We've been regular customers since ages. Yesterday we called to order 2 kgs fresh Jalebis and was told to come after an hour. When collected I felt it wasn't even warm but with blind trust collected it, only to come home and realised it's stale, old leftover sweets which they grabbed the chance to get rid of on last day before they could close shop and leave for India on holiday!!!! The jalebis were so so so stale and dry that our party was a bit of chaos and last minute had to get Kulfi boxes from Anand Pan centre, very nice Kulfis I must say ..but I wasted £30 on Satsang and my blood boils to think how I was royally duped. Crafty guy said come after one hour simply to make me believe they need that time to make it fresh...he even knows me personally and still didn't hesitate to make that £30 rather than simply bin all his leftovers. He would rather make money even at the cost of losing a valued customer. Can you actually believe it , that even after being in business for so long people can stoop so low! They should be actors rather than run a business..they should use their talent in other fields also. There's more money there Satsang guys...coz that's all you seem to care about.

I found it a bit too expensive. Also, they do not price their packed savouries. In fact there is no price labelling. One has to keep on asking "how much is this". They will then quote you a price and you have to go with it if you want to buy that product. Also they do not give you a purchase receipt. All they give you is a credit card payment slip if you pay by a credit card. If you pay cash then it is simply thank you - No receipt.

I used to like Satsang restaurant but it appears they have lost all of their standards. Three times I came and they had no potatoes to go with our scrambled tofu. Then we had to wait twenty minutes for a coffee refill, it was not busy. A lot of staff but no one seemed to know what they were doing.

One of the places which will rejuvenate your taste buds of having authentic Indian cuisine which ranges from sweets to savoury. Liked it because of dont get that acid reflux from there food items which you usually get from having so called Indian restaurants and shops. I know never found very decorative. Interior or exterior but worth giving a try for the taste what they serve😋.

You're likely to receive a warm welcome at this takeaway shop. The fresh curries - all vegetarian, after all its a vegetarian & vegan takeaway - are good, no complaints about that at all! The samosas were salty for my palate as was the Sambaro ( shredded cabbage carrots and papaya flash fried in mustard seeds chilli and green peppers). The ghatiya were average as is their red chutney. The jalebi was okay, but needs recipe refinement as they are not that crispy. All in all definitely would come back for the curries and nothing else except the ladoo and barfi halwa.

We ordered some food this week for a party. It was very tasty, not too oily and not very spicy. There are many savory and sweet dishes to choose from. One can go and do a take away for a small number of people. Best option will be to ring them.

This vegetarian sweet shop does some of the best tiffin and vegetarian curries in the area. The selection of traditional sweets, fried and baked Indian treats is excellent. For those who have great knowledge of this food and for the novice alike the shop welcomes and accommodates everyone. The Punjabi samosas are my favourite.

If you need a quality, pure vegetarian food or snacks, this is the perfect place. You can eat here but the space is limited. I would advise for takeaway. The food is prepared in a "Satvik" way and is very very tasty.

I was in Ilford again last Saturday. Walking to my car I passed Satsang and this time I decided to try one of their take-away full meals which I had noticed the last time I visited (see my last review). Well, the meal was excellent. For the £4 fixed price I got tasty soup with 3 small chapatis and for the main vegetables and rice. This would have been enough on its own, but, I have to admit, I was a bit greedy and ordered an extra vegetable dish at a cost of £1.50 (making the whole thing £5.50). The food is served in microwaveable dishes, so easy to loosen the lids and microwave at home. (The guy at the counter gives instructions how to microwave them, if you need it.) An excellent and useful little place.

I dropped in today on the back from my barber's. The veggie samosas and spinach chapati were great, as usual. For the first time I walked to the back of the shop to pay, instead of just waiting at the counter. There I noticed they have a take-away full meal section @ £4 a time. I hadn't realized this till now; I thought it was just a samosa and sweet shop. Something for me to try next time.

Now and then I drive into Ilford to see an NTL production at Cineworld (see my earlier review) and/or to get my hair cut. I generally park my car in one of the streets off Ley Street (near my barber's) and walk into the town centre. On my way to the cinema, I pass a number of local basic eateries that look worth a visit, but I haven't had the time. However, I have eaten take-away at some of the local snack bars, and yesterday I dropped into "Satsang": it's an Indian sweet mart that also does snacks and savouries. I believe you can eat in, although it's very small, but, as I was pressed for time, I had a take-away which consisted of 2 of their massive samosas (there are smaller versions on offer), 2 large pakora, a couple of things that had peas in and 2 tubs of sauce (one brown, one reddish). They heated it up for me, and I consumed all these goodies en route to the town centre. The owner took his time to explain what was on offer, and everything I ate was excellent. Don't expect too much, the area isn't Hampstead Garden Suburb, but it's safe, and the shopkeepers are friendly and professional. Satsang also advertises that it does outdoor catering. Worth a visit, if you're near.
