Popped in for a quick lunch on day trip to Poole, as cafe looked very neat and tidy and menu appealing. Turned out to be a good choice. We had a toasted panini and cheese and onion quiche with salad. Both excellent. Efficient and friendly service. Sorry we did not have time to call later for one of the cakes! Great asset to the town.

Popped in to have a large English breakfast and a cup of tea. Nice little place, clean and tidy. Sat in the window watching the World go by. A big pot of tea arrived very quickly. And a few minutes later so did the breakfast. Great service. Everything was perfectly cooked. Egg was perfect, bacon and sausage done just right, a waffle, beans, two slices of toast with butter. Friendly service, and relaxing atmosphere. Will go in again next time I'm in town.

Lovely to sit in the sunshine and relax looking at the shoppers and visitors, whilst enjoying a brie and bacon toastie and green tea from a real china teapot. Friendly staff, and just a good relaxed feel about our mid morning break.

Popped in late lunchtime today. Very warmly welcomed and served immediacy, I honestly ate the most delicious vegetable soup and my flat white coffee was in a generous mug and really hot. I’m going to recommend to all of my friends and this will be my go to when I’m in Poole.

This was our third visit to Sandwiches Etc, the last being some months ago. We were quickly served by a very nice lady and the order arrived quickly. My sausage and bacon baguette was superb, with a bakery-fresh baguette, thick bacon and very tasty sausage. It's clear they are still using top quality ingredients, the sort you would buy for yourself. No budget catering stuff here! Still very reasonably priced and this place is now my go-to establishment for refreshments in Poole. I must try the all-day breakfast next time!

Calling in on a very wet Monday afternoon, we were warmly welcomed and seated. The immediate choice which leapt off the menu was the fresh scones with cream & jam and they certainly did not disappoint. Scones were either fruit or plain and were served warm with a very generous portion of clotted cream & jam. So fresh they crumbled at the touch, light and SO tasty Thank you!

Found this place a few weeks ago - we were wandering through Poole and stopped for coffee and I tried a bacon roll, which was absolutely perfect. We were in Poole again yesterday so we sought it out again for lunch. Very popular so we had to sit inside. Service was very fast, despite them being busy and food was, once again, delicious and very good value. They clearly do not use any cheap commercial catering ingredients - everything is fresh and top quality, the sort of thing you'd buy for home consumption. Even the sauces are top brands. This will be my choice every time I'm in Poole from now on!

Whenever I come to Poole, this is the place for Breakfast. I got the bus over on a miserable Monday morning. I was greeted by the lady and sat down inside, it was fairly busy despite the overcast weather. Went for my usual full English with orange juice and it was as good, if not better than last time I visited. So much so I came back the following morning to have one with extra egg & toast. Can't recommend this place highly enough

Just lucky to have picked this cafe from the many others. Very quickly served and very friendly. I had decaf coffee served in a pot so I had 2 cups from it. I also had a lovely toasted teacake. Spotlessly clean, including the toilet.

Had a lovely great value for money cream tea before going on a boat trip and popped in again for a fab crab sandwich afterwards. Service and food both excellent and the lady remembered us when we returned several hours later and asked how our trip had been, which I thought was lovely of her as the place was packed all day with many people passing through.

Ive wanted to review this cafe as the owner does herself no favours and Im quite pleased to see Im not alone in this view. Most definitely should not be working in hospitality. Great location and loved its previous incarnation, Harts! Such a shame this place is not run by a friendly personality, makes all the difference!

We have been using Sandwiches Etc. for years and our regular visits to Poole wouldn't be complete without stopping there for lunch. Whilst not necessarily "cheery" the staff are polite and efficient and they make a great pot of tea. There is one toilet, through the cafe and at the top of the stairs, I can quite understand why they wouldn't encourage use by passersby, brushing past everyone eating (try Sainsburys). Haven't been there since the lockdown but hope to be there next week.

This is not a smart looking establishment but looks can be deceptive. There is table service. The menu is extensive and breakfast is served all day. On the first day I had a delicious vegetable soup and my wife had a cheese and onion sandwich both accompanied by hot chocolate. On the second day I had a prawn and avocado baguette which was freshly prepared with large succulent prawns and my wife had a quiche which was delicious.. Everything was modestly priced and all in all it was a good experience to be recommended. There is outdoor seating and the lavatory is upstairs

We were in Poole for the first time and stopped for a coffee but were tempted by the crab sandwiched advertised. They were made fresh to our requirements and were really lovely. The coffee was also delicious and the cost was very reasonable. One small picky point was the spelling on the menu (cappuccino/cappaccino and expresso/espresso), sorry customers notice these things.

From the horrible waitress / owner to the dull food. There is nothing good about this place. I am happy for the manager owner to contact me but if it is the same woman as the lady at the front of house then she might not like my criticism. As the title suggests - AVOID AT ALL costs

Stumbled upon this little cafe in Poole when I was looking for some lunch. They had a fantastic selection of freshly made rolls - I chose the Brie and cranberry which was delicious - The roll was incredibly soft. They were also advertising gf scones and cakes but on this occasion I was too full to try them.

Used the toilet. Very steep and looked like it was work in progress. All in all ok and mad cheap. Lady taking money and dealing with other tables looked fed up. Probably wouldn’t return.

We called in for a coffee and a sandwich mid-week lunchtime. Having never been here before we thought we would give it a try.The food is ok , but nothing more, the prices are not the cheapest and the service could do with some improvement. We ordered 2 coffees but were served with tea. The location is in the High Street so very convenient. This could be so much better.

Called in for breakfast. Full English was okay - all well cooked but sausage was poor quality (probably no more than 40% meat) and the tomatoes were tinned plum. For £5.50 I guess to be expected. The tea was fine though I'd agree with another reviewers comment about the stained teapot. My latte was also okay but not like Costa or Starbucks etc. The lady serving was friendly enough though had a general lack of enthusiasm about her. She clearly would have liked to be elsewhere! Customers like to see that you are enjoying what you do not because you have to....

Called in for breakfast recently served by a miserable surly scruffy woman, I requested no egg I was not offered an alternative the meal was delivered missing something else I ate it and thought it would be sorted out at the till when I went to pay I was charged the full amount I reminded her that I requested no egg also there was something else missing from the plate she was very unpleasant and stated that it was my decision and reluctantly knocked something off the bill, it will also be my decision never to eat there again.

Such a shame... On a beautiful sunny day I invited my sister for lunch in her hometown Poole. We ordered an elderflower drink which was fine, a horrible Banana milkshake, a baguette bacon, brie and walnuts and a baguette prawns and avocado. Very sad bake-off baguette, deepfreeze prawns with cocktail sauce and 3 days old lettuce. What a waste of money... Next visit to the UK I'll avoid this place...

The reviews on here don't reflect what I experienced around mid afternoon on a sunny weekday. We only had drinks but the lady was polite and efficient. The drinks were decent enough and not too expensive compared to some in Poole. If I was passing again I would pop in. My only gripe was they close quite early and a fair few customers were turned away! Business must be good to be able to do that!

Although there is a disabled parking space outside, the roads to it are all closed. Nothing to do with the pub though. The wife and I struggled to get there. I come from Poole, but have never been inside this historic harbour inn. As soon as you walk in, you can visualise the history, the smuggling plots being made by sailors of old, those walls could tell some tales. I was greeted by Kerry, who seemed very pleasant. I was really pleased to see dimpled handles in the pint and also the half. I mentioned that these are few and far between, and in her own words "this is a proper pub", and I cannot disagree. Two vessels of Best were poured and we sat by a window. Also present was "the founder member of the Glee Club" ( sarcasm on my part? absolutely ! ) aka the bearded landlord, I presume, who scowled around looking generally miserable, with no conversation to his customers or staff. We enjoyed our drinks and left, part of me satisfied with our visit, but underwhelmed by Mr. Chuckles.

This is only the second time I've been in here.. The last time was before lockdown, when we ordered coffee which was luke-warm. We complained and was met with a very curt reply, " we aren't allowed to make it too hot. Health and Safety!" We said we'd like it warming up but they refused. We came back today, as it appeared to be under a new name "Coffee Society" We had to pay an extra 60p per cup for oat milk, and again it was Luke warm. Had to order a pot of boiling water to warm it up ( which made it really weak. ) £8.45 for 2 drinks!!! Looking up, there were cobwebs everywhere, and it wasn't very clean. Never again.

I've been a regular customer to hortons over the years, but today's service was so bad I won't be using them again. I get a 45 minute lunch break.. 15 minutes of that was spent waiting to order because they had a family of 5 place an order before me and clearly couldn't cope with a group order. After finally ordering, 5 minutes goes by before I'm told they can't do my food so I said no problem I'll just have the milkshake then that I had ordered... another 15 minutes goes by and I still don't have my milkshake. At this point I have 10minutes left of my lunch break, so I proceeded to walk out and and quickly ordered some food from premier bites opposite. I never did get my milkshake from hortons or able to get a refund as no one was attending the till even after I had ordered and collected a hot panini from Premier bites... Hortons has gone down hill ever since the kids took over. On the other hand I can recommend premier bites opposite. Lots of love the RJ lift engineer.

The audacity of someone to ask us to swap tables and share a table with someone we don’t know and eat our food else where is beyond me… even if the booking system wasn’t working why would you approach and ask someone that!! Slow service when we initially arrived and 30 minuets to order just drinks let along food… previously been a decent place for food on a Sunday but not today..
