Great location right on the beach in St Agnes. 4/5 beers on tap from local brewery Verdant and also loads of cans in the fridge. Neapolitan pizza with is very good .. Vibrant busy bar !!

Lovely beer, locally brewed, and a very friendly atmosphere. The bar staff were very helpful and polite. So much so we revisited the next night for beers and pizza - what more could you want. (Oh even a seal popped-up in the cove - stunning).

This is a very mixed review and even now I’m not 100% sure how I feel about this establishment. The view and location is just wonderful; set right on the beach front at Trevaunance Cove, St Agnes. Furthermore, there is no booking system- you just turn up. Clearly if you definitely need a table, for a certain number of people at a specific time, this is not going to be the place for you as there is no guarantee that you will be accommodated; especially as there is limited seating. We were fortunate to secure an inside table which was large enough for our group. We ordered a garlic bread to share as a starter. It was delicious but tiny! Having seen pizzas brought out (which are a really generous size) I had assumed that the garlic bread would be the same size. It wasn’t. It is possible that the size was mentioned on the menu & I just didn’t pay enough attention to the description. The pizzas were nice enough. They were of course freshly made. I was satisfied with my margarita pizza, however our friends ordered an anchovy pizza and were disappointed with the lack of anchovies- they did question this & were told that it was ‘in the sauce’. They told me that they wouldn’t have ordered it if it had mentioned on the menu that it was in the sauce (it didn’t). Our disappointment was more the lack of concern on the part of the staff member; they didn’t seem to care that someone was not happy with their food. In fact, the staff in general were not particularly welcoming. They spent most of their time chatting & gossiping amongst themselves & there was no clear or obvious ‘front of house’ customer service. The staff making the pizzas were clearly busy, however they also did not come across as very friendly & made us feel in the way & an inconvenience. There is, unfortunately, a culture in Cornwall, especially during the summer, where staff at some establishments are not particularly welcoming or friendly towards those who they perceive to be tourists, and it did strike me that perhaps this was why we had the experience we did. As it goes, we’re not tourists & do live & work nearby. Finishing on a positive note, the wine was nice & the beer was enjoyed. The stunning location is clearly what draws people in.

Best thing here is usually the view. Sadly there was very little view to be had on this trip. One of the big main windows upstairs was misted up, due to blown double glazing, and there were no other tables free. The menu has changed since we last visited. Only pizzas are available. The pizzas we did have were nice and the side of peach and fennel salad was very good but we would have preferred a choice. Staff were friendly and the service good.

Great Pizza (honestly, I have high standards) and even better Beer. Verdant Beers on tap and in cans. Cans, oddly are cheaper here then if you bought online. Friendly staff and a fantastic view over the Beach in St Agnes. St Agnes is a funky little town worthy of a visit and Schooners clinches an excellent day out.

This place has recently been acquired by Verdant Brewery so expect fine, hoppy craft beer! Pizza is stone fired, cooked to order and first class. Views across the cove are second to none. A simple concept that works perfectly.

Absolutely terrific beach bar & pizza restaurant. Sunny days on the balcony or inside the relaxed bar when weather not so good are equally idyllic. Watching the surfers whilst you eat high quality pizza & drink fine beers and wines is heartily recommended. The pizza base is wonderfully light & the topping plentiful. Taken over by Verdant (Falmouth brewery and seafood restaurant) for 2023 summer season. Fabulous pizza, great service. I'd invest! I'd also serve coffee in cups with lids if patrons going upstairs for awesome view, great music. Get a couple of bus-boy trays for customers to put dirty dishes in for safety (lots of kids at tea time) and convenience. Tart up to lavatories. Lovely experience, I will bring friends in summer.

Unthinkably better than your classic beachfront cafe or bar. The pizzas were super fresh and yum, the selection of beer and wine was strong and the pricing on all was super reasonable! Seen a few reviews complaining this place has "gone downhill and changed etc". Maybe it's time to accept some change. As newcomers we felt the choice of beers was delightful, and perfectly accompanied the absolutely outstanding pizza. We have tried woodfired pizzas worldwide and to us these were outstanding. Thin and crisp throughout to the centre, with a good ratio of sauce, cheese and topping. Might be cool to see some diversions from the classics but what we tried was excellent. We also felt the service was high quality; the staff had pleasant and friendly attitudes, it was enjoyable to watch the chefs prepare food and chat with friends, and of course the view was stunning. Dessert did not disappoint and the tiramasu seemed homemade and was delicious. It'd be great to see a more adventurous and expansive menu but I would absolutely recommend and come again. Thank you for a lovely honeymoon meal!

A stunning setting for an evening drink and light meal however.....once seated ( quite quick) the wait for food was well over an hour, more like an hour and a half. To be fair we were warned about this but thought that looking at the beautiful beach would cancel out this wait, but it got cold, we were hungry. The food eventually arrived and the rosemary fries sounded lovely to accompany the fish tacos but there was just a whiff of rosemary, nothing special about these fries.I’m really sorry guys (again) as I’ve had issues when I’ve eaten here before (and I’m local to the area) but I won’t be recommending you. I know times are hard but you need to be more organised and function to what you can cope with. I left feeling cold and disappointed. The staff were super lovely and it’s not their fault. Well this gaff like many has had to evolve toThe new normal like the rest of the world! This time last year you had a bouncing venue on rails with amazing food, great staff, possibly one of the best views in Cornwall, you had a fantastic team, a FAIRLY SPECIAL leader behind the pass!! Flanked with some thumping beats and smiles!!! Part of the reason we return year after year! So this year...............Finally in Aggie....... couple of false starts ..... Boris let’s us go......The new normal will always be different but even more so important.A simple one way system in place, no toilets after all it’s a take away, oh the tables are still there outside (that view) thank goodness! So in brief the boys stepped up!! There at the sharp end. The new normal all owners in the house and all on it! With the best of the rest to top it off! Food well it speaks for itself! The menu is stripped back and refined! It is all presented with the love and affection of previous years! Yet in a box ! All I can say is chicken wings and HOT!!!!! I have the greatest admiration for these guys to strip back a fantastic offering, dig deep and deliver the same quality experience in a very different way! So let be honest you still have a bouncing venue on rails with amazing food, great staff, possibly one of the best views in Cornwall, you have a fantastic team, a FAIRLY SPECIAL leader behind the pass!! As we were stopping in St Agnes for a week we decided to stop at Scooners for a drink and a bite to eat on the first evening - we didn’t want a formal sit down meal so this was perfect. It is standing room only at the moment due to Covid but we managed to stand by a table to eat and drink. They have about 4 Draughts on tap including some local beers in small cans (all the rage at the moment) and a range of soft drinks for children. The menu isn’t extensive but I actually like this as I can spend too much time deciding otherwise. We had the fish tacos, prawn tacos and the kids had a cheese burger. We had chicken wings the second visit. The food and drinks are served with a smile and you never have to wait to long - but when you have great scenery to look at time flys by :)In my opinion the food was well prepared and the prawn tacos were amazing - had them again on our last evening. If you are after a casual drink with some food while watching the waves then this is ideal. When the tide is out you can sit on the sand or at high tide there are seats over the road.

Popped in wanting a 'light bite' at lunch, only to find ourselves presented with a gobbledegook menu, where, a range of, 'small plates' (tapas to you and me) at a cost of £4 and upwards - apparently you need at least 3 - are available. What happened here? Not really an exciting range for Veggie's/Vegan's - they have plant milk, but only one variety - almost a second thought - just in case it's needed! Didn't notice any Vegan/Veggie cakes to accompany our beverages either. We have eaten here before a number of times over the years with our family, but, at these prices, for what is essentially 'tapas'. clearly one needs a 'disposable income' to afford to luncheon here these days! Not really much else on offer, apart from some Cinnamon buns, which were nice enough. Served by two young ladies, who clearly seemed as perplexed about the whole thing as we were. Service came with a thud on the table, whilst our order was delivered in silence. Not even a, "Can I get you anything else at all". Just dump and go! Clearly not for us. What a shame, such a luvly venue and great view. Wish they'd stop trying to be the emperor's new clothes of cuisine and make some proper food.

Had dinner at Schooners on Sunday last. We were given a lovely table in the down stairs bar. The view was amazing and the food was absolutely delicious. We had the mixed olive and peppers for starters and went for the Double Cheeseburger as main. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Beer choice was limited but the ones they had were very good. It was cold in the restaurant as there appeared to be no heating nut i assume this is because it is primarily a Holiday Season only restaurant. We are back in St Agnes but in the summer next year so will most definitely be visiting Schooners again.

Had an amazing mackerel salad with friends here today. Delicious and a great setting looking over the beech. We met friends here and they’re regulars. I can totally see why

What a fabulous place to stop off and admire Trevaunance Cove whilst supping a cider. Lovely location, dogs welcome, clean and tidy and a very welcoming place on a cool, rainy day

After a short coastal walk we stopped for coffee & cake at approximate 3pm. We sat outside overlooking the sea which was a spectacular view with a seal popping up to say hello.

Great menu, some lovely tapas style dishes and a couple of mains. The monkfish with crushed peas, chips and curry alioli was delicious and the double burger with gravy and gherkins was yummy although it sounds like an odd combo it worked. Great little find overlooking the beach, advisable to book in busy times, we got the last table at just after midday for lunch

We walked in only 10 minutes before end of lunch service. We asked if this was ok and the staff were very courteous and polite and welcomed us in and to order. The menu was excellent. We ordered 3 seafood plates to share.the food was amazing. Some of the best seafood we have tasted. The location is perfect. Overlooking the ocean. What a find would definitely recommend.

Visited here for lunch, lovely unusual food (for us oldies!) that was really good and very tasty. Friendly staff and a great view, highly recommended.

Just what we need more of in Britain. Coastal eateries that care about their food. Schooners is a welcome relief to the excuses of ‘pub grub’ offered in most places. Their menu is well thought out, fresh and layered with flavour. And it’s dog friendly. What more do you want. Price wise it doesn’t seem too expensive. Yeah you can rack up a bill but it never feels disappointing. Eaten here twice now and would love something like this on my doorstep. It’s right on the beach and such a great place to go and eat. Relaxing and *seemingly* child free (hoorah!)

On a slightly elevated position Schooners offers great views over the bay from both levels and the limited outside seating. We only visited for drinks, which were very good, but the breakfast menu looked really interesting, utilising very local ingredients with a little more imagination than most. Service was good and prices average. The toilets were exemplary.

Been before, very well organised and on line booking was a breeze. Table by the window, on a sunny day overlooking the surfing, with a gin and tonic. Great seafood, vegetarian options and attentive but not overbearing staff... Recommend it!!!

You’ll forgive the mediocre service and basic decor because the food here is sublime. The flavours and textures used are just fantastic. We had 3 small plates, 1 large one (monkfish tail) and the chips. It was loads for two people but we polished it off because every mouthful was amazing. We had the chicken wings with scallops, the white crab and the tiger prawns on charred sourdough. We then had the choc ice with smashed peanuts for dessert.

Very welcoming, Great ice cream flavours. Especially the Ferrero Roche and Millionaires shortbread. Lady went above and beyond for our dog letting her sit in the shade on a 25 degree day to enjoy her pup cup. Thank you!

the only place open on a Sunday on St Martins! So glad it was open, it was absolutely heaving but we got there in time to get seats and what was left of the cakes and drinks.
