Fantastic meal at scawsby mill tonight. Our waiter/waitress were so friendly and polite. Food was delicious. Shout out to John and Mel for your amazing hospitality. We’ll definitely be back soon. 😊

My family and I came in for a meal together and our drinks order was taken immediately. For a party of 14 the drinks came extremely fast, and everything was spot on. As soon as we had decided what we wanted, the staff were there to take our order. Everything came out around 30 minutes later, piping hot and absolutely delicious. Thank you to Mia and Lily for the fast and efficient service. We will definitely be back in the future!

I was disappointed with the ‘gluten free’ meal I received. The gluten free menu also has vegan meals on which is very confusing. My friend had the veggie pie and the crust was inedible and hard. The manager was apologetic and took our meals off the bill.

Fantastic food, great friendly staff , only had to wait once for food during a very busy time which is to be expected. Outdoor dining/drinking area that is lovely too. Highly recommended to all families & couples, dog friendly too .

Food was OK! Menu limited, alright if you like burgers every which way. Service was great. 10 out of 10 for our server G. she made the evening for us.

We had high hopes when we visited this pub for lunch on our way up from the Midlands. The pub itself has lovely gardens and is in an amazing setting. For us, after that the experience went gown hill unfortunately. We waited at the entrance for around 3-4 minutes to be seated, not a long time but when staff behind the bar can see you waiting and are not that busy we found it a little disconcerting, if not rude. We were eventually seated in the bar area, which was absolutely fine but we were made to feel like we were an inconvenience. The service from the barman was poor as he was distracted by his conversation(s) with the waitresses. But we got our order done after 3 attempts and repeating ourselves. The waitresses were young but absolutely miserable……doesn’t take much to smile! When the food came, yes it was nice but quite ordinary to be honest. I paid for ‘extra’ on Scampi on my scampi and it was a disappointment, seemed like an ordinary size portion. We decided to just pay and leave. Just a disappointment overall.

Absolutely loved love loves tonight's meal was amazing ,and the landlord and landlady are so down ro earth while keeping a lovely earthy welcome atmosphere for everyone , they always come and check of your meals are ok , we have been going for years since my children were young and now going with them and my grandbaby is amazing it was my daughter in laws 21st birthday a d I'm a family girl and nothing beats that time enjoying ourselfs xxx

Not local to the area, travelling through, we came across this place by chance. First impression was that it was busy...always a good sign. We were shown to a table and given menus. The server was pleasant and friendly, we ordered drinks, and then food. Being busy as it was, you expect a delay. The food arrived, well presented, and looked delicious. I was quick to discover, my meal, was not as hot as it should have been, alerted the server, who straight away sorted the issue, 10 mins later a fresh hot meal arrived with an apology. Food was lovely, the dessert was just as nice, the server was attentive, and could not do enough for us. We all agreed, we had enjoyed our visit. We hope to be back again in the summer.

So rude. Ignored at bar. When I asked about a table I was snapped at and told to wait over there. Again ignored while a family who came in after us was seen to first even though they had no booking. We left.

With it being Good Friday I know that it would be very busy every place being Holidays so my son and family went to Scawsby Mill Pub for lunch time my I say what a lovely place, really lovely the staff so pleasant and friendly from start to leaving the food is very nice and the Creamy Garlic Mushrooms are so yummy to die for and next time im visiting my son I will be back again keep up the good work 5 star

Food was average, sirloin steak sent back, asked for medium to well done, it was so rare a good vet could have got ot mooing again. Table booked for 13.15, service was very poor. Four tables of people came in after our order was taken and all were served and left before us. We felt ignored because we complained about under cooked steak. Last time I will be spending over £95.00 there.

Me and the wife called for sunday dinner we havnt been for years, its realy friendly welcome by all staff and food was beut, I had the rib eye and the wife had a sunday dinner. Steak was cooked perfectly better than alot that Ive paid good money for in Doncaster and the outskirts, we will be defeinatly be going back but taxi this time! Shall sample a few with the big fellow and his mrs.... strawberry malibu... Cheers brilliant place

Lunch for 11 people to celebrate an anniversary. Nothing was too much trouble even though it was a busy Saturday, food good. Would recommend.

After not being here for a while as moved house we thought we would travel and give it a go for my mums bday , so glad we did as it was just the best experience, food was superb and the staff went above and beyond to make us happy , I asked for the ladies name who took our order but was finishing her shift because she was so helpful and pleasant, Rebecca you are a true asset and we will definitely be returning , I also felt the need to let the manager know how great they all were and she was also very warm and pleasant, the chef / maybe manager also interacted with the customers as I watched and was great also , great job guys , thanks again

Wonderful Pub ,nice friendly atmosphere. Dog friendly .plenty of choice ,service with smiles and all round nice experience. Food was really nice and good value for money .Group of seven - everyone was happy - can’t wait to go back again ! Thank you

Customer service was shocking Food was cold Some of the servers weren’t even wearing uniforms. They were wearing their own clothes without aprons! No name badges. Waiting time for food was ridiculous. We had ordered two starters and in between the starter and main it was a good 40 minutes. They even forgot one of our party’s meal. After 10 minutes, when we asked the server replied “it’s coming” After another 10 when our party was almost finished their food, we asked again. She said I’ll check! My partner asked what looked like the manager and she said she’d check. Then I heard one of the servers say “the chef said it will be another 10 minutes as they hadn’t put it on” I then told them to cancel it. That I didn’t want it now that the rest of my family party were finished their meals. They weren’t apologetic at all. They didn’t come over to clear our table. The lady who looked like the manager didn’t come back over either. Two of our party wanted a desert and we then had to ask for those menus which were just thrown at us. We were avoided most of the evening. The desserts came with a different server this time. We then had to wait a further 20 minutes on our bill. We paid our bill with no offer of any apology. When we were leaving the lady who looked like the manager was around a table with some customers. No apology or thanks. All other tables around us were looked after and were greeted as they left. Awful service, we are just so disappointed as this was an occasion that we needed to mark.

Excellent Service as always, I always plan to do review but forget. We've come here as a family of 3 and have never had a bad experience. Jade and Chantelle go out of their way for us and my partner always has a tomahawk steak which they always remember. The girls make the experience and the service is on point even when they are rushed off their feet. Thanks 😊

My Mum pased away in December, her wishes were to have a farewell tea at Scawsby Mill. We decided to have a buffet for 50 people, it was fantastic they could not do enough for us. All the tables were set out with white clothes and the buffet was unbelievable . All credit goes to the staff, it was the best send off for my mum. WELL DONE TO EVERYBODY!!!!!!!!!

Absolutely fabulous, even though they were having electrical issues because of the weather the staff went above and beyond.jade and Simon were fabulous they were attentive to not just us but to everyone, they were helpful friendly and very welcoming and to top it of the food was amazing. Thank you for a relaxing,enjoyable evening.

This is not the first time we have visited the scawsby mill and for good reason. The food is amazing and all the staff just can’t do enough for you on your stay. Whether eating or just calling in for a quick drink the staff are so polite and make you feel so welcome.

A fantastic visit for a 30th birthday with family. The food was excellent as always, we all enjoyed our meals. The waitresses couldn’t do enough for us, making sure we all had everything. Good value for money, clean and excellent food and service, we couldn’t ask for more. Thank you to all the staff for a brilliant night.

The staff are friendly enough. But the Sunday lunch was the vile. It was cold, there was no mash potatoes. The roast potatoes looked like they had been sat under a hot light all day, chewy, thick skin. £13… My advice is go anywhere else

Ordered the large breakfast. Poached egg massively over cooked. Bacon wafer thin and burnt and sausages undercooked. The worst part was the grilled tomato which inexplicably tasted like fish. Worst breakfast I've ever had.

Came for tea ...had the ultimate burger which came with onion rings home made coleslaw and dripping gravy...I also doubled up with an extra patty....was absolutely amazing...everything cooked well and all fresh...my partner had the steak and Ale pie with chips and mushy peas and the pie was obviously home made ...he said it was really good . Staff are friendly was served by Courtney who was polite and attentive ...atmosphere fab ...Great place to go

Popped in for a quick lunch for 3 on a Saturday, it was busy but the young lady on front of house managed to squeeze us in , her name was Louisa . She took us to our table and asked if we wanted any drinks . She took our order and gave us a minute or 2 to look through the menu . Very good service from her and all the staff who brought our meals out . Well done Scawsby Mill .

Lovely cosy pub, shame the food and service let it down. Ordered mixed grill and steak, both meals very dry, tasteless and overcooked. Service took around 40 minutes despite the pub being very quiet. Dessert ok but massively overpriced for what we received. Will not be returning.

We were greeted by a very friendly waitress called Courtney, who immediately seated us. Food was absolutely fantastic, didn’t stick around for dessert but they are always amazing as well.

My friend and I have been coming for a meal at least once a month for a while and we always enjoy it - the food is consistently good and the service is too - a huge bonus in these days of unsmiling servers. Yesterday we had a lovely meal and were tempted by a pancake dessert, but didn't want the salted caramel sauce it specified on the menu. The server offered several alternative sauces, with a smile and very helpful, pleasant attitude, willing to be flexible - very unusual to find nowadays. We really enjoyed our pancakes with maple syrup, and will be asking for it next time! Thanks very much, Courtney, and well done Scawsby Mill for encouraging such excellent service, with very reasonable prices.

Had an anniversary meal, didn't book as a Wednesday evening, plenty of seating, Service was brilliant staff very attentive especially our server Courtney. Food was lovely, hot and tasty.

A self confessed lover of the Flaming grill chain, this has to be another hidden gem… great food, drinks and service… representing great value for money too… never had a bad meal and the Hunters chicken with cheese and bacon topped chips are a must…

Visited here for my daughter's graduation as we had heard lot's of good things. We initially booked a table for 4 people but changed it to 6 and the staff managed to find us a table. It is self-service and we found the service to be slow at best. When ordering we mentioned allergies and these were catered for. Unfortunately, the food was horrid. Nothing was hot, the steak was tough and not cooked as requested. Katsu curry was shocking. The crispy bits were good but most of it was soggy and cold. As well as this we were left with starter plates on the table, until our main meal was served. Can't comment on deserts as we didn't stay to sample them after our poor dining experience.

Met friends from North Yorkshire for lunch as a fairly good midpoint distance wise for us all. Fabulous Sunday lunch, very generous portions and very tasty, alas we didn't have room for a pud. Friendly staff. Looking forward to returning, would be great if they had rooms.

Fab evening with brilliant service and delicious food. A table of eight including a baby, all meals served at the same time. The lady serving went above and beyond to ensure everyone had what they wanted and offered a swap when something on the menu was unavailable. Will definitely be returning.

Visited for Sunday lunch and was impressed with the portion sizes and the dipping steak in particular! Great service in general and will definitely visit again. The manager went out of his way to ensure his staff gave the customers exactly the experience they wanted.

The menu was very appealing unfortunately that’s where the appeal ended.Burnt chicken wing starters and quite simply the poorest steak me or my partner have had for a long time. My partner had the dipping steak cooked medium rare and it resembled and also tasted like roast beef not a steak, my rump steak was cooked medium rare but was tough which was strange as it looked to me like it had been sous vide. I also had upgraded cheese and bacon fries, a couple of small pieces of bacon and a teaspoon or cheese sauce, yes it’s only 50p but if it’s going to be non existent what’s the point, charge £2 and put some on there I’d have still had it. I know it’s a chain and I wasn’t expecting fine dining but £50 to feed two people with just two drinks it’s not bargain basement food and quite honestly I was very disappointed. I won’t be returning.

Ordered the tomahawk steak and was told about the wait due to the size which was fine, when it come it was cooked perfect and was very tasty, there was excellent service also from the waitress. All around a great experience

We came today for our evening meal. Jade took our orders and served us. Lovely lady and so attentive, coming several times to check if everything was ok. She had great interpersonal skills. You're right Jade, the prosecco sorbet was lovely. Thank you, and I'm sure we'll be returning for further evening meals.

We called by for lunch last week more by luck than judgement. What a pleasant surprise. It is clear that the new management and staff have improved the customer experience hugely and the food was delicious and exceptional value for money. Nothing was too much trouble. Well done to the whole team and what an amazing improvement. We had been avoiding the place due to a really poor last visit. We will be back.

Used voucher code from head office in connection with a situation at the Cumberland, this again today really was not worth complaining about. Too many problems with major companies. Service a little slow, had a mini mixed grill, asked for hot plates - not hot at all hot - not even warmed up - food lukewarm apart from the chips which were hot. By the time I was 2/3ds through the meal it was cold. Think it is better sticking with smaller pubs that do their own homemade food rather than these large companies.

first class service from all of the staff only niggle plate cold -steak not 100%- tough gristly in places and not fully cooked as should have been chips lukewarm did not complain as only mine below what I expect

Telephoned at short notice for a table early Friday evening. The lady I spoke to (landlady/manageress, I suspect), was professional, courteous & accommodating. They only had one 'bar' table available, with high stools for seating. I explained that my mother was 86, so their bookings sere shuffled around to accommodate our short-notice visit. We were very impressed.The warm welcome & personal service we received on arrival was equally impressive. It was a pleasure to see a choice of at least 2 real ales on offer) a great improvement on the single 'Bombardier' offering that used to be available in years gone by. I tried the 'Yardbird' which was very pleasant - great taste, well kept & served cold.On our next visit, I'll try the other real ale and we'll eat there as well.A very positive customer experience. A clean, well-managed venue and very pleasant staff. Highly recommended. ++++++

Called in for lunch today, the first time since march last year with the family, and what a lovely time we had. We were seated by Charlotte, who is always so polite and engaging, our server was the lovely Chantelle, who is always happy to go out of her way for you, the lovely Levi brought our drinks what a character, and the food was amazing as always, and great to see all the familiar faces. Were very excited for the new menu and can definately recommend Scawsby Mill to anyone for great food, friendly staff, and a covid safe place to chill with friends, Spot on guys keep up the great work.

We visited yesterday with an elderly family friend in our support bubble and the staff were brilliant. Very helpful, polite, accommodating and sticking to restrictions well.The chef was very welcoming and came out to speak to us. He even sent out a complimentary ratatouille! We all ordered a Sunday roast, which was really good, and we all left feeling like we'd had a lovely afternoon. A great place to visit during the current restrictions, or any time for that matter!

First thing to say is that the staff here are excellent; they are very friendly and attentive. My partner really enjoyed his food but the chicken in my fajitas was really soft and had a strange taste. Wouldn't put me off going again. Also following government guidance well I felt very safe eating there.

Took the A635 off the motorway towards Doncaster in the hope of finding a pub. We were pleased to find Scawsby Mill as it meant a hot meal before travelling another 2 hours home. Staff explained their Covid route around the pub, pleasant staff and Jade was welcoming and gave good service. Toilets were clean, plenty of parking. The menu had several vegetarian options but perhaps after the pandemic Greene King could consider adding a few more non meat/fish choices to their menus. Would still recommend to anyone travelling in the area.

Brilliant lunch! Popped in for some lunch whilst out and about and it was a brilliant decision. Staff were extremely friendly, food was great and COVID measures were in place and well established. All round a great place to go!

This the first time at this pub. Will be coming back. The pub was so clean. The person at the door welcome us. She had got a full faces mask on. As she showed us to the table we had a full explanation of how the pub running. Point out the rules for. The toilet. And. The one way out. Then a young man. Came over with the menu. We had to rib eyes stakes. Which were cooked to perfect for me. Midden re. And well done. The chips were piping hot.. The meal was the best I have. Had in. A. Long tim8. The week before we were at a mell and Carter. We had to send the food back as. It was crap. This time the staff were so help full. They were cleaning all the time. Handrails the. Tables and toilets. Been to this pub/ restaurant many times over the years and today was my first visit since lockdown. Booked on line ahead of visit.Polite , helpful and professional staff who were all obviously well trained in health and safety procedures. Could not fault the service and felt completely reassured with their risk assessment procedures. The food was delicious and well priced / Halloumi fritters with salad and then coffee and cake. Wondered if there was a new chef here as the menu was more exciting compared with previous visits? Would certainly recommend for a lunch or evening meal. Thank you.

Lovely pub which is well located if your using the A1(M) spacious outside areas for dining and the establishment is dog friendly.Food served quickly and the staff were very friendly. A good menu and lovely decor and layout inside, we will definitely be visiting again

Usually av a lovely meal here but one of my family got a hair in her prawn cocktail starter n not even replaced wen told the server cos seemed disinterested. The katsu chicken curry had very little curry on so made it dry. The prawn starter had plenty of lettuce but not many prawns. My wife ordered all American burger with no sauce but they added the sauce so a lot of it was wasted. Don't know if staff were having a off day but had better meals here before

Both our meals where dry. My Rib-Eye was very grisly. My partners Fish mix grill was very dry and very under valued cancelled our Wednesday booking due to being very disappointed

We had been very happy with this pub until we visited one day to find that a crying baby was not removed by the mother and the mother was not asked by a member of staff to leave. When I asked a member of staff to deal with the matter, on the basis that it is the responsibility of the staff of such a venue to ensure that all customers have a pleasant experience she was very rude to me.

We broke down just round the corner from this pub and managed to limp our way to the car park. We phoned the rac man who gave us a time estimate and as we were starving we headed into the pub. We were greeted by Jade who told us they were fully booked all day. We explained the situation and she could see our two young kids were hungry so she went out of her way to juggle the bookings around and within 10 minutes she had us sat at a table. The service was great. All the staff were very friendly and it was lovely food and good value for money. The pub was super clean and they had a great one way system, it was really easy to maintain distancing. Thankfully our vehicle was fixable so as we ate the rac man was mending it, after dinner jade came to check we were ok, we told her we were all sorted and within an hour of the breakdown we were back on our trip! It was definitely better than stopping at the motorway services as we’d planned!!

Having spent the day at the Local Wildlife park we were in need of something to eat for tea and was passing and decided to try this place.We weren't dissappointed, simple covid instructions regards ordering food and making your way through this lovely restaurant.Our waitress was lovely, very helpful and pleasant. The food was well priced, big portions and despite it getting busy the food didn't take long to arrive.When it did arrive it was lovely, clean empty plates which with our fussy eater daughter is an accomplishment.We will certainly make a point of eating there again when in the area.

went with a friend for a meal and a catch up at Scawsby mill on Friday evening. we were a bit apprehensive as it was our first meal out since the lockdown ... It was clear that Scawsby mill had done everything they needed to to make their customers feel save . the meal was delicious as usual, love the camembert starter. the staff are so welcoming and friendly, will definately be going again soon. sorry guys, not a very good experience, one of our party was vegetarian but can't eat mushrooms so asked for the sunday lunch without meat, the waitress asked if she wanted extra vegetables. When the meal arrived she got a plate with less vegetables and potatoes than normal, no mash, no stuffing, no cutlery but was charged full price! By the time we got cutlery and then waited for condiments the food was lukewarm.

Went with a friend for a meal on Tuesday. Met and taken care of by Lynn who made our visit even more enjoyable. Food fantastic as always. But other customers beware of Lynn - she’s so nice she ends up making you buy desserts even when you hadn’t intended to !!!!!

My wife and I went to this lovely pub yesterday and had a fantastic meal. We have been back to this pub on several occasions and cannot find anything wrong.If your looking for a pub/restaurant experience with a great friendly atmosphere, top quality food at great prices and five star service then you need to come too this pub and try for yourselves.The young waitress ( Jade ) that looked after us was fantastic and like all the staff was very helpful.We will be back many more times and will look forward to it.A big thanks to all the staff.

Took my wife there for a Birthday lunch. We were treated very well by the attentive Jade. She even communicated with my deaf son in sign, which is very thoughtful. We had in my case a mini Mixed grill, my wife had grilled Salmon whilst my son had a Signature burger. All were very nice and polished off rapidly. There is so much choice ,so there is always an option to satisfy all the family. We will call again.

My wife and myself had a lovely meal (fajitas) and Lynn looked after us really well. Very welcoming and lovely atmosphere. Would definitely recommend and will visit again soon. Five stars!!!
