Sam's On The Beach in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

Birthday meal. Great location, friendly staff, excellent service and delicious food. Portions were generous. Scallops were awesome!

After our very positive dinning experience at Sam’s in Fowey, it was an easy decision to try Sam’s on the beach. Parking is a bit of a challenge, but the lunch time experience with a view of the sea was worth it. The seafood salads and surf and turf were very good. Friendly staff and a good restful atmosphere. Recommend you book to avoid disappointment.

Amazing staff, wonderful atmosphere and food to die for. Would highly recommend. We all tried different things from the menu and couldn’t fault a thing, beautiful place and beautiful people. Thank you

Wow wow wow this place is special and when we got back to our hotel which was the harbour hotel we told other guest to go, and one guest booked for the next day, the view is beautiful the sunset was magical but the food was so fresh and exceptional and the staff were great , I would be a regular if I lived near by amazing

Excellent service and food, one of our favourite places to eat and our last visit didn’t disappoint. Lobster with a tarragon sauce, served with some salad and fries was delicious, mussels to start superb. Calamari and linguine seafood hit the spot! After reading many happy reviews, we booked in advance and were excited for an evening dinner at Sam's, only to be disappointed. We've travelled from London to enjoy the Cornish coast and was sat next to the open kitchen with no sea view. The heat from the kitchen was unbearable, and we asked to be moved. The waiters were very polite and moved us to a table outside. The restaurant is literally on the beach with stunning views. It's very laid back, so don't expect tablecloths or comfy chairs. Overpowered seafood linguini with oregano and overcooked pasta. Mushroom tagliatelle swimming in oil and served with overcooked linguini pasta. Pizza was burnt. Sad to say, but the meal was very below standards and highly overpriced with young and inexperienced staff. Restaurant facilities are in need of renovation, looking tired and dirty. Such a shame. Strip the menu back and get a professional chef in to cook simple, honest seafood dishes.

We decided to have the meal after our simple wedding ceremony at Sam's On The Beach, Polkerris Beach. All of the staff were so lovely, so friendly, and treated us like royalty. They even took some photos of us to put on their social media platforms. It was all in all the most glorious day and one that was made so precious by the staff there. Couldn't fault it. All of the staff were wonderful, gave us a drink on the house and Millie was just wonderful. This place is a hidden gem with beautiful food and beautiful people xxxx

The food at this restaurant was absolutely delicious, good value for money with massive pizzas. Very attentive waitresses ensuring our meal was amazing. Lovely setting overlooking the sea. I was a bit disappointed when the manager informed us we could not have anymore drinks only an hour and a half after we had arrived due to her having counted the intake of the day already. It made us feel rushed as we were one of the last bookings. Despite this i would recommend giving Sams a go, but perhaps book a bit earlier!

What a find, lovely old RNLI building, fantastic views and right on the beach. Park in the public car park and walk down the hill, do not try and park near or next to pub at beach, it is only a two minute walk down the hill. Food is fantastic and really fresh, i do not like fish so had the paste, pork belly had just finished. I was not disappointed as was lovely. My wife had Sardines and Ashe said they were great and very tasty. Setting is fantastic staff were very attentive and helpful. Tip…although they do take walk ins it is very busy so best to book, they also have seating outside you can request if on a nice day Park in car park and walk down.

After reviewing comments from TikTok, we had to visit. Well, what a loverly setting on the beach and an outstanding welcome from staff, refreshing to see people happy and proud of their workplace. The menu was inviting across the board, and boy did each course deliver. Do not hesitate, if you can get a booking, this is one not to miss. Thank you, Sam. we left on a huge high xx

Amazing meal and service as always - We love heading here as it’s a relaxed all round lovely experience! Amazing scallops, sardines and bouillabaisse as well as the trio seafood platter which was just the best start to a meal! Thank you Sam!

Stunning location stunning food- we sat at a table overlooking the beach and had a seafood feast! choosing sardines, calamari, mussels & crevette starters followed by a whole lobster with fries!! Service was warm, friendly and attentive. Park up the road for free after 6pm in the pay and display car park. We had a lovely walk along the beach in sunset afterwards. Highly recommend, we’ll definitely be back!

Have been coming here for 10 years & have had many great meals as a family, the last time we came the food was not up to the usual standards, but we thought it was a 1 off & gave the benefit of the doubt. So it was really disappointing to find that the food quality has really dropped, the Chicken Basque is like they have added a pre-cooked chicken breast at the last minute, dry & flavourless. My Steak which was ordered med/rare was served straight from the griddle, so by the time it had rested was well done. If the chef cannot cook a basic steak, then he should perhaps reconsider. My daughter ordered the sundae (samboca?) which used to be a challenge, the only challenge now is understanding how they can charge £8 fir a couple of scoops of vanilla ice cream. Whilst the food quality has gone done, the prices certainly have not, quite the opposite, the prices are now London weighted prices, but the quality is far short of what any restaurant should serve. Really sad to say, but we will not come back, which is a real shame as we have supported the Sam’s restaurants across multiple venues & the visits have been part of our children’s upbringing. Sorry Sam, time to go back to basics.

We were lucky enough to be able to book a window seat for our meal at Sam's which meant we could watch the sea while we dined. As soon as we arrived we were shown to our table and offered some water. We had eaten elsewhere the previous evening and had a bad experience, so it was so nice to feel we were somewhere where staff knew how to look after their customers. Our food was delicious, I had the chicken basque. My husband ordered a portion of truffle fries to go with his meal and then struggled to eat many of them as the portions were generous. It was a lovely dining experience in a beautiful setting.
