What a lovely evening - we had the world's nicest waitress and the food was as delicious as always! Thank you, Sami's, for serving fried chicken livers (not easy to find in kosher restaurants) and for making them so tasty - you never disappoint :)

Fantastic food. Best meal deal was lamb shishlik in a wrap with chips and bottle of water. I tried other lamb dishes, too. I always enjoyed the food. It is a bit pricy. I don't go very often to kosher restaurants only when I really want meat.

Chicken soup and kneidlach: best I’ve had in London maybe anywhere, the soup was so flavoursome and 2 enormous kneidlach of the finest consistency. Took away a schnitzel in laffa also amazing flavours attained though spices and herb and sauces and marination of the chicken, best I’ve had in years. Thanks to Sami and all the team. Great waitress as well.

Everything was delicious, beautifully presented, and served with a smile. It was also as good as we remembered from our previous Sami's meal, so we hope the chef stays forever!

I’ve ordered pizza, shawarma shawarma very dry. Very salty pizza was 80% salad. Almost no meat inside not recommend it. I have all the Yemeni soup was good.

I live in London and I know the expensive prices of kosher resterants. Last night I had just finished work and I was too tired to go home and cook so I went past Sam’s, In Hendon, I ordered a shwarma in Laffa to take away and I was VERY IMPRESSED with the price and quality of the food. This place is not the Ritz but if you like a reasonably priced meal ,this is the place for you. Sami’s ,keep up the good work,

I have eaten at Sami's in Hendon 3 times recently. The first time, my companion ordered the mixed grill with 5 meats (they charge different prices depending on how many meats you choose). When it arrived he took one look and said to the waitress, "there are only 3 meats here." She replied, "yes, that's what you get for the mixed grill." He had to get her to bring the menu back so he could show her she was wrong! She then got the kitchen to cook the rest of his meal. On the second visit, I asked for some pitta bread to munch while waiting for the main courses. The waitress suggested we might like one large laffa that we could share. I replied, "that's fine, as long as it come before the main course." She said no problem. 15-20 minutes later, the main courses came. No sign of the laffa. On the third visit, my companion ordered a steak. When he brought it to the table, the waiter said, "would you like a steak knife?" She said yes and he replied, "I'll go and get that for you." It never arrived. The food is good and the prices are fair. BUT while the service is polite, respectful and friendly, it is ridiculously sloppy.

We had a great experience all around. Telephone ordering was easy, food was ready at our chosen pick-up time, and everything was hot, fresh and delicious. Highly recommended - especially for our favourite chicken livers!

Large choice of food. Tasty and kosher. Only eight tables but worth the wait to sit down. Would definitely go back there.

Chicken soup, awful, osem mix added, could see the green bits from the powder, chicken wings, greasy just added bbq sauce on top, called it bbq, dreadful, humus and chicken Shawarmer just diced cooked chicken with paprika giving it a very bitter taste. All in the bin. Fried potatoes burnt, cold and greasy.. absolutely revolting.

Highly recommended vegan restaurant. Clean and portion are good as well as reasonably priced. You need to call in advance for a table though.

Sami’s is a long-standing Hendon staple. It’s an Israeli-style restaurant serving the usual open grilled fare. Portions are large, prices fair and service quick, but there was nothing about the food to make it stand out in any way.

Great place to get something to eat. The Young Lady who runs place is excellent. Both my son and I enjoyed it very much.

We get regular takeaways from Sami's and have always enjoyed them. No more. We ordered 2 x charcoal chicken, 1 in laffa, 1 in pita. The laffa was somehow doughy and crumbly at the same time. The filling was mean, only a couple of small pieces of chicken. The pita had 2 small pieces of chicken and a tiny spoonful of fried onion. More than half the serving was plain bread as I was eating it. It used to be that the pitas were so full the filling would fall out as you picked it up. Very disappointing especially as the food is not cheap.

My family and I visit Sami's regularly and, during the lockdowns, also ordered take out. The staff are very friendly and helpful, always asking us how we are and that it's good to see us again. We have two children, aged 6 and 4, who always ask to go there every Sunday for lunch, so that's what we tend to do. The food is always great, there has never been an issue with anything over the years that we have been coming here. Portion sizes, for me anyway, are quite large and I can never manage to finish both sides which accompany the meal. The wife and kids also really enjoy the food here. There is ample choice: classic middle eastern foods, Chinese and now some selection of Indian, which I have not yet tried but plan to in the future. Highly recommend this place.

Very disappointed with Sami’s. Main courses now only come with one side plus tomatoes and cucumber. Spaghetti bol very small portion and not very tasty . They are cutting portions and increasing prices

Ordered food via Deliveroo On arrival one of the meals was missing. Called Sami's who said it was not their fault but the fault of Deliveroo. Deliveroo said it was Sami's fault. They are both game playing and wasting my time and I am not...

Went to Hendon branch for dinner one cold winter midweek evening. Was quite crowded. The portions were large, service reasonably quick. The staff were helpful and friendly. Our grandchildren chose the burgers which were large. The rolls were fresh. My wife had the chicken salad....

Enjoyed hot soups, one vegetable and the other kneidlach. Then had the nicely charred lamb shishlik with the welcome choose-your-own salad. And good value

I went with my friend and ordered fish fried in a beer batter and chips, afraid I wasn't keen on it tho the Israeli working there who I think might be the manager said it was a new dish on the menu and customers seemed...

Went a few nights ago with my friend and she had Yemenite soup which she loves and lamb cutlets , mashed potatoes and veg which I had recommended as the cutlets are excellent lamb is meaty and juicy don't like the way the veg is cooked but that is just my opinion. Last time we went there in Dec 18 I had ordered Yemeni soup and grilled chicken with salad for my friend to take home to her daughter who is also a friend of mine so on this recent trip I ordered again the Yemenite soup, grilled chicken, mashed potato and veg for my friend to take home to her daughter and I decided to have the grilled chicken, red rice and veg which I am sorry to say was awful , the chicken had a dreadful taste of whatever they had coated it in before it was grilled, the red rice was dry and tasteless, the salad was tasteless could have been doing with a dressing of a little olive oil to give it some moisture.

We got take-away from Sami's last night, including falafal, Israeli salad, shwarma, a chicken schnitzel and chips.

this will be the first time and the last eating at this Kosher place . waitress serving you like they doing you a favours . man on the tell i think was the manager has a face of no expiration everyone there was sad and miserable i really felt i was attending chevra kadisha .

5 de nosotros visitamos para la cena y quedamos muy contentos con la experiencia. La comida era abundante y sabrosa. Para un restaurante kosher los precios son razonables y el nuevo restaurante ha sido muy bien equipado y esto se suma a la atracción del lugar. Una nota sobre la camarera que nos cuidó: excelente y se esforzó al máximo con un niño pequeño que se encontraba en el restaurante en ese momento. La única irritación es el cargo por servicio. Si está garantizado para ir al personal, entonces tal vez, pero uno no puede dar esto por sentado. Espero volver, pero tal vez la próxima vez deduzco el cargo por servicio y recompense al personal de acuerdo con el servicio recibido.

The place was half full at 7 pm on a Tuesday evening. The staff are very attentive. I drank Israeli malt beer (non-alcoholic), enjoyed hummus as a starter and lamb shishlik with salad and chips for a main course. Everything was delicious.

Amazing service and great food. I have been here many times and have been treated excellently every time I go. Couldn't recommend this place highly enough.

I have visited Sami's Kosher Restaurant for the first time last week while attending a business meeting in London, I was impressed when I walked in by the warm welcoming at the entrance by Cristina the restaurant's manageress, a young lady with dark hair a million dollars smile, that quickly made my akwardness feeling go away and she made me feel relaxed and as I have arrived before everybody else, I was pleased that I was offered the choice to choose a table even that a lot of them were reserved.

I go to Samis in Hendon a lot and I've never been disappointed. The food is great and the service is excellent. Kind workers with great customer service. I would highly recommend.

A las 7. 30 parece 3 reserva es esencial, ya que este es un lugar muy popular. Comencé con un laffa hummus y extra grande recién horneados (pita).

We actually went to the Borehamwood branch this time which was lovely! Food and service were excellent! The week before we went to the Edgware branch and once again, a wonderful meal!

Me and my partner had our Sunday lunch there today and it was very nice. The hummus and falafel delicious and the service very attentive, professional and welcoming. We forget to ask the name to the girl that took care of us but she will recognise this as we were the only one sitting outside. Thank you very much for your excellent service. The only reason why I’m rating 4 is because of the wine selection. Very poor and overpriced for the actual quality. All the rest was absolutely brilliant.

Tenía una pequeña cena para mis hijas 21 street. Sami's se encargó de todo. La mesa estaba puesta para un cumpleaños, personal amable y excelente comida bien presentada. Bien dirigido por Christina, pequeños detalles hacen de la noche un poco mejor. Se trata de un nuevo restaurante para un grupo establecido, y éste es de lejos el mejor hasta la fecha. Recomiendo las costillas ahumadas y carnes, gracias!

...with new premises and a cool Japanese vibe. Service and crockery have gone upmarket too, and the food is delicious, hot and beautifully presented. Yes, this was all reflected in the bill, but it wasn't exhorbitant, and it's a treat to have an upscale kosher experience once in a while :)

6 of us ate here last week and were suitably impressed.....we didn’t arrive till 11pm so the restaurant wasn’t busy ....the service was quick and the food was good .....the menu has a good selection to choose from and reasonably priced for kosher food....the actual restaurant isn’t very big so may have to book in advance if it’s peak time....would certainly recommend and visit again

We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch in the new premises of Sami’s Restaurant. Sami’s has always been one of my favourite places to eat. I am vegetarian so really enjoyed the felafel, humous and mixed salads with Pitta Bread.

went to the new samis brent street for sunday lunch. empty. lovely décor and then we read the menu. it is completely different to the old samis and much more expensive. the food was nothing special compared with the price and 12 1/2% service charge. We will not be going there again.

I visited this restaurant on a quiet Monday night. (They were quite busy with takeaways, though). I got a friendly welcome and was shown to one of the many tables. having been assured that there was no minimum charge, I sat and ordered houmous with 2 pittas, followed by a bowl of chicken soup with noodles.The houmous portion was generous and silky smooth topped with paprika and olive oil. The soup was very hot, tasty but also had two rather leaden kneidels in it. Also served are shwarma, and various burgers and grills. Strictly kosher.

A group of friends and I decided to visit Sami's last week. A number of us ordered shawarma and mixed skewer platters. The chef decided to hide flakes of shawarma as one of the selections from the mixed platter. This was instead of a full portion. The Israeli salad also turned up with only cucumber. When the waitress was asked why the order had come the way it had, we were told that they had run out of food. Our comment was why not tell us rather than conceal this and let us order something else. To make it worse the manager asked us to not talk while he listened to a message on his phone. Why not go outside and listen to the message? Better places to go in the area who appreciate your custom!!!

I'm a regular here and never disappointed. Excellent food and service. Not expensive for kosher food. Always a simple pleasure.

The wrong food - twice; tiny, rubbery yet over cooked steak; food left sitting on the side and taking ages to get to the table. And a 'he who shouts loudest' approach to service. Oh dear. Add in no apology for the mistakes, a full service charge added to the bill (it was too much effort to query it - we just wanted out) and really there's little to recommend this place. Upsides? - decent shawarma, ok burger, and that's about it. And to make things worse it's not cheap, either.

Genuinely one of the worst restaurants I've ever been to. Food is ridiculously over-priced, just below average quality and one waitress was rude (to be fair, the other waitress was very nice) and was very hard to understand. They put a 10% service charge (as well as an extra charge for a type of bread that is not stated on the menu) which I asked the rude waitress to remove - somehow she was shocked! I almost always tip so it has to be pretty bad not to. It's effectively a kebab shop that charges the same as a decent restaurant. Do not eat here.

Before all the branch out restaurants appeared this was the original great samis.The salads and laffa are excellent.As is all the other food.

Family restaurant with great Middle East food - everything was good, the Shawarma, the chicken, the shishlik, lots of tasty salads, not to mention the pita bread that is made on the spot, especially for you. Everything was so tasty, and in large portions! We were so full that we couldn't finish it. If you're in the area, you must do yourself a favor and eat here!

The staff are almost incomprehensible. Service is poor. Food is greasy and mediocre. Manager is not a friendly man at all.

The usual menu but very tasty and large portions. I often have salt beef which is always good. Service is good. Don't mind paying a premium for kosher food - that's why I go to Sami's - but a bit of a kuzpah to charge £2/£2.50 for a diet coke. However they are happy to give you a jug of tap water.

I say cafe because this is more how it feels, rather than a restaurant. And that is not to take anything away. I had a good two course set lunch here. With a cold drink the bill came to £18, which wasn't unreasonable. Located at the top end of Brent Street it is small, but comfortable to sit. Service was good. They do take aways. I like the fridge magnets you can take, so you need never forget the phone number.

Visited on a Thursday lunchtime. Whilst the food was as anticipated - large portions make up for very average taste - the restaurant was empty and service was unresponsive. All in all the prices are too high for what is offered, especially over a lunch period. Would only go in evening and only went to as one member of party wanted Chinese rather than conventional menu.

They woman who runs the operation is somewhat personality challenged however the rest of the staff make up for it in their professionalism and high quality cooking and service. I highly recommend it for a nice relaxed kosher lunch or dinner that won't break the bank.

my first visit to this restaurant , went with friends = my starter was chicken soup which was very nice = my main meal was salt beef and latka ,,, my salt beet was like warm and my latka the crust was warm but inside was cold ,, very tasteless ,, i ordered sparking water and ask for some ice and was told they do not do ice ?? the staff was very polite and helpfull ,, but i thought £30 for a two course meal is very expensive yes i know it was kosher ,,, but still over the top .... don't let this review put you off ,, go and see for yourself ---

We went during Passover so possibly not the best time to judge.The food - mainly Israeli but also chicken soup and chopped liver - was very good but the portion sizes varied considerably. Service was friendly and efficient. Would I go again. Yes.

As it says on the tin. Wrong food, served with terrible attitude, ridiculous wait. Seemed surprised when we wanted to remove service charge. Didn't think service was great last time I went... But this was worse!

We ordered two Schwarma with pitta. one with the meat and salad within the Pitta as is usual and the other with the Pitta on the side. On receiving the bill, the meal with the pitta on the side was £2 more expensive. On querying this with the waitress, this is because having the pitta on the side is not a usual way of serving so I had to be charged for a plattered meal and a separate pitta. After remonstrating with the waitress she reduced the bill. Ridiculous idea of service. The food, as ever, was good.

Visited Sami's for the first time. We were served quickly by a polite waiter who took our orders promptly. The starters were good and arrived soon after ordering. However, our group of six did not get their main courses all together. There was a twenty minute gap between first and last meals arriving. One of the meals was forgotten so the person had to wait. One person ordered plaice. However, when the main courses started to arrive, the person who ordered fish was told there wasn't any, so had to order something else from the menu so there was and my further delay. The Restaurant Manager wasn't bothered and said Never Mind!!! She also tried to blame the waiter saying he was new. A burger was ordered with salad and eventually came wrongly with vegetables. Also, the cauliflower was off within the vegetables. Food good but service not recommended.

Have been to this and another Sami's restaurant twice now. Have to say we didn't have a problem with the service though you might have to wait a while as it's usually very busy - and noisy - depending on the day and time. Simple food served hot and quickly and in large quantities. Superb chicken soup and wonderful spicy meatballs.

This is our walking-distance local used both as a restaurant and family take-away and we believe it is the best in the area of its type. Soups, salads, grills are all tasty, fresh and ample portions with friendly staff. It does not pretend to be a luxury restaurant but in the kosher/Israeli style it is excellent.They have now opened a number of other branches.

I don't keep kosher, but I do like the Israeli style food - came here quite often, the food's basic but good, the service is abysmal. The ladies taking the orders often don't listen properly, have attitude, and are disrespectful. When I complained today about an order with multiple mistakes sure the owner offered to fix if, but refused to acknowledge the incompetence of her staff - she had no problem giving me a refund and no problem with my telling her I won't be returning. Avoid, avoid, avoid and if you keep kosher consider sinning a little and eating treif instead!

We booked a table for 10 people , only 7 of us were eating, The owner told us the 3 people who haven't ordered have to pay to be in the resturant or we had to leave. Very very rude, the resturant was empty, she missed out on 7 of us eating, how stupid can you be. Never going back, horrible attitude.

Went for takeaway shawarma last night. Asked guy serving for chili, tahini and humus with dish. Actually made a point to check with him that it had been added to which the guy nodded. Arrived home to find this was not the case. Basically the guy couldn't be bothered or just didn't care. In the absence of the condiments the blandness of the food was clear. There might be a slightly longer queue at the Whitehouse a few doors up - perhaps this is one of the reasons and I'd recommend a slightly longer wait is worthwhile.

We live in the area and we must say that we are often going to Sami's, the owner is often there and is a fantastic person, the food is delicious.

The most disgracefully rude owner I have encountered. I live in a vegetarian household, where no meat is served and where the cutlery is not used for meat/fish products.We requested that the delivery come with cutlery (although for a takeaway one would presume this should come as standard). The delivery arrives, and there is no cutlery in the bag. I called the restaurant to ask them why they don't send cutlery, and got told that they do not give out cutlery as standard, only when requested. Why anyone would order takeaway to then use their own cutlery and have cleaning up to do, is beyond me.I then said that he should apologise to me for not sending cutlery and causing problems, to which he responded saying that I should apologise, "for talking rubbish". The rudest and most arrogant restaurant owner I have come across.

We were at samis for supper and ordered food which was served very fast and well presented. We were full by time we left and would definitely return as staff and management where courteous and helpful. A1

The food was delicious, the potato chips were from a frozen bag (less appetising), the place was packed and it took quick. Too quick though, I felt rushed. I sat outside on the pavement and the weather was warm. More than 60 people walked past me and another single person sat at the table alongside. Don't expect anyone to great you or even say 'Hello' back....

Went to Sami's very recently with a group of friends and I was pleasantly surprised as I had not particularly enjoyed my previous experience there( a few years back, to be fair). I had a steak in pitta which was very good and all my friends seemed to enjoy their meals too. The portion of steak was generous (unlike other similar establishments, which sometimes seem to try to get away with a tiny portion hidden in the bread) and well cooked and the salads were fresh and delicious. In particular, the aubergine salad which was lovely and not at all greasy. Service was quick and efficient.This branch is good for an informal get-together with friends as it is pretty basic in terms of decor etc, as mentioned in a previous review. I would certainly go back.

Took my daughter here recently for dinner , the food was good and the service was quick , it's good value for money , the actual resteraunt is very basic so if your looking for a newer modern resteraunt try the other branch in of samis in golders green

Somehow the London Kosher scene is typified by my recent experience at Sami's in Hendon. And there is a sense of boredom with the same quasi-Mid-Eastern charcoal burnt offerings that is so ubiquitous nowadays.Oh how I weep for Blooms!So on a wet and windy night we ordered chicken soup - superb; and then facing a choice of char-broiled meat we opted for a rib steak (£19.50) and schwarma, whilst my daughter avidly awaited her Hungarian Goulash.The "rib" steak was wafer thin but, admittedly, tasty - and the accompanying mixed veg - direct from the frozen pack was embarrassing; the schwarma was average - but it was the goulash that topped everything. Five cubes of meat resting in an insipid watery gravy - surrounded by dry red rice and the heated mixed vegetables.What a disappointment and so unforgivable nowadays.And the bill: £85!I don't think we shall be returning to Sami's - and that's a shame since we have been regular customers for over 20 years.

Enjoyed our visit. Great falafel for starter. Friendly man behind the till who made sure we had everything we needed. Football was on which was a bonus. Much more spacious than the other local kosher shwarma restaurants.

I've been to almost all the restaurants and shops of Golders Green and I would like to ask their owners one simple questionLWHY do you hire staff who don't give a damn about your customers? Is it because they are cheap?". I think I already know the answer.I went to have something to eat at Sami's on Thursday and the blonde waitress at the entrance was simply ignorant. I'm so fed up with waitresses who seem upset and have no manners and I'm sorry to say it but they all happen to be from Eastern Europe.The food was ok even if the shawarma kebab is slightly overcooked and bitter for my liking. I also would like to point out that I visited this place with my 1 year old baby and nobody asked me if I needed a highchair or "does your baby need anything". They didn't even bother to open the door - which was difficult with a buggy - and I thought it was very rude to ignore a customer struggling to enter into your restaurant with a buggy. On top of that, this blonde waitress was always looking if I had finished to eat. I asked for a wireless connection password because i usually work from my laptop and it was like if I had asked them to bring me the moon.They gave me their internet password on a piece of paper and when I was leaving they asked for it back. I thought it was rude. I think I am very simple person who expected a minimum of customer care for the price they charge, which is high for their portions and place, which is not cozy or relaxing.Turkish kebab shops are far less expensive and more welcoming but of course they're not kosher so a lot of people don't go there and have to go to Sami's and meet their rude staff.I also noticed the people who go there and I was not particularly impressed by the atmosphere.There was a lovely Greek waitress tough who didn't speak English very well but she was very sweet and helpful (temporary staff). I wish her to work in a better place.I will not go back for sure.

I go here whenever passing through the area, hell even when I'm not I take a detour just so I can! Their felafel in pitta bread or iraqi bread is that good! Just make sure you also add, amongst all the potential additions such as houmous, tahini, tabouleh etc, their unforgettable aubergine in tomato sauce stuff (don't know what its called), it's a phenomenon. for those who need meat the shwarma is excellent too.

Went to Sami's in Golders Green last night. Had a lovely meal with a new crowd, about 12 of us. We all thought the chicken soup was great. We all had a variety of meals. A couple said their food was not hot enough. Mine was fine. I had lamb cutlets with tomato juicy mixed veg, which made a nice gravy for the lamb. I found my lamb very tasy but a little on the tough side. My roast potatoes stayed hot in a separate bowl, where I left them. The portions were huge and none of us could have any afters. I could not finish my potatoes. I must say though that the staff were excellent. When more noodles were wanted for the soup, they brought two extra bowlfuls for us to share. The staff were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. A nice time was had by all.

We have been customers of this restaurant for many years. They continue to maintain a very high standard. The food is excellent and not too expensive. I highly recommend them for take-away or for eating there.

I ordered take out. Because I was not familiar with the food, i asked for a recommendation. They were helpful. I purchased some kind of rice with chicken. The chicken consisted of a bony breast in the middle. The food was spicy hot.
