Very cute place! Great staff that were friendly & attentive. Food was delicious we tried a number of items! The serving sizes are on the smaller side but perfect as this allows you to order a few things to share along side the baos.

Had a nice little solo lunch and the staff were so sweet and accommodating. Highly recommend the solo set menu if you want a lovely light lunch alone! The hostess was so kind and helpful. I will definitely be back!

When evaluating a thing/site, I think the context in which it is located may have to be taken into consideration. For example, if the alley on Third Avenue in Midtown, New York is placed in China, Hong Kong and Taiwan, it may be a mediocre existence, but if it is placed in midtown, New York There will be a valuable existence beside the avenue. I think BAO in London SOHO is similar. Do you want to say that BAO’s food is not delicious enough? The background and context must also be taken into consideration. After all, it may be an unrealistic fantasy to expect that the taste of a hanging bag in London can be similar to that of a famous/old shop in Taipei, and that such a taste can survive and continue in London. ? BAO's hanging bag lacks some strong impact and is quite satisfactory, but it still retains a taste that some people miss in London, which is a value in itself. The "Chicken Rice" in the set meal I ordered this time is probably a flavor I have never encountered in Asia so far in my life. I think whether it tastes good or not depends on the "perspective", but in terms of the £20 set meal from BAO , in many British restaurants there may only be one course, but in BAO, in addition to steamed buns and chicken rice, there is actually a cold drink, a fried chicken, and a pot of Baozhong tea (what!?), so you can enjoy it all. The shop owner also serves tea, which is not available in Europe. I don’t think it is available in Taiwan at the moment. This should once again show the intention of the person in charge. The dining environment has a small literary style, which is good. The meal itself may be ⭐️⭐️⭐️, but the value of its existence is ⭐️

If it hadn’t been for the queue outside, we probably wouldn’t even have noticed the place. But we are so glad we did and we understand why people are queuing here! The fried chicken bao is Devine!! I could eat that every single day, accompanied by the eaqually delicious Korean fried chicken. It’s spicy from a European viewpoint but rather mild from an Asian viewpoint. In any case it’s delicious! Super crunchy, yet juicy inside - you can’t make fried chicken much better I think.

Wonderful food and customer service, only issue is such a small space with loud voices - worth it for the quality of the food. Hopefully this restaurant progresses into a giant venue!

Otherwordly bao - seriously so good! We visited for lunch and opted for the 15p fixed menu to try as much as possible and I would definitely recommend doing that :) I am still thinking of the hot sauce that came with the fried chicken bao, it was one of the best I ever had, beside Texas Pete!

Food was very delicious! The bad with ice cream was amazing, you definitely want to get that!! One thing that I recommend is to get more vegetarian bao option, maybe with fried tofu or something like that??

Delicious food, fantastic service

I've visited in the past and found the food to be good but expensive for the serving sizes. I recently discovered the BAO 15 menu which is served weekdays from 12-6pm so I went for an early dinner. It's excellent value and I highly recommend it. Here you can choose from a small menu with one bao, one xiao chi and one rice bowl for £15. I chose the confit pork bao, Taiwanese fried chicken and the guinea fowl rice bowl. I think they do it at all branches but the menus are all slightly different. There are vegan options for each choice if you need.

Nice taste and texture for all four baos. Favorite was daikon, had a nice crunch. Portions were smaller than expected. Also we weren't able to sit at a table even though three were free.

Classic bao and sweet potato fries. When I ate it, I just ate it, but after a few weeks, I suddenly wanted to eat it so much... 🥹 Since the portion size is not large, I recommend ordering a side as well. In fact, you can eat two baos as well. The interior is clean but narrow and there is a table right in front of the bathroom. And payment must be made by scanning the QR code! I truly loved these cute little baos fr and also the sweet potato fries. But I suggest that you remove the table standing right in the toilet doorway. Apart from that, thank u for the nice experience!

Good food service a bit abrupt but efficient

The food is good but really tiny and £7 for such a tiny bao is just not worth it in my opinion. You can see in the attached photo just how small it is lol. You don't get much value for money if that's what you're looking for. Otherwise the staff were nice and the food still had good flavour but not worth the price sadly.

Great food experience, the dough of the bao is so tasty and flaky, and the fillings are just outstanding (especially the pulled pork). Simple sides as kale salad and fried sweet potatoes were exceptional. Really flavorful food that’s a must try if you’re in London.

🇹🇷 A flavor I tried for the first time (Different flavors in Far Eastern cuisine) Bao (Bun) bread is a small delicacy, but please note that the portions are not large. 🧑‍🍳 I recommend Sweet Patato Chips, they are very successful (with beer 👍🏻) 🧑‍🍳 Chicken Bao was legendary, we liked it very much. 🧑‍🍳Shor rib bao is not bad, other flavors made it easier. We drank Taiwanese beer for the first time (Prince beer) and it was more successful than I expected. Payment is made digitally via QR code. In general, the food is good, the price is not bad. It has become a place where I come back again and again and eagerly await other flavors. The place is a bit small, there is only one data & no music broadcast etc inside. We were a family with only one child :) As a family of 3 people, we had a delicious meal with a bill of 54 pounds.

Can’t express enough how happy I was to be able to have AUTHENTIC Taiwanese food while traveling in London, even though the bao had been slightly adjusted to fit the western taste ( less fat from the pork) but it’s still delicious regardless ❤️ And the service was amazing too

Ridiculous portions (even for vais) and obligated to pay for service charges even though the service was mediocre at best, took one my plates before I even finished. The chicken one was great, the veggie one not so much. The plum sauce that comes with the ketchup was fantastic.

The service is very good, they are very attentive, the place is very small but it is worth it, the food is good, the entrees are very small and everything in general so I recommend ordering at least 4 things per person, the bubble drink is Delicious and the beer too, the taste of the food was good. I was looking forward to trying the ice cream but otherwise, super good

I spend the night yesterday at BAO Soho. The food is really good, very classic BAO's with rich flavour. The space is quite small and sometimes there were people queueing. The staff was really friendly but it felt like they wanted us to leave the table to have other guests come in. I understand they want more business but I did have the feeling it was a bit pushy. Nonetheless very friendly and kind.

The service was exceptional—staff were friendly, efficient, and made us feel very welcome. The food was fantastic, living up to the high expectations set by its reputation. Each dish was a flavorful adventure, particularly the signature baos, which were perfectly balanced in taste and texture. However, the dining space is quite confined, which can make it feel a bit cramped, especially during peak hours. Additionally, it was quite hot inside, which detracted somewhat from the overall comfort. Despite these minor inconveniences, the prices are very reasonable for the quality of food and service you receive. In summary, Bao offers excellent food and great service at good prices, but the limited space and heat inside are areas that could use some improvement.

The original and still the best. the £15 lunch deal is pretty good value (although it will be up to £20-£25 after drink, service & tip). Bao buns are soft and fluffy, the fried chicken is super crispy, and the guinea fowl nice is lovely and unctuous. Place is a but cramped, but you won't need to stay for long.

The food was good, but the service and the order in which the food came lacked common sense and felt chaotic. When we arrived, they explained the menu and how to order, but it was hectic and brief, and the loud and noisy environment made it difficult to hear. We had to ask for clarification several times. The food was good, but very expensive. When we had finished eating, the plain rice arrived. This seem odd. The waiter seemed very tired and forgot about my requests. Overall, I felt that I had paid a lot of money (plus a 12.5% service charge) for a hectic and stressful experience.

I have known from my host about this cool Taiwanese restaurant, such a blend of Chinese Food. So fulfilled to be able to taste this flavour in UK.

So I came here a while ago but I had to get this off my chest as had a few friends say the same thing. Not sure what the managers name was but she had a bit of an attitude (blonde one) - not a good people person and put me off my guinea fowl and confit pork. Other than that the customer service from Mike and Jacky made our night. Amazing reccs, knowledge and people skills. Make them the managers. Coming back for them. And the green monster

Great bao, delicious Guinea fowl rice and tasty oolong beer. Scallop was overcooked and a bit to fishy, but the rest was great.

Food and atmosphere were really great! Lu our server was brilliant, explaining the menu to us including specials and recommendations - they did not disappoint. Our favourites were the short rib bao, the guineafowl rice dish and the aged beef. Banoffee ice cream special in a bao to finish? yes please.

Everything was amazing but the customer services was pathetic. We had a small kid along with us who was not allowed his food which was bought from elsewhere. We have been to many places around the world- we are a bunch of vivid travelers but never have we ever faced such behavior towards a kid for outside food. Still finding it hard to believe.
