Fish & chips were fine, but curry sauce is like water... inedible till cooked again with curry sauce granules. Had been OK before...

Listen. I’m not a big fish and chips fan usually, but Sam’s F&C delivers everytime. Their pies are also impeccable. My dad had just traveled to Brighton, home to the supposed best fish and chips in the UK, and he himself said that even Sam’s F&C were better than any he’s had in Brighton. Highly recommended! Can also opt for less salt which is what I usually do. Thanks for your awesomeness Sam and friends!

A lovely busy local Fish and Chip shop, always clean, as in spotless! So always polite and most importantly lovely Fish and Chips at a reasonable price. Recommended. The best fish and chips ever! I love the Fish and Chips from Sam’s Fish Bar. The whole experience from being able to order over the phone, set a collection time and then just pay at collection with the food hot and ready; it’s all very efficient and very well run. The staff are always very friendly and always welcoming which is really nice. The food is incredible too. Genuinely! The fish is cooked to perfection, it’s not too dry and it’s not over battered but the batter is light and delicious and golden, the fish is moist, hot and flaky, it melts in your mouth! The chips are great too and I love the curry sauce! It’s really really good quality food and honestly the best fish and chips I have ever had! I recommend this chippy 100% - if you are in the area and looking for Fish and Chips for tea, Sam’s Fish Bar is genuinely the best you can get!

I called in an order for 13 people for a family lunch - picked it up 30 minutes later and the guys were really friendly. They had everything cooked and just boxed it up in front of me and marked each meal so it was super easy when I took them home. We were all really happy with the freshness, excellent quality and good portion sizes. Thanks!

Efficient ordering process, the fish is freshly made in front of you, perfectly cooked and not soggy at all. I got the gluten free and my partner the regular and both tasted great. The chips are normal chippy chips but the fish is a stand out.

My wife and I have been to this restaurant several times now and I can say that it is consistantly brilliant. As an 87 year old with an 86 year old wife who was living in the fish & chip capital of Lancashire for 37 years we consider ourselves experts in this meal and I believe SAMS to be the best fish and chips in the whole country . My wife is crazy for their GRILLED plaice rather than fried. I just love their haddock & chips fried. You really ought to call in and do yourselves a massive favour

We drove from Brighton (we are visiting there from London) to this place after seeing the reviews and it didn't disappoint. The fish is great, regular portion is quite large, very clean and staff are very friendly. We ate in and there is a seating section which is separated from the main area with sliding doors, so you don't end up smelling like fish and chips if you eat in. They also have many options for sides and drinks. Highly recommend.

We came here to have fish and chips, thinking we would share them in the car. We didn't realise they had a eat in area, which was a lovely treat on a cold day. The food is really nice and not too greasy unlike some other fish and chip shops 😋 We will come back again!

Great for vegans and veggies! Lots of options and they cook the chips and vegan/veggies options separately from the fish and meat for you. They are very patient and accommodating with intolerances etc and will show you the allergy lists and are very thorough and thoughtful with it. Friendly and helpful team and service

Treated my parents, as they were looking after grandkids for us. His words were "Best piece of Huss and best chippy I've had in years". Kids love their meals from there too. I think they will be frequenting using you when they come to babysit each time!

Well, just had a large haddock and small chips which I shared with my husband and the haddock was fantastic. It was very well cooked and the batter was lovely and crispy. For a small portion of chips, there were loads and really hot. I can honestly say it is the nicest piece of fish we've had for a long time.

Always the go to chippy but a big shoutout to the super friendly guy late this evening who done my order, I arrived annoyingly close to the closing time and yet my order was no issue and customer is always great!

My family's fav place. So fresh always and amazing quantity for price. fish is alway very crispy, amazing scampi and calamari too! Excellent for price

Took the opportunity to phone through an order, absolutely pointless waste of time. Almost an hour from phoning, spending 30 minutes waiting. Get your system sorted or do not take orders, designed to take waiting time down

Nice chips. Have had better but have also had a lot worse. Batter was not as crispy as I'd like it but that's personal preference and again, was still nice and freshly cooked.

Probably the best fish and chips in the UK. Sam’s large cod is insanely good: it’s freshly cooked, flaky and the batter is delicious. Everything is cooked to order and the chips are always fresh. Nothing is too greasy- just hot, excellent quality and scrumptious. The staff are also very friendly. An absolute must. Thank you Sam’s Fish Bar.

I recently used Sam’s to cater for an event I was hosting. They were quick to respond when we were communicating, the order was boxed, labelled and ready to go when I went to collect and the food was delicious. We had a mixed order of sausage and chips, fish and chips and burger/veggie burger and chips - all of which were very generous portion sizes. When I originally visited to enquire about my event, I was particularly impressed to see that there were gluten free options available at all times and how careful they were when dealing with these orders to avoid cross contamination. My partner has not eaten fish and chips since being diagnosed and said that you would not have known that they were gluten free and every bit as good as he remembered fish and chips to taste! Overall I would highly recommend, whether you need food for 40 people or for coeliacs or for people who just enjoy good fish and chips!

It's the best fish and chips in haywards heath. Perfect chips, high quality fish (I've only tried the cod), nice service. Very good all round.

We have tried several fish and chips shops in Haywards Heath and the surrounding areas and by far Sam's Fish Bar is the best. I like their rockfish - it's super fresh. Their batter is on the thin side which makes it suuuper crunchy and doesn't overpower the taste of the fish. The chips are crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Everything is good and next time we will be back for some mushy peas. 😋 It's also a place with friendly and welcoming staff. You can take your time and enjoy the food without feeling rushed.

To expensive other places cheaper or bigger portions.. No whitebait. Fairly small portions To greasy sometimes. Not on the apps

Good food, but pricey and when you get home to find that something is missing they seem to think that an extra potion of chips is ok as an apology (not the first time this has happened, but if I wanted an extra portion of chips I would have ordered them in the first place)

We had already been in the past and had been wanting to come back since. We were as impressed as the first time. The fish was generously thick and the batter was crispy and thin. The staff was friendly and efficient and the restaurant was tidy and clean. We don't live in the area but will look for an opportunity to come back.

Friend recommendation - didn't disappointment, the haddock was beautifully cooked and full of taste, the chips were cooked to perfection also, really enjoyed it, would highly recommend!!!!! We made use of the dine in facility and it didn't break the bank either, 10 out of 10!!

You won't get better service or food than Sam's fish bar. Staff are really amazing and friendly and genuinely care about their customers. They even give us a fish cake for our dog when she's with us. Best fish and chips I've ever had too! Thank you for being so great!!
