We’ve been coming to this chip shop for the last 5 years and it is best the fish and chip shop we eat from. Freshly cooked and consistently good.

We wantied a quick bite to eat ,chips were verry freshly cooked, fish was cooked beautifully, verry thin butter ,verry tasty 😋 do recommend, but is take away only . I would definitely visit again if we are in the area .

Absolutely beautiful of a potato. Cut great. Brilliant texture. It's sausage was amazing like something sent down from heaven. WORTH

Fish was very nice but wasn't btold there would be a ten-minute wait for it without an update. However, as the fish was very good I would go there again.

Outstandingly good fish and chips, definitely worth making an effort to get to. Super fresh fish, cooked beautifully in a thin crispy batter and top notch chips as well. We had two 'small' fish and chips ( more than generous servings) plus a couple of tomato ketchup sachets and the bill was £20, very good value these days.

Dropped in for a portion of chips, took my money and said it would be a minute. Waited about 5 mins then someone came in who had ordered and he got his fish and chips and left. After asking I found out I was waiting for chips to be cooked and it was a full 10 minutes before I got my food..it would have been nice to have been told at the point of ordering that there was a 10 minute wait on chips.what's happened to good old fashioned service!

Nice to find a chippy that's not expensive! But be careful of parking! It's up a side street but there are signs up you don't notice!

Best fish and chips. It’s that simple. Generous portions, extremely reasonable pricing and the perfect balance of good tasting food vs not too greasy. They don’t take card, so it’s cash only but the minor inconvenience is 100% worth it. Friendly service. Been in there before with a Just Eat driver getting a bit annoyed at something or other. Staff were apologetic and helpful; even when the issue wasn’t their fault. My food, like every time I have been previously, was hot, tasty and well portioned. Particular shout out for the kids cod and chips, which included the cutest mini cods I’ve ever seen. Both my kids prefer these to a Maccers cheeseburger (and they love those too). I’ve had many fish and chips in my time. This one trumps them all.

Off the main road - barely visible and only a pavement board to point you, this chippy is doing a roaring trade to knowing locals. Great service well cooked food and tastes fresh caught. Thanks guys.

Food quality is usually great but when you have specifically asked for salt and vinegar on your chips which are delivered wrapped and then they are plain for me spoils the whole meal. The last two times despite adding notes they have come plain and there’s something in chip shop vinegar that makes the meal it’s not the same as normal vinegar!

Bought a cheese burger n chips. It was literally a dried up skinny bit of meat and a slice of plastic cheese in a dry bun. Disgusting

Sausage had no taste but I was starving so I ate it. chips were barely warm. Sorry not going to order again.

Have to be honest not as great as it used to be. Fish very small and mostly batter! A few of the chips were not cooked thru. And sausage not alot of flavour. Sorry won't be coming back.

I ordered fish and chips from this shop when it came it cost £29.pp I realised I forgot to order chips, when I went to reorder i it would of cost £10.05 , They wanted delivery service charge smal order charge.in the end we cook some chips up. Won't be going back again to expensive,

Always lovely freshly cooked food

I love, love, love this place. Highly recommended. I go here every time I am down visiting my mum. I'm vegan and I take my Quorn or Green Cuisine, vegan "fish fishless fingers" and "fishless scampi", for them to cook for me and they come out great! Of course I also order their delicious mushrooms and onion rings that are crispy batter on the outside and perfectly cooked inside. Their chips are just right, not soggy and not too hard and they ask about vinegar and salt before adding for take away. Portions are large and I can never eat it all in one sitting, it's always two meals and so reasonably priced. Even reheated on greaseproof paper, in the oven, their chips are cooked using a crisp and dry type oil so they still come out great. I love putting soy sauce and onion vinegar on mine (soy is better than salt for you). Other half loves lemon and ground pepper on his. They are a local family business (father and son) and they're so friendly and kind, who else do you know who would fry your supermarket bought "fish substitute" stuff for you, because you're vegan?! I know they are available on Uber Eats too (for when I'm not down visiting my mum in Southwick, but want to get her a treat to her door, as she's 70!). They are great with the cod too, as my mum's always saying the size fish for the price, is bigger than expected, the batter is crisp, the cod is flaky and tasty. She's usually a negative nelly who complains about small portions and soggy batter from other shops we'd tried before, so they've done the impossible with pleasing her! Wish I could take them with me back to London, but I'll have to make do with visiting them when I see my mum! :-D

My wife and I go to this place when we visit my mother-in-law. She's often negative and has previously complained about small portions and soggy batter from other fish and chip shops. So it is high praise to hear from her that the "Fish size is good for the price, bigger than expected", and that their "batter is crisp", and that the "cod is tasty". A big part of why we now only go to them on our visits. Truly a blessing to see them each time we visit and their smiles and kindness always brightens our day. Looking forward to the next time we see them.

Popped in for a mid-afternoon takeaway of cod and chips. The chips were excellent but the cod barely qualified as a fish. Flat, dry and overcooked. The man behind the counter certainly wasn't on a charm offensive, but he got the job done. I probably wouldn't return.

Kiddies' chip portions £1, medium chips which made me glad I did not ask for large. Off to the beach and ate while watching the waves. Lovely. Nice chips. If I lived nearer I would visit more often. Well done Blunden's.

The service was quick and the children's fish pieces were great but the chips left a lot to be desired. They were pale although cooked through, but no sign of any crispiness. Possibly due to the potatoes at this time of year.

One of the best chippies I've found around the area and boy I've tried and worked a few. Even though it's a half hr drive from us it's worth it. Nice that it's all cooked fresh in front of you so no soggy chips or batter. Very reasonably priced with friendly staff. Looking forward to our next visit 🤤

I have eaten fish n chips from this shop for many years, however, today I am very disappointed with the quality of the fish that was delivered. It was so dried out, that it had clearly been sat in the hot storage for many hours.

I can only rate this on their chips as that's all we had and they were great.

Service was friendly fish and sausage was great, chips this time were a disappointment, for some reason they have started to use grease proof paper to line the cardboard container, this means the chips end up soggy and stuck to the bottom of the container Also they only accept cash which is a pain if you only have cards on you Sort your chips out and this would have been 5 stars

This place is really poor fish and chips. We asked if it was fresh and they told us it comes in frozen from London. Everything from the chips to the batter on the fish and the battered sausage is of the lowest quality. Shoreham has to have much better - we went there based on Tripadviser reviews but assume all the positive ones were either fakes or outdated.

I make a point of coming here as they make the chips fresh every time. Takes a little longer to get your order but so worth it. Highly recommended.

Monday 15th February 2021@ 12.15hrs I purchased cod & chips from Bludens Fish & Chip shop in No.1 John Street, Shoreham. BN43 5DL (UK), costing Approx £10. When one arrived home put goods on warm plate started to eat the chips and yuk!! they tasted really awful, soft, soggy, I would state that they were used potatoes that had been stored and all gone soft and should not of been used, Fish was ok, but was thinly cut(sideways);not thick as cod should be. For about 4-5 dayssince, I had not eaten anything due to being unconfortable and sick, felt like one had food poisoning set in. Shall phone the shop today Saturday 20th inst.

Best fish and chips I've had for years. The fish was delicious and fresh, the chips were fantastic and the owner was friendly and welcoming. I've already told people about this place. A real hidden gem.

We haven't been to this chippy for a few years but fancied some chips the other day and we where not let down. They where very delicious and popping hot. Gentleman working there was nice and friendly and we where able to call ahead so they where ready on our arrival. Decent potatoes!

Food is always good quality and piping hot as it is cooked fresh to order. Prices are reasonable and there is a good choice on the menu.

Slightly pricey, but that's a lot of fish & chip shops for you ... ever since the potato became more expensive pound for pound than gold. Having said that, properly cut, not frozen chips and generously sized fresh fish. Both light and not greasy. The whole place feels very clean and hygienic too.

We got takeaway fish and chips from here today and it was perfect. I had Huss and it was lovely and fresh it is not always available at some shops but I am a brightonian and Huss was always the most popular fish. My husband had the cod and it was lovely and full of flavour. Top marks.

Lovely fresh cooked best I've had in a while

Really lovely fish and chips went here back in June 2019 and although it was nice and staff were super friendly the batter was a bit thick, we then went to the other fish and chip shop on the high street for. While but they have tailed off recently so we decided to give Blundens another go. It was excellent. The. Fish was so much better and the batter perfect. Chips were always good. It is definitely our regular now. Amazing food friendly service and seems by the queues we are not the only ones too think so.

To be honest I was a little disappointed. The reviews seemed good but it really didn't live up to expectations. The fish and chips weren't the best and to be fair not the worst, just very average. And coronavirus aside the wait was ridiculous with seemingly no order to the food being prepared. I'm sure the food is better than this normally..
