Took mum and eldest. We had the lunch menu as we weren't given the a la carte menu (I didn't ask for it either), being a lunch menu the options were very limited, i.e the meat option for both the starter and main was pork - nothing wrong with that, we just would have preferred more variety. So we had the pork options (for starter and main), the beef (starter) and fish sinigang (main). The meat dishes were really nice with fresh uplifting notes, the sinigang was very different to what I'm used to and I'm not sure I was sold on it. Unfortunately mum (fellow pinay) struggles to eat meat so had ordered the sinigang, she wasnt keen on it either. All of the accompanying sides were delicious, my eldest who doesn't do veg, enjoyed the kale, and the java rice was sublime. I really wanted both desserts that were on the menu, but was already bursting so I settled for one instead LOL - it was well worth walking around with jeans button undone.

I had booked Sarap as a family treat for my husband's birthday. It turned out to be an expensive and disappointing experience. The waitress was not particularly friendly and we had to fish for information: asking how the menu worked, if there was a vegetarian option (she seemed not to know what to answer and had to ask the chef, it seemed to be a problem). The food was ok but inconsistent: two dishes were not seasoned enough (pig trotters and rice) and the rice came so cold the butter on top did not melt. The pudding was simply tasteless and stodgy with an unpleasant pastry case. A bill over £400 for 5 people, that a hefty price for an average meal and not a pleasant dining experience. The place also looked unkept (dirty windows, no towels in the toilets) and there was no buzz. We were looking forward to this restaurant at the great review in the Guardian but it certainly did not keep its promise.

Gold star review for this lovely pop up Filipino restaurant from the warm welcome, staffs extensive knowledge of the menu and food and drink quality. We were lucky enough to get a seat when we walked into Sarap on Saturday evening and we’re seated at the bar whilst waiting for a table to come available. The friendly waitress walked us through the menu and kindly answered all our questions. We ordered and quickly received our entrées with our drinks. I requested a mocktail which was absolutely superb and satisfying flavours were not lacking without the booze! We really enjoyed our mains too and the gentleman who we settled the bill with showed just as much passion about the restaurant as our waitress. Beautifully curated dishes with a warm service within a relaxed and modern, yet cosy atmosphere - highly recommend!

Wasn’t sure when a friend booked here, but what a find! The food was simply amazing, dishes I’ve not tasted before but I’ll definitely be back to taste again. We took the lead from our waiter who was charming and very knowledgeable providing a service that was exceptional. The cocktails were delicious and rounded off a 5* restaurant experience.

This establishment is tucked away off Regent Street in a very cute and vibrant street. The decor and layout make you want to stay for another glass or two. Loved the bar area. Dead cool. But the real star of the show is the food. My great friend and I piled into the starters like there was no tomorrow. The pumpkin thing was delicious. My friend raved about the aubergine dish. We even had the pig’s trotters. All innovative and scrumptious. Our waiter, Saul, was knowledgeable, enthusiastic and charming. He made sure that we were very well looked after. This is a great place to head for after work or a busy day’s shopping. It was packed at 6.45pm on a Saturday. If that’s not telling about the quality of this place then I don’t know what is.

Came across Sarap by chance and what a gem. I've never tried Filipino food before but it was excellent. Really well crafted and presented dishes. Small menu, but better to do few things really well. We sat at the bar by the open kitchen, watching the chefs, lead by Ferdinand 'Budgie' Montoya who took time to talk us through what he and the team were doing - an impromptu chef's table! All of the dishes were outstanding and I think the restaurant is there as a short term pop-up, so get there if you can. I'm definitely planning a trip or two back there for the stuffed trotter, beef and slow cooked kale in coconut milk, ginger and chilli. All of the staff were excellent, really welcoming and helpful.

Unfortunately, this restaurant is closed. We tried to visit this restaurant during our holidays in London (September 10th) and the local seemed to be closed from several months before.

We really loved our visit to Lahpet on a sunny Sunday lunchtime, seated outside on the terrace. It felt a bit like being on holiday. Service from our young waitress was really sweet and attentive. The crispy fried bream dish is a taste sensation and is really popular judging by the number of plates going past. The aubergine with crispy onion and peanuts is also a winner. We will definitely return as we discovered we really enjoy the flavour profile of Burmese food.
