Cafe Pie in Sheffield

I been a few times now and it's a nice old school cafe, good variation and food, fairly priced and they do a nice breakfast! Can't fault it!! Like their art work around as well, keeping it proper Sheffield 😁 it's all reyt😉 and American cream soda, you know what I like 😍 @mantiumofficial @tektonik0 @t.a.g.0114

Never misses, no frills, just excellent food and decent portions. Price increase recently along with everywhere else but still pretty good value. Staff always helpful.

I used to call in here at least once a week for takeout breakfast sandwiches. I always pay for an extra sausage for my dog. On a couple of occasions they’ve forgotten the extra sausage - despite charging me for it. This morning, when handed my order I double checked with them by politely asking if the sausage was in there. I cannot describe the attitude and miserable manner in which I was told they knew what they were doing. So, imagine my disgust when I arrived home to find no dog sausage. It’s a real shame but I can not bring myself to spend another penny in there. Having read some other reviews on here, I’m clearly not the only customer to experience this sort of attitude. The real irony is that they have a sign on the counter asking people to support local, independent businesses. I would love to do just that and will be doing elsewhere.

The food is lovely but the attitude of one of the owners leaves an awful lot to be desired. Unfortunately, I won’t be using again.

This is one of my favourite cafes in Sheffield. Situated on South Road in Walkley, they do a cracking full English. The black pudding is always cooked nicely and they have a nice selection of home cooked pastries and cakes for you to enjoy.

Nipped in on a recommendation had the large breakfast with added black pudding and hash brown. And it wad fantastic!! Tomatoes were amazing , beautifully cooked sausage and bacon two lovely running eggs, nice black pudding and crispy hash brown , proper portion on beans and really nice toast and good mushrooms too. I did struggle to finish though as it was a lot but would defo recommend this place 👌

A proper place that does proper pies and definitely will never run out of Hendos! This is wonderful and charming, good old fashioned cafe with an emphasis on, you guessed it… PIES! They also do what look like amazing cooked breakfasts too! I’ll have to try one of these next time but I can vouch for the meat and potato pie! Very nice indeed! Beautifully lean beef and pastry to die for! I had mine served with mashed potato, mushy peas, red cabbage and lashings of gravy and Henderson’s relish! Oh and did I mention they serve Yorkshire Tea! Brilliant!

Said £7 on the board, but I was charged £8.50 for a bland & tasteless breakfast. That's without a brew.

Me and my fiancé decided to go to the pie cafe today after going once’s before and really enjoying it. The last time we visited the staff were lovely but this time when we visited there was different staff who was completely rude. We walked to the till to make our order when the old lady with silver hair told us to wait. Not one second and I’ll be right with you or I’ll be back in a minute nothing like that just a wait. So a good 3 minutes later she comes back to the till and we ask what pies do you have in today and server said small or large we are like ok but what flavour like do you have any meat and potatoe pie in ? And the server replied nope so I said ok do you have plain stake and she just says no but sounded mad as she was speaking so I said ok then what pie do you have in ? And she replied with you can see them on the menu behind me so I told her the menu that is written with chock as been cleaned and there’s nothing on it and then she just walked away with no explanation no sorry nothing so me and my fiancé left hungry 😡 will never be going there again. I was nothing but polite to that lady and just because I was dressed a little out there she decided she didn’t want to sever us 😢

Had a nice filling sarnie and Yorkshire at this small, cute and cosy cafe. Friendly staff and with a good selection of foods. 😊

Fantastic breakfast and plenty to choose from..

I go for a Full Englosh every weekend and the food and the staff are great. They also do a good traditional Sunday Lunch.

Definitely 4 stars now they serve ground coffee. First time I called in they only had instant!!. Been working in the area, the pies and pasties are really good. Good take out too, brilliant on a cold day. Wasn't busy one day so we ate in.

Fairly priced, good food, smashing staff and enough space not to be on top of other customers.

Visited with family and we ordered various types of pie including meat and potato and steak and kidney...all delicious. Ordered with mushy peas, red cabbage and gravy...plus Hendos! Lady serving was friendly and helpful with our toddler. Great prices too. No photos as we all tucked in as soon as the food arrived.

Went with friends following a night of drinking. Staff were nice, service was quick, portions were massive. Well priced. Just what you need.

Had a coffee and a portion of chips. The ladies are really lovely there and the food/drinks are great.

It was good, bacon sandwiches could've been a bit better as wasn't asked for preference and bread wasn't buttered etc, might sound fussy but it affects it at the end of the day, full English was very nice though according to my gf, nice cafe, clean and good atmosphere, friendly staff etc, would recommend.

If you're a big fan of Shakira from Man Down, this is the place for you. The lady whom I assume owns this place definitely should win an award for her customer service. Which award I haven't quite nailed down yet.

My wife and I took two of our grand daughters for a late Breakfast, very nice too. We didn't leave empty handed taking away a Meat & Tatty and a Cottage Pie £9 the both. Superb value top quality steak. Cafe Pie give it a Try !

Popped in for a quick lunch, the staff were friendly and the coffee was lovely. We ordered a couple of pies, the service was quick and the pies were lovely and great value for money, would recommend as a quick bite to eat at a reasonable price.

Very nice food. For two people with drinks i usually pay about the same amount that i would at another cafe for one of us. Its presented as a traditional greasy spoon and you can get your traditional favourites like quiche and chips, kippers on toast or a fry up, but the food is better quality than the old greasy spoons were and everything seems to be home made and delicious.

My OH, Granddaughter and I had tried to get lunch at a new cafe nearby. However it was full and then when ordering there was a half an hour wait for food - so no go! My Granddaughter, who is a pie aficionado, had spotted Cafe Pie on our way and so we went straight back there - plenty of room. As it was late Saturday lunchtime, they were a little short on choice, but we managed to get what we wanted - steak and kidney for the OH and meat and potato for the Granddaughter and I - all delicious and at £9.50 for all of us a complete bargain! We also took 2 large ones home to freeze. Well recommended.

Not a bad place. Good portions. In my opinion is slightly overrated in Google. More supermarket quality than market quality (some products are clearly from the tin) . A bit disappointing finding they do not have soja or brown bread. The coffee machine seemed to be broken. It is a good neighbourhood café, nothing to make a big deal about. We did not try the pies, which being honest looked great. It will be hard to find us back here. If your food quality standard is Wetherspoon's, then you will agree with people here saying that the food is fantastic. If you aim from something better than ASDA's smart price or Tesco's finest quality level, then this is not a place for you.

This place used to be a good value for money cafe, but now it's been under new management for a few weeks and I was seriously disappointed. The coffee is instant only - the bacon and sausage on my large breakfast were very poor - the bacon was thin and chewy - the sausages were white inside in places.

This was my first visit as suggested as a pre match meal venue by my son. Pleasant welcome to a corner friendly clean simply furnished cafe. Naturally ordered a pie with mushy peas and red cabbage, For a change everything was not with chips so no smell of frying. Really enjoyed the mean with Parkin to follow. All for £9 for both meals. I would definitely visit again

Unfortunately they didn't have the pie I wanted but the alternative was tasty. Everything tasted good and tasted even better with a generous dash of Hendos. I was a bit confused that there didn't seem to be a bottom layer of pastry to the pie, but I'm no pie connoisseur.

Been meaning to give Cafe Pie a try for ages and finally got some takeaway pies for tea. These are high quality pies. We had large snake & pygmy, large chicken, ham etc and two small meat & potato. All perfect. Took some red cabbage and mushy peas along for the ride. Will definitely be visiting to try the breakfasts and the plated roast dinners coming out of the

Good good and you get a lot and a small sandw

I'll start with the positive - this place appears to have had a refit since the photos on here were taken, and it looks great in orange and grey. The mugs of tea are large which is wonderful, and it's not too expensive. Now the average - the food. We had pasties which although they were ok, they were really not that interesting, the chips were greasy. And to the real reason this place gets a low rating - the staff. Miserable is too cheery a word :( The young girl who took my order really didn't appear to be happy in her work. We ordered two teas and then proceeded to wait whilst she wandered round the cafe aimlessly - when I asked for our drinks she just stared at me like I'd asked for something beyond her comprehension (maybe I had?). So, with average food and terrible service we both agreed we wouldn't be returning. (Or recommending).

Get yourself here. Their pies are amazing. If you have a vegi in tow ring an hour before and they will freshly make up a vegi option. You cannot fault their pies Even Mary Berry makes pie like this with just a lid and generous filling so no complaints from me. I like the concept of this place but when I bought two pies to take away for tea they actually gave me the wrong ones. So I got home, cooked them and opened them up up find steak and kidney in one when they should both have been meat and potato. Also, there is no pie casing. Is that even allowed under pie etiquette?!

I understand that healthy eating is important, and that if we all just grazed like sheep it would be better for the planet, but sometimes you need proper food, whether that means a full english breakfast or a pie, this worth checking out. The food is reasonably priced and when it comes to a full english, that's the main thing to look for

Tuve tarta de carne y puré de patatas, col roja y salsa. Todo estaba fresco y era cocinado a la perfección, el pastel y col roja son las mejores que he probado. Está impecablemente limpio y el personal es muy amable.

Fuimos para el almuerzo hoy aquí una mesa de alguien era solo dejar mi pareja y yo tuvimos tartas y lados. Ambos tenían tartas diferentes y ambos fue increíble.

Wow, I used to go to one of the 'posher' cafes now I'll never understand why, the brekie here was far more substantial, tastier and better valued. Cafe pie is the place for breakfast when in walkley!

Went here with my father and daughter my father mentioned how he went there years ago and the pies were amazing we all had meat and potato pie with peas n red cabbage wich was unbelievable if your in sheffield this is a spot to visit and if your a true yorkshireman splash some hendersons on it yum.

Popped in for a pie, delicious. Never would have thought of serving braised red cabbage with pie but will do now - it was spot on!We'll be back!

Have been meaning to try the pies at Cafe Pie and as we were passing the cafe today, decided to get a takeaway. There was a good choice of different pies, chicken and leek, meat and potato etc, but chose my OH's favourite, steak and kidney. The steak and the kidney were plentiful and so was the REAL gravy under the crust. I'm a mean piemaker myself and if truthful I like a short pastry and Cafe Pie's is crispier, but hey this was one of the best pies I have had in a long time and will be returning to try the other pies before very long!

I'm going through a breakfast phase and had heard that the cafe pie breakfast was excellent and so I thought I'd pop over and try it.I have to say that it was pretty good but not particularly memorable and a tad expensive, in comparison with some other places in Sheffield (at least one of which where the breakfast is better and cheaper).I had the large, at 6.00, including two toast and a mug of filter coffee. Two bacon, two sausage, two eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes and beans. I have to say the toast was excellent, bacon was good, sausage was bland and uninspiring, and the coffee was too strong for my liking. I know I'm being pedantic but the beans were hard and my personal pet hate - fixed seating where you can't move the chairs.So unfortunately whilst it was good it wasn't excellent and the seating put me off.

I've been all over Sheffield trying to find a decent breakfast. I can safely say I've found the place. I can't big this place up enough. Very professional and great service. I can't wait for my next visit.

Alex and his team provided a pie and pea supper for a group of us who expected up to 100 attendees. The feedback from everyone without exception was that the choice of and standard of food was brilliant. The vegetarians loved their pie particularly.The organisation by Alex was great and I recommend him and his team to anyone.As it was a joint event for 3 of us, my comments are echoed by the 2 other guys that I shared with. A very big thank you.

I frequent this Cafe quite regularly. Not as much as I would like, otherwise I would be a roly poly from all the pies I would consume!The steak and kidney pie, and indeed all the pies are just perfect. The staff are always lovely and service has never been anything but excellent. I highly recommend this cafe for the reasons above. Unfortunately, I don't tend to deviate from the pies but my family reliably inform me the breakfasts are top notch too.

What a findI am so glad i gave this place a try, the food is cooked to an excellent standard and the taste is out of this world. The omelette i had was one of the nicest ive ever tasted.Alex informed me they had just started selling speciality coffee which was second to none (id say even on par with costa or Starbucks)The cafe itself is decorated in a hendersons relish theme which works really well, its clean and spacious and the staff are lovely. The cafe was really busy but alex and his team were very efficient and managed to get me a seat.There was also plenty of on road parking available which is FREE.Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area, this place will not disappoint.

This cafe looks nice enough: based on a Henderson's relish theme, and if you ever want to get a Sheffielder on side, then Hendo's is always an excellent contender. It's fitted with retro style fixed tables and chairs. They suit the look of the place. Unfortunately they make fora hugely unflexible space. Getting in with a baby buggy was nye on impossible. Seriously. I genuinely have no idea how you would even attempt to get a wheel chair in there. Let alone into the miniscule toilet. The staff were lovely and friendly, trying to mitigate the problems of manipulating the buggy into the cafe etc, and the food was fine, though nothing to write home about. The access issues really need to sorted out asap.
