Disappointed with the Xmas turkey dinner. The service was slow and for the price I paid (£17), I thought the turkey dinner was very average. The turkey portion was small and tasteless. The roast potatoes were poor and tasted like they had been microwaved. I'd heard good things about the broadfield's food but I probably won't eat here again given the amount of options in the area. The atmosphere was lively and the beer was fairly priced.

Honestly, one of the best pub roast dinners I've ever had. The Broadfield is a delight - friendly, helpful staff. Great food selection, and all of it fantastically tasty and generously proportioned, and a huge range of beers on tap. Ranging from exceptionally local ales from Abbeydale brewery, to ones from across the country including an imperial stout from Cornwall and a delicious alcohol free pale ale from Cloudwater. We had the duo of pork (amazing - the porchetta was incredible), the duo of beef (the most tender pastrami that was falling apart), and the lamb shank (just brilliant). I managed to squeeze an espresso martini panna cotta in after, which was just divine. Light, not too sweet, and accompanied with crumbly, home made shortbread. All so very, very good. If I lived closer, I would be there every night - it's everything a pub should be. Friendly staff, great atmosphere, great food, great drinks, great prices. 10/10 - if you can, go. You won't regret it.

Went for tea at the broadfield last night, because along with it's sister ship (the punchbowl at crookes),it's usually bang on for either Sunday dinner or midweek pub tea, sorry to say that the broadfield was a massive let down lastnight, the service was fine, friendly and efficient but the food was awful, the 'famous chicken pie ' was dry and claggy with dry mushy peas not enough gravy and the chicken burger lacked flavour and the garnish/salad was pitiful with no discernable dressing, this may seem petty but surely a nice portion of homemade coleslaw would be better than whatever was chucked on my plate, disappointing ,and coupled with some interior door that kept slamming really did nothing to elevate my mood, won't be going back in a hurry, care and attention needed..!

Ordered Sunday roast beef which was very fatty ,veg on plate cold bordering Luke warm hubby had the pork , never had a check back from any staff asking how lunch was if it was ok etc , ordered pudding which came with 2 soup spoons !!!!! Hubby asked bar person for dessert spoons , the reply was we only have soup spoon ,teaspoon or tablespoon. Won’t be going back ever ,I’ll stick with my local true north pub at Millhouses

Food was lovely - pie, chips & peas! Washed down with a bottle of prosecco. Unfortunately, even though booking was essential we were told to sit wherever we liked. Fine 🙂 The staff brought food and left, they didn't check if everything was alright - which is traditional for most eating places. They also left us with dirty plates for a while whilst they sat & had a drink with each other. We had to request the bill with no offer of dessert - although we would have declined due to being so full from pie! I would recommend as the food & decor but I'd recommend the staff be more engaged with customers & a mix of music rather than older ones.

They said she could only have brisket beef aswell with chips and the veggies n veg gravy. The beef wasn’t nice so my mom asked for a burger instead and it wasn’t cooked properly. My sirloin beef was very fatty hardly any lean meat on the slices. The 2 meals cost £42 with 2 drinks which i thought was quite pricey

I've had a really tough time with work lately so headed to The Broadfield for a treat. Food was amazing and staff were absolutely brilliant. They made me feel relaxed and happy for the first time in weeks. A special shout out to Georgina, who was particularly lovely. Despite a really long shift she made us feel utterly and effortlessly at home. Having spent a summer in horrible hotels across the country, I am so grateful to live in walking distance of such a lovely pub, in such a wonderful city that I call home. To those in charge of True North: depart from this at your peril, because it's perfect as it is, a true Sheffield institution!

No eran fichas corrientes, eran arte.

How the mighty have fallen. Broadfield pies and chips used to be a Sheffield institution. The chips are now like bad Aunt Bessie's roast potatoes, and the pies aren't great. Went there with my girlfriend and we both had the Sunday lunch with the vegetable wellington. We arrived just after 2pm without a booking and were seated within 10 minutes. Absolutely delicious! It was described as cheesy, and usually with dishes like this you’ll get a hint of cheese, but it was a very strong taste! Giant homemade yorkshire pudding. Lots of different vegetables. Roast potatoes were perfectly roasted. We both opted for desserts. I had an ice cream, which while delicious was a bit small. My girlfriend had a blueberry cheesecake (which I tried) and really enjoyed. Very intrigued by the Supper Club poster. “Fables and Fairy Tales” for Halloween sounds exciting. Sad to have missed the “Invasive Species” evening which sounds really intriguing…

Not been for a couple of years but used go often as the pies and Sunday lunch were great and good value. What a disappointment it was on Sunday especially as we had been telling our guests how good was. I think they may have changed suppliers for pies as there was no comparison to what they used to be. Smaller, small pieces of tough meat and gloopy gravy, tasteless mushy peas. Chips were good. Roast beef quite fatty. Following this experience I will not be returning. For years we’ve told people that this is one of our favourite pubs and we’ve always been keen to bring visiting friends and family in for food and drinks. We gave up on the food a while ago after a few disappointing meals but we’ve continued to come in regularly for drinks. Unfortunately, after our visit last Saturday, we think it’s time to move on as it just resembled a badly organised, overcrowded and untidy children’s party venue. Sorry to be negative but we just haven’t felt comfortable recently. We know you can’t be all things to all people so we do wish you success in the future. We’re just sad to give up on you.

My friend had the fish and chips, where as I decided I needed a pie, opted for the Ruby Port and Venison, omg, it was so worth waiting for, and didn't disappoint either. We didn't have a starter or a pud, just felt full, yet comfortable. Attentive staff, very good service, food hot, looked attractive on the plate. Proper pub with amazing grub and a great atmosphere. Some nice beers and great service, even some free tasting!

What an absolutely wonderful Christmas dinner!! Quite aside from the joy of not having to cook and wash up, we had such a gorgeous time on Christmas Day with the Broadfield team! The food was outstanding and the atmosphere was a warm, relaxed and laid back festive vibe! As always we were made to feel so welcome by everyone and we were chuffed to bits with our Christmas card and gift of handmade cookies 🥰 You outdid yourselves - a ho-ho-wholly deserved 10/10!!! Thank you and see you in 2024 🎄🌟🎄🌟🎄

Food was very good - especially starters and the festive menu! - but the slightly anti-family-friendly service we received from one waitress left us disappointed. Having booked a table for four and added that we’d need a high chair, we were told there was only a reservation for four adults. We were quickly made to feel problematic through a continually frosty reception and slow service. Other than that, we had a lovely time.

Staff friendly and attentive. Very busy. Limited selection on menu. Very delicate flavours were masked by lashings of gravy. Gravy boat would be better.

Excellent hash brown and BLT sandwich. Big portions for the price. Special mention to the flapjack. I will certainly go back
