San Giuseppe in Broxbourne

Visited for the first time with a group of friends. It was absolutely lovely and so reminded me of places we’d been to in Italy. It looks like a cafe but the food is amazing. We ordered wine by the carafe and ordered various pasta dishes which we all said were delicious. Simple, relaxed, friendly, unhurried, just what eating out should be. We will definitely go back again soon.

I have to say, if you want a traditional Italian style pizza, this is your place. We use it for take away and it’s fantastic....especially with lots of Italian relative to please. They’ve all agreed it’s the closest to real Italy pizzas. Even does large pizzas for when you have parties but not tried this sort.

I ordered a takeaway two pizza that were better than the leading takeaway brands and the seafood linguine in tomato sauce, food was amazing and price was outstanding. Just before rye road train station please try you won’t be disappointed!

Have recently discovered this great local restaurant and been in several times for both take away & sit down meals. Owners are really friendly, it’s like you’re eating in their house. Delicious fresh pizza, and pasta dishes are great too. We’ve not had space yet for desserts. Portions are generous and it’s great value.

Great pizza and pasta , been here on few occasions now with friends , great value and very authentic, would highly recommend pasta with Italian sausage & mushroom it’s 5* ( that’s coming from an Italian) very welcoming , feels like having dinner in a friends home. Will be back soon with my parents.

Went to this restaurant with my family and had one of their giant pizzas. Absolutely fantastic, definitely one of the best pizzas I've had for a long time. The Panna cotta I had for dessert was stunning as well. Surprised it's not more well known, everyone should check this place out!

We had their excellent takeaway pizza, so thought we'd try the restaurant. Food was great, service was very personal and friendly. We definitely eat there again.

Whilst the setting isn’t restaurant like, I feel it’s more like being in nonnas dining room! Real family feel. Good prices. Authentic, rustic, delicious food. Small, friendly and Hoddesdons little secret!

we have walked past this place on a few occasions and although we don't live in this area we have heard that the food was good. What can I say, the waiter was so good, we had a lovely house wine and we took a photo of the bottle, so I know what to order another time. My husband had veal fungi and I had lasagna, it was amazing, the owner came and talked to us and he was a nice friendly man, we will be back soon. remember everyone give this place a try also lots of Italians eating in there so that too says the food is good.

From reports, I was expecting a fairly basic cafe with unexpected good food at very reasonable prices. The pizza and pasta are without doubt the star attraction and the pizza is very reasonably priced and good but the pasta and entres are priced at the same level as other much nicer restaurants with better facilities. The calamari starter was not cheap for its size. There was no children’s menu and they couldn’t facilitate a half portion of chicken Milanese for my granddaughter or reduce the price accordingly with chips only. I was told it was proportioned already. Even more reason to accommodate with a children’s menu. Apart from the pizzas, it should think about reducing the prices of rest of menu accordingly. The only white wine available was mediocre Chardonnay at £6odd for a med glass. Although quite busy, the service was good but one pleasant waiter coping alone wasn’t ideal. We will give this place another try but I think at the moment, it has illusions of grandeur when really it is a very nice basic cafe and the prices should reflect that. I do wish them well though.

Bocelli playing in the background. Tasty fresh scallops and prawns in white wine sauce followed by a half metre of pizza. No flights we walked and found a piece of sicily with genuine custoner services. Would recommend highly

Great service, real italian food. Beautiful pizza, many choices. I can't wait when the delivery will be available! The waiter very nice. For sure I will go there next time.

We had a variety of starters, pizza and pasta dishes and overall the food was excellent. You can taste the authenticity of the sauce they use and pizza is baked to perfection. The portion sizes are very good and none of us left hungry. The only criticism is that the attire of the waiters needs to be improved to make a more presentable image. Otherwise the service was very good.

I cannot pride enough this restaurant. It saved our weekend after a horrible experience in a nearby pub. Desperate for decent food we ended up at San Giuseppe. Never choice was luckier. Food was real Italian cooked with love. Everything was delicious. Tiramisu was a piece of art: one of the best I ever had. All family who runs it were amazing and friendly. Great service. I'd love to have it close to home. I'll be definitely back when in the area.

I have been in this restaurant five times now and the food gets better every time. I have had a pizza every time I have been here as it is the best pizza in Hertfordshire! I went yesterday and decided to try the pasta and was not disappointed. Very large portions! Very reasonably priced. Cheapest Italian in the area. The restaurant is not modern itself but makes you feel like you are sitting in an Italian dinning room. Staff are very friendly and would go out of their way to please.

food was 👌🏿 so good!!! but need to spend time on the inside needs updating and some tlc service was very good too highly recommend this place is you want real home cooking food !

Had a great dinner here on a sat evening. Having walked past it a lot and seen it looked busy I thought we should book and I’m glad we did. It’s very much like a restaurant in Italy and you feel on holiday. A casual restaurant, but we had excellent service from the waiter who was so friendly and attentive. Ordered 2 pizzas, one half metre and one calzone. Both were delicious, my calzone was well filled and so tasty and my partner pizza was massive and delicious. Couldn’t fault it in any way and it will be our go to. If you are looking for an upmarket fancy restaurant this isn’t it, but if you want good food and a friendly atmosphere it’s perfect. Yes there is scaffolding outside, makes absolutely no difference to the experience. Will be my go to Italian!

First visit to this little gem in Hoddesdon. Three different starters and three mains and we were not disappointed with any. Food portions are of a good size and taste delicious. Very reasonable price. Will definitely return.

We visited this lovely little place on my wife’s recommendation - I certainly wasn’t disappointed! The place has a real Italian vibe about it, including a proper wood fired pizza oven. The pizza really was as good as those I’ve eaten in Italy and Sicily. Everything that came out of the kitchen looked delicious. Very friendly family run business. It was my daughter’s birthday - we all had a really lovely time! I can’t wait to visit again...

We went here for a meal and ordered starters and a main each. The starters were fine, if a bit too big but the real disappointment was for our main courses. I ordered the tomato and mozzarella pasta and my partner ordered chicken and tomato pasta. First of all the pasta sauces were exactly the same (must have had a large pot on the hob) but my plate came out with a pile of pasta next to a large ball of cold mozzarella (exactly the same as you buy in Tesco) which had not been cooked, crumbled or any effort made at all apart from removing it from the packaging. My partners plate came out exactly the same but with a large piece of breaded chicken.

If you’re looking for authentic Italian food, San Giuseppe is the place to go.

What a little gem!!!!! First visit and it won't be my last. Warm friendly welcome. Staff were amazing. Food was plentiful and full of flavour. Could not fault the place at all. Felt like we were on holiday. So relaxed. Loved it. Perfect!!!!

I’ve been here a few times now and it’s been superb each time for eat in and take out. Top quality authentic Sicilian food unlike the chains in the town. They offer a really good menu with a big selection of starters, Pastas, pizzas and traditional meat dishes. The wine and service complimented my meal lovely! Can not fault it! Will have to save room for desert next time!

Regularly visit San Giuseppe with my girlfriend for both take-away and sit down meals, and we have both love it every single time! The food is so tasty, and the service is great, especially the friendliness from the restaurant owners! Definitely recommend!

Not worth a star but cannot score less. Can't be called a restaurant, I have been to nicer cafes. The Romanian waitress couldn't speak any English which was difficult but we just about managed. We ordered 2 x jugs of Apple Juice and to our shock we were served 2 x Tesco Apple Concentrate Cartons without any glasses. Well we were astounded to be charged £8.50 per carton which wasn't decantered nor poured for us. When we questioned that's when the true colours shone, the behaviour and threats were unbelievable. A place I would never suggest to anybody especially not a place for children. Yes a true picture of a previous comment, men standing outside smoking and intimidating passers by. Cannot be compared to the other well known establishments in Hoddesdon, they can be called restaurants.

The food is really good, the pizza was yummy and the pasta dishes were spot on. The fish starter was really fresh. Well worth a visit!

Super pizza and service, friendly (family run (from what I guessed). I ordered a takeaway pizza they jumped me to the front of the queue because it was busy in the restaurant so I wouldn’t be waiting long. I got home with my hot pizza quickly and it was delicious! I’ve been to Italy and Sicily and this is one of the best pizzas I’ve had outside of both places. I will be returning! Yum!

Came upon this place by chance when looking for something for lunch. A very happy discovery on my part. The room is certainly "no frills" and the menu is standard Italian fare but the quality is really good and the portions very generous. Though I had pasta, I noticed that they have a proper pizza oven (wood fired?) and the pizzas going out to other tables looked pretty good to me. The staff were welcoming and friendly and the cost very reasonable. Not in a location where you might expect to find a restaurant but good luck to them, they deserve to do well.

Really impressed by this local Italian restaurant. Excellent friendly service, good portions and freshly prepared to order home made cooking at a very fair price. You will have to go far to find better ....probably Italy!

I cannot fault this place and I'm so happy that this is our local pizzeria! Delicious, fresh, faultless food. The restaurant is quite small, but even when busy, you get your take away within 15 mins. Keep up the good work! Reasonably priced too!

Giuseppe and his team give a warm welcome and serve great food at a very reasonable price. Their Pizza's are amongst the best I have ever tasted in the UK or abroad.

We turned up at the restaurant at 7pm on saturday evening and was ushered to a table. The waitress could not speak or understand english, she knocked our bottles of peroni beer all over us and the table - very inexperienced school girl waitress. We waited 1 hour after ordering simple pizzas and nothing came, no food, no apologies or explanations. There were people hanging round outside the terrace smoking heavily and standing around. The decor was very basic/poor and non of the staff were friendly or bothered about our order. It seemed to e that because we wasn't local italian friends we were ignored. We cannot comment on the food as we didn't get any and they were not bothered one bit when we left very upset and hungry. Do not bother with this place - much nicer italian restaurants in the area where you are welcomed not ignored!!!!! parking terrible and so is the location. Can't see it lasting!!
