Fish was nice but the chips were tasteless. I particularly asked for my chips to be extra extra crispy, but sadly they were not crispy at all. Ended up throwing them away

The food is okay, certainly only average. I've been in there a few times & each time it's taken about 10 minutes to get 1 battered sausage & chips. The old man doesn't waste any words. Just looks at you & says " salt, vinegar" then just says what you assume is the price. If you put the money on the counter top he just shoves a plastic tray at you saying "money here". He is rude and abrupt.

First time we’ve had fish and chips from here. The fish was the freshest and flakiest I’ve had in a long time and the batter was crisp and delicious. The chips were tasty but maybe a tad greasy. The portions were very generous. Will definitely come here again.

Great fish and chips 2 large cod and large chips, they know my order as I walk in the door. Highly recommended

Excellent food as usual and lovely service

Gutted. This used to be the best fish n chippy in Lancing. Just got fish and chips to save cooking on NYE, had to empty the food onto kitchen roll there was so much grease. Chucked them away in the end. Inedible. Can't get the grease off my lips. Absolutely appalling. Will not be going back again.

Usually served by the lovely Chinese lady, who gives free chocolate bars to my daughter. The man is less gregarious. Haddock takes about ten minutes. Worth waiting. Local paper or The Sun to read. We live in London but are always pleased to visit my mother-in-law in Lancing, because there are no fish and chips as good as this anywhere in London.

I don't live in Penhill, but I travel to get Fish & Chips from Penhill Chippy I think there best Fish & Chips in Swindon, the owners may not be from this Country but they do know how to cook a good Fish & Chips, somebody said on your reviews greasy total rubbish I've been going there for a long time minds never been greasy they have improved on their batter staff always pleasant, maybe the Chinese chippies ought to go there to learn to do decedent Fish & Chips thank you Penhill Chippie a satisfied customer

We've recently moved to the area and thought we'd try here for my partners favourite treat; fish and chips dinner. The price was very good however the quality of the food, appauling. The batter on fish and sausages was overcooked, the chips were clearly warmed up from lunch time and some potatoes not even cut into chip shapes and instead just half a potato. My partner prides himself on his love of a chippie and has said hes never had one that's disappointed him as much as this. We won't be returning.

Stopped here on Easter Monday, our last night of camping around the corner. No food cooked but they were open and we waited for our freshly cooked f+c. Tasted great and was good value too.

Excellent Fish & Chip served. Prices very reasonable. Love my favourite fish -Husk. One very large bone and full of fish meat- Delicious!! There are other varieties on the board that you can buy. Owners of Penhill Fish Bar is very courteous. You can request that the batter is not too crusty when deep fried if you prefer. Very easy to park unlike Taylor Fish Shop in the high street where vehicles are always parked even though they are not the customers.

The fish was tasty and the batter was nice and light, but it was all just so greasy. The scampi looked to have been processed to within an inch of its life as well.It's a shame, because you'd think these things could be fixed pretty easily. If they are I'd be glad to come back.

Really good and loads of food for low price.

I don't recommend this. There are much better chip shops around the corner like Mr chips. I got a large chips and took them 5 minutes to prepare and they were all soggy. Went back the next week and ordered a small chips and cheese and onion pasty. Chips were soggy like last time and pasty was microwaved. DO NOT GO HERE

They don't cook in palm oil so far less greasy than the others in lancing! Don't change please!

The family has always used this plaice for years. Cod knows this serves the best and would not know if we Haddock go somewhere else, who could match them for quality and service.

I often travel to Lancing from Worthing for evening fish and chips, the quality is always worth the trip. My favourite is Cod Roe and Chips which are always cooked to order, fresh and delicious and of excellent value

Smashing chippie (takeaway only). Food always cooked fresh so nothing hanging around. If it's busy times expect a wait ... but well worth it. Small portion of chips for two people is ample in fact more than enough. Fish always very good.

Penhill Fish Bar is the best in Lancing, and have lived here since 1985, so had plenty of time to try the others!

We moved to Lancing some three months ago and hadn't had fish and chips for years, not living anywhere near a chippie previously. Neighbours, the window repairer and a number of other people recommended this chippie. We gave it a go and it was the best fish and chips we have had in a long time.Food is cooked to order so piping hot and fresh. Good portions and they do a pensioners fish too, ideal for us as well as for children. We've been tempted on two more occasions since then. Mustn't make too much of a habit of it!!

Love this place, the food is lovely and reasonably priced. I love chatting to the lady owner who speaks little English but she understands a lot. They are always busy during dinner and especially the weekends.

Chips were undercooked, but sausages were great, always seems packed at lunch times and towards the end of the night.

Savaloy was shrivelled up! Chips hard. Ordered over phone but still had to wait 15 mins ! Never again! Much better chippies around.
