Maybe I'd have rated it higher if my expectations were lower but I'd heard about this being the best sandwich place in the U.K.. My sandwhich was definitely good but nothing special. Service was fast. Value was fine.

I really love the original shop. Can’t help but feel they have taken on a bit too much and the quality has suffered recently though. Maybe a lack of training or attention to detail. Sometimes they are really busy and staff feel like they are rushed. Maybe over staffing at times, understaffed at lunch? Last week was the 3rd time I was missing something in my sandwich. If I went in and ordered my own sandwich and watched them make it, I’d probably spot it. But when you go in with an office order you can’t keep track of every item going into that sandwich. It’s not until people start eating that they notice the missing ingredients. My order has always been fine when I’ve ordered, sadly my colleagues were always missing something. It’s been the same when people have ordered for me. I find I’m missing something. I missed cranberry sauce and gravy for the Xmas sandwich, pulled bacon for the Kiev. Others have missed so many fillings I don’t want to list them all. It almost feels like a mixologist forgetting to put mint,lime or rum in a mojito. I will give them another chance because I like supporting local, but for the price of the sandwich, it needs to be as described. Come on guys!!

I was so excited to go as the reviews had been amazing I was disappointed as I found the sandwich heavy and not that tasty Unfortunately it did not agree with me and I was sick. I must be spoilt by New York sandwiches like from Carnegie deli so should not have expected it to be as great as those Shame

This chain of sandwich shops has to be one of the best you will find anywhere. The sandwich fillings are interesting and there is something for everyone on their menu, both hot and cold These sandwiches are not for the feint hearted. They are huge. Stuffed full of your chosen fillings to the point that the sandwiches are hard to eat. Forget taking a bite of the whole thing, you have to tactically munch your way around the edges and work your way through the monster that way. It’s not cheap at around £8 a pop, but you get the equivalent of a double sandwich for your money. Great fresh ingredients, great service. Simply the best. You have got to try one of their sandwiches. Highly recommended

Very disappointed and dissatisfied overall with my experience here. It’s not cheap @sandwichsandwich but usually you get value for money! But not here!! Small salad pot - £3.95 Should change to tiny salad pot!? There’s room to put more in but staff didn’t fill!? Sausage sandwich £4.00 usually I struggle to eat one half… today I ate the whole lot and I’m still hungry!? This sandwich shop is renowned for my huge filled sandwiches… but not today! Not here!! I will stick to Baldwin St shop as they get it spot on every time. Food was good quality.

I love salad boxes. I pay a bit more to try a wider variety. Not here. At this shop you only get one topping. Which is strange considering similar shops just give your mixture of smaller samples. I thought maybe one topping is their thing only to be told I can get more than one toppings in sandwiches. That makes perfect sense!

Wow, a little stunned after reading such rave reviews of this place. My cousins philly cheese steak sandwich was tough, chewy & so dry it was inedible. My chicken parmigiana flatbread was total mush, mixed with so much “slaw” aka grated cabbage & carrot (no seasoning, no dressing, no taste) I couldn’t actually taste the chicken or cheese. My mums chicken, avocado & bacon sandwich was brimming full... with dried up, extremely fatty bacon. Again massively lacking in taste or seasoning despite the dill mayo. If you like big chunks of uncooked bacon fat this one is for you. All three of us left feeling disappointed & deflated after so looking forward to trying the “Sandwich Sandwich” experience. Whilst you can’t knock the quantity of the fillings, the quality certainly leaves a lot to be desired. 100% overrated

Steak in the Philly cheese steak sandwich was extremely tough and inedible. When paying £6.50 for a sandwich you’d expect it to be fresh however it came straight out of the microwave White bread of other sandwich we had was stale. Two stars instead of one because the staff member who served us was friendly.

This is one of the best places for a quick grab and go lunch in Bristol! Everything I've had from there is incredible!

I feel as though I need to make a comment on this as usually sandwich sandwich is always super yummy and they give you loads of filling ! Value for money and taste is great ! However my last visit made me feel quite sick!! The girl who was serving me had worn the same gloves to serve several customers and she kept touching her nose, hair and face as well as texting on her phone by the till . She did take her gloves off for handling money , but the fact she was rubbing her nose then touching all the ingredients for my sandwich put me off. She also had long hair and did not have it tied back or in a net. I feel as though some training on food hygiene needs to be addressed . Otherwise I love this place !

Alors je n'ai pas forcément adoré c'est assez spécial comme sandwich. Le pain est par ailleurs excellent. Ce qu'on y met à l'intérieur et bien... personnellement j'ai un peu de mal, peut être les épices ? je ne sais pas. j'avais pris un sandwich de noël. Il faudrait que j'essai un sandwich plus simple. En tout cas mes amis anglais adorent cet endroit, c'est qu'il ne doit pas être mauvais. C'est par contre très copieux... après le petit dej anglais je n'ai mangé que la moitié du sandwich. Accueil assez sympa et service rapide.

I went to sandwich sandwich and had a terrible experience with the staff and I did not enjoy the food. I went to complain and they completely ignored me.

I love Sandwich Sandwich! The food is always delicious, fresh and homemade and the portions are huge! I recommend the southern fried chicken and the peanut butter chocolate cake- enough for three sittings! I usually take my food away but there is an option to sit in overlooking the wills memorial building, nice if you want to spend time with friends or have a business lunch. The service is always friendly! Definitely the best eatery in the park street vicinity.

Went to the one on Cotham road. really yummy sandwiches with great vegetarian options (they've even got a vegetarian scotch egg, which was delicious!). The woman who was serving was so friendly, too! Really started off my day in a great way.

I go there regularly for lunch as I work nearby. The baked potatoes and sandwiches are both very nice. There is a good selection available, including vegetarian options if you want them. I would recommend the chilli beef baked potato in particular.

I have been coming to Sandwich Sandwich for a while off and on, as their sandwiches are pretty great, and by no means on the stingy side. Having recently given up meat though, I decided to try one of the salad boxes instead - normally I tend to avoid salad as the last time I had one in a restaurant I ended up hungrier than when I went in, but as with everything else they offer, this is not the case with Sandwich Sandwich. The salad options range from mini samosas and pakoras, to bits of omelette, rice, coleslaw, and anything else you could possibly want - not to mention countless things to sprinkle on top. Even the small box is enough to keep you going, but buy the large one and you might not need to eat again that day - although you should save room for cake, as they are not to be missed...

Este lugar ... mmmmm! Estuve con mi novia y ambos probado los chapatis con rellenos (cordero al curry picante y carne de chili), y ni nos decepcionó. Amplio tamaño, abundante y una explosión de sabor que me envió a un estado dozey de conciencia en mi casa en coche. Una gran relación calidad-precio, disponible para comer o para llevar y sus pasteles y postres añadir el traslado definitivo de la cera a un sello muy grande de aprobación.

Tengo sólo empezó a ir a este pequeño tesoro escondido preciosa! La comida aquí es absolutamente delicioso. tiendo a ir para una gran caja de ensalada, la cual se puede hacer por sí mismo, y te dan a elegir una carne/parte pescar justo o principal de las delicatessen. Siempre hay mucha variedad, y es que hay mucho para elegir. Estoy siempre me sorprendo cuando no hay una cola porque este lugar siempre está lleno de especialmente a la hora del almuerzo! Pero la cola se mueve rápido y no esperar demasiado. Sándwiches aspecto increíble y son hechos a la orden, sin duda lo recomendaría a cualquiera que esté en la zona buscando un sabroso almuerzo rápido - gran relación calidad-precio también!

This is a great place. It's not cheap but the scotch eggs are amazing and combined with a salad is a great treat of a meal.The cakes are huge. They are delicious but I'd like to see them offer half size portions for half the price, since that's all you'll eat and it would make them more affordable!Go here, it's great.

Been to the one in the centre of town but came here on a Sunday lunchtime for a sandwich and wasn't disappointed. Looking at the menu I was wondering if it was going to be a bit pricey but if I'd known how much filling was going in I would have thought it was a steal! I love seeing the piles of food which you can choose from and although the staff weren't the friendliest the food makes up for it.

Popped in for lunch. Had the sweet potato and falafel special. If I had known it would be that good I would have paid double! £4.50 for the meal was great value, I'll be back!

Popped in for a sandwich, came out with a taste sensation! Friendly girl helped me decided my way through their yummy selection of fillings, toppings, sauces, breads..., the salad bar looks amazing and their hot sandwich selection also sounds delicious. A lunchtime MUST.

This shop really has something for everyone. Have visited the one in Baldwin St before but this was the first time for Queens Rd.

The lads at Shotgun Barbers have started making the trip down to sandwich sandwich simply because it is that good. Went on a scotch egg recommendation, and just what's in front of you is the best display of sandwich fillings you could imagine, it's all there! Highly recommend the jerk chicken flat bread! Keep up the good work guys!!

I'm sure I'd posted a review on this place just after my visit a year or so back but it seems I hadn't....We popped in for lunch and were blown away by the choice of fillings. Can't remember what we had but the fillings were generous and tasty. As we took our orders upstairs to the seating area, we were offered free pieces of cake.It's not the cheapest sandwich bar, but well worth a look.

Went here on a whim as we were hungry and it was open, but we have certainly gone back! We tried their warm beef brisket sandwich and also their bbq chicken and pork rib. They were amazing sandwiches and their spread for other sandwiches look amazing too. The item we come back for is their homemade scotch eggs, they are unbelievable! I've never had such a good lunch! My partner asks for his warm and firmly believes they are the best in Bristol and he's tried a fair few.

Today seemed to be an anomaly for Sandwich Sandwich. Usually receive very good service and a very good sandwich, even when it is ridiculously busy. However, today (a Sunday (17.05.2015), despite the fact it was really not busy at all, I was met with awful service. Firstly, both, the two women working today seemed to just not care about the customers at all; they both had unenthused faces, not giving a single smile, they seemed bored and uncaring, and were being extremely lackluster. To make things worse, they were working at the speed of snails and making an un-busy day seem busy. Despite the fact that there were only 4 or 5 customers in front of me, it took them approximately 12 minutes to get through them. Usually there are literally 15 people in front of me and I haven't had to wait any longer than 5 minutes. When I finally ordered, I asked for the hot roast loin of pork, gammon, stuffing, apple sauce and crackling. It then took a further 5 minutes to even get my sandwich...When I finally got to the point of opening it, I was unimpressed to say the least. It was completely over-saturated with mayonnaise; it had been put together with, what looked like, no care at all; and there was no crackling in it. I ended up wiping out a lot of the mayo and, still, there was too much. I will be returning, as usually I have a very nice sandwich, and am met with a happy face, and with someone who wants to converse with each customer, making everyone feel very welcome and happy with their experience, as well as their food. However, if I go in and see it is these 2 working, I will most likely walk out before even considering what I want to order.

A very busy place opposite Bristol University and ques at lunch time but the food is lovely and you get lots of it.. Beef and stilton with a red onion jam for £4.95 followed by an iced coffee with icecream for £2.50 its all good value. There is also a serve yourself salad cart with lots of yummy stuff.. The staff are good too, four on when I went in..

We ordered a lunchtime buffet from here at very short notice: it was delicious and delivered on time, with gorgeous tortilla, Asian snacks, crisps and delicious cakes. Not super cheap but actually so good that I didn't mind at all - in fact, work were paying! Based on this experience and the fact the sandwich shop is always busy, I'm giving them 5 stars.

This is a really lovely sandwich shop which does much more than great tasting sandwiches. There is seating upstairs too. Coronation chicken and rare beef got our votes. Chunky Rocky Road is gorgeous too.

I walk past Sandwich Sandwich everyday on my way to work and their selections of sandwiches, hot jackets and treats are always very tempting. Twice I've had the pleasure of having the sweet potato jacket with halloumi, houmous, sweet chilli, roasted vegetables and falafel - both times, the container was filled to the top and I was only just able to close it. The portions are generous - all of that food for £3.95 and it kept me full all day. I was also given a complimentary brownie because I had to wait a little - I have to say, it was one of the best brownies I've ever had - chocolatey with chunks of chocolate and gooey in the right places.Love this place - everyone in my office enjoys the sandwiches, salads and hot food that Sandwich Sandwich has to offer. The flavours are fabulous, the quality is very good, locally sourced ingredients and all very reasonable in price.

Lunch times used to be all about the sandwich. Nowadays, in Bristol, there's so much more to choose from (falafel, pies, Italian, bagels, burritos etc) that the old 'meat and two bread' favourite has a lot of 12-2pm competition. Don't get me wrong, we've got some exceptional bread fillers in our beautiful city, but gone are the days when a sandwich was a 5 day occurrence for all. There aren't many Sandwich shops that make me want to go back in time, in fact, that's a sentence I never thought I'd write - but Sandwich Sandwich is so good that I almost wish that there weren't other options and I had to eat from there every day! I've been to both of their shops, the one on Baldwin Street shop and I went to their Queens Road (top of Park Street) shop yesterday - and I get confused every time, because I want it all; the soft boiled scotch eggs on the counter, the pies, cakes and all of the hot and cold sandwiches. It all looks SO good! And it is. I've tried most of it! I had the jerk chicken in a brioche bun. Firstly, the brioche was HUGE! The chicken was really tasty with just enough kick and the chipotle mayo set my mouth tingling. Add in a few jalapenos and some crunchy lettuce and it was one hell of a lunch. If you haven't already, then get yourself to one of the Sandwich Sandwich shops one lunch time. I'd be gobsmacked if you didn't love it!
