Santorini Express in Harrogate

Delicious and authentic chicken gyros. Plenty meat, light flatbread and tasty tzatziki. Friendly staff. Great spot for lunch.

Visited from Canada. Decided to order the Gyros platter.. One of the best things I've ever tasted. Fresh and plenty of food for the price.

Ordered a Gyros which we were told we couldn't eat in the Restaurant, although we could have a beer while we waited. 2 moretti and two chicken gyros was £30. We had to then walk two miles home to eat the gyros, despite that, they were absolutely delicious.

Felt almost like I was home in Greece.

Went last night for the first time the food was amazing cooked well presented well reasonably priced fabulous... will definitely visit again

Great mixed chicken and halloumi gyros! Huge portions and excellent value.

Went for a mid week drink with work colleagues, cocktails were great, service was very good. It wasn't busy at all, would certainly go again.

Loved this place, great for sports or music any age.

First time here as we were on holiday ,the pork gyros box was absolutely delicious ,and the dips were so tasty,great welcome ,if you haven't been go in ,100% recommend, and the prices were so reasonable, and they cater for vegans ,right opposite the winter Gardens weatherspoons, get over there today you won't regret it👍👍😀

Good food, fresh salad and a really authentic feel. Almost took me back to when I last went to Greece 5 years ago.

Disgusting food, ordered 2 giro boxes, one chicken and one pork.. the meat was not edible... reheated rubbish..shocking!

This was a while ago but I forgot to leave a review at the time. I ordered via Just Eat for us and some friends who were visiting. After waiting some time, I checked on Just Eat and it stated the order was marked as 'delivered' but we never received it. I called Santorini who said there was nothing they could do and I should contact Just Eat. I was unable to contact anyone so went back to the restaurant, they just said it was not their problem. OK it was Just Eat not delivering but surely they must log who picked it up (there can't be more than a few drivers) and could at least look into it. They were just rude and it was really embarrassing as we had friends visiting, and had to order elsewhere. I will never order from them again, or use Just Eat.

Introduced me to Greek food- Gyros are superb. Only a little place but reasonably priced as well.

Had a gyros today. Great service, great taste. Definitely visiting again.

Food and service was good but its behind takeaway orders, I guess the takeaway is their main outlet, so many dishes were not available, overall good.

Absolutely awful and disappointing food. Ordered a chicken gyros. The chicken was absolutely disgusting and mainly fat and skin. I ended up taking it all out and not eating it. Nowhere near as good as the main restaurant in Headingley. I won't ever visit again.

This tiny, tiny takeaway / restaurant Serves YUMMY Food. Shared two meals for two ( Hot mesez and mixed grill) and greek salad (not on picture) with my teaching colleagues on Sunday evening. We were all absolutely STUFFED. Could not finish it. Relaxed greek music, bottle of wine, coffee. Cost us about £65 for our table so about £16 each. Love the place. Been back again tonight, 7 of us. This time.

A definite must for me when I get up to Harrogate. Really good authentic food but be prepared to have to order it to take it away as this place is small and popular.

Well, it was not special. It was nice but I could have done this in my kitchen if I would not be lazy and tired. Unfortunately I had high expectations. Obviously over priced... as every restaurant lately so no surprise there. On the bright side, the delivery was super quick on a Saturday night, warm and well presented. I ordered Halloumi box and Falafel Box, but my favourite was the bread, it was nice and soft very appetizingly cut into triangles. Amazing with tzatziki. Over all I recommend it if You are a Hungry vegetarian like me. I could not eat all of it so the portion is very good as well.

Nice food, well presented. Menu is a little limited, but sufficient for me. Quite a small eating area and it can be crowded if most of the tables are taken. Fairly good value for money.

Ordered 2 Gyros for delivery and was very disappointed. There was no salad in it other than a couple of bits of tomato and that was it. Chicken was dry as and very little dressing as that was dried up too. Can't imagine we will come back at that price.

I hit them on an off quiet night..... It was early in the evening too..... I wouldn't rush back but it was pleasant enough..... The gyros need more fresh salad and less chips....

Chicken or Pork Gyros. Absolutely fantastic!

Really disappointed. Ordered 2 cheeseburgers which were genuinely inedible. So dry, burnt bun, cheese tasted of nothing. Didn't bother after first two bites. Chips bland which I guess is standard for a takeaway but for what we paid a bit of seasoning wouldn't go a miss. Pork and gyro box was nice pork but there was no chicken and again for what we paid small portion. I'm still hungry and I've wasted £30. Would not order again.

Great little Greek takeaway or eat in. Limited space inside so mostly takeaway. The Greeks eat here so that says it all. Good food at a good price.

Really Great food is served here, I went with a friend who's been before. They have a wide selection on the menu for pretty decent prices for being in the centre of Harrogate. I'd highly recommend bringing a friend, though it's on the small side so it might be busy.

Having made the decision to get a takeaway here as we drove past to our hotel, we checked out the Google reviews and pictures and all seemed well... ...online. In reality, the pictures definitely are not a true representation of what's on offer. Firstly, the venue is a takeaway NOT a restaurant. The pictures featuring a bright open environment with tables and chairs no longer exist, but a dimly lit serving counter and mini bar instead. Second, the food is nowhere near to the same level of quality to that pictured - you'll notice that the majority of the appetising photos are actually provided by Santorini Express themselves. Our meal consisted of dry, unseasoned, flavourless meat; and falafels that are comparable to sawdust balls. I have no idea if Santorini Express is under new management, but something has seriously gone wrong if not.

Decided to have lunch here one Saturday, terrible chicken gyro, chicken wasn't the best quality and had no taste, only positive was the Greek salad but it's pretty hard time mess that up. Avoid!

Partners burger was delicious. I've never had proper Greek food before, I ordered a chicken and halloumi gyro wrap, absolutely disgusting-chicken completely inedible, dried up and rock hard. Really put me off trying Greek food again.

Got a quick Greek style wrap and sausage. Tasted beautiful. Small place but very much in keeping with Tavernas that u find on the Greek Islands... minus the sunshine of course!!

Came upon this absolute gem out of the blue. My wife and myself were starving and popped in to eat. The Greek food was so authentic and very well cooked. I had a Kofta Gyro and my wife a Mixed Souvlaki Gyro, both were cooked to perfection. The staff went out of their way to be helpful and for a small Establishment, they provided a first class meal and service. I will definitely be calling here again...

More like a greek take away than a restaurant. On the plus side is the price and the chicken gyros. Tasty and tender, good sized portion. I also liked the tzatziki sauce. On the bad side the pork gyros is well below average. It is not tender at all will you cannot really tell that it is pork. If you prefer to sit in then the place is too small, thus prefer take away. But it was in general very clean. The service is the biggest problem that justifies my score. It took them quite a while to prepare the food while the man in the kitchen was not rude but kind of bored - he didn't bother replying to our questions. Just a nod for an answer. If you need to eat cheap greek take away of average taste in a very expensive city this is a place to consider for sure.

Called in after a night away in Harrogate, we had contemplated having our evening meal in one of the "well known" chains in Harrogate, but opted for a few well deserved beverages first. On our way back to the hotel we spotted Santorini Greek take away/ sit in. The smells were too good not to go in. So very pleased we did! Clean , well designed, cafe. We both opted for the lamb kofte wrap. Not disappointed, fresh tomato , onion, garlic, delicious spiced lamb and a nice soft wrap. Well deserved 5 stars, would even consider driving back , just for this Greek gem👍♥️

Kids persuaded us to take them to a well known American fast food franchise in Harrogate. It was jam-packed with nowhere to sit so we left. As we wandered around looking for somewhere for lunch we came across Santorini Express and decided to try it. It specelises in Greek versions of kebab called gyros which is slightly different from the Turkish version.It's quite a small place if you want to eat in but it is exceptionally clean and nicely decorated. The service was really friendly and efficient. The food was brilliant though limited menu so even the fussy kids enjoyed it. Also reasonably priced. Definitely recommend it as a lunchtime snack. Much better than Ronald's place

Have had 3 excellent meals here in the last couple of weeks. Tasty, fresh and served promptly ....also very good value for the locale. Highly recommended.

Great little place. You could almost miss it but its very much worth finding it. Authentic greek/Cypriot food in a taverna type atmosphere. It might be small but the flavours are bit. Highly recommend the gyros.

Love pita giro wraps on Greek holidays but the chicken and pork versions here in Harrogate were quite disappointing. quite an unusual taste to be honest and i wouldn't want them again. quite expensive as well compared to their Greek counterparts. More chips then anything else in the wrap

Just had a fantastic meal at this place. Beautiful freshly cooked food with friendly and professional service and great value for money. We felt like we were truly on holiday in this place and would recommend highly.

Had a hot mixed meze unfortunately it was really greasy. Toilets not the cleanest either. Pity because the menu is so promising. Staff were friendly.

I'm Greek so i was hoping to taste all those so called homemade Greek stuff but they were anything but. The food also arrived cold, the one that wrapped gyros didn't know how to either, potatoes were a mess, tsatsiki was not how Greeks make it, neither baklava or the meat. I was hoping for the higher standards i see in Greece but nope. Hopefully i'll find a proper Greek food place in this town eventually...

Do not recommend had a mixed souvlaki pita gyro which was full of undercooked chips, removed the chips to find hardly any decent meat, tasteless we basically paid £8.95 for a chip butty the chicken pita gyro was no better ended up in the bin.

Can't tell you how much I love this joint. Something for the whole family. Tasty af and that awful thing: Value For Money, which people in Harrogate may not always appreciate! And the service is just impeccable. Support local businesses... (or you'll be cooking at home for longer than you'd like)
