I have dined here before and once again this time the food did not disappoint. The satays... yum. The dim sum... yum. The crispy duck... yum. The service was fast and friendly. This is still my go to place in Chinatown.

Went here with another couple for dinner before a show, very busy which is always a good sign. Food was good , tasty dishes and service was fast. The servers were not pushy and we were allowed to chat and finish our wine with no rush. Had very rushed meals before in china town as they want the table but not here.Would not hesitate to go back again

In the bustle of London's Chinatown it can be sometimes difficult for visitors to find a really good restaurant. We were very happy with the quality of our dinner at the New Loon Fung. Peking Duck, hot and sour soup, crispy shredded chili beef, singapore noodles and a deep fried banana in syrup. What more could one ask for? Good service, clean, good experience.

We don’t typically have great Chinese food where I’m from so I really wanted to get something good while in London. This place takes the cake. We got the set dinner for two: mixed appetizer, crispy duck, black bean sauce chicken, etc. It blew us out of the water. Excellent food and despite being slammed, we had excellent service.

Got FORCED to pay service charge in UK. Good try. HAHAHA. Service was beyond horrible was an understatement. Left without paying it and got told by their manager and staff to NEVER VISIT AGAIN 🤣 very bold of him to assume that we will be coming back. Not sure how many innocent tourists and students have been forced to pay it already. GUYS We are in UK. SAY NO TO SERVICE CHARGE!!

Stopped for food here in Chinatown after a show. There was so much choice but this was one of the higher rated places It's a touristbtrapbareq so prices are high. You could pay much higher than this. We had the hors deurves sharer for two plus the capitol ribs, some pork dumplings, crispy shredded beef and some rice. The rice is the same price as the tsongtao beer £4.50 so be prepped for it. I had two beers and we tried some Chinese tea. It was a needed meal and was fairly pleasant, not the best Chinese you'll ever have but it was quite good. The staff are not rude but they are very robotic because of the high demand and super fast pace of the area They don't have much time to hang around. All good was cooked well enough and consumed without a sense of dread. Large amount of seating inside up the stairs. Would stop again with more people in the party. Bill came to about £67. They add a 12.5% service charge on automatically.

Food was overpriced and portions are small. We waited over 20 mins to get waiter over to us. No one came over until we flagged someone down. When she came over she was rude and condescending the entire time. We had questions about certain items like the Singapore noodles where they don’t list out the ingredients. She was very short with us and we remained calm. No one came to check on us after dropping off the food. Closer to the end of meal they came to drop the bill off. We decided to remove the discretionary tip as we didn’t feel like service was up to par. The manager threw the debit machine at us stating that they use the tips to pay their employees. My sister works as a waitress in England and told them this is not true. They took back the Chinese fortune cookies which they said is only for tipping customers. (We weren’t even mad about this lol) he the preceded to say go get take out! Don’t sit here next time. He was rude and yelled loud at us in front of all the other customers. Slamming down things on the table! I was really flabbergasted because I have never had this type of treatment in any restaurant. Don’t go here please it’s really bad the way they feel entitled to tips when they give horrible customer service.

We had a great experience at New Loon Fung Restaurant in Chinatown, London. The staff were very friendly and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The restaurant spans three floors and even has an accessible lift for those who need it, making it convenient for all guests. Our meal started with the delicious chicken and sweet corn soup, followed by an array of dumplings that were both delicate and flavorful. The chicken buna was a standout dish, along with a variety of noodles, egg fried rice, and several curry options. Each dish was bursting with authentic flavors and cooked to perfection. The staff encouraged us to use chopsticks to immerse ourselves in the Chinese tradition. However, understanding that we were not accustomed to using them, they kindly provided knives, forks, and spoons without any fuss. The portions were generous, and the prices were reasonable, offering excellent value for money. The overall dining experience was enhanced by the attentive service and the vibrant atmosphere of the restaurant. New Loon Fung Restaurant is a must-visit for anyone looking to enjoy tasty Chinese cuisine in London. The combination of delicious food, friendly staff, and a welcoming environment made our visit memorable.

A friend brought us to this great spot in the heart of Chinatown — Gerrard Street. It doesn’t get more central than this. Conveniently located next to the renowned Loon Fung Asian grocery store, the restaurant spans several floors. We were seated at the top, enjoying the excellent service that was attentive yet unrushed. My friend, a dim sum connoisseur, selected ten dishes and the tea, all of which were fresh and timed perfectly. The staff were prompt with clearing plates and refilling tea. The food and condiments were faultless. This place is highly recommended and definitely worth a visit.

I am no expert on Chinese food. However, I do know good service, and that is what we experienced here. Our family group was on our way to the theatre and, once informed of this, our waiter made sure that our dishes arrived promptly and that any additional orders (such as for drinks, given that it was a hot, humid day) were quickly taken and fulfilled. The air con was superb, allowing us a relaxed, cooling experience before we headed off, in plenty of time, to the theatre.

A deceptively spacious restaurant over 3 floors, unusually has a purple carpet. Not the most up to date decor but clean and tidy and after all I went for the food not the interior design. If you are looking for Traditional Hong Kong dishes this is the place to be. On this occasion we went as a three, but my daughter loves there Beef Udon Noodles and visits at least in e a week. As a northerner I think the prices are reasonable - I have certainly paid more for similar in Manchester. We had a very good Hot and Sour soup with bags of depth and flavour, Cantonese fillet beef (on the menu as mandarin sauce as the language not the fruit), chilli prawns, Singapore Vermicelli and of course the Beef Udon. 4 Bottle beers. Total £120 with tip. Friendly and attentive service, quick service too if you have a train to catch! A great place to drop in after a Show and the street has a great atmosphere. Give it a go.

We've tried New Loon Fung restaurant several occasions over the past year for both their popular dim sum options and dinner and we can't say our group, friends and family members were impressed and can recommend them confidently. Whilst it's spacious, airy and with multiple stories once inside, the decor is much dated and not the most inviting. Service is also quick, attentive and direct but staff tend to be a bit distant and not the most patient. However, our issue is that main portion sizes are smaller than what we're used to expecting even for Chinatown - even the beef ho fun and most meat dishes look like they're just about enough for a small serving for one. We have given this place a few generous chances and want to appreciate the new owners' hard work in terms of management, food and operations which they have mentioned online but will no longer be coming back or can recommend them.

Have come several times for dim sum which you can never get wrong in the heart of Chinatown but unfortunately their dinner set menus are not even close to the quality of lunch (where we've previously enjoyed roast duck, fried noodles, soup noodles etc). We ordered a 4 person set menu which was shared across 6 people. The positives was that the portion sizes were generous and they also provided extra pancakes for the crispy duck but unfortunately other than this, food was under seasoned and incredibly dry. Sadly, I'd highly recommend only for lunch but may need to give it a miss for dinner next time

The food and service were ok. The place was clean and cozy. Our problem came with the bill, they had added the service charge and expected us to pay it. What they are legally supposed to do is tell the customer they apply it. There should be two total on the one with the SC and one without so the customer has the choice. When I mentioned this to the waiter he got very rude and sarcastic, said if I didn't want pay the SC then I shouldn't have come in the restaurant and I'd be better in Macdonald's!!! Or eat in the street!! I have never been spoken to like by restaurant staff before....

Dimsum came promptly, recommend the egg tarts, cheung fun, ravioli in chilli oil and ham sui kok (savoury fried mochi dumpling). Was here for the roast pork puff pastry, sad that they ran out when we were there in the early afternoon, which they did not inform until we asked if they missed our orders. Price wise it is on a good side with platters going below £5 per plate. Wouldn't say it's the best but it is a good place to satiate your dimsum craving and have a feel of the Hong Kong dim sum experience.

The aromatic crispy duck with pancakes is really great, loved that. But as far as the food goes, that's also where it stops. The fried rice is quite dry, and the chow mein was dry (the noodle itself was not springy if you get what I mean) yet oily (coating that it was stir fried in). That wasn't the worst actually, the kailan (gai lan) drenched in oil was... it had the ginger and garlic flavour for sure, but it couldn't have been any oilier and lots of pieces were still hard/undercooked. The place itself looks ok but never have I seen other tables being broken down while people are still eating. I must say we were treated nicely by the waiters though... For that price however.... it's not worth it...

This is one of the oldest Cantonese restaurants run by old Hongkongers in London Chinatown. Food is authentic & true to good old fashioned Hong Kong traditions. We are always able to order some of the more unusual & home-styled dishes here. Service is courteous & prompt. Also unlike a lot of other places, dim sums are made in-house rather than bought frozen in bulk. The only snag is possibly deco which I must say can be a little more elegant or up-scale.

Her tone was very rude and aggressive and even stormed off 1/2 down ChinaTown when all my friend asked was if they had “Diet Coke” (Unbelievable?!) Then when it came to the service charge, I told the lady to take off the service charge as I believe the service was not up to high standards at all. She tried to say it wasn’t allowed😑 anyways she took it off in the end after trying to argue with me and my friends. Came here last minute for a friends birthday on recommendation from a friend. I usually go to the more busy dumplings legend or four seasons. The decor definitely hasn't changed since the 80's which I find quite fun and charming. Service was excellent, they gave us our own small room for table of 10. Food is on point and everything came super quickly. My roast duck could have been a warmed up a bit more. But aside from that the flavour was good. Beef noodles with greens was excellent too and so were all the other bits I tried from my friends orders. The waiting staff were brilliant and really encouraged our children with the chopsticks and telling them what the food was and helping them along the way! Went here for a treat when I caught up with a friend in London. We had the set menu that was.£17.50 each (the menu outside said £17). There was a long queue when we arrived, but that went down pretty quickly so wouldn't let that put you off. The food itself was tasty, however I would say that the portions were a little tight but that is expected being on a set menu. It was a great way to taste the food and the food was really nice and wasn't greasy at all. Unfortunately we were placed by the air con unit so our food went cold really quickly but despite that, it did taste good so would recommend for sure. It was packed and seemed to be popular with toursists and non tourists, so defintely shows it's a good place to be. Price wise this was one of the more competitive places too. Service was okay good. Fairly prompt. We had to ask for tap water several times because they never gave it, but eventually did. I would recommend for sure, and the set menu was a good way of trying the variety of food.

Very average Chinese restaurant. Tired decor. Food was nothing exceptional compared to their counterparts in Chinatown. If you like cornflour (alot), this is your place! Portions on some dishes were small compared to the price. One particular suggestion I would like to make to the front of house team, it would be nice not to casually touch peoples personal belongings, including coats on dining chairs when passing diners in stride. It's based on the main street in Chinatown, but as it's upstairs (over two floors) it has lots of space so it doesn't get as busy/packed as some of the other restaurants 👍 The food is good, however I'd avoid the Spare Ribs, they were poor quality (no real meat on them, very grizzly and cost £10👎) Service is friendly and efficient 👍 Price is pretty reasonable given it's location 👍

After reading great reviews, I came here with friends and family. We ordered a lot of food and it was good except for the dim sum platter. It was 4:30 so they don’t serve from the dim sum menu as it’s only offered at lunchtime. They do have a dim sum platter on the normal menu but it didn’t taste as good as other local restaurants. Everything else we ordered was good though (not the best in china town but good). The reason for my low star review is due to service. After about 45minutes we felt like they wanted us to leave as they kept hoovering over asking if we had finished many many times but we were all still eating. I got the impression they wanted a quick turnover of tables as it was a busy Saturday. Most restaurants allow a 2 hour seating (we were a party 7). We all felt like they just wanted our money and to clear our table for the next lot. To top it all off, when our 3 kids on the table wanted dessert, they said they don’t have any desserts today. We were upset as they should have told us that before we ordered. We could have eaten at any other restaurant in china town. Then we asked another waiter and he gave us a dessert menu and advised they had all the desserts. This made us very frustrated as the previous waitress should not have lied to us saying they had no desserts. She then saw that we found out and had to admit the truth of them not wanting to serve desserts as they were too busy in the kitchen. I think this is terrible customer service and I will never return here. I went to the “orient” restaurant in china town a couple of weeks before and the food and service and decor was 100 times better than this place, so my advise is to go there or anywhere else.

Crispy duck was excellent. Other food ok, satay chicken wasn't good. Nice service. Will go back.

Terrible waitrer man. The attitude is extremely bad. Please train well before you go to work. There is no basic quality in the service industry.

Always a bit sceptical of getting a Chinese in Chinatown ironically. We’d seen some decent reviews and decided to give it a try. A good sign that that restaurant was busy and we were ushered into a back room and shoehorned onto a table that was probably a bit too small for 6 of us. Service was decidedly slow and fairly brusque but when the dim sum arrived it was really good. We ordered some mains which were also fairly tasty and we left pretty happy with our feed just a little disappointed at the service and the speed.

Took my food away when I wasn't even finished. They didn't even ask and took it away. What a shame.

We had a private event at the karaoke room, buffet menu. The food was amazing! It was so tasty! One of the best Asian food I had so far! We had loads of fun with the karaoke and the staff was always attentive and helpful. Thank you so much for the great evening!!!

We had a private event involving karaoke last night with around 20 people. The service was amazing, all of the staff were welcoming, the place was great. Must say, the best Chinese buffet I had ever had in my life . Will definitely go again!!!

Be sure to get here no later than 11:45am on a Saturday. It got pretty crazy with a queue around noon! Restaurant is large and service is fast. The turnip cake and Har gow was amazing! Perfect! Siu Mai was okay. The little beef pastries are also perfection.

We ordered a few items, such as crab with egg yolk £28 unfortunately the crab lacked flavour and wasn't worth the £28 personally I would have rather just sent it back. The duck was small for £14 however it tasted great, it wasn't too crispy and chewy and the sauce tasted beautiful. The tripe also lacked a lot of flavour, I suggest ordering a sauce to compliment it. We also enjoyed the scallop and prawn dumplings, as well as x2 steamed rice and bean curd in oyster sauce. Our original bill came up to £70 though there was a £9 service charge.

I shared dinner here with 5 work colleagues, and we each ordered things for our personal tastes but ended up sharing with each other. Two ordered the Vegetarian shared meal for two and boy, was it a lot of food for the $. The stir-fried tofu was the most delicious of the many plates they were served. One person ordered chicken spring rolls and fried rice, and she devoured the fried rice. Two co ordered crispy duck, a rice pancake dish, and a sweet & sour dish that were each uniquely flavored and healthy portions. I ordered the crispy fried lamb with ginger and scallions. The serving presentation reminded me of fajitas in a Mexican restaurant. The server brought a flaming hot cast iron plate supported by a pine wood tray.(it was so hot you could detect the odor of the wood sap) There was also a bowl of the entree which was poured onto the cast iron plate to further cook the entree. It sizzled, it smoked, and the air at the table was fragrant with ginger and garlic. 😋 I devoured my portions of food, and it stayed nice and warm on the skillet plate. There was plenty of ginger, scallions, lamb, and a few pieces of bokchoy, and together they were a taste I won't forget for a long time. Definitely some of the best authentic Chinese food I have tasted in many years. I will definitely return to New Loon Fung. I also want to compliment all of the servers and staff working here; they work as a well-oiled machine and keep the food coming, tables cleared, and customers happy and well fed.

The food was really good! Service was attentive, quick and efficient. The place was 'buzzy' and I suspect, there were quite a few regulars. Speaks volumes!

Went there a couple of times for dim sum lunch with a big family group. The food was good and the service was friendly which is not a given in Chinatown so it is highly appreciated. They also allow you to book in advance which is a great plus when you are going out with a big family group with old granny and baby cousins. Dim sum choices were plenty and you can get a lot of traditional dim sum dishes which is really good. The price is noticeably cheaper than a lot of places so great value for money. A very enjoyable experience overall. Would definitely go back.

Not quite sure how this place has such a high rating. Regretted having lunch here - had hot & sour soup and duck & crispy pork rice. The duck and pork rice was shameful and I essentially just used lot of chilli oil to add flavour. There were also some uncooked rice, which added to the poor experience.

Had five dim sums and two teas for two people around £30 for both. Got charged for the tea which was surprising as normally Chinese people get tea for free. Food was a bit bland but they provide chilli oil and sauce. Place was clean and toilets were clean.

Buon cibo.

Lovely Thai restaurant conveniently located near Baker Street. Small but friendly and tasty. Reasonably priced food and drink. Would return and definitely recommend.

As it says in the title, this is the place to bear when it comes to authentic and deliciously made bubble tea. The service is always fast and I don’t think I can emphasise just how wonderful the drinks are. You get a lot of drink for what you buy plus there is just something special about the presentation of the drink and the way it is made that stays in your mind long after you finish the bubble tea. I particularly recommend the fruit teas, with some drinks it comes with fresh fruit in the drink that you can eat after! Always refreshing and sweet

Gracias.
