This restaurant is mainly decorated in traditional Chinese style. You can feel the strong oriental charm when you enter the door, making you feel like you are in a Hong Kong restaurant. The overall environment is clean and tidy, the tables and chairs are well placed, the light is soft, and the atmosphere is quite good. It is suitable for enjoying Chinese dim sum with family or friends. We chose to go during the lunch market on weekdays and found that even if it was not a weekend, the store was still quite busy, which shows its popularity. The service is also very good. The waiters are friendly and quick, and can respond to customers' needs immediately, making the overall dining experience more enjoyable. This time we ordered many dim sum dishes such as drum pepper pork ribs, black pepper tripe, siomai, fresh bamboo rolls, milk king buns, etc. Each dish maintained the standard of a Hong Kong restaurant. The pork ribs with drum pepper are salty and fragrant, with a slight peppery kick. The pork ribs are tender and chewy in the mouth; the black pepper tripe is full of aroma, and the spiciness of black pepper penetrates into the tripe, giving each bite a strong flavor; Siomai is a standard Hong Kong style recipe. The pork is fresh and sweet, the shrimps are chewy and steamed just right; the fresh bamboo rolls are delicate in texture, with the meat filling and mushrooms wrapped in tofu skin, and the taste is rich; the milk king buns are the highlight of this trip, with soft outer skin and rich and smooth quicksand custard filling, sweet but not greasy. Overall, the dim sum served in this restaurant is of high quality, and the taste is indeed comparable to that of restaurants in Hong Kong. The food is fresh and served hot, fully demonstrating the traditional flavor of Chinese dim sum. Although the price is slightly higher, it is still within the acceptable range considering the restaurant's environment, food standard and service quality. If you miss authentic Hong Kong-style dim sum, or want to find a Chinese restaurant with a nice atmosphere for dinner, this is definitely a recommended choice!

Food was alright overall; Good crispy duck, pork buns were great! Soup and dumplings were bland. Atmosphere is… interesting, to say the least, with moderately slow service. This is a good stop for a bite to eat, but I personally would not seek it out again.

Ordered: mushroom with greens, Ho fun Malaysian noodles, and crab soup. the food arrived quite fast but the noodles were quite bland. The waiters were overall rude and didn’t seem to care about providing a good service. At the end the waiters didn’t not come to ask us how the food was or if we wanted to order more and instead slapped the bill into our table. We had received a call and we took it quietly and even though there were a lot of free tables they came back multiple times shoving the card machine in my face not even asking if I was ready to pay or not. A very disappointing place through and through.

We went to this restaurant because the reviews were mostly positive. The service was good, until the nice waiter offered us shrimp chips to wait. Naively we said yes, but be careful it's not free (like in all Asian restaurants to date), they won't tell you that it's not free (it's £4). The food arrived literally 2 minutes after we ordered. It was OK but nothing more, and the dishes were lukewarm or even cold. For 2 we had 4 siu mai, white rice, a beef dish, fried pork noodles and a fried vegetable dish. The dishes were small but enough for 2, but the prices were excessive. We paid £56 for all of this, or €66. Honestly, I advise you to go elsewhere if you want to eat good Asian food and not just basic dishes.

Was craving (what I call) Cantonese style crispy chow mein. Searched lots of reviews and menus and found New Loon Fung does them. So we ordered two, the Beef and vegetables crispy noodles and the Seafood crispy noodles. SOoo good 😋 Apparently they are just called crispy noodles, not chow mein. Also had the dim sum selection which was nice. The pork dumplings were just ok. Great service. Very very friendly staff and quick service. I'll be back. My belly is happy.

Terrible service, unbelievably rude waiters. Wanted to order the “stir-fried scallops with seasonal greens” and asked the waiter what greens they had in at the moment: “It’s as it says, seasonal greens.” “Ok, what are the greens this season?” “I just told you, it’s seasonal greens. It’s whatever vegetables the chef has in that day.” “No problem, do you know what greens the chef has in today?” “No, it’s seasonal.” Regrettably went with it anyways and was served scallops that were far from stir-fried and almost definitely boiled, covered in some strange slimy sauce on a bed of overcooked pak choi — all for £17.80. When ordering, the waiter also got incredibly irate when I asked him the difference between crispy aromatic and peking duck, as these terms are often used interchangeably and their menus don’t have any descriptions. He said the former was shredded and the latter sliced, and when I asked him if there was any difference in how it was cooked, he proceeded to lean over the table and shout in my face the fact that one was deep-fried and the other roasted. It’s almost like they don’t want you to order their food.

Service was rude. First, I asked for water and they said bottled or tap? I said tap and that triggered an aggressive upsell that ended in me getting tea instead. Then when we received our food we had an extra plate. I immediately let the server know we didn't order it. He insisted I did because of a circle the waitress drew around another item that I ordered which confused them. I gave up trying to convince him and I tried to reason with another server because if the waitress circled every item then why was there only 1 circle for those 2 items? She also accused me of making the mark and instead of escalating things further I gave up and paid for the extra item. This could easily have been avoided by having a separate pen color for the servers and customers. Also, repeating the order to the customer before placing it is common practice. I highly recommend trying one of the many other options in the area because the dim sum was average and NOT WORTH THE FRUSTRATION.

We had the hors deurves sharer for two plus the capitol ribs, some pork dumplings, crispy shredded beef and some rice. The rice is the same price as the tsongtao beer £4.50 so be prepped for it. I had two beers and we tried some Chinese tea. It was a needed meal and was fairly pleasant, not the best Chinese you'll ever have but it was quite good. The staff are not rude but they are very robotic because of the high demand and super fast pace of the area They don't have much time to hang around. All good was cooked well enough and consumed without a sense of dread. Large amount of seating inside up the stairs. Would stop again with more people in the party. Bill came to about £67. They add a 12.5% service charge on automatically.

Waited and hour and half for steamed dumplings to come. Very abrupt rude staff. There were people who came after us and they got their food in 30 minutes. Never again

Expensive and bad. The worst Chinese restaurant I've ever been to.

Worst Chinese food I've ever had, they don't know how to speak English and it's also very expensive, we ordered a few dishes and it cost almost €40 per person, a scam

Food was overpriced and portions are small. We waited over 20 mins to get waiter over to us. No one came over until we flagged someone down. When she came over she was rude and condescending the entire time. We had questions about certain items like the Singapore noodles where they don’t list out the ingredients. She was very short with us and we remained calm. No one came to check on us after dropping off the food. Closer to the end of meal they came to drop the bill off. We decided to remove the discretionary tip as we didn’t feel like service was up to par. The manager threw the debit machine at us stating that they use the tips to pay their employees. My sister works as a waitress in England and told them this is not true. They took back the Chinese fortune cookies which they said is only for tipping customers. (We weren’t even mad about this lol) he the preceded to say go get take out! Don’t sit here next time. He was rude and yelled loud at us in front of all the other customers. Slamming down things on the table! I was really flabbergasted because I have never had this type of treatment in any restaurant. Don’t go here please it’s really bad the way they feel entitled to tips when they give horrible customer service.

We had a great experience at New Loon Fung Restaurant in Chinatown, London. The staff were very friendly and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The restaurant spans three floors and even has an accessible lift for those who need it, making it convenient for all guests. Our meal started with the delicious chicken and sweet corn soup, followed by an array of dumplings that were both delicate and flavorful. The chicken buna was a standout dish, along with a variety of noodles, egg fried rice, and several curry options. Each dish was bursting with authentic flavors and cooked to perfection. The staff encouraged us to use chopsticks to immerse ourselves in the Chinese tradition. However, understanding that we were not accustomed to using them, they kindly provided knives, forks, and spoons without any fuss. The portions were generous, and the prices were reasonable, offering excellent value for money. The overall dining experience was enhanced by the attentive service and the vibrant atmosphere of the restaurant. New Loon Fung Restaurant is a must-visit for anyone looking to enjoy tasty Chinese cuisine in London. The combination of delicious food, friendly staff, and a welcoming environment made our visit memorable.

The food and service horrible! The noodles and meat were dry, luke-warm and didn’t have any taste. The duck was anything but duck meat. After telling the waiter that we didn’t enjoy the food, he didn’t even apologize or look at us!!!

Really good experience today, I read some mixed reviews so wasn’t sure we would choose to eat at New Loon Fung but so glad we did. Customer service was great, attentive, without being overbearing at all. Friendly and jokey too. The food was what I would expect of this level of restaurant, full of flavour and totally Cantonese interpreted for a British palate :) Thank you New Loon Fung

Sad, overpriced and cannot be improved. Plates looking like £0.75 each, you'll be paying £45. When you are looking for a meal in London and you are hoping you won't end up in an overpriced slum,- so that's the one.

I strongly advise to avoid this place...the staff are incompetent. No card payment facility. The ATM didn’t dispense correct cash. The drinks are awful and the food is terrible at best ! Carlton Lounge is much better for Shesha and food and is in a much better setting, this place is more of a make-shift smokers den at the back of your garden...

I think this place might have closed now. I tried 4/5 to order over the phone then I went down in person but the place was closed. Feel sad that they've closed. Used to enjoy their food
