Saw Grinders Union in Sheffield

In March 2024 we hired the Saw Grinders Union to host a surprise 60th birthday party for our mum. The team were incredibly supportive and we would highly recommend utilising this venue for a celebration event. The team were very communicative over email and during in person meetings leading up to the event - and they really helped us to bring our ideas to life. They offered lots of flexibility to make sure we could give our mum the party we envisioned. On the day of the party the team were very helpful, they really couldn’t have done more for us. This included helping us to decorate, ensuring the live band were quickly and easily able to celebrate, and even displaying signage for a signature cocktail. The food (hot and cold buffet) put on by the venue was stunning and we had so many compliments from the guests. Overall, our mum had a fantastic party and I hope we can host another event at the Saw Grinder’s Union in the future!

My first visit here, so don't want to be too negative...maybe we just timed our visit wrong... The drinks on offer were adequate,if a tad expensive...the service was ok . Can't comment on the atmosphere as we were the only 3 people in the place apart from the bar person. Will give the bar another try but probably on a different day and at a different time

Bottomless brunch fabulous!! Lots of drink choices!

Came for the bottomless brunch and weren't disappointed! Amazing selection of drinks which were different to the usual choices you get elsewhere - good choice of cocktails as well as prosecco, wine and beer. Highly recommend the rhubarb spritz and tropical martinis! Food was delicious and again, a good and different selection. Staff were attentive and friendly, never having to wait long for another drink even when the bar got busy - will definitely be back!

Can't rate this place enough. We booked for the the variation of drinks and food and we have been so well looked after. All of the staff are lovely, beautiful cocktails and delicious food.

Popped in for a quick lunch with my partner while he was on a lunch break and everything was perfect. The service couldn't have been faulted, polite friendly without being over the top. Food was amazing, super tasty and well presented. Although quiet at the time the atmosphere felt nice and cozy. Will definitely be back.

We came here for an impromptu night out on the 28th Dec- it was just brilliant. Many places around Kelham were closed or hosting private parties but we were so happy to find this. The guys at the bar were really lovely and friendly and the music was great! The cocktails, drinks and cocktails were great! We had a great night out- would 100% recommend.

A wide range of drinks for your bottomless brunch - and you can pick and choose what you want. The food menu was very good with lots of choice for everyone - talk to the staff if you want vegan because they were very accommodating. Brilliant friendly staff, quick to take our order when drinks were running low! Would recommend.

Had an absolutely delicious meal here. The special brunch was lovely with delicious sourdough bread, beetroot hummus, heritage tomatoes and mozzarella cheese. The service was attentive and friendly and the best coffee I have had for a long time. Highly recommended 😁.

We stumbled across this hidden gem by complete accident and oh boi it was such an incredible find! Incredible grilled dishes and burgers on the menu! Definitely will be coming back!

We came here for a bottomless brunch at the weekend but we hadn’t realised until the day before that the menu had changed to Turkish which was slightly disappointing as we’d been excited about one of the Korean dishes on the previous menu and a bit sad that we’d not been informed of the change beforehand. The staff were lovely and very attentive with our drinks. I will say the Prosecco was very sweet & quite weak so not sure if it was actually Prosecco or maybe something in the Prosecco family? We do quite a few bottomless brunches and I was really excited for this one as it’s not a chain but personally £40 each is quite steep for just one meal/two smaller mezze plates and bottomless drinks in my opinion. If there were more drink options and maybe another course would justify that price. Food was good, my burger was tasty but nothing special and the others enjoyed their food. The Turkish eggs could do with an additional carb or maybe some more bread (which was delicious just needed more to mop up the aioli) Overall the atmosphere was good but it was cold in there so wear layers.

went for a wedding,was very small and the staff were quite rude and seem annoyed to accommodate us,didnt get an approachable friendly vibe, everything seem to be a bother, nice inside food was lovely but would not advise taking children as like i said just seemed to be a huge bother for the staff on that night

I think this is probably my 4th visit here so they must be doing something right. We reserved a table outside for food before meeting up with our friends later in the day. Our waitress (sorry can't remember her name but she was from Ontario) was really friendly and helpful and also made a good Bloody Mary. I had the Buffalo Chicken Burger which was superb with just the right amount of kick to it. We ofcourse will be back again soon

1 Star food hygiene( reported in the Sheffield Star). is not a good look, I'd definitely not be eating there.

Evening Bottomless brunch was brilliant. Great range of drinks, food was beautiful and well worth it. They also don’t start the clock until you order your first round which is great. Our waitress Caroline was brilliant and on top of drink orders for us. We would defiantly go again.

Just been to Saw Grinders Union for a bottomless brunch, I can’t recommend it enough. The whole team were lovely, especially Matt, we felt so welcome and we had the best time, wishing more bars had matt’s personality, thank you.

Another hidden gem, my husband and I had a lovely experience, manager Joe couldn't do enough to help us and the food was absolutely delicious, cocktails were also delicious and to for £12 before 8pm, will def be returning.

Went for bottomless brunch - the service was amazing.. the food was so good. Best burger I have had in a long time. I didn’t personally like the drinks available on the bottomless brunch but that’s a personally preference. The Prosecco tasted cheap. I also struggled to eat a big meal alongside drinking. It’s too heavy. I would rather have ordered a burger and 3 drinks I actually like for the same money x However, I would recommend it x

I've given this place the benefit of the doubt before but it needs to decide if it's a bar or a place to dine as it appears it can't do both... it reserves an area hours before guests are due limiting the walk in customers, we've visited this place since it 1st opened and it was a Brilliant place, its now a victim of its own success, we won't visit again as it lost its character, its a shame...

Style over substance. The menu is out of date: When one member of our party ordered the ‘sweet potato hash’, she received a plate of half-cooked white potatoes (which she can’t eat) with some avocado on the side. It was bizarre. The server didn’t return to check on us until after the other members in our party had finished eating as they’d disappeared to the other section, and when we raised the issue the response was, “Sorry we’ll update the menu.” Should have offered to take it off the bill since one person wasn’t able to eat their meal! Even with 50% off, the whole experience wasn’t worth the money. The other two meals ordered were poor quality as well. So, basically, bad food and lukewarm service. Wouldn’t recommend and won’t be back again.

Hidden gem, deffo worth a visit..

Shhh. Don't tell everyone, but the bottomless brunch here is amazing. The burger, corn fritters and eggs Benedict were delicious. Perfect amount of food. Wonderful service from attentive staff who made our kids feel welcome. Fabulously warm concrete floor (!). We will be back.

Nice little place to look at but really bad service. Ordered drinks and food at the same time. Half an hour later, food started arriving but no drinks . Chased drinks 3 times and each time told they were coming. Had to chase chips that had been ordered with one of the meals, came at least 10 mins after main meal. Server didn’t know details of menu choices even though the menu was very small and the seating on the sofa in the restaurant was extremely uncomfortable (lumpy padding which meant you were falling to one side !) won’t be returning .

Having recently moved to sheffield, I have been looking for a friendly local to visit with friends for a drink. I have definitely found the place! Ryan attended to our every need all evening and provided a friendly and professional service. We couldn’t fault the servic we recieved. Assistant manager, Adele, also facilitated our excellent night at the venue and made us feel so welcome. The food and drink were excellent value for money (bottomless brunch) so do not hesitate to make a reservation! We will be returning!

Used to come here all the time and was amazed by both the staff and burgers. It has since changed hands and both the service and food has gone massively down hill! We were initially moved from our reserved table and then left to seat ourselves somewhere else. They seem to have scrapped table service to order yourself at the bar, despite booking in advance. The burger quality was rubbish, soggy and full of gristle, the cheese sauce that was once the best ever, now resembles milk. And also when ordering the food at the bar, the barman made me select my own order on the ipad. Will be in no rush to return, which is a shame considering what this place once was.

They had an offer on Mon to Fri burger & drink £10 After reading the reviews I booked at table I wasn't disappointed, really tasty burgers & fries. Paid a bit extra and tried a cocktail sweet dreams OMG it was good I ended up ordering another cocktail Good food, proper cocktails, nice friendly staff

Great bar, hidden at the top of Green Lane in Globe Works. I didn't even know it was there until this weekend. I highly recommend a visit. They have a great selection of craft lagers/ales and some old favourites too. The burgers look awesome, although I was only there for the beer on this occasion. The staff were excellent, the interior is cool and there's plenty of outdoor seating. I'll be visiting here again now that I know it exists!
