Saucy Marys Lodge Restaurant in Highland

We stayed in the accommodation next door and had dinner and breakfast here. Food was fantastic. The breakfast was the best we have ever had in any Hotel. I had the full breakfast and my Husband had the scrambled eggs with smoked salmon. The staff are lovely and treated our dogs well. We have already recommended this place to family and friends.

There aren’t many options to eat in Kyleakin in November. We ate here on our first night. We won’t be back. The menu is very limited and I understand that business is quiet at this time of year but everything on the menu is clearly ‘can be cooked from frozen’ or has a long life. Our starters were the best thing (black pudding with halloumi and bacon). Our main courses were very disappointing. The service was okay. It’s just a shame that the food was so disappointing and very overpriced for what is was.

Such a lovely wee pub, sitting by the water just off the bridge. Hubby loved the Cullen Skink. We had The steak pie it was quality meat and totally delicious. Also 1 could easily of fed 2 people. Nice friendly staff too

Locale buono. Scelto a caso. Erano le 7.00 del pomeriggio. Buona selezione di piatti. Ii nostri piatti erano buoni: il salmone fresco ottimo, il duo di smoked salmone e sgombro : ottimo ed era strabuono il burger. Buone le birre(ipa di Sky). Il personale è stato gentilissimo. Consigliato

Good food decent priced. We had a salad with goats cheese and a stew with pastry. Very tasty. Quick service and a nice ambiance. We enjoyed the food. Loved it.

Eravamo a dormire in una guest house non lontano da qui, quindi abbiamo prenotato tramite mail, fortunatamente perchè il locale era tutto pieno. L'atmosfera era molto bella, il locale ha una bella vista sulla baia. I piatti che abbiamo ordinato erano buoni, c'era una buona scelta di piatti tipici e buone birre, il personale è stato molto gentile, il servizio veloce nonostante il locale fosse pieno. Buon rapporto qualità prezzo. Consigliato

Scoperto per caso grazie alle recensioni, ci siamo trovati molto bene, locale accogliente, servizio rapido e personale gentile, piatti ottimi. Consigliato!

Si vous êtes au régime, c'est l'endroit parfait. Le saumon frais, pourtant vendu "accompagné de grains de moutarde et d'une sauce beurre-citron" est arrivé tout nu, avec sa purée ni salée ni poivrée alors que les légumes étaient "natures". En résumé, des ingrédients cuits mais pas cuisinés. Rien n'avait de goût. Le crumble aux pommes maison sauve quelque peu la mise sans être exceptionnel.

After two days of "sorry we are full", pushed away not very nicely, we had a reservation for dinner. When we arrived, they moved away from a table two people and we got sitted in their place. We ordered and we got served after one hour, while other people that arrived after us got their food before us... We got a salmon fillet, apparentely made with no salt (not even in the mashed potatoes) and a steak and stout pie... but there was no pie, just a stue with meat and wathery sauce. For the price we paid and the long wait this place has, I consider this a complete disaster.

Everything very tasty and good, fresh food and good beverage. The winner Is very nice and kind, I really suggest this Little restaurant.

Warm welcome, but the staff seemed a bit over worked. The tables are very close together and my chair was constantly kicked by staff and other dinners. The Menu is a bit lacking and generally over priced, we were offered Pie, Pasta, Smoked Fish salad...

Called in here as we were staying in Kyleakin in another hotel on a trip round the North 500. What a wonderful welcome from Chloe behind the bar,just disappointed we could not stay for a meal as we were already booked in at the Hotel....

Excellent food, we tasted both breakfast and dinner there. Kitchen is great. The restaurant is near the sea, in a small town on Island of Skye.

Poor quality food and not cheap. Do not eat here unless you absolutely have to. I had both and evening meal and breakfast, the breakfast was terrible and expensive for what it was and the evening meal only slightly better, all seemingly from the freezer.

We came to this restaurant for breakfast after staying the night and would NOT recommend that anyone does the same. The waitress was nice enough, but brought us two entirely wrong meals 2 different times. My "Full Scottish Breakfast", with which I asked for no tomato, ended up having no egg, no beans, and tomato. Aside from the bad service, the food made both of us badly sick to our stomachs - the meat was very greasy and I'm not so sure it was cooked properly. I would suggest going somewhere else.

We came here on a Monday so it was very quiet but service was quick! The food was brilliant for the price, we had the seafood sharing platter and it was great! We had a comfy seat by the fire for the whole meal, very nice place!

C'est un restaurant italien maintenant, mais bon et agréable. Le personnel est sympa et les prix raisonnables. Avec une cheminée pour la saison c'est top.

Gone is Saucy Marys and now we have La Perla Perla.Since this started we have eaten there 6 times as we live in the village and it really is excellent with a good selection of Italian and British dishes.All come on hot plates and nicely decorated and a decent portion size.The interior has been decorated and the ghastly paintings, loud music have disappeared along with the foul mouth brigade who spoilt the ambiance.The service is excellent and while the furniture is a bit old the tables are laid up ready for diners.There is also a restaurant which I find a bit baron so I prefer to eat in the bottom half of the bar near the fireplace. Only mild criticism is that it is a bit chilly at times and being picky! the red wine should be bit warmer also some of the dishes are very pricey.Favourite dish, Mushroom Tagliatelle which is perfect. We are all hoping that this excellent restaurant will continue as at the moment it is a 'Pop Up Restaurant.'

We live in Portree and had read the article in the WHFP about the Italian pop-up restaurant, La Perla Perla at Saucy Mary's about a month ago. Last night, we had an opportunity to stop in for a meal. We are so glad that we did. It was early in the evening and it was quiet so we were able to take a table by the fire. If you like authentic Italian food you will not be disappointed. The menu has something for everyone and the selection of fresh Seafood dishes is exceptional. We both had the Lobster & Crab shellfish cakes to start with. They were generous in size, light and crisp and packed with flavour. For the main course, the Chef was gracious enough to adapt his three cheese cream sauce tagliatelle by adding fresh salmon for a sumptuous dish. I had Pancetta & Parmesan with Black Olives & Basil Oil Sauce. It too, was light and delicious, perfectly balanced and full of flavour. There were many other traditional Italian items on the menu to tempt us and we will surely do our best to to return. The Chef really has a very fine light touch with his Italian cooking and his food is both authentic and delicious. Well worth the trip to Kyleakin. Better get down there soon though because the Italian Menu will only be there for another 3-4 weeks. I'd love to see it "Pop Up" permanently!

The langoustine salad had very little lettuce, few langoustines & boiled potatoes with mayo as sauce. For £14.95 it was way overpriced

The food here was brilliant - we had both dinner (with a bottle of wine) and breakfast. It was possibly our best meal in and around Skye.

The best seafood restaurant in town. Highly recommend it for its' food quality and value for money. The Langoustine salad was delicious and large. The food was tasty. I recommend this place who will stay within the vicinity. Eat here.

Essendo uno dei soli due pub presenti in Kyleakin, non avrete molta scelta se vi troverete a soggiornare in questo posto, ma il Saucy Marys non sarà un ripiego tanto male. Non si può certo dire che sia un posto esteticamente bello, ma la cucina è buona, il personale molto gentile e avrete la possibilità di provare delle buone birre locali (la scura in particolare). Il piatto che più consiglio è l'hamburger di pollo, davvero buono!
