Today during lunchtime I was left waiting for 20 minutes while the waitress served customers who arrived after me - in all of that time, I wasn’t even offered a coffee! Walked out, but made a brilliant discovery. THERE IS A MUCH BETTER PLACE DOWN THE ROAD OPPOSITE THE FOOT BRIDGE (and called ‘The River Cafe’). Better menu, better prices, BETTER SERVICE, and a view of the river! Good bye Samy’s.

Got there and customers were annoyed as they were saying it was a 40min wait for food, so people were walking out, not good experience, hopefully it will improve

lovely food at a great price. I highly recommend the chips with garlic sauce. Service was a bit slow, but they was very apologetic

Brilliant place for a relaxed and reliable lunch. We had 3 small plates this time, perfect. Last time, sandwiches. On each occasion, impressed by warm welcome, and excellent food as ordered, including care for gf needs. We don't understand why it isn't busier! Maybe those chunky high tables in the window put people off? Far better quality than any other lunch in centre of town...we will be back!

Lovely little place and dog friendly, the waitress came straight over with a plate of dog biscuits and a bowl of water for the dogs. Very friendly staff and food was yummy

Couldn't believe it possible, but when I saw how much I'd been charged for 2 cappucinos and 2 diminutive croissants, I was outraged. This cafe is a 2nd rate choice for visitors to Shoreham. If they knew other top quality cafes in the heart of the town who charge almost half the rate of Samy's, they certainly wouldn't return !

How can you justify selling 2 cappuccinos and 2 stodgy croissants at a vast sum of £14.80 ? There is a high quality French Patisserie nearby who charge £8.60 for the same thìng, only the coffee and croissants are superb.

We went on the Monday & I had to come back on the Friday for the delicious French onion soup the best I have ever had . Home made sausage roll superb . My husband had poached eggs done to perfection . Staff and service great we will be back thanks

What a lovely little find! I visited this café with a friend for an evening coffee. We’d been trawling around the area looking for an open coffee shop, and had started to give up, but this little gem came up when I did a Google search. We parked right outside (my friend has a Blue Badge, but I think it would have been free anyway), found comfy seats at a cosy table and ordered our coffees, which were perfect. We sat enjoying our coffees while listening (and singing along!) to 60s music along with a group of other people, who were clearly enjoying themselves too. We stayed right up until closing time! The service was excellent and we just enjoyed relaxing in this great little café.

So friendly and the food is great! Lots of choice (but it had to be the mac n cheese) of comforting dishes, all fresh cooked. Also very impressed by the zero-alcohol beer range: you don't always get a choice on that. A warm welcome and they got a Columbo poster on the wall, so you know they are the right people.

Really lovely staff, but they need to get more organised at the weekends. Often they are turning tables away because you either have one person occupying a four person table or because the wait times are too long. If they re-worked things they could definitely get more punters through the door!

Such a lovely cafe. Have visited a couple of times now with friends. Staff are lovely and owners are very welcoming. Food is really tasty and good quality. Will definitely be returning.. again!

We popped in on Saturday 30th Sept with our dog Milo for brunch and the food was fantastic and beautifully presented. The staff were so nice and friendly and our dog Milo took an instant like to the lovely waitress who was so friendly. He was even happier to get his tasty sausage. Started to sit out front and was asked if I wanted to sit in the quiet back. It was a gorgeous day. I had my pup and they are welcome. There is a water bowl out front. He asked if he could bring her treats and water. He told me he would bring me some treats as well! Great service and wonderful sense of humor. Food was fabulous and tasted heavenly. I am happy that I stopped here. It’s a terrific spot and worth the time to enjoy.

We popped in as it was raining as glad we did as the food was excellent, I had a tuna and cheese toastie my husband had a BLT and our friends had a Halloumi baguette and a gluten free cake. The staff are lovely too.

Lovely little find for us. The girls were welcoming, chatty and friendly and the breakfasts we had were excellent. I had to order eggs as an add on to my breakfast which made it a bit more expensive than a regular cafe but it was well worth it. Nice atmosphere, excellent food and will definitely be going back.

Samy's offers a wide range of lunch choices, from traditional English café meals to more sophisticated dishes. Service is prompt and friendly. The tea is brewed properly. The atmosphere is cheerful here.

Julie who welcomes you is warm and welcoming, all over the bar keeping everyone topped up and areas clean. Cannot rate her any higher. She is an asset to the bar. Tapas not extensive enough but what we had was nicely cooked and well presented so well done chef. Nice evening

Went for lunch here with my mother in law. Warmly welcomed and looked after by friendly courteous staff throughout. Food and drinks were delicious. Will definitely be returning.

I had diner with my bf. we love service a specially one guy. Food it was fantastic,well present and good taste. But one thing I didn't like it was our 1st table next to staff area. We requested to move as I was afraid that one of them can by accident dropped something on me ;-) but stand of that all perfect. For sure if We'll be in Brighton again we'll go there Thanks guys

Good grub, filled a hole in an empty tum just when it was needed. Generous mug of tea with a toasted sandwich was all I needed on this visit and as they say "enough is as good as a feast". Spot on guys. ✔️

The condensation so bad you can't see out of the windows.myself and another customer didn't get what we ordered . unfortunately I won't be going here again.

Good hot breakfast, plenty of choice but a but greasy for us. Sausage wasn't the best. We should have asked for our drinks with the breakfast as either drunk it or cold when the food came. Pleasant staff and quite busy.

Must have gone on an off day!! Literally a handful of breakfast for £10.50 and breakfast without an egg! Went home to get something to eat. Coffee and tea supposed to come with the breakfast but was charged on top. Nobody in the place except the five of us, but it took over three quarters of an hour for the food to arrive, which with two hungry small children was a bit of an ordeal. The tiny amount of food and the cost means we probably wouldn't be in a hurry to go back.

Beautiful little cafe. Great coffee & perfectly cooked breakfast. Gentleman behind the counter was lovely & the toilets were spotlessly clean.

Pleasant restaurant and cafe. Very nice staff. They had a small selection of GF foods but the atmosphere and staff more than made up for it. I will happily come again and recommend.

Lovely place for a brunch. Always enjoy the food here. Also caters well and has good understanding of gluten free requirements for someone who is coeliac. The food is also aways served very hot which is great. Lovely friendly staff, always very good with my young children when I take them too.

Terrible service without apology, order completely incorrect and waitress in a foul mood! - they weren’t overly busy yet all orders to over tables incorrect too! Waited over an hour for a mediocre fry up with cheap quality food would avoid at all costs!

Walked past this cafe many times but after a nice walk down the river path decided to try for a lunch snack. Ordered a tuna sandwich which came with a nice amount it salad and a sausage sandwich came with some nice potato chunks. Food was good and well presented. will visit again and try the cake next time.

Went to Samy's today for breakfast with a friend. We got a warm welcome when we walked in and the service was brilliant. The food was excellent and the café was really nice. Would 100% recommend.

A nice little coffee shop for coffee, or later for cocktails / tapas. Simple but relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff, good service and reasonable prices.

We've been here once before and saw that they had a new tapas menu out, so decided to return. I'm glad we did! I'm gluten free and our waiter, Mitchell, was aware of what was OK for me to eat. He was friendly and helpful throughout. The food took quite a while to arrive, but we were in no hurry and it shows that it's all freshly cooked to order. Each dish was well cooked and delicious, and the jug of sangria was very potent! The menu isn't that big, which is always a good sign in my view. We'll definitely come back again.

Had some issues with there suppliers for vegan food. But went the extra mile to make sure I got some good food

We always walked past Samys but never ventured in.. until tonight and boy we have missed out. Everything was perfect. The menu was not too big that it was overwhelming, the food was outstanding and the service was impeccable. The owner was attentive and he knew his stuff and was certainly accompanying. We left tonight thinking we ate great food and had a brilliant experience . Will definitely be returning.

Sam made me a mega-breakfast on Christmas Eve to takeaway and have on Christmas Day as my oven died and Christmas breakfast is my favourite thing. I put it all on the plate and reheated it in the microwave and it was fantastic. Kept in the fridge overnight then reheated the next day and it still tasted better than any other freshly cooked breakfast available in Shoreham. I have had numerous meals to take away from Sam's including 12 person dinner parties worth of Tapas and every single time anything I get is brilliant. There is a lot of competition in Shoreham, there's a lot of good food here but the I'd say Sam's is the best of them. Merry Christmas :)

Snack lunch and coffee. Bread was extremely fresh and my sausage sandwich came with saute potatoes. My husband said the ham in his sandwich was very tasty and his sandwich came with a small salad. Delicious

Had an excellent meal last night. Delicious tapas. I reccomend the beef cheeks. The mussels and clams were lovely too. Service was friendly. Lovely to have such an excellent option in Shoreham.

What a great little place! The wait staff were so friendly and cheerful, and the chef even came out to join us singing Happy birthday. Delicious food and very accommodating of dietary restrictions. Will definitely be back!

By far the best full English breakfast in shoreham and probably beats most of them in Brighton as well in my experience, also very friendly staff and a great cup of tea so fully worth 5 stars.

Samys is a cafe by day and a tapas restaurant come Thursday Friday Saturday evening. Friendly helpful staff and the best tapas I've had outside of Spain. Definitely the best food in Shoreham by Sea.

Wow! What a treat to find this little gem in Shoreham... if you haven't already tried the tapas I strongly suggest you do! Having lived in Spain for many years I can honestly say that the chef's choices took me back to forgotten flavours that...

Well staffed, but the wine was somewhat overpriced. Not aware of the food prices, but the fayre seemed to be tapas based which, in the UK is always overpriced, so beware.

We enjoyed the most delicious, freshly cooked breakfast. Smashed avocado and simple English. The coffee was great too!

Today we dined out for the first time since pre-covid. I was nervous as not only did we need to feel "safe" in doors with our little girl but I have very really high standards and expectations with food and restaurants as I can cook...

Very slow service, food was mediocre... who wants a vegetarian sausage with two pork sausages? Needless to say, I won't be going back - there are better places to grab a bite.
