I've been going to this chippy for the last year and was the best on knaresborough, I visted for my lunch at work more than I'd like to admit. In the last few months it's gone from bad to worse, half cooked chips, over cooked scallops, stale bread cakes I could go on. On today's visit I saw cooked chips being put back into the fryer to re heat. The guy servings attitude when I asked if they were fresh was not the best when I told him the quality had dropped massively in recent months. The girls who usually work their are great and can't do enough. The new owners need to go back to their old procedures and practices. Please don't let this become another chippy that used to be great. I've wasted £100+ in the last few months hoping it was going to improve

Has this business changed hands since May? This used to be a great chippy. Visited yesterday, portions much smaller, fish batter soft and greasy and put 'scraps' on when not requested.

can't believe anyone would review this place badly, its amazingly good . We are from whitby but now living in Knaresborough and quite experienced with fish and chips. if you have never been to Chain Lane Fisheries I would advise you to go soon and skip the trip to the coast

We had fish chips and mushy peas. Having considered all the fish shops in Knaresborough we chose this one. It was probably the best fish and chips I’ve had in a very long time. The fish was fresh, the batter was crisp and tasty. The peas were perfect. Staff also friendly, also not over priced. £7.50 for fish and chips. Good size !

Been here several times and will continue to do so as the quality is great and the staff go out of their way to give you what you want. Ok it is just fish and chips but customer service counts and they have good customer service here in bucket loads

Beautiful Fish and Chips. We had one of each, the fish was large, meaty, batter was golden crisp, beautifully cooked to perfection, large portion. Also a Small fish and chips, again fish was wonderful, and batter too, In addition we had a large plain sausage and chips, the teenage expert rated the sausage best ever, and the chips fantastic, every thing was red hot when we served it up at home. Unlike another Fish and Chip Shop which used to be good, THIS Shop has clear glass in the fryers, You Can See What You are getting, don't settle for less. The price was reasonable for such well cooked and served food.

Called here for the first time and definitely will not be returning! The worst fish and chips I’ve had in a long time the fish was over done and the chips were like scraps and very tasteless!

Can highly recommend this fish and chip shop. Fish is always cooked to order so always nice and fresh. Plus you always get service with a smile 😊

Amazing fish chips and mushy peas There's even a wee table which we sat at to enjoy this with a steaming cup of tea. Highly recommended.

We use this chip shop fairly regularly, and always find the quality to be top notch. There are other chip shops in knaresborough but this one is by far the best.

I brought the son of a friend here who is from Somerset and he has not stopped talking about how good these fish and chips are. I've just brought his Mum and we've just finished our plateful - crispy batter, very succulent fish, tasty chips and even the mushy peas are above average. can't recommend it more highly. If you're not from Yorkshire, do go here if you want to know what fish and chips are all about!

Nos avisaron por el dueño de la ser y que estaban alojados en que este era un buen "fish and chips" y las críticas eran también buenos pero la comida que recibimos era incomible solo binned y nos mantuvo despiertos toda la noche y yo estaba enfermo por el fin de semana. Estaba lleno de grasa y la masa estaba como piedra. No sé si el motivo fue que llegamos justo antes de que cerrada y ya encender la calefacción al Freidoras . Pero la comida era asquerosa. Los propietarios y el personal era muy amable y hablador mientras que preparaban la comida es una lástima su comida no era tan agradable como lo era.

Nos abruman en Knaresborough con pescado y Chip de tiendas, pero hay dos que sobresalen. Éste y Aregon. Este es mi local y cuando el deliciosos aromas se encuentre ya que tienes cerca, es un deber. Me encanta el pescado y el abadejo, picaduras, pero el menú es variado y he sido decepcionado.

After an 18 month hiatus from visiting this establishment when I was working in the locality, I happened to visit last week and was not disappointed. Excellent food and good value for money. Will be definitely calling in again when I'm in the area.

The fish and chips here are amazing and great value for money the owners are really nice and it is one of my favourite fish and chip shops

Buenas bromas mientras en la cola, buen pescado y patatas fritas. Los peces tan fresco que estoy seguro que su cola wagged! Patatas fritas preparado como a mí me gusta. Hay mucho más para ofrecer en el menú. Clientes habituales o recién llegados siempre bienvenido! grub de primera a precios razonables. Regresaremos el próximo viernes!

Llamado por un pescado para mi suegro por su tan acogedor marido y mujer de personal de té, creo. Era una serie regular al cliente en y estaban charlando pero que me hicieron sentir bienvenido y no es incómodo, ya que no regulares. Pescado era perfecto y rápido mantener el alto nivel de calidad
