The food tastes good. The service is friendly. The price is moderate, not expensive compared to other restaurants in this area. I would like to improve the odor absorption system in the kitchen will be perfect. I love this restaurant. The best in thus area.

Not the first time we have been to Saro’s. We absolutely love the food and the atmosphere. The smaller restaurant size means that service is quick. Staff are so friendly and the new menu is perfect!!!

Saro’s thai cafe is hands down the most authentic Thai food we have had in the uk so far. I opted for the Tom yum soup that was hot, sour and delicious, the meat and eggs were cooked perfectly and the cracker was an excellent addition. My husband went for the pork mince with Thai basil and Chilli, a favourite for us all and it didn’t disappoint, lovely heat and umami flavour. The girls both went for a prawn pad Thai, the portion was big and we brought some away but it didn’t last long when we got home. Everything about the cafe is authentic, service is friendly and great. Really enjoyed it and we will be back next time we are in Portsmouth.

What I had: Crispy pork belly, which was tasty but a bit overcooked and chewy, a tiny amount of salad that didn’t really go with it, think TESCO salad leaves, a small dish of sauce, which was delicious but only about a tablespoon and a half of it. Sticky fried rice was yum. Not much atmosphere. Slightly patronising service for some reason. For £11.99 I feel ripped off. Unhappy.

was lovely last time but place almost empty this time. veg in soup undercooked, meal had greasy taste and all noodles, very little beansprouts or veg in main meal. had bad stomach later so probably won't go back, shame.

I’m in Portsmouth for a few days for a training course and enjoy Thai food so I tried Saro’s. The Pad Thai on Tuesday was lovely and a generous portion, and the mango and fried sea bass salad on Wednesday matched it. Don’t know what I’ll have tonight, but I doubt i’ll be disappointed!

Saro's Thai Cafe is a little oasis amongst the many fast food outlets that dominate the city centre area. Simply furnished but with good Thai food at moderate prices.

Keep going back, again & again and every time exactly the same, great tasting healthy food, going to stop going out for breakfasts and wait for Saro's to open as with a bowl of Jungle Curry I'm set for the day. I've sampled many Thai outlets and I believe them to be the most authentic. Mrs B is GF and they can make most meals GF on request, Pork Belly & Pad Thai being her favourites. Interesting to note that most diners are Asian which I take as a very good sign.

This was the tastiest meal we’ve had out in 6 weeks in the UK. Fresh ingredients and piping hot food. The price was great too. Highly recommended.

We just popped into Portsmouth and found this little gem. The menu was really interesting and the food was excellent. Very much street food rather than haute cuisine but very tasty and even more reasonably priced. Beware, the portions are extremely generous so either ask for a leftovers box or be prepared to waddle out! Even more, the staff were super-friendly, courteous and lovely. Will definitely come back again.

We had the duck spring rolls which came with an amazing sauce, the crispy pork with rice was lovely, eggs were cooked well, for a take away it looked a lot like the photos which is lovely to see. Also really good portion sizes, had enough for left overs which is always nice. The chicken pad Thai was very good and the option to add nuts was greatly appreciated. Lovely servie, lovely food and lovely atmosphere. Would recommend.

Aroy-Dee Thai is a cosy little restaurant in Castle Road (previously Nings). Food is always excellent and with generous helpings. Thoroughly recommend for relaxing atmosphere, but delicious food.

My partner and I are regulars here. It's easily the best Thai place in Portsmouth and one of the very few authentic places. It's so hard to find authentic Thai in the UK but this place is it. Value for money is excellent and with it being BYOB we rarely spend more than £20 a head.
