Scoop and Bean in South Tyneside

So many flavours - lots of choice 🍨 I had an ice-cream with 2 scoops and my boyfriend had a sundae 🤤... they were both yummy !! Think it was about £10 altogether - but as a treat, we didn't mind paying that, and we got plenty to fill us up. 🩷

Has to be the best coffee on the front , forget about that tastless hot milky stuff they sell at Minchellas for about the same price , this is proper coffee

we went today for an ice cream and it was a lovely experience 💗 the girl with the brown ponytail and green nails was so smiley cleaning our table and the order came fast. i have recommended this establishment to my friends and i will be coming again!

NOT GOOD VALUE. £4.50 for 2 TWO SCOOPS. the icecream is nice but come on!!!!!!!!!. £4.50. My money is really hard earned to spend £4.50 on 2 scoops. Is this what we have to accept now???? i really wonder because there was no one in there - this speaks volumes for itself. Complimentary sauce (strawberry sauce or monkeys blood my mate Dave calls it from that bygone era!) the type the friendly ice-cream van-man would put loads on- once upon a time! Well guess what. It must be liquid gold nowadays cos they put a drip on. WELL DO YOURSELF A FAVOUR and go over the road into the park to Tony Minchellas and get a good a old knickerbocker glory or a choc nut sundae or a gorgeous hot amereno cherrie icecream sundae FOR THE SAME PRICE. NOW THAT IS VALUE. what has happened to the traditional trip to the seaside? Forget mortgages and interests rate hikes - the big hikes are found at the traditional family day out now. For goodness sake the family day out needs RESCUING. SCOOP N BEAN - nice - Yes Expensive - Yes is there better Yes - just a 2 minute walk away. Sorry SCOOP N BEAN yoru loss.

Always pop when out with the dog along the beach, coffee is amazing and the ice cream may the reason for my sweet tooth

Got two black americanos here today and me and my partner both threw them in the bin after a few sips. The coffee was made suspiciously quickly and tasted awful. Very disappointing indeed.

Iv'e ordered a icecream at your shop, the customer service was horrific because I wanted a beany icecream they won't serve me it so they pulled out a knife and pointed on my face and she intimmidated me!Her name was Nicola and I want to request to discharge her please.

The choice of Ice cream here is amazing and that's even before how good it tastes. I am a frequent visitor as I live fairly local and it's location is perfect. It is right next to the beech and the pleasure park. The staff are always very polite. Make sure you call in!

Great little place, we always call in after bowling for our toasties and ice cream along with delicio hot chocolate. Great access for wheelchair too.

On every trip I make to South shields from the south of the country, I make sure to always come by and grab ice cream with the family and a coffee for myself.Great service and clear following of government guidelines during this pandemic.The best place for ice cream or coffee in South shields!

Genuinely the best ice cream I think I’ve ever had - so tasty. They have such a good range of flavours. Service can be quite slow but I don’t mind waiting for my favourite - Ferraro rocher or Nutella!

Great Ice cream - a little expensive - but the taste made up for it. The choice of flavour was amazing ranging from fruits to sugary sweet. My personal favourite was the Belgium chocolate but the other options sound just as good

nice little coffee shop on the promenade near the funfair.in the winter it has overhead heaters. served toasties and pasties and icecream despite being cool outside, children still wanted their ice cream.my little dog was able to sit beside menote level access is by a ramp at one end.

Great place on sea front for tea/coffee and a fab selection of ice cream. Welol worth the visit and would go again

Called here today after swimming as two grandsons wanted an ice cream they had 2 scoops each and it was nice but at 4pd a tub I think it’s really expensive

All of there food and drink are locally sourced, we had coffees and a tea with some nice pasties and sausage roll. Also some nice cakes everything is reasonably priced , especially for a seaside cafe. It's nice to be able to sit inside or out with your dogs. Now the down side the waitresses need to spend less time on their phones/ talking between themselves , when there's tables and the floor to keep clean for customers to sit in a clean and comfortable environment.

So I stopped at the slack and been, waited in a long ice cream queue after asking at the coffee counter for a coffee. After the long queue, ordered coffee and was redirected to the coffee counter for coffee. The coffee was quite ordinary even out of the excellent expresso machine, served in paper cups and not very hot. I was directed to a help yourself small array of suger, stirrer, napkin table, when enquiring about the ice cream queue I was informed that there was only one queue. I can only describe service as poor, staff participation poor, chances of a return visit poor. The overall Sunday visit here was slack and I've been.

Great ice cream with loads of traditional and non-traditional flavours that are not full of sugar! You can tell the quality of ice cream is high.Amazing interior too and their coffee is THE BEST! It's a locally brewed from Tynemouth Coffee & Co, and you can tell it's well made, got a kick to it so I'd suggest only one shot if you're not wanting too much caffeine Also it's DOG FRIENDLY :)They also have Vegan options too woo!

We visit scoop and bean regularly and absolutely love it. They have many ice cream flavours and are happy to offer you a taste before you commit. They do a range of sundaes, ice cream cones, milk shakes and coffees and well as other small snacks. The coffee is also great, nice to take for a chilly walk along the beach.

We popped here when it was raining. The brownies are absolutely amazing. The coffee is amazing. The staff are very nice too.

We called in to Scoop and Bean for a quick bite to eat, actually had ice cream and a cuppa, well worth the visit, the ice cream is gorgeous, it is very clean and tidy.

Stopped here for a sit outside. Tables clean and had two tubs of delicious ice cream. Also had the brownie cake which was delicious . Reasonably priced and pleasant staff.

A lovely little cafe with seats and tables outside where one may spend a leisurely time watching the world go by.

Stopped here for the first time during theneaster holidays with the kids. Amazed by the choices of ice cream, all looked delicious. Between us we tried 3 flavours were great. Definately be back.

This was our first time at the Scoop and Bean next to the fair in South Shields and despite the queue being massive the service was prompt. There is seating inside and outside but the weather meant everyone wanted to be outside trying to get a tan. They sell coffees, waffles, ice cream sundaes and a great range of flavours. My son and I shared a double scoop Diam and Ferero Roche’s for £3.50 leaving some for our dog.

A wide selection of delicious flavoured ice creams available as well as coffees and cakes. Dogs are welcome so it makes a nice place to have a treat after a long walk.

When it's cold outside you can sit in with your dog, it's clean and the staff are friendly, right on the sea front and next to the pleasure beach, or you can sit outside on a nice day, there are plenty of ice cream choices

Called in on a dreary day for a cuppa but once inside it would've been rude not to have tried an ice-cream... the choice is amazing and as we all had a different flavour and brownies with sprinkles and hot chocolate fudge sauce we were all stuffed by the end (eyes bigger than our bellies). We picked up a loyalty card aswell for the hot drinks. The staff were all young girls at the time and were really pleasant. Dogs are allowed in aswell so it's an ideal place to call into. A great addition to South Shields. 10/10

Been here a few times and its always very good, the staff is friendly and helpful Its a must try for anybody who has not been, sit outside in the sun perfect

We've made weekly visits here all through summer and it's great on an evening. Staff are always friendly, place is clean and the ice cream selection is great.

I must have been here about a dozen times and every time the service and food/drink have been fantastic.

Lush Milkshakes. Chilled out & dog friendly. Staff friendly & helpful. Great selection of ice-creams.

Surrounded by average chip shops and toffee apple stands this place really stands out for quality. Coffee is from a machine but was good, hot and decent value. Selection of ice creams was great, very imaginative with my twin ice cream excellent, there was also iron bru flavour but this seemed a bit of a stretch. Some amazing sundaes as well which would allow you to taste even more flavours. 5 different flavours all enjoyed by us. Friendly service and good value!

Delicious. Sugar cone with two scoops of Ferrero Rocher and Nutella ice cream. Creamy, quality and melted in the mouth. Heavenly. Only two flavours from an imaginative and extensive ice cream, sundae, milk shake and coffee. Excellent value for the quality experienced, and well worth a look if you're at South Shields seafront and you like ice cream. Nom nom

Lovely coffee shop and ice cream parlour right on the front. Staff very friendly and the cakes are delicious. We were even treated to a complimentary piece of cake as they were celebrating their first anniversary. Long may you continue.

They use the Tynemouth Coffee company to supply the coffee here and our flat white and latte was made to perfection, perfect foam and texture and perfect temperature too.

Popped in for ice cream whilst walking along in the sun! Amazing ice cream selection and sorbet options too. I had two scoops, kinder and salted caramel. Lovely place to relax and have ice cream in the sun.

Had a great stop-off here for a much needed coffee fix (great, local coffee) and ice-creams all round for the kids. Dog friendly, (we sat outside) which was welcomed after a long walk and also noticed other treats/snacks on offer which would be handy for a quick bite. This cafe was highly recommended to us and we weren't disappointed. Lovely decor, friendly staff, wonderful selection of ice creams (which the children loved) and really good coffee (which we loved).

After a brisk walk, my friend recommended trying Scoop and Bean as there was an advertisement for their coffee being from the Tynemouth Coffee Company.

Took grandson for ice cream treat during school holidays. Great position next to the fair and good car parking facilities. Staff friendly enough. Big choice of ice cream flavours . Grandson chose Cookie Monster, haribou and creme egg with cream , sprinkles and a chic fudge sauce for £5.99. Hubby had pistachio which was rather sweet and I had Kinder - which was ok. Wouldn't rush back but ok if you are in the area.

Good choice of speciality ice creams but service and choice not a patch on other premium ice cream places across the river. Opposite the main park on the edge of the funfair. Tables inside and out.

We called in for a coffee after a walk along the pier and it was warmer on the pier , it had no atmosphere at all and the seating was not very comfortable to say the least.

We joined a long queue at this busy cafe having had their ice creams recommended and we weren't disappointed. The extensive menu had choices for everyone and we'll definitely return to try more of the flavours! Service was a bit slow but it is the start of the season and we guess the staff were caught out by the size of the crowds out making the most of a warm day.
