Lovely food, home made and delicious. Also, reasonably priced. Service was excellent too, friendly and obliging. We will certainly return.

A welcoming cafe with breakfast, lunch and brunch. Varied menu with excellent home made cakes. Linked to the church with a bookshop.

Very much enjoyed our lunch here and being able to sit outside was an added extra. All the food is prepared fresh and brought to your table. It is somewhat slow service although I think the staff are volunteers who were all friendly, polite and couldn't do enough for us.

Good menu and fair prices. Good location. Let down by allowing customers to bring their dogs inside. Whining and shaking their filth over the floor.

Good to see the extended opening now. Menu is good and food is well presented. Staff are very accomodating to your needs. This is a child friendly place and also makes ALL ages welcome. Young families find it a bonus. The cakes are wonderfull as are the salads.

I called in the other day for a bite to eat and a drink and I certainly wasn’t disappointed. The staff we’re friendly and chatty and couldn’t do enough for you. I only wanted a light lunch so I had the broccoli, cauliflower and Stilton soup and it was delicious. One of the best homemade soups I have eaten in a long time. Please pay them a visit there just by Lymm library and you won’t be disappointed

Have been a few times and always enjoyed the atmosphere. Staff are always friendly. Good for children as there are a couple of things to do to entertain them.

We called in and they were busy but not such that they couldn't give personal service and look after our needs with young children. We would recommend this place for those who are looking for a clean venue where wholesome food is served with a smile - and of course a reasonable price to match.

Great little (big) place to have a snack/drink away from the hustle and bustle of the village centre (next to the library). If you want to eat trendy food and/or people-watch, go elsewhere. Soups, sandwiches and drinks on offer, all at reasonable prices.

Great for a morning coffee/tea with a snack or lite bite lunch. Although it overlooks the canal and sounds tranquil, beware on some mornings when the prom brigade arrive, there are small children everywhere, with some mothers not as attentive to their youngsters as they should be. Otherwise nice little find. We go on an occasional basis and try to avoid the prom club gatherings.

A nice friendly cafe with a good sized play area for young children. Highly recommend the cakes. Well worth a visit especially if you have young children.

My family and I have visited this quaint church cafe on a number of occasions and always had pleasant experiences. The staff are the most welcoming of people and you can always count on a fun environment for children. As the cafe backs on to the canal and is very near the village it makes for an ideal stop if you are in lymm village centre or passing on the Trans Pennine. The menu is full of light snacks and small meals but the best bits will be found on display in the form of cake, pie and other baked goodies. All of these are home made by patrons/staff and always delightful. In general this cafe is an excellent stop for morning or afternoon. Make sure you order a piece of the carrot cake. A personal favorite.

Whilst the sun was shinning i took a stroll through our lovely village i popped into the Sanctuary cafe for a quick snack with my friend . We sat at table outside and grab a menu , we only wanted a snack so we opted for a cheese and ham panini , and a pot of tea fro two . When the food came i was quite surprised as the description said served with side salad and coleslaw .well the side salad was in a very small pot and there was no sign of coleslaw .i was quite disapointed and we left still quite hungry , i know it is a cafe connected to the church but the price seemed quite steep for a snack (£3.55) for a toasted panini and very small salad , the tea was nice though . I think a few crisps and a bit more salad would be justified and it wouldn't cost much more to produce .

Never been before but read reviews which seemed great, we all had Sunday lunch, I’m not saying it was a bad meal but the potatoes were hard, there wasn’t enough meat and would have liked more gravy maybe offered in a small jug, the beef was lovely and I did enjoy it but was disappointed with lack of veg, for dessert 3 had fruit crumble of which they all said it was mushy with a lack of flavour, for what is charged these days things do need improving, also the service wasn’t attentive enough I had to keep getting up to get some attention

Ordered food and drinks to eat outside on the benches in the sun with our dog. Benches were old and speckled with bird poo. Picked a decent one and ordered food at the bar. Asked for an item off the menu displayed at the door but was advised it wasn’t available (sharing board) and so had to order off a paper menu at the till. We got a steak baguette, garlic ciabatta with cheese and an off-menu ‘special’ of chicken loaded chips (I was advised this would be sweet chilli sauce, chicken, cheese and spring onion on fries). The food arrived and I was immediately disappointed. The special was fries loaded with cheese, tomato sauce, barbecue sauce , red onion, and what appeared to be small pre-cooked bits of chicken (the type you find in the freezer section of a supermarket). It tasted very odd, like a slap up meal a student might make after being out all night - but I ate what I could as I was starving. If it wasn’t for the garlic bread, I would have requested my money back. My boyfriend said he didn’t mind his steak baguette in the end - it was supposed to come with caramelised onions but they were barely transparent, and supposed to come with fries, but came with home-style chips instead (but that’s always a win). Drinks were standard. Outdoor area could use some work to be brought up to date, i.e., benches sanded and painted, fence panels put in to disconnect from the car park, lights and decorations, all to make it feel like your not sat on a patch of grass at the side of the road. Overall, service was disappointing and won’t be returning anytime soon. Really unfortunate as the pub is situated in a great area and has a lot of potential, especially for families with kids since bents is down the road.

I think it's amazing what this hotel is doing for people struggling with housing
