Sami's BBQ Takeaway in Vale of White Horse

I have been eating food from these guys for nearly 20 years and they are unfailingly excellent. The food is always cooked perfectly, the range is large and we are always so happy with the order. Obviously once in a blue moon things get mixed up and you get the wrong item, but these guys really care about their customers and they come back straight away, customer service is top rate. There is a reason why they have been so successful for so long and we will order from them for another 20 years I have no doubt!

This place does not serve halal. Many places have listed this as halal, it is not. They confirmed when called that it’s not halal.

We were passing through on a boat and were recommended this place for a quality kabab. We were not disappointed, best kabab and pizza I have had in a long time. Highly recommend.

Disappointed poor service. Ordered 2 kebabs and a kids meal. Collected our food the kids meal was missing and one of the kebabs was just salad and pita. The guy on the phone told me to come and collect the correct order I explained we lived half an hour away and just wanted a refund to be told if I want a refund I have to drop the food back with them. tried charging £24.00 for one kebab and some salad. Shocking

Even though we had a small misunderstanding regarding the menu(only because I always want something special and different) they apologized for not understanding my request and made sure I had everything I asked for before I left the takeaway

Nothing special to be honest, took combo meal chicken was allright chips so so, interisting that no sauce didint ask for salt or vinegar and price was quite expensive, you can eat but wouldn't come back for second time for sure

As great take away that provides food at an expected quality. The kebabs are tasty the chicken is good and the burgers are better than I had expected! We have also had most other things from them over the years always friendly always nice people.

The atmosphere is irrelevant really given it's a takeaway, although there are 2 or 3 tables which people use to sit whilst awaiting their order I suppose.. The food or service here has NEVER been a problem in the 15 years or more we've frequently taken out or had delivered. The guys who run the place are awesome, food is always good, never disappoints!!

The best kebab shop in Abingdon; they are excellent value for money and taste incredible. Unlike other takeaways Sami's use huge chunks of well delicious chicken in their kebabs; my personal favourite. There's plenty of options for how you'd like your salad and an array of sauces. The pizzas are amazing too

Freshly cooked food, of standard kebab shop/takeaway quality. Prices are slightly higher than other local shops, and the staff are certainly not as interactive as in other shops either. I don't go often but although there's nothing particularly wrong with Sami's, I just prefer other local takeaways 🤷🏼‍♂️

Placed order through Just eat and waited 1 hour 30 minutes so I called them up and they hadn't even started making the food yet so I told them I wanted a refund and for them to cancel my order.They failed to cancel my order so I'm Currently trying to get a refund off just eat , absolute nightmare of a company 🙃

My kebab tonight from Samis Abingdon was discussing after all the years I've been to samis I called to tell them and they said its how they made them for years like that I will never go there again it was swimming in some sort of juice don't go there again 😕

Best kebabs in Abingdon, my favourite is the mixed kebab, shish + chicken + kofte but the doner is good too. The kids love the hotwings and chips. Order using the App and food ready when you arrive, they deliver too if required.

Food freshly cooked to order. Not the cheapest takeaway, but tasted lovely, so worth it!

The last two times me and my partner have ordered l, the food has tasted great, but then shortly after were very poorly, got bad tummy etc... So will definitely be avoiding them from now on. Food is a hit and miss, definitely over greasy.

On the upside clean and tidy well over priced for what you get and poor quality food. Cheese burger with low beef content chips bouble fried,chewy and cold and wing greasy and tasteless

Bunch of scammers, food is good but they will try and take advantage of you if they think you have a couple of pints. They overcharge. It took me 3 visits to their town center based shop to realise this.

Very poor kebab meat with small pieces of bone, salad on the turn and grumpy staff. I found friends kebab place just round the corner which is better in every way.

Disappointed to say the least. My partner tried to order a chicken kebab first amongst other food for the family, but because she paused unaware of the choices of chicken/how it’s cooked/ names of.? They hung up!! Obviously far too busy to take a second to let her know!!!😡

Went to the kebab van ordered a chicken kebab on chips, it was £8 I paid £9 and received no change,there was no pitta Which I’d have assumed it would’ve come with and very little ammount of chips considering there was no pitta however the chicken was nice , on another downside I asked for mayo and they didn’t put it on and asked for red onions and got red cabbage. Poor experience and over priced for what I received

Maybe just a side-effect of lockdown, but found the take away mixed kebab we had was quite stingy in quantity for the price we paid

Really tasty kebabs, pizza, fried chicken, potato wedges. Excellent value too - try the Sami's Special which is a mix of the different kebabs plus wings and rice. Nice guys as well.

Best takeaway in the entire town. Excellent menu, the best wraps, kofte to die for, and the fried chicken is great too. Friendly staff, quick delivery, and even with lockdown, their promptness and quality remain high.

Best chicken kebab in Oxfordshire

Bought some things from samis last night on my order was jacket potato a chicken kebab with no salad and BBQ sauce with cheese 2x ribena and a tub of coleslaw and a slice of chocolate fudge cake well I thought it looked odd because I had a small box with a salad in which I did not order therefore where us my slice of fudge cake gone oh yeah I did not get it because I some how got a box of salad which I never ordered please always check the orders before you give them to the driver to bring out to your customers my daughter was not happy at all when I told her she doesn't have pudding so now £2.60 out of pocket if you don't sort it out I will not want to order from you again it's not the only time it has happened either the first time you bought my order out you put two cokes in when it should of been two ribena that time too my daughter was not at all happy so your get a two star rating from me until I see an improvement.

Great guys who work and run the place, consistently great food and delivery times that can't be bested anywhere else in Abingdon by a long shot

This restaurant is appalling! I ended up at Sami’s because Friends (my local) was closed. I have never been so pleased to find out how awful a takeaway can be and that my local is divine in comparison! I received terrible service and was even shouted at at one point just for asking not to have bread, I don’t even understand why as I was surely saving them some effort and cost. I then received a kebab with what I can only assume was semen all over it! I asked for garlic mayo and received a curdled pile of very salty yogurt which I can only imagine has been freshly squeezed from an old retired cow. It was hands down the worst kebab I’ve every had...and I’m not picky! I’ve never made a bad reviews or even any review for that matter, but they were so rude to me that I wouldn’t want anyone else to suffer in the same way! Please take heed and never go here!!!!!

Great food and friendly people work g here, I had the shisha chicken with salad and rice and the chicken tasted really good and the salad was fresh, best rice I've ever had, perfect. 5 star food hygiene rating. My first time using Sami's whilst visiting Abingdon and I'll use them again for sure.

Semi's is the best kebab shop in abingdon usually we order to be delivered Delivery is free if you spend over a certain price the shop is amazingly clean and tidy they family run business makes a range of homemade pizzas baked potatoes fried chicken and of course a wide range of kebabs which are big at medium to large and there x/large are massive

Really not that very good sadly. Havent used samis in about a year so thought id try it again and the food was awful, chips very cold and soft with no flavour or seasoning, the 2 chicken wraps we ordered were dripppping in water, it was all over the wraps and soaked through the paper so much the paper was stuck to the wrap and pick it off but by bit, the water had dripped all the way through the packaging and through the bag so it was all over the table, why is a chicken wrap so wet with water? Is it being washed in the sink before they send it out? So stupid abd the inside if the wrap was so wet it was falling apart, had to get a bowl to catch the cabbage water coming out the bottom. The beans were fine and the salad was so-so, if thats enough for you then go for it, minging meal, shame because ive not heard anything bad about samis before from people so really disappointed with this meal.

Best takeaway chips in Abingdon! The serving sizes are huge as well so I'd recommend ordering a size smaller than you think.

Not very polite but the food is tasty!

the first guy ripped the pitta bread into pieces and chucked the kebab on top. So I asked for a new pitta bread. The kebab is supposed to be IN the pitta, right? A second guy heated a new pitta bread, didn't even try open it, and also chucked everything on the top! For a company that constantly serves kebabs with pitta bread, you would expect them to at least know how to heat up a pitta bread and open it! It's very easy! They obviously don't care about the customers they are trying to serve! one star is too much for a business that can't get the basics right. This was at the kebab van in the market place.

potato wedges.... not usually something to rave about, in fact i usually discard mine when they come free in a deal from another certain pizza establishment. Sami's got wedges on point... like seriously try them with some garlic sauce and if you aint blown away there is something wrong with you. Best takeaway in abingdon (for taste not health as this is too good to be healthy XD)

We had a dinner last night from Sami's which was fresh and tasty culinary experience. 4 types of meat were fresh and in big portions, vegetables where tasty and chips were as they should be. Best Kebab we have tried for months. Thank You guys, great job!

It's okay, I've had many kebabs sober and these are pretty much just as good. Some claim the chilli sauce is hotter than most places. The chips are okay but a bit thin so they will lose heat quite quickly.

My kids love the food from here.

Ok went here as I thought it would be the same as Sami's in Kidlington, but not a patch on it, the soup was cold and I could eat the burger, come on pull your finger out and be more like the Kidlington branch.

Speedy delivery, poor chips but good kebab.

Not the best experience I have to say, over done chips, rubbery meat, I say meat who knows what it was was, I wish I'd walked around the corner to a different takeaway.

I feel sick - not because of the beer but rather the lack luster food served here. I can't put my finger on it just really sloppily done, maybe they have just become to comfortable in their market position and have started to serve sloppy food.

If I could give less than one star then I would, One word - AVOID! Plenty of other, much nicer fast food establishments in town. My experience - I ordered a side of chicken nuggets and chips (the only thing on their limited menu that I fancied) it was awful chips were more grease than potatoe and the chicken was rubbery and under cooked - suffice to say I was very ill the following morning. So yeah - If your out on a Friday night and don't mind Saturday food poisoning then by all means eat here.

Great big kebabs had a small kebab it was more than enough chicken really nice or tho sometimes a bit dry all round food is nice never had a problem delivery always turned up on time
