Today myself had been to this hotel , sorry to say hopless service no crowd had a coffee and takeaway of the six oothappams , came home and to our horror and disappointment found a Masla dosai,, APART FROM THE MONETARY LOSS . AFTER WAITING FOR A LONG TIME THE LADY WHO SERVED US JUST CAME AND JUST GAVE US THE WRONG PACKAGE

the restaurant has undergone a name change, and unfortunately, the food quality has declined. The dosa was excessively oily. While most of the staff were courteous, one individual was particularly rude and even threatened to sue me when I questioned why I was being charged for a water bottle that I never ordered. They’ve started placing opened water bottles on customers' tables, giving the impression that they’re complimentary, only to add them to the bill later. This tactic feels deceptive and is an unpleasant way of collecting money from customers. I’ve been a loyal customer for many years without any issues, but the Wembley branch seems to have become less customer-friendly. Our visit was on Sunday, August 18, 2024, at 10:05 AM.

While the food tasted good, the customer service was terrible. We ordered tea at the beginning and had to chase for the tea till the end. Falooda for my son came the last when we finished the tea when I had almost cancelled it. Poor and terrible service. And they add gratuity to the bill without asking the customers feedback or concent. The person who takes the order at the beginning will not look at your face again.

This is our second visit. Honestly the food and quality & price is good. Only problem they have is their service is really very very poor. We have to wait about 30 minutes before they brought our food to the table that was also after I have to ask......... I mentioned this to lady supervisor but they seem to careless. I hope management will take some action before clients get put off.

Excellent food, service and ambience. The Masala Dosa is something which is out of the world. I am from Chennai the home of Dosa's, but with certainty I can vouch the Masala Dosa here is too good.just melts in your mouth.

Food is awful, very unreasonably priced and service is poor. Please avoid this restaurant in Wembley if you are expecting the same quality vegetarian food as in other Saravanaa Bhavan's in east London. On top of everything bad, they added 10% service charge on the bill, which was later removed when we highlighted their service is so poor.

I am from Chennai and have been to many sarvana bhawans since 2001. I have to various branches in London since 2005. Wembley is the last one I will go to based on all my experiences. They re-furbished recently and changed the look. They significantly increased the price but the quality and the customer experience have gone down. We ordered Cauliflower Manchuria, which was very salty and awful. We complained about this and asked them to take it away but they made it again and forced us to eat. We tried again but the same. We tried Paneer Makhani, which is again salty, a different taste (not typical Saravana Bhavan) - which we didn't like. I think many staff may not have been to Saravana Bhavan in Tamil Nadu and so may not know the taste, quality or its values. Overall, re-refurbishment may have changed the look but the food is pricey, and poor in quality and taste. Not value for money compared to other restaurants nearby. Me and my friends won't go there again.

Amazing place for vegetarians. The best thing about them is their quick service, despite being super busy all the times. We went there for Dinner, and next day for Breakfast, and weren't disappointed at all. We had North Indian Thali, which was more than sufficient in quantity, and quality wise as well. For breakfast, we had Uttappam, and Idli-Wada Sambar, and it was all freshly made you can tell that. One might say that the tables appear very close to each other, but then they are always busy, and with limited space, it would be a queue outside too.

Really lovely space to enjoy some authentic vegetarian Indian dishes. Attentive staffs like Naveen & Priya who were on point & v.helpful with their service. We had the Mushroom 65, plain Dosa, Kara Dosa, Masala Dosa, & some Mango Lassi with a Falooda which all came out at good timing, hot, crunchy & tasty spices, they are generous with the sauces. It’s a place to surely visit with the family + friends. Wolfed the food down before I remembered to take a picture but I’ll be back to do just that :) F

Used to love saravana bhavan, but the last few trips the food hasn’t been tasty, lacks in spice and lacks in savory flavor’s.

I was craving a falooda and heard that they do a great one here. Well I was a little disappointed while it was decent not what I expected! However unexpectedly their filter coffee was amazing!!! Absolutely loved that! Been craving it ever since a perfect warmer.

slow service, food quality bad and not hot, under staff, no greeting no smile, no one cares as we waited for more than 30 minutes to get a thali, idli was hard and cold, dosa was cold, value for money below, toilets are dirty..

I have been to Eastham branch many times with good experience. Today was first at Wembley and two bad experiences: toilets are filthy, absolutely disgusting and secondly my meduvada was uncooked inside and no one seemed bothered when we told them

This is a chain , so the experience is very similar. service is highly dependent on the occupancy here.

I ordered the fallouda and we had waited about 20 minutes and when we had received it, the glass was full of BIG CHUNKS of apple. It was suppose to have mixed fruits in it but we had received only apples. The apples had made the fallouda sour and the drink tasted ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING To anyone that wants to go here think TWICE before ordering the fallouda

So the service is very good in comparison. We were served by Swati and she was great because she made the experience better. The food is also good, different to the other Saravana Bhavans we have been to - fresher, less masala and clean flavours. Loved it - credit to the waiters and their team leads/ manager- they are super hard workers and super friendly. Aneri needs to smile a bit more though.:)

My parents have been eating here for 20 years. During lockdown my mum (who was super sick with cancer) wanted to eat one of their dishes. My dad drove all the way (they are not close) and picked up her food. When she opened it up at home, half of the dish was missing. My parents called them the restaurant - the manager refused to refund them and said they could get the dish for free next time. Very sadly my mum passed away soon after that. I went back just now as I happened to be in the area and they refused to honor the free dish that they had promised and disputed what I was saying - even staying that I was "telling stories". I had already paid for the other 3 dishes I had ordered. I'm disgusted. This is how the treat the family of long time customers, one of whom has now passed away. I will never ever eat there or at any Saravanaa Bhavan ever again.

Family of 15 went there for my mum's 88th birthday. Food is so, so fresh and tasty. Prices are good and service is fine. Would go there again, and also recommend to family and friends.

I ate Dosha at Saravanna Bhavan, Wembley. just after that, I did not feel good. Material used to prepare Dosha was not at all good. Visited the branch based on my past experience with other branches. Giving 1 rating for the staff, service was good at this center.

Quick service. It is a bit noisy but partly because traditional South Indian restaurants use stainless steel serveware.

Terrible food and terrible customer service. I think it would be best if you were to avoid this restaurant if you get the chance. It's overpriced for god knows why. For 2 starter and 3 main I paid £50 which we didn't even eat. I'd advise you to avoid this place but it's up to you if you want to go in ~

This particular franchise seems to be going downhill. Having visited it two years ago I don’t remember it being so lacking in customer service and food quality. The waiters are not welcoming and are absolutely disinterested in providing you with a good experience.Standard South Indian fare. Good dosas are a given but the accompanying sambar was such a letdown.The rava Kesari that we ordered for dessert was thankfully delightful. Moist melt in mouth taste with a rich ghee laden smooth texture. The tables were not stacked with tissues or the steel tumblers meant for water. Cheap eats need not be cheap in experience. The toilets were in a state of disrepair with no regards for hygiene or cleanliness.

I have been to many sarvana bhawans including some in India. This one in Wembley is the worst after assessing all my experiences. Food taste is awful so as the quality. Hygiene as well of the restaurant is not that promising. There were no soap in toilet and no toilet roll. The sink for hand wash area looks filthy. Overall the food is pricey too for such a poor quality and poor taste of so called South Indian food. This is a failed franchise. Sorry to say that.

This is a southindian's review on the food. visited on the 11th Aug 2019. Onion dosa that was served was just regular dosa stuffed with huge pile of raw onion. When enquired, the staff just rudely said this is how onion dosas are made and questioned if I was a southindian. I have an image of the dosa, which I can't upload here unfortunately. Then there was hair in the cashew pulao which was anything but rice with fried cashew and jeera. When complained about it the staff did not even bother to apologise but simply snatched the plate off the table. I hope this reaches as many customers wanting to visit the restaurant as it is simply not acceptable that they are passing off such poor quality food as southindian authentic food under the brand name of saravana bhavan.

As South Indian vegetarian we have extremely few choices. During travels , it’s a pleasure to see this Saravanaa group Restaurants (anywhere.). We can get authentic South Indian snacks . This is a clean restaurant with quick service.

Visted recently as we love South Indian vegetarian food. The food is okay but could be better. The Dosa went cold too quickly and the Uttappam was too oily. The water on the table should be colder it was more then room temperature. The hand tissues were scarce.

Been coming to this restaurant for the last few years but what we have notice is over that time the service is going down hill. Now I'm not blaming the staff I'm saying more of management that needs improving, we can sit here can give you loads of examples but it ain't going to make a difference.

À notre arrivée le restaurant est complet, le serveur nous demande de patienter 5 minutes. Dans le temps imparti nous sommes installés. Les serveurs ne parlent pas français, nous pas anglais. Première expérience de restaurant indien, aïe ça pique. Au hasard nous choisissons potato bonda (Excellent) et des dosas à la coriandre (Excellent). Malgré l'abondance de serveurs le service est moyen (Par deux fois nous débarrassons notre table...). L'addition est inverssement proportionnelle aux épices pour quatre plats 18 livres.

Service staff is terrible in customer service and the way they are answering for question is rude. they are not placing the food on table they are literally throwing on table.Look at the way they are giving food (splitted sambar". no one came and ask "is everything is okay with the food". very disappointed with thier customer service..never going ro reccomend webley saravanaa bhavan branch.

Lovely indian food and the masala dosa is yum as always. The thali is also very tasty with good options. The staff is very friendly and service is first class.

Had dosa, mushrooms, and Gobi pakoda here. Loved the pepper fry mushrooms very much and yes I just loved their green and coconut chatni very very much. Gobi pakoda was not bad at all but not as I love eating in Mumbai. Overall nice place to be.

Went recently for the first time service was poor asked several times for napkins and water in the end had to get them myself. It was very busy but lack of attention to customer service would stop me going back despite the food being delicious

We have been to Saravana Bhavan in east London, rayners lane and Wembley. The one at Wembley Is below standard. The food was too oily and doesn’t meet the SB standards. I would not recommend this place.

This place serves great South Indian (tamil nadu) vegetarian delicacies. I tried idli vada coffee one evening and paneer dosa & coffee during another evening. Food was tasty and served hot and stomach friendly. People were also trying Meals combo and other north indian items.

I ordered steamed rice cake and lentil doughnuts, and rice and lentil pancakes. They came with an assortment of chutneys and tasty sambar. The food came out in just a few short minutes, and was delightful. The staff was super attentive, fast, friendly, and efficient. Highly recommend for authentic, reasonably priced South Indian food.

I visit this place few times a year. All the staff were not polite. Not concerned about our order. Never looking in the eye. Not responding to any request. It looked like a completely different place. It used to be crowded now I can see just few people on a day like Saturday. I used to go there because of the food. The food quality was extremely bad. Too oily, too spicy, the puri was like papodams. Lassi was too sweet. It was a joke. My family had to leave hungry and upset. Never again

We visited this restaurant with family and one of the curries came awfully sour and not like the one we taste at the restaurants mother branch in tooting.The waiters crowded around my 5 year old daughter who was having a melt down as she has special needs and stared at her.

Honestly, if you're looking for a typical 'restaurant experience', go somewhere else. Staff are not tolerable and will not be any help, let alone go out of their way to meet your every need.

I do not write reviews but this experience encourages me to do.we went for dinner on 25/12/2018 about 8.30pm, order food manger make us rush to do all orders in 1go...after he bring food which all food gravy tests the same..we call him & explaining but he said it’s like that only comes.. We complain to lady I thing she is owned the place she didn’t apologise or any this rather than she started aggressive & get involved in argument with other members of my family...not even said sorry..... Not recommended with family.....

Very authentic south Indian food and very good service. Bit pricey for a normal restaurant where you would visit frequently and unplanned. All south Indian is good. They have weekdays(mon-thu) unlimited breakfast and lunch

Highly recommend the tea and food has always been great- no negatives about any. Service is very fast however cannot obtain the attention of a waiter/waitress easily. Very nice and cheap food.

As my well liked restaurant nearby ( saraswathy bhavan) was closed ; I had to re-visit this place. The hygiene standards are below the norm. Brent council would shut this place if they see what I’ve seen in the loo and the wash basin areas. People gargled and even after asking the waiter to tell the ‘ manager’ nothing of substance happened. Food was normal but the service is abysmal. Almost all the waiters were on their mobiles and polity was out of window. When I finished , the plates were left on the table while my next order was brought on. Unprofessional staff.

I came here for lunch, the food was ok but nothing special honestly. The crust of the masala dosa was too soft and the filling too. The sauces with it, were too salty and so were the mushrooms, the other dish that I ordered.

We have been Sarvanaa Bhavan Wembley it was very busy at lunch time, I must say Very nice & tasty food, & quick service good value for money. We will definitely visit again.

I’ve been here 4 times now. I didn’t have the greatest experience the first time but I genuinely thought the food was nice which is the only reason I’d been back again. However, food aside, the customer service there (including from the manager) is so apauling even the food wouldn’t take me back again. The waiters all look like they’re not allowed to legally work yet and are absolutely useless in answering questions. Us as a family of 4 walked in and followed one in for two menus to be thrown onto the table. They barely understand English to be able to communicate effectively when questions are asked as they don’t understand the question! Cutlery given was not washed well so hygiene inspection is needed! Considering we got there at 6pm when it was very quiet for an early dinner the floors were very sticky so. It been cleaned. Ordered drinks just got left at the end of the table and didn’t even have the decency to give them out. They are all incompetent and bad mannered, and have never seen an Indian restaurant which gives tomato ketchup as a dip instead of a chilli sauce, or chutney of some sort.

This is place is the original restraunt but seems to be a bootleg of its branch at southall. We asked the waiters for napkins and instead they kept serving other guests while we were left waiting with masala in our hands. The main person who showed any care for customers was the European chef god bless his soul who made eye contact and made us feel welcome. I ordered a paneer and not to my surprise I was left fishing for paneer in a pot of masala. The whole ambiance of the resteraunt was terrible no toilets paper in the toilets and they were also filthy. Please avoid at all costs.

I visited this place with my family for luch. We tried veg polau, masala dhosa and mango lassi. Food if very light and of balaced falouvours. We enjoyed each and every item we have tried. Service need to be improved.

My wife and Myself went this Lunch to this restaurant for our wedding anniversary, As we went through the front door we caught the back of a young waiter who look 16 years old. He look at us as if we were and inconvenience to him and questioned us with his eye brows. I then said Table for two please? Hoping he would carry on the polite manner, no chance. He then pointed out to the middle of the restaurant at a load of empty tables.

The food was amazing aswell the waiters were kimd enough but the person on the cashier named prakash was rude to the staff and as well with me. He was simply yelling at the customers who had queued up to pay and then even after confrontation he behaved as he was just trying to cover up what was wrong.

Authentic food, well I go there because it has delicious vegetarian dishes and served to commoner, who lives to eat.

We came here as my mom wanted to try thali. We ordered the North Indian Thalis. We are used to spicy food, but the spice level on the thalis was very high. A few were unable to eat much because of it. The flavour of the daal was delicious, but really hot. The flavour of the curries in the thali were average. Good value for the price though.

Saravana Bhavan’s food is simply delicious, with an absolutely authentic taste that I have never had anywhere else. It is on par with Indian restaurants in India.

Being a loyal SB customer, this was my first time at their outlet in Wembley. Never in my life have I come across such rude and inexperienced staff. After taking our order, they served Mysore masala dosa. After a wait of another 10-15 minutes, a waiter came to inform us in all his attitude that the “masala” for masala dosa is “finished”. My husband enquired why they didnt inform until now( almost 20-25minutes of being seated). He again said the same thing that it is “finished”. Literally, we wondered if we were at their restaurant begging for food. I changed the order and place new order for food they had in the kitchen as my two small kids were hungry. But all this rude behaviour from the staff made us cancel the order and we left the restaurant in haste.

Normally I don’t write bad reviews but I couldn’t stop myself this time .

As huge Dosa fans wherever we go, we purposely find ourselves making detours in order to try out new Dosa places.

I found this south indian restaurant when another restaurant by the same name in Willesden closed down. The food is traditional south indian (and tastes like it), the service was great, food came on time and we didn't have to wait long.

It is a pity that this is a reputable chain, but at least the one in Wembley is terrible. We have tried it several times. The thalis are terrible: the sauces are watery, very sweet, no taste at all. Even poppadoms are bad. The floor is dirty and not to mention the bathrooms. In cleanliness it is disgusting. I would prefer to pay more and get better food.

I live in the local community and regret I visited this restaurant again. The management sucks and doesn't train staff properly on customer service as it is visible.

I was at the Wembley Saravana bhava last Thursday with my mother during lunch. The restaurant was quiet and I hoped for a quick and efficient service. But i was taken aback by the service and food. The waiter was really rude. The food was served without cutlery , and it took him 20 mins before i got any attention. Infact, he walked away when I called him. My drinks were served at the end of the meal and the thali meal was bland.

Hier wird mit den Händen gegessen. Das Restaurant ist authentisch indisch. Vor dem Essen wäscht man sich die Hände am Waschbecken, das mitten im Raum steht. Dann isst man die Gerichte mit den Händen von Metallschüsseln und -Tellern. Anschließend geht es wieder zurück ans Waschbecken. Wasser steht auf dem Tisch (kostenlos). Die Preise sind sehr günstig. Das Essen ist sehr gut. Dafür ist natürlich die Einrichtung sehr spartanisch.

We went for Lunch. I had Idli Vada, and my wife South indian meal, also known as 'thali'. Bothe were very good, my Idly was not as soft as expected, but sambar and chutney were excellent. Indain coffee at the end was very good too

Table and glasses were dirty, my friends dishes were very oily. Also the starters we ordered (chilli mushrooms) were blatantly pre-made. They were brought to us within minutes and partially heated! Think there was a slight language barrier with the waiter serving us. Eventually he understood what vegan meant! We won’t be dining there again!

ordered Idli, Dosa and Uthapam. Chutney was spoilt and told the manager not to serve it to other customers. She did smell and said it was okay but should have tasted. We saw the same chutney being served to other customers. These restaurants don't know the consequence of serving bad food to the customers. They are playing with the customers health.

We go there often as a family (atleast once a month). The South Indian food is amazing - dosa, idli, vada, uthpam, rasam etc. Very reasonably priced. Service is quick. It's not a place to sit down and enjoy the ambience.. it's an eat good food and go place. I find the waiters nice and polite and service quick. We've tried several other South Indian restaurants in London but this remains our favourite.
