MBER in City of London, Westminster

Went last week. The main restaurant was really busy so we sat in the bar area. The portion sizes are quite small so you do need to order 2/3 plates each. Value for money wise look elsewhere. We ordered 4 plates as we thought if we wanted more we could just order more. It took 40 minutes for all our food to arrive and each dish came out one at a time. The rice came out last and by this time we had finished all our other dishes!! You would think the rice would come out first as you would have lots of it made. Anyway, it found was ok but the service was shocking. If I could give it zero stars I would. Not recommended at all. If the owner wants to offer me a free revisit I will take it to rereview.

Nice lighting and seating but that's where it ends. Food was appalling, the soft shell crab bao bun was extremely fishy and was not made from fresh crab. The massaman curry was very bland as was the rice and the steak was lukewarm and not appealing. The chips were nice. Staff were also very unattentive and at times rude.

Mber is great! The food was delicious and the atmosphere was amazing, top class restaurant highly recommended!!!

I was so angry, I waited a week before writing this review. I experienced the most appalling customer service ever when I visited. When Onion Bhajis, selected from the vegetarian menu, were served, they contained chicken! Lots of it! Instead of apologising and taking the dish away, the waiter, then the manager insisted that it was impossible, even though they were right there in front of them! I couldn’t believe it! Chicken and onions are unmistakably different and to be told, as a vegetarian, that I hadn’t been served chicken was shocking. Then to cap it all, without a word of apology, they took my plate and chopsticks away and didn’t replace them or my starter. Had I not been with friends I hadn’t seen in ages, I would have left there and then. I will be sure to tell everyone of my experience at MBER and their disgraceful customer service..

Really good vegetarian options, lovely flavours!

We went for dinner and we loved it. The food was very delicious, we ordered four dishes (chicken, wagyu burger, duck bao, broccoli) and dessert to share between two people. All delicious. Even so, what we liked most was the service. The entire team and especially the waiter who served us, whose name is Sergi, made us feel at home. He advised us which dishes were the most typical or which ones stood out, we listened to him and without a doubt we did not fail. Besides, today was my partner's birthday and the same restaurant, without us telling him anything, had the detail of making him blow out the candles with the dessert. Details that make the difference. The place is very nice and modern, with all the details. Good music and everything clean. We will return!! Thank you.

Some dishes are quite nice but I’d say it’s definitely over priced. The ribeye steak was overcooked and the accompanying sauce was not very nice. It was okay overall but some dishes were bigmisses and for this price that is not good value for money

Fantastic food and delicious food!

Nice place with history embedded within itself. The food is delicious. We were told that portion sizes are small and it’s advisable to order 3 portion sizes. For me 3 portions were more than enough and 2 would’ve been ideal with some wine on the side.

La comida es increíblemente insatisfactoria y muy cara. £ 20 por 6 atunes en rodajas súper finas que no son del vientre. La hamburguesa de aguacate wagyu es risible. Acaban de abrir un aguacate no maduro y poner un poco de carne picada en el medio. También es del tamaño de un deslizador pequeño. Estaba deseando una fusión creativa asiática, pero esta es quizás mi comida decepcionante en los últimos 5 años. Solo el ambiente del restaurante era agradable. Evita este lugar a toda costa.

One of the employees or the boss are insulting towards Muslims. I do not recommend

The food is incredibly unsatisfactory and overpriced. £20 for 6 super thinly sliced tuna that's not from the belly. The avocado wagyu burger is laughable. They just cut open a non ripe avocado and put some minced beef in the middle. It's also the size of a small slider. I was looking forward to some creative Asian fusion but this is perhaps my disappointing meal in the last 5 years. Only the ambience of the restaurant was nice. Avoid this place at all cost.

The service is amazing, the food was descent with good atmosphere. The price is very expensive, too much expensive for the quality I think.

Mi marido y yo vinimos aquí para nuestro aniversario en mayo - tuvimos vieiras, tigre llorón, pollo satay y algunos otros platos. Cada plato era increíble y muy sabroso. Había estado aquí antes con algunos colegas para almorzar, así que este no era mi primer viaje aquí, pero esta cena fue una de las mejores que había tenido en Londres. El servicio fue genial también, muy atento pero aún así respetuoso. Lo recomendaría a otros!

My favourite food. This is my go to restaurant & everyone I’ve taken here loves it too. I don’t usually like steak but I absolutely love the Charolais Ribeye steak. So much so that I went out of my way to research the ingredients and Korean steak marinades to try to make it at home myself. The seared scallops and broccoli are delicious too. I really enjoy almost all of their food. The Wagyu Beef & Foie Gras Burger was a bit meh… I expected better and I found it to be quite dry. The apricot & stem ginger compote part of the vegan mess was not for me but the coconut mochi was yummy. Our waiter recommended the watermelon cocktail and it was really nice. Service is always 10/10. Our waiter was attentive, polite and extremely attractive. Probably one of the most attractive men I’ve ever seen. Mber do need to do some work on their bathroom though. There’s limescale around the taps and soap dispenser; & looks like it needs a bit of an updo, or at least a deep clean. I’m not sure if the mirror was just tinted or dirty. Considering the cost of the food, and the rest of the restaurant, the bathroom is quite disappointing. It did make me wonder if ambience is the only reason they have dim lighting.

Un hallazgo fantástico, a un tiro de piedra de las estaciones de Monumento / Banco. Comida asiática con un toque. El sashimi de atún, carne de res, pollo, pato eran todos excelentes. Solo una ligera decepción fue el calamar - un poco demasiado gomoso. Gran selección de cócteles / vino por copa y un servicio increíble. Bien hecho.

Disappointing... Nice atmosphere and friendly waiters but the portions were very small for the price and we weren't impressed with anything that we ordered; it was all fine but not great. It was all small plates but at main course prices

Food is a beautiful experience, and we both enjoyed it. Cocktails are right there on the high spectrum next to the food.

The food was wonderful and our wait staff was on it. Unfortunately however, a member of the staff took issue with a member of our party who must eat kosher prepared foods, for which he is always prepared with his own food. MBER would not allow him to eat it. And they were rude about it. It ruined the entire experience. Service and kindness mean a tremendous amount to me, and they blew it.

What a fantastic gem tucked away near Bank/Monument stations, we had a business lunch here and thoroughly enjoyed the ambience and food. The Fillet salad was to die for...... also black cod, Japanese rice and scallops were delicious. We had four small plates between two, I'd recommend 5 or 6 next time but time got the better of us, Definitely recommend, and in the words if Arnie..........I'll be back!

Staff are some of the best in the hospitality business in my experience. Noted special requests on my reservation and helped ensure a great night. Cocktails really great - recommend the lynchee rose cocktail. Food is really good as well, definitely recommend getting 4-5 plates for 2 people. Desserts are very good portion size you could get away sharing one between two people

Our waiter was excellent and gave us some great and honest recommendations. Some really good dishes but the highlight for me was the yuzu sticky toffee pudding 🤤🤤

We had a team night out and everything was so good that I forgot to take pictures of the food. It is an interesting concept- kind of Asian tapas, you get served a succession of pan Asian food. Everything was very tasty and portions are good enough to fill that you ate enough. Coctails are also large in variety and tasty! Would recommend!

Pan Asian restaurant serving a wide array of Asian dishes. My standout dish was the Tonkatsu Japanese curry (if you can get passed a few chewy pieces where the panko breading did not adhere to the pork). The service was fast and great

One of the best hidden gems in London!! The Weeping Tiger is a must!! Not only was the food brilliant, but the service was equally as excellent.

Average Thai food, service was slow. It is very expensive for the quality and portion sizes and I'm not sure if I'd return.

Intimate, high end Pan-Asian restaurant, perfect for a date night or small groups. Flash and dark interior with great staff. Unique menu that is reasonably priced but certainly on the upper end. Cocktails were great as well. 👌

Food was excellent and service was spot on. Went with a client and it was a great night. The place is a little small and cozy but that's what gives it a great atmosphere. Definitely do it again.

Nice ambiance but food was average at best and service awfully slow. Waitress spent most of the evening chatting with the bartender and seemed irritated when asked for something, like being interrupted in the middle of a movie. Once ordered, food arrived quick which is great reflection of kitchen service. However some dishes were bland and not worth their price tag.

Here you can enjoy delicious food, good service and a nice atmosphere. We had something to celebrate and that went very well at MBER. We had a wonderful evening. Also there was a lot of attention for someone with multiple allergies. That was very reassuring. Nieves and colleagues: thank you.

Visited MBER for a team dinner. We enjoyed most of the food, and it wasn’t too expensive compared to other places in the area. Our seating felt private, and the music wasn’t too loud to have conversations across the table. Very exciting cocktails. Loved the Aubergine dish and the Sticky toffee pudding the most.

It's expensive. You can come here to try and impress someone. The staff are polite but not at the level of service the prices command... Your spending your money because you can, not what it's worth....

Love this place for a fun lunch or evening dinner and drink. Alternative and delicious food, perfect for spice lovers. Menu isn't what it was a few years ago and quality slightly lower, also miss the goat curry which was the fave on the menus. Still a great venue and quirky hideaway.

This place is absolutely spot on! The food is incredible and the service perfect. We have been before and returned last night for a special cerebration with close family. We were seated in the wonderfully cosy private dining area and the waitress who looked after us was so helpful. She also had a great sense of fun and this helped make our evening even more special. There is so much to commend here, I cannot recommend it more highly. Thank you team MBER.

Ideally located in the lane where the great fire London started. he food and drink is fantastic. Really high quality. The service was fantastic as was the atmosphere. Really great evening. Do be aware that it is not a cheap option but it is of a very high quality so, if you can afford it, then it's certainly worthwhile

Impeccable- book through First Table and it’s incredible value for money

Myself and my wife dined at MBER on a recent visit to London for our Wedding Anniversary. The restaurant is located in a basement and the décor is very stylish, sleek and modern. It was a Friday night sitting and I was surprised at how quite the place was, this did take from the overall atmosphere. We tried 6 dishes and whilst it was all very nice it certainty wasn't something to write home about.

Had lunch in the private dining room which was very swish. Service was polite and efficient but we waited an age for the fish and the vegetarian Mussaman curry despite twice telling the wait staff we were still waiting those two dishes. The others appeared quickly with the duck, edamame and vegetable samosas being wonderful. The chicken satay was so so. Great idea to have an Asian tapas restaurant but they should work in making the fishes more consistent and delivering them all quickly for busy lunchtime business people.

Reservamos desde España buscando un sitio especial donde comer en Londres. Fui con una amiga y nos encantó. El trato del personal fue muy cercano y muy amable, desde la chica que nos atendió a la llegada, hasta el resto de personal. Alejandra nuestra camarera, es un sol, en todo momento se preocupó por que todo fuera correcto y sus recomendaciones fueron totalmente acertadas. Agradezco a todo el personal el cuidado que pusieron a la hora de preparar los platos teniendo en cuenta mis alergias. Os lo recomiendo 100%. No es barato, pero vale mucho la pena, fue nuestra mejor experiencia gastronómica en Londres. 😁

Estaba de paso en Londres con una amiga y decidimos comer allí, y he de decir que fue una de las experiencias más agradables del viaje. Comida buenísima, ambiente agradable y el servicio sobresaliente, sobretodo nuestra camarera Alejandra, atenta y simpática, además que nos gustaron mucho sus recomendaciones. Desde luego volvería al lugar sí regreso a Londres.

Excellent experience but I was not completely satisfied with the smell of the food and it seemed like there was storage

It was very nice Asian restaurant. Service was very good. Enjoyable seating, reasonable price for City of London and that quality of food. Our favourite was samosa, aubergine and avocado burger. Chicken was good but the duck bun was too dry. Finishing with chocolate mouse was stunning..

Should have left when noticed we were the only people in the room. The food is bland we've tried 6 different dishes. Avocado wagyu burger is served in a fresh avocado that does not add anything to the flavour palette but makes it impossible to eat. The staff shouted across the room as if we weren't there. And there were mistakes in our bill.

Love the place. Bar, private rooms, and seating area look amazing. Everything in black(dark colours) looks astonishing. Superb cocktails served by professional and friendly staff. Definitely will be back. Highly recommended! Cheers, guys!

Staff do not have the basic communication skill, patronising and not helpful. Not worth going

This restaurant is located in a basement. Many of the chairs are stools, which older people simply can't do (me included). It felt cramped, and some of the seating otherwise awkward. We were finally seated in a small, dark private area (which actually was fine). The food, all good quality, is somewhat overpriced, but there are bottles of reasonably priced wine.

The pickled lotus root was meh… the soft shell crb tempura though was amazing and so was the peanut brittle dessert. We also ordered the pork bao and the steak and sliders. The pork bao I wouldn’t mind more of, but the steak was not worth it at all…

Lovely restaurant with a wonderful ambience. Service fantastic and food exceptional. Great for a romantic meal. Also the private dining areas are great for dinner with family and friends. Will definitely return.

Oh, how we wanted to enjoy this meal. The reviews had our expectations high. The experience wa sa let down based on those expectations. First, nothing we ordered eas exceptional. We tried about ten different dishes at our table, including satay chicken, broccoli, edamame, pork baos, sliders, and several others. The standouts were the edamame and the baos. They were pretty good, but simply nowhere near great. The rest, including the tuna sashimi, were frankly just okay. Nothing was bad, but when you pay decent London prices for small portions, I expect more. Additionally, the restroom was a poor experience. While it seems nicely decorated, navigating the doors is a mess, and then good luck washing your hands with the tiny trickle of water they allow. All in all, just a not great experience. I want to rate it less, but am trying to be fair and not just angry that I wastedba meal here.

We had great service and lovely food. Sushi platter £34 but to be fair came with 5/6 decent size slices of salmon, tuna, and yellow fin tuna, i.e. 18 pieces in total, plus yuzu and shoyu dips. Weeping tiger beef was as tender as can be with a nice spicy kick. Bottle of wine for less than £30! Best part though was our waitress, wonderfully professional and accommodating Italian lady from Tuscany. Going back again for sure!

Amazing food, great service and hospitality.

The food is amazing and the staff are super friendly. I have some food restrictions and the chef was very accommodating. Not too busy on the weekend. Will definitely come back to try the rest of the menu!

Restauranten var koselig og fin. Personalet var meget hyggelige og imøtekommende. God service. Maten smakte ikke så veldig mye desverre, og det var veldig lite mat. Jeg vet at det er tapasporsjoner, men her var det veldig lite mat. Bestilte 6 retter som 2 stk delte, men ingen av oss ble mette.

First time visiting the food and staff were amazing but the following two visits we booked were cancelled due to technical difficulties in the kitchen. The last visit we were not made aware they were closed, we turned up to find out the restaurant was shut. I was not impressed but as the food is so good I’m willing to still go back, I just hope if there are any future issues that we are made aware ahead of time.

Great food, lovely venue! Beware of low ceiling if tall. But overall great experience and will return!

Wish I had not listened to them saying 3 dishes each. Could have saved a lot by just ordering duck bao and aubergine dishes. The beef was so stringy I had to swallow whole or choke. The scallops were bland. Bao and aubergine were delicious. Mocktails cost £14.

Great food and great ambience. Service was a bit slow and they were not even fully booked. But will go back as good and drinks were delicious.

Food was unappetising, particularly the cod which was very slimy! For the price point I would definitely not eat here again. Disappointing, as the reviews looked great.

Really nice setting and overall vibe. Food was nice but most of our dishes were cold and despite ordering different cocktails, they were all far too sour (I love sour things so that is saying something). Everything was brought out at once so by the time we ate one dish it was all cold. Considering how much we spent, I wouldn’t return. Despite it all, I still had a lovely evening and the service made up for it.

We absolutely love Mber! We have been 4 times now in the past 1.5 years, we don’t come to London a lot but we make sure to come to Mber every time. The food is absolutely amazing! The swordfish tacos are to die for. We always order one portion and order another portion straight away, forgetting how amazing they are! The service is impeccable- friendly, quick & professional; all of the staff are so polite. It’s one of the only restaurants in London where I feel that I can truly relax & feel at home for a bit, all while having 5* food and service. Today, I ordered the wrong glass of wine. I knew I wasn’t going to like it but I ordered it anyway. I didn’t finish it and ordered another glass; a man, whom I’m assuming was manager/owner, came over and asked what was wrong. I explained that I’d messed up and ordered wrong, I told him not to worry. He said he’d take it off the bill. That was a very nice touch but after the glass of wine I liked, I decided I’d probably finish that one anyway! I spoke to the man and asked him to put the wine back on the bill, explained it was my fault and I would pay, he refused to put it back on the bill. This is the type of service that makes you want to come back. A restaurant where, it may be a bit pricy, but they are not greedy! They appreciate and respect their customers and the quality of food and service completely justifies the prices. All of the staff do a fabulous job and I would recommend this restaurant to everyone! You are not paying for a dish. You pay for unbelievable experience.

We sat in a small alcove on high stools where we were served by the restaurants manager (staff shortages!) . Service from all staff was friendly and professional. The food is wonderful! We enjoyed the crab bao - very well cooked and had the lotus...

Food was ok, nothing special apart from the brocoli, in all honesty it is far too expensive to be worth it in comparison to other places in London, service however was good but the food none the less let's it down quite alot

Amazing place, brilliant food, kind and fast service, good atmosphere. We waited only for 10-15 minutes, and our order was ready and delicious. The music wasn't too loud and fit perfectly to the place and created its atmosphere. I really recommend visiting 👌

This is a lovely venue in the square mile. Wonderful, experienced, friendly service and excellent food and cocktails. Highly recommend this restaurant for couples or groups. Really enjoyed my time at Mber.

Excellente adresse, élitiste, très raffinée avec un service de très bonne tenue. De très belles serveuses d'origine sud américaines au sourire généreux. Le prix est à la hauteur des qualités précédemment mentionnées.

Phenomenal service and food. They kept filling out water as soon as they see it empty. Food was stupendous. Service for top-rated. Will return again.
