Best Sunday roast I’ve had in ages!! Also says it’s closed on Sunday but it was very much open. Highly recommend. We walked from Lincoln and then got the train back. Made for a fantastic morning.

We live in the village of Saxilby and visit Scrummies regularly for an excellent breakfast. However we recently discovered that they are now open Sunday lunchtime for roast dinners and Friday evenings offering foreign foods. We went with family for a lovely Sunday roast, with all the vegetable trimmings. All freshly prepared with lovely fluffy yorkies. Our son and daughter in law went to the Tapas evening and had a wonderful time. They had never tried Tapas but do eat out in lots of quality places. They returned home to tell us that the quality of the food wouldn't be out of place in a good London restaurant and it far exceeded their expectations, being one of their best meals out ever. Wow...praise indeed. And you can take your own wine. So go on Saxilby, no need to travel, try Scrummies, which is also easily accessible for others in nearby villages, or even Lincoln by train. Well done to all those running Sunday lunches and Friday nights.

Saxilby is now complete with Sunday Lunch at Scrummies, recently introduced, we went on 29 October, and had a first class meal, it was really excellent, we have used Scrummies Monday to Friday, for several years, and have NEVER been disappointed, now that Sunday lunches are available, it provides a 7 day a week Restaurant, amazing quality, quantity and real enjoyment. The staff are really friendly, and the whole experience is first class. 10/10 for everything. Mike and Linda. Well Done 👍

Popped in to meet up with 2 friends who lived locally. Lovely place but the spiced carrot and parsnip soup today was foul! It was so spicy one mouthful was enough to taste and it went back. Could not taste the vegetables at all . Staff were adamant it was lovely and being asked to pay £5.50 for the bread and butter on the side of one plate was diabolical ! Really

Called in at this lovely little cafe in the delightful vilage of Saxilby for coffee and scones. The scones were were so delicious that we purchased some the following day to take home. The lunches sounded lovely, so we will make a point of visiting again when next in the area. Very friendly staff too.

We visited during the Scarecrow event during half-term. Staff all very friendly and couldn't do enough for you. They were rushed off their feet but service was good. Choice of sitting outside under a canopy. Food was delicious. Child friendly, we aren't from the village and were pleased to find such a good, little coffee shop.

Used Scrummies today to provide catering for our Granddaughters Christening. Service was 1st class throughout. Food was excellent, very good selection and very fresh. Everything was delivered in special cool bags and on covered serving platters, this made laying out very easy and stress free. Would recommend their services for any event.

Scrummies was the nearest cafe to the AirBNB we were staying at for just over a week. My partner is a coffee lover, so with lots of walking planned for our staycation, he needed almost daily caramel lattes! A quick search and this cafe was the closest, and had takeout options. And my partner was smitten with the great tasting coffee from sip one! We ended up returning for breakfast the following day, and then eating lunch there later in the week. Good food at good value. The cheesecake is especially good! Definitely a place to return to when we're next in the area. The staff are friendly, and there's easy parking nearby.

This friendly pleasant venue serves excellent coffee and first class cakes and we enjoyed the aroma of generous breakfasts being served in the late morning. The friendly staff explained how they had only opened about 14 months ago and inside and outside tables were busy while we were there. We will certainly return. Puzzled by negative commenter who states Scrummies has been opened several years not less than 2 years????

Don’t usually write poor reviews but went to Scrummies for first time in a few years and was so disappointed. I’d go as far as to say this was the worst food I’ve ever purchased for £5. I had a sausage and egg roll to takeaway. The egg was lovely but the sausages had been re heated in the microwave and were so tough they were inedible. I gave them to my dog as thought he’d enjoy them instead but he didn’t. The roll was stale too. I thought things might have been redeemed with the cake I bought but it tasted like it was contaminated with some other flavours, definitely not like it was supposed to. Sorry Scrummies, hopefully you can improve as used to be a lovely little cafe

One of the best restaurant meals I’ve had in many months. We went on impulse to celebrate my partner’s birthday yesterday evening, having had a very bad experience there in the past when it was owned by someone different. The food was superb and the service was efficient and friendly. Highly recommended and we’ll most definitely be going again

We sadly lost a family member and contacted the Black Horse to host the wake. From point of contact with Josh to the actual event, was dealt with professionally and with sympathy. On the day it went smoothly and we were welcomed warmly. We were taken care of the entire time and the buffet that was laid out for us was beyond expectations. Even with a late add on of numbers, which was despite the lateness not a problem. The supply of constant tea and coffee was welcomed by our guests. Cannot fault or thank the team enough for their attention and care of our family in a difficult time.
