Warm friendly atmosphere with great coffee and food. Portion sizes are very good so don’t agree with some of the negative comments

Not great. Coffee excellent but if you want alternative milk 85p extra which is totally unacceptable. The food is expensive eg £8 for plain beans on toast and other items more expensive. Obviously the inhabitants of West Wickham are not worried about such prices especially if you have a dog of which there were lots, although some people would say dogs shouldn't be allowed in eating places. To sum up there are many cheaper and friendlier places so doubt if we will return.

Ordered a burger from Scott's kitchen, under the assumption for £13 we would be getting a decent quality burger. When it arrived it was 2 birds eye burgers slapped in a bun with the worst cheese and greasy bacon. Couldn't even finish it. Terrible, certainly will not be going again.

This is a really nice place for lunch, the menu is extensive and original, lots of great dishes and generous portion sizes. I always have the same and it never disappoints, when I have eaten in the ambience is like a jazz cafe, relaxed but buzzing, lively but private. The staff have always been brilliant, the food amazing and I have recommended it to friends/family who are always pleased. I eat lunch early but I’d recommend brunch for your first visit (menu options are great) parking is available on the high street but I’d recommend using the local Sainsbury’s car park (use google for the postcode) just walk in choose your seat relax and enjoy your visit and great food. There really is an amazing ambiance in the place, the food is really really good (you will be back :) ) and you will leave feeling great. Thank you Scott’s Kitchen. Also the cakes on the counter are homemade and delicious.

We visit this coffee/tea shop frequently, as it’s not a chain and wanted to support a local business. The reception can mostly be welcoming and friendly but there appears to be a high turnover of staff. We have remained loyal customers and recommended to others however I was upset for my parents when they visited today for the first time and said that the Manager was abrupt and rude and served up a cold croissant with no butter or jam and said he was closing and rushed their visit. Don’t think they’ll be going back.

I hate leaving negative reviews but feel a need to do. We just visited Scott's for lunch and very disappointed. My wife was assured that the soup was homemade so ordered that. What arrived was a bowl of MSG that was plainly not homemade, served with cheap bread slapped with margarine. When we questioned whether this was home made the manager came out to our table with an aggressive F you attitude and continued to claim it was home made. He did eventually offer a replacement but it was clear from his whole demeanor that he didn't want to do this. The quality of food and service has deteriorated here so we'll go elsewhere. It's a shame.

Food was OK but marred by the bill at the end. It was afternoon tea with friends and one had to cancel at the last minute as she was ill. In these covid times you can't come if you have any symptoms. So 10 of us instead of 11. We were charged for all 11 bookings as that was their policy, which I do understand but made it expensive for the rest of us. At £22 for afternoon tea it was already pricey. Food was good but tea weak and already made when we arrived so stewed after an hour. One of our party didn't drink tea so asked for coffee instead. She was charged for this! Never had this happen before - most places would happily substitute at no extra cost. Do overall not a happy experience. Such a shame.

No complaints about food, staff, service and background music always great but... if you are going to allow dogs in make sure their owners are responsible. Today a lady was rewarding her dig by letting it eat biscuits from the table... not exactly hygienic or good example to set her children who were with her. May be if they have to bring wet dogs in they sit in the garden provided.

My dog friends and I now do not frequent this establishment. On the several occasions we visited the owner would come straight over with the pretence that he had come to chat, hanging around for too long making us feel very uncomfortable. He then would tell us the rules we had to adhere to e.g. that they are not allowed on our laps and they must stay on the floor. We and several dog friendly friends from the area now avoid Scotts Kitchen, found this behaviour surprising for a venue that CLAIMS to welcome dogs.

Staff super friendly and service good. Lovely place and nice inside with a lovely seating area. My food was £7.95 for a jacket potato with prawns which was pricey, especially with such a poor quality. The potato was very small, no bigger than a baby avocado. It had been microwaved and was grey inside, so looked and tasted old. The prawns were fine. Side salad was boring, just lettuce, cucumber and tomato. For the money it was very poor quality. A nice jacket potato can't be that hard to get right? Tasted the carrot cake, it was yummy. I'll give it another try but will be giving the jacket spuds a miss!

I’ve been to this cafe a few times, as others said, trying to support the local business. I think this place is not very child/baby friendly, there is no space for prams. The order system is even more frustrating on a sunny day, like today, people sit in the garden and come in to order after securing their table, so if you have a pram and are on your own, like me a lot of the times, you can’t have a table outside. There is no logic in who they serve first. I was waiting to be served at the counter and no one acknowledged me. Just left fuming as I was really looking forward to the smoked salmon bagel.

I have been going to Scott's Kitchen since it opened about 18 months ago, and always found the food excellent and the staff so friendly, but since the beginning of this year "new Owners" have taken over, and to be honest they are so rude to customers, the food is not as good as it used to be, and they have got rid of most of the old staff, who were excellent. The New owner told one customer if you don't like the food you know where you can go, and was very rude and out off order to one of the long standing members of staff in front of customers and reduced the lady to tears. If this is the way they are going to treat customers and staff then it should be avoided. Although I must admit I am a bit confused as on Facebook it implies that the old Owners still own Scott's, but the new people say they they are the new owners, who's telling the truth!!!!!

We have been several times to Scott's and the food is always very good. It can be a little chaotic with no one giving you menus, maybe leave them on the tables? You order and pay at the counter which for us is perfect! sometimes you just don't want to wait to get the attention of passing staff before you can pay and leave. Meals can come at different times, like at Wagamama, however this has never been explained to us we just know how it is as we return often, for others this could be confusing and certainly the 1st time it happened we thought a meal had been forgotten. The last 2 times we have been past there has been very little custom in Scott's but the latest restaurant over the road has been very busy. Today we went over the road and I have to say the food is a lot better at Scott's but they were more efficient at The Kitchen. We will stick with Scott's I just hope others do too.

I had the misfortune to visit this establishment today with my sister. Today was a poignant day for us and as such I thought it would be good to have lunch together. As my sister is local we decided to go to West Wickham high street, and came across Scott's. We sat down and then waited, finally menus were thrust at us, without any explanation as to if it was a table service or if he had to order at the till point. After being ignored for roughly 15 mins, my sister went to the till, where she encountered a cocky cockney chap, who quipped up 'you order here, haven't you been here before?'. Clearly had we been before we have known the etiquette of this establishment. My sister ordered 2 halloumi salads, a skinny latte, and sparkling water, said chap quipped up again on the order of water, where he barked 'fridge' - my sister took this to mean 'you will find the sparkling water in the fridge which is located here (gesture)'. Eventually a single bowl of halloumi salad was delivered to our table, we question where the second bowl was and was informed it was being made. After a wait of roughly 10 ins no second salad appeared, so my sister went to the counter to enquire when we might expect the salad, at this point she was informed it had not been ordered. What followed astounded us both, the chap behind the counter (who had failed to order the 2 salads) called over to us and said 'I tell you what girls, I'll take it off the bill or you can just leave, I've been doing this for 26 years'. Now we took this to be he had been rude to customers for 26 yrs as clearly, had he been in the catering industry for this amount of time, surely he would know how to treat customers, and know what constitutes good customer service, which this was not. Two people going to lunch together clearly want to eat together rather than separately, no apology was offered for his failure to order two salads. My sister and I left, and went to another café on the high street where we received exemplary service. What was a difficult day for us, was made even more so, by the atrocious treatment & service of this establishment. There are a number of cafe's on the high street, I would highly recommend that people walk straight past Scott's and go elsewhere, unless you like atrocious customer service.

Ideal for a weekday lunch catch up. Good coffee, good wine, good kitchen with enough choice. Helpful staff, potato served without butter or dressing as I asked for.

Popped into West Wickham for a quick coffee. Starbucks was heaving and had a whole area reserved. Nero had a massive queue. Tried Scotts on the off chance. Was the only customer but don't let the quiet out you off. Great coffee, friendly, comfy and a little gem in West Wickham. Leave the coffee chains and cross over the road to this place.

Lunch with a friend and we have found a little gem, super food, great portions, service and friendly atmosphere. They also have gluten free options and when our food arrived at slightly different times the staff addressed the issue and offered discount/free coffees even though it was a slight time gap which didn't cause a problem. They couldn't have been more helpful, so refreshing, such good service with genuine warmth and concern for us. It really is well worth a visit. We will be back and are so pleased to have found this lovely place.

Had lunch here again today with a friend and his dog (Bailey). Always a consistent high standard of food and friendly staff. Very popular with people as it's totally dog friendly (competitors really need to catch up on this as it's what the majority of people want). Hope they go from strength to strength.

Four of us only popped in last Saturday afternoon for a quick coffee and some cake, but we didn't really want to leave again! Scott's Kitchen somehow has a warm, welcoming atmosphere that makes you just want to sit there and chat. It's such a nice, comfy place to relax with friends and family. And the coffee and cake was excellent too! We will definitely be making this a regular rendezvous in the future.

I recently went to Scott's Kitchen for some brunch with some family, we absolutely loved it. There is a friendly, family vibe to the restaurant and the menu caters to all, ranging from coffees to prosecco, and avocado on toast to American style pancakes. Definitely worth a visit for breakfast, lunch or even just coffee and other drinks!

Great food, friendly service a welcome addition and different from all the Chain coffee shops, a varied and interesting menu, cooked fresh by people who really seem to care about their customers, will certainly be returning.

This is a welcome edition to West Wickham, where cafes tend to err on the side of safety, with "toasties" and "paninis" taking centre stage. We were really pleased to eat an American breakfast, complete with scrambled eggs, crisp bacon, pancakes and maple syrup and sourdough toast with smashed avocado and feta-all a little bit different and not run of the mill. Staff are charming, the atmosphere is relaxed and it's certainly a place to which we will return.

Popped into this place recently just walking past. We ordered the afternoon tea which was delicious and very reasonable. Coffee was very good which is hard to find these days and the cheeky glass of prosecco was lovely. The staff were very welcoming and efficient even though they were busy.

Visited Scotts kitchen a few times now for coffee and cake - both of which are lovely. So refreshing to find somewhere so dog friendly in this area. Not brought my dogs along yet put each time I have visited there have been well behaved dogs sat under their owners table. Food looks lovely so will be visiting for breakfast or lunch soon.

My husband and I recently visited Scott's Kitchen. The staff were friendly and welcoming. I had the scrambled eggs on toast and thoroughly enjoyed it. My husband ordered the American breakfast which was scrambled eggs, bacon and pancakes with syrup and he loved it. We'll be back for those cakes we had our eyes on! Nice atmosphere, highly recommend this place

Popped into Scott's Kitchen for breakfast with a chum. We both chose the American breakfast which was plentiful and delivered to our table quickly enough. The food was good, as were the coffees. It was a bit cold in the restaurant which was a surprise even though it was very cold outside - surely a restaurant that offers breakfasts should be toasty warm in the morning? However, overall the place is comfortable. It is dog friendly and there were several customers with well behaved dogs. Prices are appropriate for the quality of food. Worth a try.

We had a really good meal. The staff were all very attentive and me, the dog loved being welcomed. My mate had The Stack which was really nice while his wife had the breakfast meal with bacon eggs and pancakes. The treat the staff gave me was nowhere near as nice as the sausage they gave my mate. I hope they'll bear this in mind in future.. My mate says he doesn't even mind paying for it!!!

Visiting family for Christmas, (I'm from Lincolnshire), was shocked how rediculously expensive everything was in Bromley including even basic food, l could have a 3 course meal in Lincoln for price of a starter is some of the places here!! The Terrace Cafe was a breath of fresh air, really acceptable prices, big menu and good quality food, surprised also on the decent portion sizes. Not surprised they were busy! (I'm writing this review while still in the cafe). Well done guys.

Used to be such a good coffee, but the last few times were horrible. The baristas don't know how to heat oat milk and just burn it. Water glasses were filthy, probably from washing in same water as stuff covered in batter mix. Great crepes, but elsewhere for coffee!

The Shortlands Tavern is a perfect local friendly pub, family and dog friendly. Great beers and Sunday roasts plus positive attentive staff. If more pubs were like the ST they wouldn’t be under threat. Top marks on atmosphere ( you can actually have a conversation ) , service ( the staff really value customers) and food plus beer ( definitely try the Heart of Darkness. One third of the tables had a dog present, one third families with kids. An experience worth the money.
