An absolute treat. A real ale drinkers little slice of paradise, just outside of Sheffield City centre. Highly recommend, looking forward to visiting again soon.

Had a pint of real ale each only drank a couple of mouth fulls & cudnt drink any more cos the beer tasted like it was on the turn & we both ended up walking out then we were up most of the night throwing up

Haven't been here for many years, I was younger and more into cask ale when I came last time, now older and much keener keg craft beer. You're spoilt for choice in both cases, here, and a lovely spot, with great scran, overall. I hope I don't leave it so many years til my next visit!

Favourite pub in the world. Worked in Sheff back in 2013/14 and this place is just the very best. Great beers and a great place to enjoy them - just sorry we don't live near here anymore. Absolutely gutted to leave again.

Legendary Sheffield pub. Enough said. Lots of vegan friendly beers that are clearly marked (thank you!). Super friendly too. Beer expert or novice they don't judge you here (unlike others I could mention..)

I have only been to KIT for folk sessions. Fantastic that the pub is able to accommodate live music in this way. Good service at the bar and let me move a stool through to the back as all the available seats there had arms.

What’s with the miserable bar staff. With the personality of a cats litter tray. Has a customer how am I supposed to know everything about every beer on the bar. I’m obviously going to ask. I expected a bit of a conversation about the different beers, not a roll of the eyes and a huge sigh.

The best-kept beer selection in the city

In reply to Joseph ( 2weeks ago ) I was at the bar on their visit , two of their crowd were sick in the gents , they did not inform the staff , just left the place in a awful mess . They were asked to leave , which they did with no grief, so they weren't that innocent. I and other regulars, were glad to see the back of this noisy crowd.....

Only had drinks here. The outside space is very pretty with a variety of plants.

The Kelham Island Tavern was built in the 1830s, it was a derelict building when Trevor and Lewis took it over, refurbished it in 2002, and it became the best real ale pub in the country, indeed, they won the National CAMRA Pub of the Year in 2008 and 2009, and have won many other awards before and since! Now has a different licencee. Great ales, particularly the Blue Bee Brewery ales, which are excellent. Friendly place to drink indeed.

Extremely rude bar staff, accused my friend of being so drunk he was going to be sick when in reality he was completely fine and had barely drank. No idea why they took a disliking to us when we were having a quiet drink, my only guess is they wanted to close early.

The Pub was busy and there was a good atmosphere. However I had a Moonshine and it was awful (I know how this real ale should taste) it tasted like mucky water. I think Abbeydale Brewery needs to have a word with the Landlord. I have visited this pub a few times over the years but I feel that it's losing its way, the beer is a not up to standard and the back room is full of awful tat and needs sorting out.

This is a friendly place with good service and a great selection of beers including 3 or 4 no/low alcohol. You can usually get tea or coffee as an alternative.

Perfect traditional pub, Wide selection of beers and good bar food. Large outside area and plenty of seating.

Brilliant pub with an excellent selection of real ales. Something for everyone from a bitter to a hazy IPA. Beer garden at the back is like an oasis as well.

Was great beer. Dissapointed the barman didn't serve tea, as was on website tea n coffee. Nice pub, lovely feel to the place. Took me back to when I was 21 and Kelham Island was a dirty area, we used to do a pub run .. beer was good then.. I'm 70 now, moved out of Sheffield still love it.. 🙏

Harry Butler had been spreading nasty rumors about this place but when I tried it, it was excellent. Coldest beer in Sheffield! Harry definitely lied. That bloke has no idea what he’s talking about!

Proper beer and good choice and good prices

Fantastic spot for good atmosphere and real ales. They often have 10+ cask ales on, from a mixture of local and national breweries. A good range of bar snacks including pork pies and sausages rolls - Only downside is it is so popular it can be hard to find a seat!

Bartender blew his nose, wiped his face with his hand, then picked his ears, and his teeth, but never washed his hands all behind the bar! Grossed out beyond belief and still served customers… 🤷 Sunday night, never again (tach guy with black hair who ever he is). Always liked this place but this was absolutely disgusting…

Very rude bar staff. We were a group of 9 having drinks and were told by the bar man we were irritating for sitting in a corner booth playing christmas songs on our phone ! About as much atmosphere as a morgue bearing in mind this is 9 December. We are from sheffield and are Kelham regulars which is a very special area and mostly a great night out. There is a way to speak to people without being rude. Surprisngly not many people in other those, like us, sheltering from the storm. Avoid.

We were really looking forward to sampling this real ale gem on our visit to Sheffield but it was a dreadful experience. The bar man who was also the owner/landlord spent most of the time we were in there pissed up, propping the bar up and serving himself pints whilst giving people dirty looks who clearly were not locals. We then witnessed one old bloke get rudely told by this small fella that he couldn’t change his pint that was off. The place had the charisma of a drowned rat. Talking of rats, we thought we’d sample the beer garden but it stuck and 2 rats ran straight over our table. The atmosphere was terrible and the beer was not that good. Better places in Kelham that we visited.

Lovely, quirky local boozer with several spaces with different atmospheres. It also has a great outdoor garden space. We didn't eat here but did have some stunningly delicious Henderson's relish crisps (the relish is made in Sheffield and is similar to Worcester sauce). We actually went twice as we liked it so much.

Great little pub. They only sell pork pies and sausage rolls for a limited time each day. Highly recommend getting there for a pork pie. One of the best!

A lovely local pub with reasonable prices. I don’t usually drink beer but they had a great cherry beer which was amazing. The staff and the regulars are really friendly and welcoming - definitely worth a visit if you’re drinking in the area.
