A lovely afternoon tea. Very nice savoury section and lovely cakes. However the service was not as good as the food. We had to ask for additional drinks as the server never came to ask us if we wanted more drinks. The first drink arrived and the server spilt the milk over the table narrowly missing the food. The second time she spilt the milk down my husbands trousers. Great food poor service

Having been a regular at this eatery and recommending to so many people I was very sorry to have been served a sausage sandwich ( which I have had on many occasions) which was covered in a white slimy product… absolutely foul…It was taken away and I was not charged for it but no apology, no explanation … poor service and a disgusting sandwich…unusual I appreciate …but still stomach churning…will no longer feel safe in recommending this place

We visit Scott's restaurant many times usually for breakfast and never had a complaint. the food is delicious, Visited for a Sunday roast this week and was not disappointed it was huge and great value for money, we did start with starters and even for my husband it was too much, Please don't make portion size smaller because of this review ill not have starters :) ill be back more often now on Sundays. I have visited this restaurant several times. This time I felt the service wasn’t so good. The waiting staff were not as attentive. Didn’t ask if we wanted condiments, never came and table checked us to see if meal was ok. There was plenty of staff and wasn’t that busy about 10.45 am. My friend was given a dirty cup with her tea and the teapot looked stained. So I was disappointed with the service. I had the vegan breakfast. I asked if I could have an egg and no spinach. I got an egg but also got the salty spinach.

I had afternoon tea with my teenage daughter and it was delicious. The staff are really welcoming and friendly. It made a nice change for an afternoon tea to have a savoury croissant, brioche roll and sausage roll as well as a couple of finger sandwiches. It was easy to make a variation to the menu when booking online. The cakes were divine and plenty of cream and jam for the scone selection. We’ve had a breakfast here before which was also delicious so we’ll definitely be booking again.

Very disappointed with our visit today, normally really enjoy the food and drinks but not today. Teapots/ cups covered in tea stains, the teabags were very weak, even after dunking in the cup, and soon lost the heat, coffee not much better, had to have it replaced as a lot was spilt in the saucer and was not very hot, was returned after a blitz in the micro wave we suspected as now had lumpy milk floating on the top, and then unfortunately the poached eggs were hard. Don’t think we will be returning any time soon.

Very disappointed, gave an afternoon tea voucher to a family member and was asked to go with them, we were in the large room on our own, no atmosphere and not too good service, sandwiches and cakes very good, but not presented on the garden bench as before.

Amazing place! Great range of items, great events, great food & there’s an arts room inside. We’ve been to a few events here, the kids always have a great time.

We attended the event previously and had a really lovely time, but on this occasion it wasn't as enjoyable. This time the event had moved into the poly tunnel as soon as we entered we were hit by the heat. Even my toddler was telling me how hot he was feeling. We wandered round the animals for a short while before we decided to get something to eat and drink. We got in the queue for ice cream but after 20 minutes of queuing we had hardly moved and were told the ice cream van would be leaving at 3pm. I left my husband in the queue and went to get a drink for the pizza/beverage kiosk to be told it had already closed. Our ticket booking was from 2pm to 4pm, so we were a little surprised that everything was closing so long before the end of the event. After 30 minutes in the ice cream queue, we gave up and left the event feeling slightly disappointed.

Lovely afternoon tea. The food is of exceptional quality. Relaxed atmosphere. The lady looking after us was lovely, attentive and friendly. Highly recommended.

Accidentally ended up in here for breakfast with my hubby and is probably the best accident ever! By far the loveliest breakfast I've ever had! Everything was fresh and tasty and not overpriced. Our waitress Karen was really lovely, friendly and made us feel comfortable and well looked after! All in all, I would very highly recommend coming here and I will definitely be coming back regularly

We have been to this place a couple of times a year since it first opened. It's never had a particularly welcoming feel and the staff usually seem pressurised and unhappy when serving customers. However, on our most recent visit this seems to have multiplied. The staff that served us were behaving very oddly and talking to them was difficult from the start. They took our drinks order after about 10 minutes of waiting, then forgot to bring one. We then waited another 15 minutes to place our food order. The food was brought out after another20 mins. The food wasn't very nice. Particularly the very bad chips - lukewarm and soggy frozen things. For the price, I think they are skimping here. When we'd finished eating we were just left with the plates for at least 30 mins until one of us had to get up and approach one of the staff to ask for the bill. No idea what was going on there but it was not a very good experience - I think the staff pulling faces and rolling their eyes was strange - there was virtually no previous contact with them before this behaviour other than asking what drinks we wanted so it's unlikely we had done anything to upset them. All I can think is that there was something going on that we didn't see. I won't be recommending it, I've never felt welcome there anyway. Hopefully the older family members we went with won't choose it again.

Popped in for breakfast today wow what a miserable place. All the staff in the restaurant are miserable 😕 apart from the young girl that took the card payment. It crashed 3 times but she was still lovely. The place was not overly busy at 11am but I had to ask at the counter to be served, no smile and even the lady that served us never brought the tomato sauce over. Wouldn't mind but she asked us if we wanted sauce ! Very overpriced breakfast half a tomato and 1 piece of bread. The smallest hash brown I have ever seen ! Sausage was nice though ! £5 for a pot of tea wow ! Such a shame, going elsewhere now we just did not feel valued and it was all too much trouble for them !

We stopped at Scott's for a late lunch. The place was filled with people but we were seated straight away. We had a lovely quiche and a burger, special thanks to the manager for the suggestion about the wine which was superb. Great place for families and nice atmosphere, good service. Highly recommended, will definitely come back.

We walked in for lunch on a very busy Monday and managed to get a table with a very long queue. The restaurant was full in a very buzzy enviroment, only 15-minute wait to be seated. We had a couple of glasses of wine, very good, calamari special, one of the best I ever had, nice and tender, and finished with a coffee to die for; what to say, we can't wait to go back and try the afternoon tea that looked really nice too. the service was friendly and professional.

Really disappointed with this place. We’ve been a few times in the past for an afternoon tea and on another occasion, breakfast, which were both nice. Our recent visit at the weekend was so disappointing. The place is so expensive for what you get. We were going to have lunch but changed our minds and just had coffee and cake. My 3yr old ended up with a fruit juice in a heavily stained cup and my mums coffee cup was stained too. Was going to get my daughter a sandwich but not paying £5 for a kids jam sandwich! For that price I’d expect a kids meal deal with drink and snacks included but nope, that was just for a simple kids sandwich. The other options for her were nearly £7 for a meal, I’d have chosen the tomato pasta but for £7?!?! Really?! Ended up getting her a £2.50 cookie which even with the sweetest tooth ever she couldn’t finish it, I tried it and it was dry and tasted sickly. My mum and I had a thin slice of cake for £4.50 but that was quite nice and I know you’d expect to pay £3-4 ish for cake but it was tiny and the place, and lack of atmosphere just wasn’t worth it, we won’t be going back there any time soon and only if it were more reasonable. It used to be nicer than it’s become, such a shame. I don’t recommend at all.

This is the third time we've been to this cafe and the second time we've left without ordering. They left us waiting so long to order lunch, we had to go back to work on both occasions! Shame as the gluten free cakes always look lovely, I'd love to get the chance to actually order one!

Had booked a table in a pod for lunch when we arrived they had no record of a booking. Got seated outside in a pod and immediately wanted to put the heater on but it wasn't working. We asked the waitress who dismissed the issue saying only pod 4's heater worked, so we asked to sit in that one. That also didn't work!!! We then asked what the pie of the day was and the waitress said it was vegetable. Upon arrival it was chicken and mushroom! Poor experience with very average food. Won't go again!

We went for a late lunch at Scott's Kitchen as a little family Christmas catch-up before our visit to the main garden centre, to buy Christmas gifts and decorations. The atmosphere there was lovely and the food was so good, generous portions with all the trimmings, for decent prices, and something for everyone, including an amazing vegan Sunday roast! Our waitress Jane literally made our visit extra-special, not only as a quick, efficient and attentive server, but with her wonderfully, warm, witty and welcoming engagement with us all. We all had lots of precious smiles and laughs at the table, which really helped to make our little Christmas trip there special at a much needed time for us.

Service inattentive. Left without ordering after 15 mins even after asking for someone to take order. 3 people clearing tables with no one waiting to sit down and restaurant half full. At least 6 people on floor and no one taking orders. Not a place to go if your working to a schedule.

Dropped in to the restaurant to see what they offer in the way of breakfast. We were quickly seated and looked after by one of the staff. We both went for the full English with a drink. The quality of the food was excellent. Everything was lovely, especially the bacon, sausages and mushrooms and all at a reasonable price. I think we have found our go to place for breakfast.

Afternoon tea and scones with clotted cream and jam. Fantastic. The scones are light and melt in the mouth. Truely scrumptious

I was in the area for work on Tuesday and decided to grab a quick coffee at Scott's Kitchen on Sutton Road. I was welcomed by Tilly at the bar, and she crafted the most perfect cappuccino. Her service was exceptional. What was meant to be a quick visit turned into an hour of pure enjoyment. Hopefully, work won't find out about my extended break! I'll definitely return on my next trip to the area.
