had a new one dropped off within 5 minutes. The food was delicious too. Very impressed and will definitely use again.

I ordered some food however I didn’t receive any cutlery which I asked for.it was taken back I had to wait and had to pay for delivery again. The food wasn’t close too any decent Chinese. The bloke on the phone didn’t care of have any remorse.

Oh dear! This place has really gone downhill... Normally order Fish, chips and curry sauce as a treat. The Curry has been watered down to near tasteless, and the where has the fish gone? The fish batter looked so greasy that I didn't fancy it so was very shocked to discover, after pulling all the batter off, that it contained several tiny pieces of overcooked rubbery inedible fish. This is not an isolated incident. I feel very ripped off!

Had a special omelette and the chicken was off. Has to be the worst chip shop in chester.would love to know the hygiene rating for this place. They also own Georges chip shop in blacon.

Delivery order of crispy chilli beef, egg fried rice and prawn crackers. The chilli beef strips were small and overcooked, could not taste the beef, just the batter. Rice was not great. Prawn crackers were yellow, couldn't bring myself to eat them.

Try ordering on the phone after 8 pm, just a joke.. they DO NOT ANSWER, ive actually stepped into the place.. called and they just leave the phone to ring... Surely George who owns it would be pi**Ed off, what a joke.

Always good from here. My hubby has Chinese and me good old fish and chips and sometimes chicken fried rice. Always hot and always delicious. 1 of my fave chippys. Cheers guys

The food is very bland. There used to be queues outside the door, now the place is vacant and clearly relying on marketing on just eat. Positives Staff are lovely

Ordered on just eat. We were having delivered to our hotel and had rung to confirm they new. Went and waited for delivery. App updated to 'enjoy your meal'. Rung restaurant and they said driver had rung five times and came to reception. Tried to say we'd put wrong number in just eat app, but we the received text from just ear asking us to call the restaurant as driver couldn't find us. Rang them again, very rude and said order was cancelled (could hear someone in the background saying 'nah, not doing it') even though they knew we had two children waiting for their dinner. Absolutely shocking, thank god for the McDonald's delivery app!

Shocking meal from here half a carton of crispy shredded beef. Rang to tell them just to be told 'that's the chefs portion' no apologies or offer of replacement hence the rating, really disappointing 😕

Ordered some meals an the crisp shredded beef we got was really disappointing. A half empty carton of mostly onion an sauce, few small pieces of crispy beef. I rang to explain only to be told that that is the portion size the chef gives. Never received such a small portion of food from anywhere before. Would no be purchasing again 😕

Apuled at the service I received , ordered from just eat £18.99 only had chicken & sweetcorn soup , salt & pepper squid , and salt and pepper shumi , took 1 & half hrs for it to come even though I ordered for 6 pm , had to phone up 4 times when it came I refused it as it would of been cold , sea breeze told me they would send fresh order out that took 40 mins as well , when I got it turned out it was the 2 HR late meal stone cold driver said next time go and collect it , cheeky person or what , I live 2 mins away from the sea breeze

Gone way down hill absolutely disgusting food, burnt chips tasted like reheated from previous day, batter on fish rock hard and fish was slimy not 100% cooked.

Arrived 20 minutes late and didn't even give us the correct order. My gf was expected to eat 2 lots of fried rice. Tried ringing them and no answer each time. Found a second number and the woman didn't seem to know what we were talking about and when we said we got a delivery on just eat she just said "we don't do deliveries" and hung up

Well what a disappointment, We have after a lovely day out decided to treat ourselves to a Chinese picky tea. We spent £35 on food to get home and be greeted by supposed Sweet and Sour King Prawn Balls but to our dismay we’re anemic transparent and cold prawn in some bland tasting coating of some description which fell off when picked up!, we had ordered Salt and Pepper Squid and Salt and Pepper King Prawns, these were coated in the same foul substance and then had 10lb of onions and masses of salt thrown over them, the same with the chips, the squid was from Some frozen food store which is the same as the chicken wings we ordered, some fake kfc chicken was what we received. We phoned the shop back up to inform them of this and ask could it be dropped back up to them for a refund, the man who answered informed me he was the person in charge, he was a rude obnoxious man who would not accept that what they advertise is very far from what they sell he said that this is there style and that the was they always serve food….. it is not I have been there many times before and have never felt so ripped off, we asked him whilst he was on the phone to taste the salt he had put on the food as it was enough to clog someone’s arteries and make them feel extremely sick and thirsty he said it’s the same sauce we have been using all week, I hope he isn’t just reusing and reusing what is not being used daily. He has now very kindly asked me never to return to the shop and says he has never had a complaint before…. Reading the below comments by everyone else I think he may be telling a bit of a lie as it’s very apparent that of late the reviews are not good. It’s really sad as we are very mindful when ordering food that we try and use people in our local community to help these small businesses, but I know for sure I will never recommend or never order again from there and I advise no one to ever get a takeaway from this joke of a Chinese takeaway!!
