We travelled to the bar on purpose, to see how the hype and reputation for ourselves. Amazing job taking what must have been a far out disused shop into such a highly ranked cocktail bar. That story I would like to hear more about. But.... The bar has a daily menu, a blend of house specials and classics. Almost 30min total. Hint: less is more. The menu is hard to read and hard to chose from. Simply having 12 seasonal drinks (or monthly if you m ust would be more than enough. And this long menu mens the cocktails end up being not that special. The room is nice, eclectic, without any particular style. Would we come back? No.

Recommended by another waitress at another bar, the "bar staff's favourite bar". We went late, we were still given a table, nice & chilled vibes, bar staff & waiting staff were very friendly, everybody in the place was cool no pretentiousness, we had a couple of drinks & said we'd definitely go there again.

A great experience! The menu is terrific and changes daily. The bartenders make clever and tasty cocktails. They’ll also make your traditional favorite, hoping it’s the best you’ve had. The Manhattan is great, but be sure to try others. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The interior is kind of whacky, which makes this place great. Enjoy!

The drinks are delicious, the atmosphere's great, the friendly and professional staff know their stuff. It's on the main road but the shop front is unobtrusive, and so it feels nicely secluded and off the beaten track. Far better than your corporate bar chains. Very much looking forward to coming back.

Came here after hearing how great it was and it did not disappoint. Great service. Fantastic cocktails and the little hummus board was banging! Will definitely be back :)

This was a pre dinner drinks stop for us, we hadn't booked but they thankfully could fit us in. Great cocktails, great service!!

We went here for a drink on a Sunday evening, at the recommendation of an awesome bartender from another establishment. Her recommendation did not lead us astray! We easily found two seats at the bar, despite having no booking, and had great service from the bartender. Great atmosphere; the playlist is vintage hip hop at just the right volume and the seating unfussy. The cocktail list (which changes daily) is focused on classic cocktails, executed perfectly. And both of ours were, with perfect balance and spot-on flavors. Nice mix, across the list, of boozy stuff, refreshing stuff, and dessert stuff. Highly recommended!

Hadn't visited for a couple years and finally found my way back to Bethnal Green to visit this gem. The penicillin was out of this world. Hip hop in the background as well as the beaut decor makes this a stylish place to have drinks with mates or with your partner.

Had heaps of advice from the super friendly and knowledgeable staff who were very on the ball but not overbearing. Loved their input and really appreciated the advice. Favernum is delicious and so is she. Love her. Xoxo

I loved this place. It looks immense from the outside, to the weird taxidermy inside. The cocktails were immense, but a bit on the sour side for my tastes. Definitely check this one out

Probably one of the best spot in town to have fun. the staff is awesome and the drinks on spot. and the playlist is simply staggering. Great location as is located few seconds away from the tube and same words for the prices.

It's cozy but the downfall is the volume of the music. Difficult to have a conversation without shouting and because people were trying to speak over the volume the room sounded...loud. The staff are great and very accommodating. Cocktails were delicious but the food we ordered was overpriced for what it was was warm and not hot. We didn't have much time to send it back. Will go back as it's local but try to book a table on weekends as it gets busy.

We went to Satan's Whiskers tonight and had fantastic cocktails (Grenadiers, Pisco Sours etc), better than many I've had in top central London hotels and bars. The staff were attentive and professional, will definitely be returning.

An excellent choice of cocktails using fresh ingredients and a menu that's updated daily. Prices were under £10 too which is pretty good value for London.

We went there yesterday night because I googled it and found it had good cocktails . We got there all the way from Hertfordshire .. the waiter or who ever the guy was , manger or head waiter whatever . He was the most mean man I have ever come across even borderline racist .. telling us we couldn’t seat at the bar we could not spilt the team. after I had offered to let 2 of us go out of the 6 of us so the others can be served , he was still insisting that he can’t serve us and split the team no choice was given if we wanted to do first , the Stools we sat at the bar he came and said it is reversed you guys need to leave . next thing he told us to leave the bar we felt very insulted , he said I can tell u what other bars to go to but you need to leave here omg never being so embarrassed wanted ya to walk around bethenal green . It really just felt like because we were a bunch of black people . Well mate you lucked out because we went to the bar next door the cocktail bar London and spent over 500 pounds on drinks alone .. they will tell u .. when we go into bars it’s not to just drink a glass and nurse that glass . We drink n eat so ur bar lucked out very disappointed to say the least and will never return.

For years I'd assumed this was a rough bar due the name, dark windows & rather shabby exterior! Its actually a trendy, hipster bar with terrific cocktails. The cocktail menu changes daily and they have a selection of snacks too. From the moment we walked in the door, the staff were friendly and helpful. In fact it felt like ever single staff member came up to say hello- which actually felt a bit odd! Water was brought out without asking which was a nice touch. Some of the cocktails were a little pricey for their size, but each were delicious. The menu included burgers and several small snack plates. Perfect for a cocktail before going elsewhere for a meal, but not somewhere I'd spent all night due to the prices. A great find and somewhere I'd recommend when in the area. A 3min walk from both Bethnal Green undergound and Cambridge Heath overground- right in the middle.

Meet a friend at Satan’s Whiskers for a drink. Ask the young lady for a whiskey drink on the sweet and she recommended the Devil’s Shake (Whiskey, Orange, Ginger and a little Maple Syrup.) Probably my favorite new drink. It was amazing.

A partir del 14/11/18, este es el bar n. ° 2 en Londres (podría haber probado el bar n. ° 1, pero no se llamaba 'Satan's Whiskers'). Can't believe I haven't been here before! The outside certainly doesn't give any idea of what's inside. Very cool interior with a well stocked bar and friendly, knowledgeable staff. A good selection of cocktails and staff are happy to make suggestions too. Some very quirky taxidermy give the place a cool vibe along with the hip hop music. It gets very busy so book a table or arrive early. Food looks great too.

We were staying in the travel lodge down the road and this was one of the cocktail places came up when i googled it. Was not disappointed! Very quirky, cozy atmosphere with a great smell of insense burning and a great range of cocktails- enjoyed the green fizz one. Was quite busy so would advise booking.

Arrived late on a Saturday night and it was full. About to leave when a waitress asked us to wait a moment and sure enough a party left soon after and we were seated. Intriguing collection of cocktails, many nor seen before. And unusual décor!

Absolut cooler Pub mit tollem Charme (sehr klein und gemütlich). Höhere Preisklasse der Getränke, aber das schmeckt man auch. Und für das Ambiente dort hab ich gern mit bezahlt. :)

El exterior es sosa y casi viejo, con una pequeña señal de neón "Satanás los bigotes" en neón que es fácil perderse. Pero, sería una lástima si no. Abrir la puerta y encontrar un interior moderno, peculiar (con un Badger taxidermy hat), atento, amable y experto personal, buena comida de pub, y fantásticas bebidas mixtas. El día a día cambios menú de bebidas, y los camareros están dispuestos a recomendar opciones no en el menú. Tuve la Aviator y el coñac francés, que con 75 es, en mi opinión, la mejor bebida conocida a la humanidad. Cualquiera que disienta, luchar contra mí. Hemos estado dos veces durante nuestros 10 días en Londres y volveremos antes de irnos. Si se aloja en el Ayuntamiento, debe conocer este lugar. Si estás en Londres, esta es la pena el viaje y a una corta distancia a pie de la estación de metro Bethnal Green.

Pequeño e íntimo y normalmente muy ocupados, creo que puedes reservar por adelantado, pero nunca he. El servicio es bastante bueno, las bebidas son mejor me sentí bienvenido y bien cuidado y muy feliz después de unos pocos.

This place is amazing. You wouldn't stumble across it by accident but look for it. The staff are very friendly and the servers are masters at their craft. Cocktails are delicious and there is something for all tastes. Bar snacks are lovely and I would recommend going just for their scotch eggs. Top notch

Was taken here as part of a birthday weekend treat staying in East London with my son and his partner. They know me well, this is the kind of place I love! Quirky but cosy interior with the odd stuffed animal and retro posters. Not too noisy, not too busy, good music and friendly efficient staff. Good list of cocktails - not too long or confusing and when I hesitated about my second one - he asked me a couple of questions and recommended a mai tai, he must have been psychic as that was just perfect! The snacks looked good too but we had dinner reserved elsewhere so didn't try them. Shame it's so far from home or I would be a regular!

Was waiting to see a show nearby so thought we'd kill some time in this place. Turned out to be a way better decision than expected. Loved the drinks, even making a mocktail which isn't on the menu, and the staff were really cool and helpful. One of our group had an unfortunate issue due to his clumsiness but the bar staff helped to clear it up and got him a replacement!

The cocktails and drinks are amazing here. The food is also very good and the staff were good at helping us choose. Definitely the most interesting decor I've seen in a while. The service overall could have been a bit more attentive for example, they brought us the wrong bill and we had to point this out to them. However, overall a pleasant evening.

I have been trying to find places close to work for some colleagues to go and someone mentioned this place. As others have said, the outside it's the most inviting however, something about a book and it's cover comes to mind. Over a period of weeks I have tried various menu items. I have also asked them to prepare other well known drinks and that's not a problem. Not this is the best bit. Yesterday I asked them to give me something unusual. I was asked what I liked. I replied whiskey/bourbon base, as a short with little ice and no fruit juice. I was presented with a 'Left Hand'. It was delicious. Thanks Joe and Josh. I'll be back

My wife and I were devided to try here randomly while staying at a nearby hotel. The exterior is unpromising but inside, the decor and atmosphere are excellent. Unusual taxidermy and cool music seem attract a crowd and you should probably book to get a table. We sat at the bar and were very happy but saw numerous peoplewaiting or being turned away. The service was excellent and the approachable, knowledgable staff were able to offer suggestions based on type of drink preference if needed.Highly recommended!

Really love this bar. Really good cocktails and backbar. They always seem to get the music just right and the staff are friendly, but not too friendly; cool but not too cool. Book a table if there's a few of you. Great for dates, solo drinks and drinks with pals.

Stumbled across this on the map when staying in Bethnal Green, from the outside you would never have known that inside was a quaint, fancy cocktail bar. The staff were very attentive, table service is a lovely touch. And as for the cocktails, wow, I had a beautiful port cocktail, and my partner had a gin and cucumber one, they were incredible! It was clearly very popular as people kept waiting for tables and getting turned away so I'd definitely recommend booking.

A great neighbourhood bar. The service is also second to none with recommendations available if you don't know what you want. Their menu changes daily so if you don't see your favourite always ask; and don't be shy to order a trashy blended drink either as the service isn't judgmental unlike other cocktail bars of the same standard. And it's good to see a menu of classic cocktails sat alongside fun modern contemporary drinks. You will also enjoy your cocktail alongside a taxidermy badger and some excellent hip hop tunes. Highly recommended!

This is my friendly neighbourhood cocktail bar and I love it so much I don't know why I'm sharing it!Very small and cosy with lots of quirky bits. I've been to literally hundreds of different cocktail bars in London but you can't beat satans. Seriously never had a drink in here I didn't like!Don't leave without trying a grasshopper-minty and chocolaty mmmmm!

I went there for dinne and at the end I was glad that I stopped by. The cocktails were excellent, the beef burger was delicious and the waiter was super pleasant. When I'll be in London again, I'll definitely go back there.

1st time there. Quirky deco. Very friendly staff. Excellent cocktails and mocktails. Great value for money too! (For example the sweet potato chips I had were not only top quality, it was a very sizeable portion too!) Will most definitely recommend it to friends AND come again :)

My husband and I always look for the dark & cozy drinking hole with an edge whilst exploring a new city or area. The staff - friendly & knowledgeable. The music - great selection of underground hip-hop and killer sound-system. And the drinks - excellent! Cant wait to return!

I can't say that they alway play great old school hip-hop but last night they were and through a great sound system. Not too loud but loud enough that you could both hear it and have a conversation. The bar is dimly lit and decorated well in a simple style. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable about their craft - making drinks. Good selection of bourbons and whisky. We had already eaten which we regretted as the bar menu looked perfect. Next time for sure. I could hang out here for a long time. Prices are pretty reasonable.

After a long day at work you have to relax somehow. If you looking for properly executed mixed drinks and an awesomely eclectic easy-speaking bar, it's a must try! Will return!

Hit Satan's Whiskers late on Saturday night in a party of six. As a warning, the outside looks grim and would probably have walked past if a friend hadn't recommended it.Courteous staff asked us to wait for ten minutes for a table as it was very busy. Lovely atmosphere, good music,nice lighting and an amazing collection of stuffed animals and a 'unicorn' skeleton!We had wine and a cheese board instead of cocktails. All were good and the service was excellent.Would definitely recommend.

The first thing to mention is the decor... it's eclectic, funky, vintage cool. A good start. The staff are friendly and fun, but with a keen eye for service. Most importantly for a cocktail bar, though, is the quality of their drinks... and they don't disappoint. Highly recommended.

Fantastic little bar just a 5 minute walk from Bethnal Green tube station, fun atmosphere and very well made drinks a decent selection of bar snacks if your hungry. I can recommend the Paloma and the Zombie two very well made classics. The bar gets very busy so would advise arriving early.

We went with a load is bar tenders for a birthday party on a random visit!We after sampling many drinks on the menu we then asked for off menu drinks and classics!!!We was surprised by the clinical and perfect execution this was done married up with friendly helpful service.It's a reminder of what a great bar should be like! The first rule of Satan's Whiskers is, nobody talks about Satan's Whiskers. You can't find it. I've been coming here for a couple of years now (from across town - it's that good) and it's still hard to find. (Look for the tiny red neon sign)Which is great, because I don't want you to find it; because it's that good. The exterior is like the graffiti scenes from Twelve Monkeys - you can walk past ten times and not realise there was even a door. But inside...A short but exceptionally polished cocktail list (I recommend the Satan's grapefruit Americano), in relaxed filament-lit surroundings, a perfect lazy oldskool and hip-hop soundtrack, and an impeccable sharing menu, all delivered by a team who genuinely, really want to be there, and are happy that you're there too.This is how a bar should be done. All the staff proudly say that they're a "neighbourhood" bar. Well, I don't live anywhere nearby, and I hope they never decide to chuck me out.

Dropped in last night on an impulse.Early Monday evening only a few people about so we could monopolies the bartenders time and talent who mixed a couple of Old Fashions to die for. Would appeal to couples wanting to start the night off properly or anyone who needed to shake the stress of the day off with a little something perfectly mixed and presented.Don't be put off by the exterior. Surprisingly not too expensive.

Table service here has always been great but I really recommend sitting at the bar if there's just a couple of you drinking. This is true at all good bars, but no more so than Satan's Whiskers. All the staff are wonderful, and most especially Joe! Not only is he welcoming and friendly, but he really knows his drinks and can make outstanding recommendations based on what you usually drink. He also wrote me a list of recommendations of good bars in New York, because he heard us mention going there later in the year, which is just brilliant, extra-mile stuff. Thanks for taking care of us!

Found this place by chance after a night out. By day looks closed down but by night it comes alive. Only had drinks here but they were very nice drinks

Been waiting ages to visit and it was class. Jane, Dan and Josh provided great service and stopped to chat more than once even though it was kinda busy. Menu changes daily but the staff were offering recommendations - all the drinks were great and relatively inexpensive. Decor - class. Music - class.

nice cozy place , very good service , would definitely recommend it the prices are average i would recommend this place to you for a drink on weekend you have to book in advance as this place is usually full of people

Love going here for a couple of cocktails before a meal. Interesting decor, lovely cocktails, the service is always really good & friendly too! Must book a table tho as you have to be seated to drink here.
