Came here on a weekday for dimsum but the place is still busy. The food was decent (typical variety for dimsum), just don't expect 5 star service.

This is one of the most authentic Chinese restaurants I have been to so far in London. It is up a flight of stairs so it is hard to locate but the food is spectacular and lots of shushus and ayis are chatting and having a good time. The tea sadly is a separate cost but the duck and dim sums are amazing!!!! I highly recommend it if you miss authentic Chinese food!

Only the food is impeccable, everything else leaves a lot to be desired. The staff is rude, the environment is unkept and some prices on the receipt did not correspond to those indicated on the menu.

We are a family of four and our two children are quite young- 6 and 2! We wanted to introduce them to Chinatown and Chinese food, we picked the perfect spot! The food was very tasty, well Prepared and value for money. We went for a set menu and added a couple of bits for the kids. The waiting staff were brilliant and really encouraged our children with the chopsticks and telling them what the food was and helping them along the way! There is a huge choice in Chinatown and sure there are equally as good restaurants. But this is a safe bet, with good food, great staff and not going to blow your budget. We will return.

Delish! For two of us we had the quarter duck, soft-shell crab, dumplings, and excellent dim sum platter. Perfect. Service was quick and responsive, which was hood as we were pressed for time. People near us were enjoying a more leisurely dinner.

One of the better places for service in Chinatown . The dimsum was delicious and juicy. The crispy seafood noodles were perfect. (Make sure to go before 5pm if you want dimsum for dinner!)

Proper authentic Chinese food. It's not smart, but the price (reasonable, given the quality of the food) reflects this. Helpful staff and a buzzy atmosphere make it well worth a visit.

Went here for a treat when I caught up with a friend in London. We had the set menu that was.£17.50 each (the menu outside said £17). There was a long queue when we arrived, but that went down pretty quickly so wouldn't let that put you off. The food itself was tasty, however I would say that the portions were a little tight but that is expected being on a set menu. It was a great way to taste the food and the food was really nice and wasn't greasy at all. Unfortunately we were placed by the air con unit so our food went cold really quickly but despite that, it did taste good so would recommend for sure. It was packed and seemed to be popular with toursists and non tourists, so defintely shows it's a good place to be. Price wise this was one of the more competitive places too. Service was okay good. Fairly prompt. We had to ask for tap water several times because they never gave it, but eventually did. I would recommend for sure, and the set menu was a good way of trying the variety of food.

Terrible attitude Store that deceives people and defrauds money

Eight went for a family Dim Sum at 12:30 on a Saturday lunchtime. The staff left us alone until we had finished our lengthy selection of which dishes to have. The place was busy. I had booked so we had a table - there were people queuing to sit. Dim Sum were great and nice to share. Nice staff and good service.

Well, I’d read all the reviews and was a little hesitant. However, we found this little gem went upstairs, taking STRAIGHT to a table the way to his superb although there was only four of us we ordered the banquet for six the food was exemplary. The service was fantastic, and I would highly recommend.

Called in after seeing the Restaurant featured in a London travel show by a well known chef, expected great Dim Sum and came away slightly disappointed. Food seemed a little bland compared to visits to other Chinese Restaurants in the area.

Very average Chinese restaurant. Tired decor. Food was nothing exceptional compared to their counterparts in Chinatown. If you like cornflour (alot), this is your place! Portions on some dishes were small compared to the price. One particular suggestion I would like to make to the front of house team, it would be nice not to casually touch peoples personal belongings, including coats on dining chairs when passing diners in stride. It's simply unhygienic. If I had the choice, I would choose not to pay service here.

Not a bad Chinese. It's based on the main street in Chinatown, but as it's upstairs (over two floors) it has lots of space so it doesn't get as busy/packed as some of the other restaurants 👍 The food is good, however I'd avoid the Spare Ribs, they were poor quality (no real meat on them, very grizzly and cost £10👎) Service is friendly and efficient 👍 Price is pretty reasonable given it's location 👍

Average dim sum quality for Chinatown although it was very busy. Portions were a bit small but it's a shrinkflation world we live in now.

Heard about the place but was worried when i saw a couple of negative reviews but here on a Wednesday for a dim sum lunch with my wife and must praise the excellent greetings and service. The food was delightful and is better than some of the others in Chinatown. Will come again.

I was really looking forward to giving a glowing review for this restaurant.....however, for us it was average .....a waitress who wished she was not working there by her attitude - I thought this restaurant was based on a smiling friendly service hitherto unknow in Chinatown...the spare ribs were not good, the kung po prawns were ok...singapore noodles good...however, the place was packed so they probably don't care too much about reviews like this... .

Very good attentive staffs, good atmosphere, spacious, nice tasty foods. Had a very good dinner. Reasonable price.

After reading great reviews, I came here with friends and family. We ordered a lot of food and it was good except for the dim sum platter. It was 4:30 so they don’t serve from the dim sum menu as it’s only offered at lunchtime. They do have a dim sum platter on the normal menu but it didn’t taste as good as other local restaurants. Everything else we ordered was good though (not the best in china town but good). The reason for my low star review is due to service. After about 45minutes we felt like they wanted us to leave as they kept hoovering over asking if we had finished many many times but we were all still eating. I got the impression they wanted a quick turnover of tables as it was a busy Saturday. Most restaurants allow a 2 hour seating (we were a party 7). We all felt like they just wanted our money and to clear our table for the next lot. To top it all off, when our 3 kids on the table wanted dessert, they said they don’t have any desserts today. We were upset as they should have told us that before we ordered. We could have eaten at any other restaurant in china town. Then we asked another waiter and he gave us a dessert menu and advised they had all the desserts. This made us very frustrated as the previous waitress should not have lied to us saying they had no desserts. She then saw that we found out and had to admit the truth of them not wanting to serve desserts as they were too busy in the kitchen. I think this is terrible customer service and I will never return here. I went to the “orient” restaurant in china town a couple of weeks before and the food and service and decor was 100 times better than this place, so my advise is to go there or anywhere else.

The crispy aromatic duck and chicken bao bun are delicious. Well worth queueing if you’re visiting on Sunday , fairly priced establishment.

We tried New Loon Fung because we were really interested in some of the Dim Sum options, but the meat mains we tried were excellent as well. Portion size right and prices very good, with most of the Dim Sum below £5. Particular highlights were the Grilled Pork and Prawn dumpling with Chives, and in terms of the mains, the Mama's style crispy spicy chicken. Drinks reasonably priced, we left stuffed and tipsy, all the staff were super attentive and polite. They re-filled our beers and tea and re-warmed our Sake without us needing to ask. First class, would recommend, and be adventurous with your choices, don't just get what you know!

We really enjoyed the dim sum yesterday, very tasty! There are friendly staff, food were served very quickly as well. Can’t wait to go back 👍🏻

This is a hidden gem! Don't be fooled by the looks of the restaurant because the food is sooo tasty and fresh! Reasonable pricing as well so I really recommend it!

We came here with our son and his friend in December 2022. It's supposed to serve very good dim sum hence the long queue along the stairs. Dim sum was quite average. Service was efficient. Reservation recommended.

Wonderful food! Loved everything we had. Service a little hurried and very noisy environment but then again it was Sunday lunch so it's to be expected. Definitely recommended!

Awful service. Food never arrived after 30 minutes. Everyone who came after got their food. Staff rude and indifferent. Never again. Avoid.

We went for lunch today. After waiting for 30 minutes and dealing with rude staff, with no food arrived. We paid for the one dish which did arrive and then promptly left. Never again. Avoid this place.

Crispy duck was excellent. Other food ok, satay chicken wasn't good. Nice service. Will go back.

Terrible waitrer man. The attitude is extremely bad. Please train well before you go to work. There is no basic quality in the service industry.

Small portion sizes with big price tags.

Always a bit sceptical of getting a Chinese in Chinatown ironically. We’d seen some decent reviews and decided to give it a try. A good sign that that restaurant was busy and we were ushered into a back room and shoehorned onto a table that was probably a bit too small for 6 of us. Service was decidedly slow and fairly brusque but when the dim sum arrived it was really good. We ordered some mains which were also fairly tasty and we left pretty happy with our feed just a little disappointed at the service and the speed.

The aromatic crispy duck with pancakes is really great, loved that. But as far as the food goes, that's also where it stops. The fried rice is quite dry, and the chow mein was dry (the noodle itself was not springy if you get what I mean) yet oily (coating that it was stir fried in). That wasn't the worst actually, the kailan (gai lan) drenched in oil was... it had the ginger and garlic flavour for sure, but it couldn't have been any oilier and lots of pieces were still hard/undercooked. The place itself looks ok but never have I seen other tables being broken down while people are still eating. I must say we were treated nicely by the waiters though... For that price however.... it's not worth it...

Took my food away when I wasn't even finished. They didn't even ask and took it away. What a shame.

We had a private event at the karaoke room, buffet menu. The food was amazing! It was so tasty! One of the best Asian food I had so far! We had loads of fun with the karaoke and the staff was always attentive and helpful. Thank you so much for the great evening!!!

We had a private event involving karaoke last night with around 20 people. The service was amazing, all of the staff were welcoming, the place was great. Must say, the best Chinese buffet I had ever had in my life . Will definitely go again!!!

Good food, nothing to write home about, but worth to go there, specially if you’re hungry.

Be sure to get here no later than 11:45am on a Saturday. It got pretty crazy with a queue around noon! Restaurant is large and service is fast. The turnip cake and Har gow was amazing! Perfect! Siu Mai was okay. The little beef pastries are also perfection.

We ordered a few items, such as crab with egg yolk £28 unfortunately the crab lacked flavour and wasn't worth the £28 personally I would have rather just sent it back. The duck was small for £14 however it tasted great, it wasn't too crispy and chewy and the sauce tasted beautiful. The tripe also lacked a lot of flavour, I suggest ordering a sauce to compliment it. We also enjoyed the scallop and prawn dumplings, as well as x2 steamed rice and bean curd in oyster sauce. Our original bill came up to £70 though there was a £9 service charge.

I shared dinner here with 5 work colleagues, and we each ordered things for our personal tastes but ended up sharing with each other. Two ordered the Vegetarian shared meal for two and boy, was it a lot of food for the $. The stir-fried tofu was the most delicious of the many plates they were served. One person ordered chicken spring rolls and fried rice, and she devoured the fried rice. Two co ordered crispy duck, a rice pancake dish, and a sweet & sour dish that were each uniquely flavored and healthy portions. I ordered the crispy fried lamb with ginger and scallions. The serving presentation reminded me of fajitas in a Mexican restaurant. The server brought a flaming hot cast iron plate supported by a pine wood tray.(it was so hot you could detect the odor of the wood sap) There was also a bowl of the entree which was poured onto the cast iron plate to further cook the entree. It sizzled, it smoked, and the air at the table was fragrant with ginger and garlic. 😋 I devoured my portions of food, and it stayed nice and warm on the skillet plate. There was plenty of ginger, scallions, lamb, and a few pieces of bokchoy, and together they were a taste I won't forget for a long time. Definitely some of the best authentic Chinese food I have tasted in many years. I will definitely return to New Loon Fung. I also want to compliment all of the servers and staff working here; they work as a well-oiled machine and keep the food coming, tables cleared, and customers happy and well fed.

Bland and tasteless food, better to go somewhere else.

The food was really good! Service was attentive, quick and efficient. The place was 'buzzy' and I suspect, there were quite a few regulars. Speaks volumes!

Went there a couple of times for dim sum lunch with a big family group. The food was good and the service was friendly which is not a given in Chinatown so it is highly appreciated. They also allow you to book in advance which is a great plus when you are going out with a big family group with old granny and baby cousins. Dim sum choices were plenty and you can get a lot of traditional dim sum dishes which is really good. The price is noticeably cheaper than a lot of places so great value for money. A very enjoyable experience overall. Would definitely go back.

Not quite sure how this place has such a high rating. Regretted having lunch here - had hot & sour soup and duck & crispy pork rice. The duck and pork rice was shameful and I essentially just used lot of chilli oil to add flavour. There were also some uncooked rice, which added to the poor experience.

Had five dim sums and two teas for two people around £30 for both. Got charged for the tea which was surprising as normally Chinese people get tea for free. Food was a bit bland but they provide chilli oil and sauce. Place was clean and toilets were clean.

Good food but terrible service as waiters are always on your back to order or for paying + they charge 12.5% as tips.

Good selection of authentic dim sum but for anyone who wants to try something a bit more then you must get the steamed scallops with garlic and vermicelli!

We had lunch, staff were friendly and nice. We ordered as starter a mix of dim-sum and was really tasty and different variety. My bf ordered some noodles with beef and was delicious was the right salt and very big portion. I ordered deep fried squid which was quite hard and I believe was not really fresh, I did eat it with some white rice which it helped but won’t order again. Overall was all good and we would try again if we come back to London 😊

Worst experience in Chinatown and the staff is lazy and very rude. Food is average at best. And to top it off they forced us to pay the 12.5% service charge which is discretionary and the customer should have the choice to pay it or not. If such restaurants cannot pay their staff good wage then they should not operate at all. Terrible terrible experience.. I highly recommend everyone to go elsewhere

After wondering around aimlessly not knowing which Chinese restaurant to eat in, for my first visit to China Town, I chose this one.....wasn't disappointing. The crispy duck for 1/4 was amazing at £11 it's £4 cheaper than my local Chinese take away up North and it was way better tasting. The rest of the food was reasonably priced for the area too. In total we had a noodle dish, 1 x rice, two main courses, quarter of a duck wirh pancakes, side order of sea weed, 3 soft drinks and a dessert of lychees and it was £69

Hi everyone, I would give it 0 but you can’t. The food was absolute mank and overpriced. Tea was a scam 9 pounds per person. The food was not filling and also very bland. Waitress was rude and gave me disgusting looks. Very disappointed, will not come back!!!!!

Food is not as expected or may be I expected too much 😬😬 燒賣 /乾炒牛河 =taste is not strong at all(sorry to say as no taste 😅) 春卷 = very small size and very so so to 奶皇包 = ok 鮮竹卷 / 排骨 = recommend !!!!! 蛋撻（egg tart) = so dry and not warm at all 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ In general, dim sum is only in ok level. Service is ok but some staffs seems very unhappy 🤣🤦🏻‍♀️

Close enough to HK dim sum. Service was what you’d expect for this type of restaurant ie not great in absolute terms but par for a dim sum place. Food was better than expected but not quite at typical HK level. Satisfied a craving. Will revisit.

Niet echt bijzonder. Dim sum was lekker. Satay taai en smakeloos. Hoofdgerecht ook niet denderend. Bediening had vooral grote haast je zo snel mogelijk de deur uit te krijgen dus voor- en hoofdgerechten werden in willekeurige volgorde op tafel gekwakt. Prijs is redelijk.

Wanted to eat 1 choung fun for a quick lunch meal because I was in a rush. The restaurant was empty and they told me I cannot eat only 1 dish and they asked me to leave the place. I would never go back again.

This is a Cantonese Style restaurant located in the Chinatown of London. It is located on the first floor of the building. The dishes are mainly prepared in Cantonese style. The Lobster Noodles and Roast Pork are recommended. Their other dishes are good. Service is good. Waiting time for food is also reasonable. Cleanliness is acceptable. Prices are reasonable. Cash and cards are accepted. The restaurant is located on the first floor and without lift service, handicapped patrons on wheelchairs cannot patronize this restaurant. 19-07-2023 : The crowd has returned to normal level. The Baked Lobster Fried Crispy Noodles is fantastic. Prices are still very reasonable and competitive. Food quality and portions are maintained.

Everything is fine except service on 2nd floor there is a unpleasant guy, make their team and his colleagues .... Overall food and service are excellent.

If you're prepared to venture up the stairs, be ready for a wonderful time! Service and food we're excellent - duck and prawns were gorgeous, tables were very spacious, however I felt a little bit more could be done for the decor and atmosphere - the spotlights caused irregular lighting, and the walls were a bit empty, some music would have been nice. I would definitely eat here again though!!

Great food. Portion seems small but because price is "cheaper" than other places - 2 person 7dishes 42GBP in total will be enough to make you fully satisfied. Some of the steam dishes feel like lack of flavour or salt, but soy sauce can help where needed. Must try: "prawn & bean curd roll cheung fun"

Firstly, I was very disappointed. We were (a group of 6) and have ordered Fried Chicken Noodles and Spring Rolls as a starter After a short time we got extremely oildripping Spring Rolls. 5 Minutes later we recieved the main Dishes, all 6 Dishes were cold,Noodles are uncooked and moreover two of six plates were dirty with sauce(shown on the photo).The chicken was cold as well and some bigger strips were partly rare. Afterwards we wanted to pay and they told us that paying is only possible by cash because the cardreader doesn't work. In my oppinion, this seems like a way of avoiding taxes . Lastly, 12,5% service coasts are way too much for the unfriendly service which wasn't even able to say goodbye to us.

Went in a group of 3 for Saturday morning Dim Sum - we put our order in and were completely forgotten about. 20, 30 then 40 entire minutes went by and then we of course started complaining and it turned out our order didn't go through their system properly. Some of the staff were apologetic but it completely ruined the morning, especially given that we were the first in the upstairs are then everyone around us was seated and their food arrived before we go anything. Terrible service

Food was OK, but got one meal wrong which spoiled the evening. Staff were pleasant but tv playing in the corner was distracting.

This truly is the jewel of China Town! Amazing staff, and with the food I just want to repeat over and over again. Ever since I found this place I have brought my friends and family. A+++

Love this restaurant. We always return and never steer off course to any of the other restaurants in China Town.

Worst experience in China town. Stinky chilly oil. Turnip cakes are flour bricks. Stir-fried glutinous rice are just gutter oil poured on steamed rice. Service is absurdly terrible. They just crossed off the item on your dim sum list without a word. We had to specifically ask about it to know that it was not available.

Ordered some dim sum, special fried rice and beef ho fun. The fried rice and beef ho fun are mediocre, no “wok hei”. The rest so so. Standard seemed have dropped since the last time.

Perfect service. Above standards for Cantonese foods. Understood that they might not have queues because it is a upstairs restaurant. However all of the waiters/waitress are so nice that arranged my grandma to use the lift. Wonderful place to let you go out of noise and enjoy your Chinese foods. We ordered 6 dishes with 1 fried rice. I believe the taste of foods are superb and aromatic. Absolutely above standard.

Great options, we got the vegetarian set menu for 2 people at £18 each, so much food for the price! Vegetarian Crispy Duck Rolls were amazing, all dishes so flavourful and staff so lovely. Busy but managed to squeeze us in and we enjoyed ourselves immensely.

Wort restaurant in Chinatown. No flavour noodles and they force you to pay the service charge even if you disliked the food. I do NOT recommend to go there. Go to the Japan center and eat there way better food and great prices.

I have searched far and wide for a quality (service and food) Chinese in Chinatown. Finally, after many years, I’ve found my spot. From our first few steps up to the restaurant, I felt at home. We were greeted by staff who showed us quickly to an available table. We were then greeted by Peter (GM & Owner). Outstanding service from him all the way through the meal. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. I can’t wait to come back and see Peter.

We went a group of 4 people. Food was nice, I will say that the chicken taste excellent and the belly pork braised as well. I think portions and price was a bit disproportionate, as the portions were small and also the rice was not fried as stated in the menu. Also, most of the waitresses were wearing face mask when talking to you and put them down when not speaking, but we could see how a young man preparing tables was constantly sneezing with the mask off on the tables, cleaning her face with her hands and not washing them before touching cutlery, table cloths…. It really makes sick and just want it to leave the place. Food came so quick after we ordered.
